Star Wars Vs Star War
Star War: The force awakens– this movie was one of my first Star Wars film seen in a movie theater.
This movie was action packed and good till the end where it got even better. Rouge One: A Star
Wars Story– this movie was set in a special list of favorite movies. The remaking of the Star Wars
films has only gotten better. The ending was great. X–men: Days of future past– this movie restarted
the shape of the X–men franchise entirely. Another great movie. X–men: First Class– after seeing
this movie I became a huge fan of the x–men series and believed they were going in a right path for
this. Home– one of the most childish and boring movies I ever saw. Thinking back to that moment I
don't even know who actually forced me to sit down

From flying across the galaxy to massive space battles and interactions between multiple species of
aliens and other worldly creatures. just about everyone nowa something about George Lucas's
famous space sage Star Wars and has at least watched a few of the movies and so,e people may even
think they know everything about this movie and it's creators but most likely there are things you do
not know about these famous and successful movies so today I am going to talk about six fun facts
that you most likely do not know about Star Wars.
Yoda was not originally a puppet Did you know that yoda was not originally a puppet. In fact at first
he was a monkey in a mask. Originally yoda was just a monkey but then one of the crew members

While observing the set Lucas says that the set is so much better than his set and the movie will
make much more money than Star Wars to Lucas's dismay. Lucas also said "Oh my God, your
movie is better than Star Wars! This is gonna be the biggest hit of all time. I can't believe this set"
Lucas said he would trade some earnings with Spielberg. They would each trade 2.5 percent of their
movies earnings to each other. Then Spielberg agreed to the bet but actually Star Wars made $775
million at the box office and close encounters only making $304 million. Though Lucas did not lose
much money since after the movie he was still a billionaire so there was not a giant hole in his
wallet after the bet which surprised Lucas. He was very surprised that Star Wars got almost double
the earning of close encounters and now had so much money.
4. Han Solo died in the original script return of the Jedi In one of the original scripts of return of the
Jedi has Luke being sure that Darth Vader was an evil bad guy and Han Solo dying in a heroic raid
to the Death Star. Though the surprising thing is that Harrison ford the actor who played Han Solo
most likely would have been fine with this since Ford was almost all of the time very snippy about
Lucas's script choices and was always making constant criticisms which most likely annoyed

The Star Wars Trilogy
A directors cut, is a specified edit of a version of a film (or video game, music video, etc.) that is
suppose to represent a vision closer to that of the director. In 2004, director George Lucas had an
interview with Associated Press, and states that the Star Wars series only represented "25 or 30 per
cent" of what he wanted it to be. In the following paragraphs, I will show you how editing scenes
differently can and will change the outlook of characters and the story of Star Wars IV: A New
Hope.
Due to the great commercial success of the Star Wars series, George Lucas was given the
opportunity to rerelease Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope along with the two other movies in the
Star Wars Trilogy. Fox spent a reported $15 million on giving ... Show more content on

Before the 1997 version, the audience hears the name Jabba the Hutt, but has no idea what or who
he is in A New Hope and the following movie in the series The Empire Strikes Back only too see
him for the first time in Return of the Jedi.
Finding out about Jabba the Hutt's appearance and likeness delivers a huge blow to character
development. It takes the mystery out of finding out who this guy that is constantly being talked
about. Ruining a plot mystery like this can ruin the surprise to endings of a story instead of letting it
all unfold.
Another change that happen between versions of Star Wars IV: A New Hope, is the various CGI
added and changed though out the whole movie. Stormtroopers, explosions, and Alliance fighters
are added, changed, and taken away in various scenes in the 1997 and 2011 versions of Star Wars
IV: A New Hope; however, I'm going to focus on the Death Star battle scene.
The Death Star battle, or Battle of Yavin, is a climatic scene where the (first) Death Star, a giant
moon shaped space station and weapon with abilities to destroy planets with its super laser, is
destroyed by the Rebellion. This is actually Luke Skywalker's first step to becoming a Jedi by
showing his leadership skills and his skill potential.
During this battle, large amounts of ships are added to the scene in the 1997 version. This makes the

Star Wars Trilogy
Star Wars is a global phenomenon that brings fun, adventure and excitement to millions of fans
worldwide. With the release of the three movies of the prequel trilogy a whole new set of characters
and adventures were introduced to the Star Wars fandom. Characters like Obi Wan Kenobi, JarJar
Binks, Padme Admidala introduced a new generation to the battle for control of the galaxy between
the suporters of the Peaceful Galactic Republic and the evil Galactic Empire. To celebrate the new
films in the legendary franchise LEGO released a wide range of building sets based of scenes,
characters, and events of the movies. For those who love star wars, especially episodes I, II, and III
these sets are a great way to bring the action to life in your own home regardless of your age.
There are a great many prequel trilogy building sets to be enjoyed including perhaps one that
celebrates what is arguable the most important moment in all of the first three movies, when good
Jedi knight Anakin Skywalker finally succumbs to the power of the dark side to gain the power to
protect his wife Padme and their unborn children. In his rage he is gravly injured and to save his life
the emperor uses advanced technology to turn him into the evil Sith Lord Darth Vader. At that
moment, the events of the original trilogy of movies. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

What Is The Theme Of Star Wars
Star wars Film Analysis
Star wars is an American space opera film directed by George Lucas. Star Wars takes place in a
galaxy far away. We can establish that because the director started with a wide angle shot in the
beginning to show us the preview of the setting. Throughout the movie, Lucas does this to
emphasize where it takes place and how the surrounding fits with the characters. Star Wars doesn't
use many close–ups and I think Lucas does this to emphasize the characters and their costumes. Star
wars is also known for its use of special effects. Since it was written in 1977, the technology
available wasn't advanced enough to create good visuals. Because of the lack of advanced
technology, space travel and Alien was very rare genres to

Why Is Star Wars Better Than Star Trek
To some people hearing about these two film might strike nostalgia among the diehard fans. Some
might be more ignorant to this concept, and not realise there is a complete and utter difference. The
two movie I'm talking about are the most well known science fiction and they are Star Wars and Star
Trek. Now to some hearing these two most well known franchise go at it sound supplementary of
which one would be better. Obviously Star Wars is the better one of the two because it has a better
storyline, great fandom, and better characters. So why is Star Wars better than Star Trek? Well one is
the storyline; of course, that's the main part of their core. Their storyline makes them what they are.
Star Trek has a open story and wide universe,

Similarities Between Star Wars And Star Wars
Star Wars vs. Star Trek Star Wars and Star Trek, two movie titles often confused by non–fans
because the first word of both titles is 'Star'. But do not be confused because the two are extremely
different in all sorts of ways. One of them is fantasy, the other sci–fi. One is full of creatures and
heroes and villains and spaceships and power and darkness, the other filled with humans and aliens
who fly ships together in primary colored uniforms. In other words, one is clearly better than the
other. If you're asking yourself which is which, let me make it a bit easier for you. Star Wars is the
better of the two. Star Wars is worth more, the Star Wars video games put the Star Trek ones to
shame, Star Wars has better film making and better special effects, the Star Wars antagonist (The
Empire) is far scarier than any Star Trek villain, and the list goes on. Still don't agree with me?
That's okay, keep reading and you'll see how much you are wrong.
The dollar value of the two franchises says a lot of what fans and billionaire companies think of the
two. The Star Trek franchise with all of its movies and tv shows approximates to about $3.5 billion.
Star Wars not only beats that value, it nearly triples it. In 2012, Disney bought the rights to the
Lucasfilm franchise from Star Wars creator George Lucas for $4.05 billion. Since then Disney has
used those rights to produce four new Star Wars movies (so far that we know). In 2015, Disney
released Episode 7 of the Star

The nostalgia factour becomes vastly important when appealing to an older audience like the
intended audience of this commercial. In this commercial, the producers decided to appeal to the
broad, and extremely nostalgic, Star Wars audience. The producers of this commercial use a variety
of methods that allows for them to possibly sway their viewer 's opinions on a product versus other
products. Some of the techniques that the producers use are the utilization of changing the color
scheme of the environment in the commercial, the use of certain objects such as the family dog, and
perhaps the most important one, the use of the Star Wars franchise. The main persuasion of this
commercial tries to implement the use of pathos to acquire more ... Show more content on

What the boy did not know, however, was that his dad has a remote starter for the car. Appealing to
his son 's fantasies, the father makes his son believe that he could actually use the force to start the
car. During the entirety of the commercial and in–between all of the scenes, the use of classical
persuasions can be easily detected such as the use of nostalgia. The Star Wars movies have a cult
following which has members from all generations new and old. This explains why this commercial
would have such a drastic effect on anyone that loved the Star Wars franchise as a kid and continued
to grow up loving it. This reminiscence caused by these movies causes people to relate with good
memories of their adolescence which creates a stronger emotional bond between the viewer and the
car company. With this new emotional bond created, it now connects the viewer with the car
company. This connection then creates emotion within the viewer that could sway their opinion on
which car they might test drive first. Another connection this commercial manifests is an important
connection between each viewer. Common experiences between people viewing the advertisement
help to generate a good rapport with the people that relate to this commercial on a personal level.
This then creates buzz about the brand, in this case, Volkswagen, by the spreading of the commercial
on social media and various news and TV outlets.

Star Wars Vs Star Trek
Star Trek and Star Wars have similar and different concepts, Throughout the years, two science
fiction classics have rivaled each other. Both have strong loyal fans that obsess over these classic
stories. Shirts, costumes, sheets, and action figures are only some of the merchandise sold of these
two films. Star Wars and Star Trek definitely share some similarities being both science fiction
movies. While the similarities are there, especially when many people confuse characters and plot.
Differences account for the awesomeness of each movie. If someone were to place a Star Trek and a
Star Wars fan in the same room, only one would come out alive(it would be the Star Wars fan). This

There variety of different spaceships dwarfs the amount Star Trek has. Most of Star Treks ships
share the saucer head design while in Star Wars, ships designs and functions vary. What is cooler
than a lightsaber. A phaser? Try again. Star Treks weapons consist of phasers, Plasma cannons, and
lasers. Photon torpedoes will never be as exciting to watch as even the most serious lightsaber duel
is more entertaining. All of Star Treks weapons seem pretty dull and boring (like there spaceships).
But you now what's not boring? The (2nd)most destructive weapon ever created. The planet killer.
The Death Star. If you're wondering why I mentioned it as the second it's because it is only behind
StarKiller base. The name fits it's use, Starkiller base is capable of using the power of a star to
destroy multiple planets across a distance of what appears to be light years. This is far and beyond
the power of anything in the Federation fleet. That is scary. There's no weapon like that in the
universe of Star Trek. The lightsaber is an iconic weapon. None are like it. Now the only thing
cooler than a lightsaber is the one who wields it. Ask anyone you see on the street what a Jedi is and
I can almost guarantee you that they will know or will know that it has to do with Star Wars. Star
Wars has had such an impact on the world that there is even a religion dedicated to the ways of the
Jedi. Members span across the globe and it is growing rapidly. The Jedi are the guardians of peace in
the galaxy. They dedicate their life to the "Force". The force is a mysterious energy that surrounds
the entire universe. The Jedi are force sensitive which means they have the ability to control this
force giving them incredible abilities such as being able to move any object or person, run at super
speeds, Jump higher than everyone else, even shoot lightning from their hands. I could go on forever

Conflicts In Star Wars
In the movie series Star Wars throughout every movie of the original trilogies Luke Skywalker (part
of the Jedi's) and Darth Vader (part of the empire) have a continuing conflict. To give a little
background I will explain the previous movies. Basically the Empire, who is part of the Dark Side,
wants to rule the galaxy so they want to destroy all the rebels. The rebels are against the Empire and
are trying to take them down throughout these movies. The ruler of the Empire, the Emperor, has
Darth Vader as his sort of "side kick". Luke Skywalker and his sister Leia along with other rebels try
and help take the emperor and Darth Vader down in order to save the galaxy. Luke also found out
that Darth Vader is his father and once was a strong ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Emperor and Darth Vader are trying to convince Luke to turn to the dark side. Luke is a strong
Jedi and refuses to turn to the dark side and this causes both of them to become angry. Darth Vader
and Luke being to fight while the Emperor is telling Vader to destroy Luke. Luke tries to talk Vader
down and remind him of the good he used to do and believes he still has some good in him. He
doesn't want to fight Vader because he believes there is still good in him and he doesn't want to have
hate in his heart. Luke knows that Vader has a conflict inside him and that is what has prevented
Vader from killing him before. This angers Vader because he believes that the dark side is powerful
and thinks Luke is underestimating him. Vader still continues to try and talk Luke into turning to the
dark side and when he realizes Luke never will he brings up Leia, Luke's sister, and says maybe she
will turn to the dark side. This sparks something in Luke and he beings to fight back with Vader.
Luke then cuts Vader's other hand off and the Emperor is pleased because he believes Luke has hate
in his heart and tells him to kill his father and take his father's place in the dark side. Luke refuses
and says he will never turn to the dark side. The emperor draws angry and he tries to destroy Luke.

Soundtrack Of Star Wars
Star Wars is one of those franchises that spans generations, and is beloved around the world. The
sights and sounds of Star Wars has prevailed throughout the decades, whether as nostalgia, or to
complain about the prequel trilogy. Star Wars has become ingrained in the part of society reserved
for pop culture references, memes, and wasted money on official (and not so official) merchandise.
Overall, every aspect, but particularly the sounds, of the Star Wars franchise is made to connect back
to the original trilogy. Despite being spread across decades and multiple facets of the franchise, the
familiar, continuing sounds of Star Wars is a way of retaining continuity, and nostalgia, as well as
identifying characters and themes. The scene chosen ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The sounds match the area and environments, as discussed in above paragraphs it is the robots and
technology that were created within the realm of the film's universe and genre that set the
environment. Aurally the sense of space is not similar to what is being visually portrayed in some
parts, particularly when characters are talking; there is no reverberation off of metal or plastic when
Obi Wan Kenobi is talking to Padmé in the spacious hospital room full of plastics and metal, he
sounds more like he is in a closed environment, and close to the microphone. Despite this the
soundscape is still used to effectively shape the environment seen on screen into a "hallucination" of
a fully real world, one is able to almost sense and touch within one's mind. Most evidently at the
very end scene when Darth Vader is overcome by anguish at the revelation that he killed Padmé. In
that part he loses his control over the Force and starts to destroy the robots and equipment still
present in the room after his surgery. One can hear the familiar sounds of bottles and glass being
smashed, and crinkles of cans

Trek symbol. This birthmark has led me to want to know a little more about these two popular
movies.
There are many differences between Star Wars and Star Trek. For instance, the weaponry used. Star
Wars used lightsabers, blasters, ion cannons, and laser cannons for weapons while in Star Trek
multiple beams, pulse, and torpedo weapon types are used. In 1966, Star

Have you ever got a new toy on Christmas Day, but the toy did not come with any batteries? Do you

time to air this commercial, mainly because Christmas was coming up and the release of the new

anticipation for buying Christmas toys and for the release of the Star Wars movie. This commercial
has a Christmas theme to it with the kids opening up presents and the Star Wars theme with the light

The Main Theme Of John Williams 'Star Wars'
I chose to explain how the composer John Williams used The Main theme from Star Wars to capture
and enhance the mood of the film. The song, in my opinion, did enhance the mood of the theme.
Right from the beginning when listening to the song you would know that it is about adventure,
struggles and a fight between good and evil. It makes you want to find out more about the movie
while building up anticipation for the movie.
With the right music, the battle scene can go from ok to very good and memorable. From this piece,
you get the excitement from the chase or the back and forth battles going on. The main theme from

Compare And Contrast Star Wars And Star Trek
While the age–old question of "Star Wars or Star Trek?" is based on personal preference, there are
many similarities and differences between the two. Star Wars, though it has a larger fan base, is not
necessarily the reigning champion when it comes to storylines, nor is Star Trek the winner with its
scientific background and hopeful prospects of the future. Sci–Fi, or science fiction, has been a
genre that has fascinated the masses for generations. Having had the space race end in 1957, the
space travel frenzy that ensued was the beginning of a Sci–Fi nation. Star Trek's television series,
The Original Series was fairly successful, while Star Wars' A New Hope was a smashing success,
bringing in millions of dollars and twice as many fans. Star Trek's The Next Generation and Star
Wars' A New Hope have as much in common as they have in opposition. Star Trek and Star Wars,

While The Next Generation and A New Hope contain about three non–human individuals as main
characters, that's where most of the similarities end. A New Hope focuses on Luke Skywalker and
how his choices impact those around him. The main characters in Star Wars aren't given specific
ranks like 'commander' and 'captain' amongst their own group. This makes the trio of A New Hope
seem like a family. Star Wars has the familiar, fantasy–like set up. The 'old sage' character of Obi–
Won Kenobi teaches the 'inexperienced hero' Luke Skywalker, when suddenly a tragedy occurs and
the inexperienced hero is left stranded. Furious and scared, the hero sets out to destroy those who
hurt him, and against all odds, arises victorious. This standard television trope contrasts greatly with

Star Wars Argumentative Essay
Under normal circumstances, when a fairly large franchise film is coming out, you could be forgiven
for forgetting about the accompanying video game that inevitably comes along with it. Ranging
from painful cash–grabs to satisfying tie–ins, film–inspired games usually appear the afterthought of
the Hollywood marketing process. But Star Wars: the Force Awakens isn't a fairly large franchise
film, and these are by no means normal circumstances.
A little under a month ahead of what could quite possibly be the biggest cinematic release of all
time, we fans have not just a shameless tie–in but a fully–fledged reboot of one of the most loved
franchises in Star Wars' enormous gaming catalogue. And while that may be as much a result of
rose–tinted nostalgia and remarkably consistent marketing of Disney as it is anything else, EA
DICE's Star Wars Battlefront has quite some expectations to meet now it's finally here.
As you more than likely know by now, Star Wars Battlefront is an entirely multiplayer–focused
game. Players are given the choice between the Multiplayer modes and Battlefront's Missions mode,
but the emphasis is placed heavily on the former. Within Multiplayer, there are nine other modes to
choose from, varying between the large–scale, frenetic 40–player battles of Walker Assault and

It was also where Leia – head of the rebels and Resistance–grew up. It was a beautiful planet, with

Star Wars Mythology
In the film, The Mythology of Star Wars with George Lucas and Bill Moyers, the storyline of Star
Wars was analyzed to showcase the myths and traditions that were present in the films. The film had
some universal themes that we see in classic mythology; a few being the issues we have with
friendship, the obligations we share with others, and our destiny. George Luca stated that he was
"telling an old myth in a new way" when referring to the movie series, and it's made visible through
his work. In his work, like in mythology, you can clearly see that "the good people are good, and the
bad people are bad". Thinking in more specific terms, if we look at mythological creatures like the

Lucas philosophy on religion ties into everyday life. He believes that "we all teach everyday in our
lives", so Lucas makes it apparent to make sure his movies has a good life lesson to learn from. Star
Wars overall takes on issues that religions represent because religious stories correlate to
mythological stories, thus Star Wars gives both factors a modern twist. For Lucas, he believes that
all religions true, it just "sees a different part" in higher powers. Religion allows people to be
balanced, like how Luke must feel balanced to use the force. In fact, the force is established in the
films as a symbolism of faith, Lucas has hoped that the force has awoken the curiosity to awaken
spiritually in younger people. Thinking of religious stories and how they can tie into the movies;
there was a story where evil tried to get good on their side, just like how Darth Vardar tried to get
Luke to join the dark side. Overall, there are numerous elements that shows that Star Wars goes
beyond myths and connect to life today. Star Wars main concept is transformation and transition,
and you see that in Luke's journey. Like Luke, people have a life journey that they have to take as
well between the ages of 18 to 20. Its around that time that people are establishing a sense of
themselves, and learn that they are part of a bigger community. That is how Star Wars

Utilitarianism In Star Wars
In the original trilogy the protagonists are underdogs, however, in the prequels, the supposed "good"
guys are shown to be a powerful combination of government and military lead by monastic warriors.
The structure of the Jedi order and their influence over a "republican" senate closely resembles the
relationship between the Roman Catholic church, the Knights templar, and western European
countries. Christendom historically was a socio–religious community that became corrupted by
greedy individuals. It transformed into a geopolitical, secular power controlled by the wealthy and
imposed its will by force. This conception of corruption and war profiteering is depicted in the Star
Wars films when looking at how the senate enlists the Jedi as generals ... Show more content on

One side inspires the people to go after the other because of one act of aggression perpetrated by
only one sect of the particular side. History and narrative coincide when observing a very political
war with the strings pulled by competing religions. The republic fears disunity as planets align with
the separatists just as Europeans feared a shrinking Christendom and growing Islamic state. Even
though most of Europe was unaffected by the military advancements made by Turks and Ottomans,

Antigone, Star Wars, and the Good Life
Sophocles's play Antigone promotes a good life that, through careful analysis, is very similar to the
Stoic theory of the good life. Antigone is a story about the members of the ancient Theban
aristocracy vying for control of themselves and others; however, in its core it contains an
exploration of the good life, that is trying to investigate what values will allow one to get what they
want out of life. A group of philosophers, also of Greek origin, produced a theory of this topic; this
group of thinkers is called the Stoics. Concerning the good life they had two main values, from
which they believe a good life can originate. The first of the two is finding happiness from inner
resources, or trying not to depend on things around you such as wealth or adventure to give you a
sense of happiness. The second facet is that of not worrying about things that are out of your control,
as there is no use. Antigone brings to stage these topics, and shows characters who either live
according to them, and exit with a good life, and others who deny these, and end the play living in a
bad life. Therefore the play shows through example, that Stoic values will lead to a positive way of
living, and living against the values will lead to you not getting everything out of life. The two main
characters in this tragedy are Creon, the king of Thebes, and uncle of the other character Antigone,
the daughter of the last king of the same city Thebes. Creon does not live according to the values of

Merchandising is explained as the activities having to do with the right merchandise at the right

of goods between consumers and producers is defined as marketing. When these elements are
focused on major motion movie pictures, movie producer companies will be able to promote any
kind of themed product with a unique connection to the movie. The center of the marketing effort on

Star Wars Game Analysis
Would you rather be in a dinosaur world or play a game where you are in a battle in Star Wars?
These two things are possible. First up is "Ark Survival Evolved". This game is an open world with
almost endless possibilities. There really isn't an objective given to you, players just have to come
up with their own objective. Your own personal objective could be to tame a certain dinosaur or
build your base but first you need to get the supplies to do so. Although there is not an objective
given to you, most people have the goal and that is to stay alive!
Now for "Star Wars Battlefront". The objective depends on what gamemode you play. For example,
in one of the gamemodes, you have to defend or attack objectives and those are usually labeled ...

Ark Survival Evolved and Star Wars Battlefront are different. Ark has dinosaurs but there isn't really
a time on it because there are guns and turrets but no futuristic stuff. While Star Wars Battlefront is
set in star wars which is "along time ago in a galaxy far far away" and as everyone knows is very

Star Trek, while it does include action and adventure, focuses more on space travel, scientific and

The Story Of Star Wars
To get to the origins of the billboard, we need to start with the story of Star Wars. In 19xx George
Lucas has an idea that become Star Wars. In 1976, with the first novel, and again in 1977 with the
release of the motion picture that idea became a reality. But not even Lucas knew what a
phonomenia it would become. He captured not only the minds but the hearts of the public. Those
most enraptured with his work would clamber for every scrap we could get are hands on. It was
slow coming after the Original Trilogy was released. Then through the dedication of a lone
Lucasfilm employee, Lucy Autrey Wilson, The Thrawn Trilogy by Timothy Zahn was published.

brought up and quickly dropped several times over the period of several month. Then on one of Matt

watched his show. The idea bit. They brought the idea back to the other page owners and it was
decided the billboard had to become a reality. At first progress was none existant as there are no
billboards in the Presidio, where Lucasfilm is headquartered. The Page Owners went to various
websites of the offered billboards and yet were unable to find a viable location. They then went to
Google Maps and the roads by street level looking for appropriate locations. Still nothing. Then
Brian Borg, the man who would become the billboard 's Campaign Manager, decide the only way to
move forward was to contact ad companies directly for assistance in locating viable spots. Sucess,
there now was a location for the billboard. The Page Owners now got work on the wording and the
design for the billboard. The wording had to be perfect, it needed to be attention grabbing, direct,

Force Awakens. Many have reviewed it positively based on its budget and popularity but whereas it
might deserve such positive reviews, the fact that the movie is overrated is evident since there are
many rip offs, poor cinematography and many other cinematic flaws.
To start with, having watched the whole sequel of the Star Wars. The Star Wars; the Force Awakens

Star Wars Effects
One of the reasons creating Star Wars was so hard was because of the technology available, or lack
thereof. Even Lucas said, "There was no special effects companies in those days and the studios'
special effects department had been disbanded. Part of the was because of the expense, and part of it
was that the American taste, the culture had gone toward very realistic–looking films." (Empire of
Dreams) But Lucas was determined and "In many cases, the equipment and techniques to realize
what Lucas envisioned did not exist yet; they would have to be invented." (Clark 43) So in 1975,
Lucas created a visual effects company and hired John Dykstra, a talented special effects artist, to
head the company which he named ILM, or Industrial Light & Magic. ILM spurred from Star Wars
and is still renowned today for having some of the best special effects in the industry. One of the
things they created was called the Dystraflex, "The world's first digital computer–controlled camera
system, it was capable of precise and repeatable movement, giving the filmmakers far more control
in, among other areas, their work with miniatures." (Elhefnawy 52) Or, as John Dykstra put it, "We

From their philosophies to the way they do battle to the way the dress, the powerful Jedi Knights of
the Star Wars galaxy have clear parallelisms with our galaxy's Samurais. Examples of these
parallelisms are the robes that the Jedi used are quite similar to the robes that the Samurai used,
another one is the Japanese katana that the Samurais used in battle and the Light Saber that the Jedi
used to keep the peace. George Lucas also borrowed ideas from other samurai movies such as
Sanjuro and Yojimbo both by Akira Kurosawa. Apart from having Asian origins, Star Wars also has
Western background. One of the earliest science fiction graphic novels known to man is Flash
Gordon. It's clear why George Lucas took some of Flash Gordon's concepts and applied it with his
own films. Flash Gordon however, also borrowed it's concepts with an even earlier sci–fi comic
strip: Buck Rogers. One of the clearest similarities between Star Wars and Flash Gordon is the
signature "roll–up" that is present in the start of every Star Wars movie. One less noticeable
similarity is the "vocabulary" of Flash Gordon (which was also taken from Buck Rogers). Since
Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers were the only ones that mentioned of futuristic space travel and
intergalactic battles, George Lucas based the vocabulary of Star Wars on these two science fiction
works of his time. The technology and the gadgets of Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers were also of

Gains movies
While Star Wars has raised its six films about $ 5,670 million, Star Trek with its dozen films he has
reached $ 1,760. And yet here we do not have the latest animated film, which also must be much–.
The film pocketed more money from the Star Wars saga was the original 1977–about $ 1,610
million– while Star Trek are barely reached $ 235 million with its Star Trek IV 1986
Conclusion:
I choose Star Wars vs. Star Trek because I like science fiction and fantasy movies. I liked Star Wars
more because it has more special effects and the characters demonstrate more action; however the
part of the movie as the main character. Star Trek didn't Convince me. I think it was boring.

Untitled Jedi Paper When George Lucas released Star Wars in 1977, it would be reasonable to
assume he possessed some level of expectations regarding how his film saga would affect and alter
the lives of its audience. What he may not have anticipated, however, is that his fictional
protagonists, the Jedi Order, and their respective philosophies would resonate so strongly within
particular individuals to such an extent that it would provide the foundation for the establishment of
a new interpretation of reality; this philosophical movement is perceived by many as a religious
movement and, to some extent, a new religion in and of itself. Today, the church of "Jediism" is said
to have accumulated thousands of followers across the globe and is recorded as being the seventh–
largest religion in the United Kingdom (DailyMail). While there is speculation that the census
results which produced these figures may be inconclusive due to insincere responses, it is widely
accepted that Jediism is a very real concept for many groups of individuals, one that affects their
philosophical outlook as well as their everyday life. The church of Jediism is composed of many
different groups who share similar philosophies yet have slight variations in the articulations of their
doctrines. The remainder of this paper will focus specifically on the organization identified as "Jedi

Few great filmmakers can write and oversee the production of a film that will be relevant and built
upon for the next 4 decades. Even fewer filmmakers can be regarded as the person who changed
cinema forever. George Lucas did all of this in 1977 with the release of the film he created,
originally called, "The Star Wars." He had this idea after his first feature length film "American
Graffiti" in 1973. This film became popular and he later pitched his idea for a space opera to the

The saga's brand consistently finds a place in the top five licensed toy brands each year, according to
NPD Group (Ames)." This shows that the franchise has grown into one of the largest players in toy
sales as well as revenue product. Other toy brands ranking high up include Lego, Nerf, Nintendo,
Mattel, Hasbro, and Kenner. It is evident that when a single franchise, Star Wars, is available in

impacts on society. The revenue coming from these sources is immense, usually averaging out to
more than the original ticket sales for the films. These toys and games, intended for children, are

Star Wars Vs Star War

  • 1. Star Wars Vs Star War Star War: The force awakens– this movie was one of my first Star Wars film seen in a movie theater. This movie was action packed and good till the end where it got even better. Rouge One: A Star Wars Story– this movie was set in a special list of favorite movies. The remaking of the Star Wars films has only gotten better. The ending was great. X–men: Days of future past– this movie restarted the shape of the X–men franchise entirely. Another great movie. X–men: First Class– after seeing this movie I became a huge fan of the x–men series and believed they were going in a right path for this. Home– one of the most childish and boring movies I ever saw. Thinking back to that moment I don't even know who actually forced me to sit down ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. Star Wars Essay From flying across the galaxy to massive space battles and interactions between multiple species of aliens and other worldly creatures. just about everyone nowa something about George Lucas's famous space sage Star Wars and has at least watched a few of the movies and so,e people may even think they know everything about this movie and it's creators but most likely there are things you do not know about these famous and successful movies so today I am going to talk about six fun facts that you most likely do not know about Star Wars. Yoda was not originally a puppet Did you know that yoda was not originally a puppet. In fact at first he was a monkey in a mask. Originally yoda was just a monkey but then one of the crew members who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While observing the set Lucas says that the set is so much better than his set and the movie will make much more money than Star Wars to Lucas's dismay. Lucas also said "Oh my God, your movie is better than Star Wars! This is gonna be the biggest hit of all time. I can't believe this set" Lucas said he would trade some earnings with Spielberg. They would each trade 2.5 percent of their movies earnings to each other. Then Spielberg agreed to the bet but actually Star Wars made $775 million at the box office and close encounters only making $304 million. Though Lucas did not lose much money since after the movie he was still a billionaire so there was not a giant hole in his wallet after the bet which surprised Lucas. He was very surprised that Star Wars got almost double the earning of close encounters and now had so much money. 4. Han Solo died in the original script return of the Jedi In one of the original scripts of return of the Jedi has Luke being sure that Darth Vader was an evil bad guy and Han Solo dying in a heroic raid to the Death Star. Though the surprising thing is that Harrison ford the actor who played Han Solo most likely would have been fine with this since Ford was almost all of the time very snippy about Lucas's script choices and was always making constant criticisms which most likely annoyed ... • 5. The Star Wars Trilogy A directors cut, is a specified edit of a version of a film (or video game, music video, etc.) that is suppose to represent a vision closer to that of the director. In 2004, director George Lucas had an interview with Associated Press, and states that the Star Wars series only represented "25 or 30 per cent" of what he wanted it to be. In the following paragraphs, I will show you how editing scenes differently can and will change the outlook of characters and the story of Star Wars IV: A New Hope. Due to the great commercial success of the Star Wars series, George Lucas was given the opportunity to rerelease Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope along with the two other movies in the Star Wars Trilogy. Fox spent a reported $15 million on giving ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Before the 1997 version, the audience hears the name Jabba the Hutt, but has no idea what or who he is in A New Hope and the following movie in the series The Empire Strikes Back only too see him for the first time in Return of the Jedi. Finding out about Jabba the Hutt's appearance and likeness delivers a huge blow to character development. It takes the mystery out of finding out who this guy that is constantly being talked about. Ruining a plot mystery like this can ruin the surprise to endings of a story instead of letting it all unfold. Another change that happen between versions of Star Wars IV: A New Hope, is the various CGI added and changed though out the whole movie. Stormtroopers, explosions, and Alliance fighters are added, changed, and taken away in various scenes in the 1997 and 2011 versions of Star Wars IV: A New Hope; however, I'm going to focus on the Death Star battle scene. The Death Star battle, or Battle of Yavin, is a climatic scene where the (first) Death Star, a giant moon shaped space station and weapon with abilities to destroy planets with its super laser, is destroyed by the Rebellion. This is actually Luke Skywalker's first step to becoming a Jedi by showing his leadership skills and his skill potential. During this battle, large amounts of ships are added to the scene in the 1997 version. This makes the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Star Wars Trilogy Star Wars is a global phenomenon that brings fun, adventure and excitement to millions of fans worldwide. With the release of the three movies of the prequel trilogy a whole new set of characters and adventures were introduced to the Star Wars fandom. Characters like Obi Wan Kenobi, JarJar Binks, Padme Admidala introduced a new generation to the battle for control of the galaxy between the suporters of the Peaceful Galactic Republic and the evil Galactic Empire. To celebrate the new films in the legendary franchise LEGO released a wide range of building sets based of scenes, characters, and events of the movies. For those who love star wars, especially episodes I, II, and III these sets are a great way to bring the action to life in your own home regardless of your age. There are a great many prequel trilogy building sets to be enjoyed including perhaps one that celebrates what is arguable the most important moment in all of the first three movies, when good Jedi knight Anakin Skywalker finally succumbs to the power of the dark side to gain the power to protect his wife Padme and their unborn children. In his rage he is gravly injured and to save his life the emperor uses advanced technology to turn him into the evil Sith Lord Darth Vader. At that moment, the events of the original trilogy of movies. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 9. What Is The Theme Of Star Wars Star wars Film Analysis Star wars is an American space opera film directed by George Lucas. Star Wars takes place in a galaxy far away. We can establish that because the director started with a wide angle shot in the beginning to show us the preview of the setting. Throughout the movie, Lucas does this to emphasize where it takes place and how the surrounding fits with the characters. Star Wars doesn't use many close–ups and I think Lucas does this to emphasize the characters and their costumes. Star wars is also known for its use of special effects. Since it was written in 1977, the technology available wasn't advanced enough to create good visuals. Because of the lack of advanced technology, space travel and Alien was very rare genres to ... • 11. Why Is Star Wars Better Than Star Trek To some people hearing about these two film might strike nostalgia among the diehard fans. Some might be more ignorant to this concept, and not realise there is a complete and utter difference. The two movie I'm talking about are the most well known science fiction and they are Star Wars and Star Trek. Now to some hearing these two most well known franchise go at it sound supplementary of which one would be better. Obviously Star Wars is the better one of the two because it has a better storyline, great fandom, and better characters. So why is Star Wars better than Star Trek? Well one is the storyline; of course, that's the main part of their core. Their storyline makes them what they are. Star Trek has a open story and wide universe, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Similarities Between Star Wars And Star Wars Star Wars vs. Star Trek Star Wars and Star Trek, two movie titles often confused by non–fans because the first word of both titles is 'Star'. But do not be confused because the two are extremely different in all sorts of ways. One of them is fantasy, the other sci–fi. One is full of creatures and heroes and villains and spaceships and power and darkness, the other filled with humans and aliens who fly ships together in primary colored uniforms. In other words, one is clearly better than the other. If you're asking yourself which is which, let me make it a bit easier for you. Star Wars is the better of the two. Star Wars is worth more, the Star Wars video games put the Star Trek ones to shame, Star Wars has better film making and better special effects, the Star Wars antagonist (The Empire) is far scarier than any Star Trek villain, and the list goes on. Still don't agree with me? That's okay, keep reading and you'll see how much you are wrong. The dollar value of the two franchises says a lot of what fans and billionaire companies think of the two. The Star Trek franchise with all of its movies and tv shows approximates to about $3.5 billion. Star Wars not only beats that value, it nearly triples it. In 2012, Disney bought the rights to the Lucasfilm franchise from Star Wars creator George Lucas for $4.05 billion. Since then Disney has used those rights to produce four new Star Wars movies (so far that we know). In 2015, Disney released Episode 7 of the Star ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. The Star Wars The nostalgia factour becomes vastly important when appealing to an older audience like the intended audience of this commercial. In this commercial, the producers decided to appeal to the broad, and extremely nostalgic, Star Wars audience. The producers of this commercial use a variety of methods that allows for them to possibly sway their viewer 's opinions on a product versus other products. Some of the techniques that the producers use are the utilization of changing the color scheme of the environment in the commercial, the use of certain objects such as the family dog, and perhaps the most important one, the use of the Star Wars franchise. The main persuasion of this commercial tries to implement the use of pathos to acquire more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What the boy did not know, however, was that his dad has a remote starter for the car. Appealing to his son 's fantasies, the father makes his son believe that he could actually use the force to start the car. During the entirety of the commercial and in–between all of the scenes, the use of classical persuasions can be easily detected such as the use of nostalgia. The Star Wars movies have a cult following which has members from all generations new and old. This explains why this commercial would have such a drastic effect on anyone that loved the Star Wars franchise as a kid and continued to grow up loving it. This reminiscence caused by these movies causes people to relate with good memories of their adolescence which creates a stronger emotional bond between the viewer and the car company. With this new emotional bond created, it now connects the viewer with the car company. This connection then creates emotion within the viewer that could sway their opinion on which car they might test drive first. Another connection this commercial manifests is an important connection between each viewer. Common experiences between people viewing the advertisement help to generate a good rapport with the people that relate to this commercial on a personal level. This then creates buzz about the brand, in this case, Volkswagen, by the spreading of the commercial on social media and various news and TV outlets. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. Star Wars Vs Star Trek Star Trek and Star Wars have similar and different concepts, Throughout the years, two science fiction classics have rivaled each other. Both have strong loyal fans that obsess over these classic stories. Shirts, costumes, sheets, and action figures are only some of the merchandise sold of these two films. Star Wars and Star Trek definitely share some similarities being both science fiction movies. While the similarities are there, especially when many people confuse characters and plot. Differences account for the awesomeness of each movie. If someone were to place a Star Trek and a Star Wars fan in the same room, only one would come out alive(it would be the Star Wars fan). This is because every fan knows that Star Wars and Star Trek are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There variety of different spaceships dwarfs the amount Star Trek has. Most of Star Treks ships share the saucer head design while in Star Wars, ships designs and functions vary. What is cooler than a lightsaber. A phaser? Try again. Star Treks weapons consist of phasers, Plasma cannons, and lasers. Photon torpedoes will never be as exciting to watch as even the most serious lightsaber duel is more entertaining. All of Star Treks weapons seem pretty dull and boring (like there spaceships). But you now what's not boring? The (2nd)most destructive weapon ever created. The planet killer. The Death Star. If you're wondering why I mentioned it as the second it's because it is only behind StarKiller base. The name fits it's use, Starkiller base is capable of using the power of a star to destroy multiple planets across a distance of what appears to be light years. This is far and beyond the power of anything in the Federation fleet. That is scary. There's no weapon like that in the universe of Star Trek. The lightsaber is an iconic weapon. None are like it. Now the only thing cooler than a lightsaber is the one who wields it. Ask anyone you see on the street what a Jedi is and I can almost guarantee you that they will know or will know that it has to do with Star Wars. Star Wars has had such an impact on the world that there is even a religion dedicated to the ways of the Jedi. Members span across the globe and it is growing rapidly. The Jedi are the guardians of peace in the galaxy. They dedicate their life to the "Force". The force is a mysterious energy that surrounds the entire universe. The Jedi are force sensitive which means they have the ability to control this force giving them incredible abilities such as being able to move any object or person, run at super speeds, Jump higher than everyone else, even shoot lightning from their hands. To give a little background I will explain the previous movies. Basically the Empire, who is part of the Dark Side, wants to rule the galaxy so they want to destroy all the rebels. The rebels are against the Empire and are trying to take them down throughout these movies. The ruler of the Empire, the Emperor, has Darth Vader as his sort of "side kick". Luke Skywalker and his sister Leia along with other rebels try and help take the emperor and Darth Vader down in order to save the galaxy. Luke also found out that Darth Vader is his father and once was a strong ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Emperor and Darth Vader are trying to convince Luke to turn to the dark side. He doesn't want to fight Vader because he believes there is still good in him and he doesn't want to have hate in his heart. Luke knows that Vader has a conflict inside him and that is what has prevented Vader from killing him before. This angers Vader because he believes that the dark side is powerful and thinks Luke is underestimating him. Vader still continues to try and talk Luke into turning to the dark side and when he realizes Luke never will he brings up Leia, Luke's sister, and says maybe she will turn to the dark side. This sparks something in Luke and he beings to fight back with Vader. Luke then cuts Vader's other hand off and the Emperor is pleased because he believes Luke has hate in his heart and tells him to kill his father and take his father's place in the dark side. Luke refuses and says he will never turn to the dark side. The emperor draws angry and he tries to destroy Luke. Luke begs for Vader's help and then Vader steps up and kills the ... The sights and sounds of Star Wars has prevailed throughout the decades, whether as nostalgia, or to complain about the prequel trilogy. Star Wars has become ingrained in the part of society reserved for pop culture references, memes, and wasted money on official (and not so official) merchandise. Overall, every aspect, but particularly the sounds, of the Star Wars franchise is made to connect back to the original trilogy. Aurally the sense of space is not similar to what is being visually portrayed in some parts, particularly when characters are talking; there is no reverberation off of metal or plastic when Obi Wan Kenobi is talking to Padmé in the spacious hospital room full of plastics and metal, he sounds more like he is in a closed environment, and close to the microphone. Despite this the soundscape is still used to effectively shape the environment seen on screen into a "hallucination" of a fully real world, one is able to almost sense and touch within one's mind. Most evidently at the very end scene when Darth Vader is overcome by anguish at the revelation that he killed Padmé. Do you remember how anxious you were to find batteries so you could play with your new toy? In this Duracell commercial a young boy receives a toy light saber like the ones used in Star Wars. As the boy opens up the box to his new light saber, he finds that batteries are not included. He then races upstairs to his bedroom and finds Duracell batteries. After putting in the Duracell batteries into his Star Wars Light Saber, suddenly his whole house and neighborhood turns into a Star Wars battlefield. Star Wars, though it has a larger fan base, is not necessarily the reigning champion when it comes to storylines, nor is Star Trek the winner with its scientific background and hopeful prospects of the future. Ranging from painful cash–grabs to satisfying tie–ins, film–inspired games usually appear the afterthought of the Hollywood marketing process. But Star Wars: the Force Awakens isn't a fairly large franchise film, and these are by no means normal circumstances. A little under a month ahead of what could quite possibly be the biggest cinematic release of all time, we fans have not just a shameless tie–in but a fully–fledged reboot of one of the most loved franchises in Star Wars' enormous gaming catalogue. And while that may be as much a result of rose–tinted nostalgia and remarkably consistent marketing of Disney as it is anything else, EA DICE's Star Wars Battlefront has quite some expectations to meet now it's finally here. As you more than likely know by now, Star Wars Battlefront is an entirely multiplayer–focused game. Star Wars Mythology In the film, The Mythology of Star Wars with George Lucas and Bill Moyers, the storyline of Star Wars was analyzed to showcase the myths and traditions that were present in the films. The film had some universal themes that we see in classic mythology; a few being the issues we have with friendship, the obligations we share with others, and our destiny. George Luca stated that he was "telling an old myth in a new way" when referring to the movie series, and it's made visible through his work. For Lucas, he believes that all religions true, it just "sees a different part" in higher powers. Religion allows people to be balanced, like how Luke must feel balanced to use the force. • 45. Antigone, Star Wars, and the Good Life Sophocles's play Antigone promotes a good life that, through careful analysis, is very similar to the Stoic theory of the good life. Antigone is a story about the members of the ancient Theban aristocracy vying for control of themselves and others; however, in its core it contains an exploration of the good life, that is trying to investigate what values will allow one to get what they want out of life. A group of philosophers, also of Greek origin, produced a theory of this topic; this group of thinkers is called the Stoics. Concerning the good life they had two main values, from which they believe a good life can originate. The first of the two is finding happiness from inner resources, or trying not to depend on things around you such as wealth or adventure to give you a sense of happiness. The second facet is that of not worrying about things that are out of your control, as there is no use. Antigone brings to stage these topics, and shows characters who either live according to them, and exit with a good life, and others who deny these, and end the play living in a bad life. Therefore the play shows through example, that Stoic values will lead to a positive way of living, and living against the values will lead to you not getting everything out of life. Another thing that it impacted was Thane because seeing that made him realize that what they are doing is wrong so he ended up abandoning his post and escaping from the clutches of the empire. Darth Vader is one of the leaders of the galactic empire he was the deciding factor when he had the Death Star destroy Tatooine. The Storm troopers and Darth Vader found and captured Princess Leia who is a leader of the rebel alliance and the Princess of Tatooine. Darth Vader's name is Anakin Skywalker, he was originally a jedi and he eventually turned evil and became an apprentice of Emperor Palpatine and was given the name Darth ... Among such movie is the Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Many have reviewed it positively based on its budget and popularity but whereas it might deserve such positive reviews, the fact that the movie is overrated is evident since there are many rip offs, poor cinematography and many other cinematic flaws. To start with, having watched the whole sequel of the Star Wars. The Star Wars; the Force Awakens is one that embarrasses the most as it does nether live the hype it had during production nor improve where the previous episodes left. Apart from enhanced both video scenes and enhanced sound effects, the movies are more of a repetition of the earlier episode. As a matter of fact, the movie seems to lack originality and can hence be termed as one plagiarized from its predecessors. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, this is not the case with the Star Wars: The Force Awakens episode as the filmmakers seem to miss the point of developing the personal journeys of the new movies lead. As a matter of fact, the scenes where Kylo and Rey are having their final battles are more less than developed since letting Rey defeat Kylo with a relative easy battle in more than one way demean the latter's character who should have been given a more serious and hard to defeat role (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, ... • 63. Star Wars Effects One of the reasons creating Star Wars was so hard was because of the technology available, or lack thereof. Even Lucas said, "There was no special effects companies in those days and the studios' special effects department had been disbanded. Part of the was because of the expense, and part of it was that the American taste, the culture had gone toward very realistic–looking films." (Empire of Dreams) But Lucas was determined and "In many cases, the equipment and techniques to realize what Lucas envisioned did not exist yet; they would have to be invented." (Clark 43) So in 1975, Lucas created a visual effects company and hired John Dykstra, a talented special effects artist, to head the company which he named ILM, or Industrial Light & Magic. ILM spurred from Star Wars and is still renowned today for having some of the best special effects in the industry. One of the things they created was called the Dystraflex, "The world's first digital computer–controlled camera system, it was capable of precise and repeatable movement, giving the filmmakers far more control in, among other areas, their work with miniatures." (Elhefnawy 52) Or, as John Dykstra put it, "We took the concept of motion control ... and we made it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To get the films crucial special effects back on track, Lucas had no choice but to step in personally." (Empire of Dreams) Unfortunately this caused his health to fail. That movie was soon followed by a series of mind bending movies that captured the hearts and minds of generations up to this day. From light saber duels to the destructive power of the Death Star, Star Wars is one movie saga that we are all familiar with. But how did this captivating series come to be? How did it all begin? From their philosophies to the way they do battle to the way the dress, the powerful Jedi Knights of the Star Wars galaxy have clear parallelisms with our galaxy's Samurais. Examples of these parallelisms are the robes that the Jedi used are quite similar to the robes that the Samurai used, another one is the Japanese katana that the Samurais used in battle and the Light Saber that the Jedi used to keep the peace. George Lucas also borrowed ideas from other samurai movies such as Sanjuro and Yojimbo both by Akira Kurosawa. Apart from having Asian origins, Star Wars also has Western background. One of the earliest science fiction graphic novels known to man is Flash Gordon. It's clear why George Lucas took some of Flash Gordon's concepts and applied it with his own films. Flash Gordon however, also borrowed it's concepts with an even earlier sci–fi comic strip: Buck Rogers. One of the clearest similarities between Star Wars and Flash Gordon is the signature "roll–up" that is present in the start of every Star Wars movie. One less noticeable similarity is the "vocabulary" of Flash Gordon (which was also taken from Buck Rogers). Since Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers were the only ones that mentioned of futuristic space travel and intergalactic battles, George Lucas based the vocabulary of Star Wars on these two science fiction works of his time. The technology and the gadgets of Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers were also of great influence ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 73. Review Of ' Movie ' Star Wars ' Hunter Keane Dr. Jarrod Whitaker Ritual Studies October 5, 2015 Untitled Jedi Paper When George Lucas released Star Wars in 1977, it would be reasonable to assume he possessed some level of expectations regarding how his film saga would affect and alter the lives of its audience. What he may not have anticipated, however, is that his fictional protagonists, the Jedi Order, and their respective philosophies would resonate so strongly within particular individuals to such an extent that it would provide the foundation for the establishment of a new interpretation of reality; this philosophical movement is perceived by many as a religious movement and, to some extent, a new religion in and of itself. Today, the church of "Jediism" is said to have accumulated thousands of followers across the globe and is recorded as being the seventh– largest religion in the United Kingdom (DailyMail). While there is speculation that the census results which produced these figures may be inconclusive due to insincere responses, it is widely accepted that Jediism is a very real concept for many groups of individuals, one that affects their philosophical outlook as well as their everyday life. The church of Jediism is composed of many different groups who share similar philosophies yet have slight variations in the articulations of their doctrines. The remainder of this paper will focus specifically on the organization identified as "Jedi Living" or "Jedi Academy Online" and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Yoda could also have been added to make the rest of the jedi relaxed in a tense moment and makes jokes like, " Lost a planet, Master Obi Wan has. How embarrassing." (Wrede 79). • 77. Star Wars Essay Few great filmmakers can write and oversee the production of a film that will be relevant and built upon for the next 4 decades. Even fewer filmmakers can be regarded as the person who changed cinema forever. George Lucas did all of this in 1977 with the release of the film he created, originally called, "The Star Wars." He had this idea after his first feature length film "American Graffiti" in 1973. This film became popular and he later pitched his idea for a space opera to the production company. They agreed and Star Wars was born. In the beginning, it was meant to be one film, which would entail all of the story for the three films in the original trilogy, A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. This shows that the franchise has grown into one of the largest players in toy sales as well as revenue product. It is evident that when a single franchise, Star Wars, is available in every single one of these big name players in some form, that the franchise holds one of the largest impacts on society. The revenue coming from these sources is immense, usually averaging out to more than the original ticket sales for the films. These toys and games, intended for children, are even still relevant to those who are now adults because Star Wars is comparable to a legacy. It is passed down from generation to generation and the ones passing down the franchise are having revitalizing feelings from reminiscing upon the past. One of the main reasons many older fans are still following the later expansions of the film collections is because of the nostalgic experience. Star Wars can now be found anywhere today.
