I am writing to outline the skills, knowledge and expertise I have gained as a Painter and Blaster, competent
in all aspects of paints, spraying, shot blasting, hydro blasting and surface blasting. I believe I possess the
required capabilities and vital expertise necessary to make a very significant and beneficial contribution to
your organisation.
I am a highly self motivated, extremely hard working and adaptable individual. As you will note from my
enclosed CV, I have been working as a Sub Contractor and Painter / Blaster for Eriks International
Engineering since 2011, where I have undertaken a number of projects covering the engineering and
maintenance, repair and operational solutions to the offshore industry. Consistently working in line with
OPITO standards, I have been responsible for preparing surfaces and carrying out toolbox talks and risk
assessments, adhering to HS2BA and SHEQ guidelines.
In addition, I have undertaken numerous hours of rope access at different sites, carrying out rope-to-rope
access, abseiling, rigging Y hangs, rope edge protection, horizontal aid climbing and straight drops, among
others. I also have an in-depth knowledge in a variety of high performing paints and primers utilised on a
numerous structures, such as ships and offshore structures. Prior to this, I was in a self employed
partnership responsible for providing a high quality painting and decorating service, ensuring the provision of
an exceptional customer service at all times.
Other experience has been gained as a Painter and Decorator for TW Decorators; throughout my
experiences to date I have developed a commitment and dedication to completing all tasks and assignments
within set timeframes, budgets and to a high quality standard. I have also undertaken numerous
professional development courses ranging from Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training
(BOSIET Certified), Minimum Industry Safety Training (MIST Certified) and Health & Safety on Site (CSCS)
to Rope Access (Level 1) (IRATA), Painter & Blaster (Level 1) (OPITO) and Banksman / Slinger.
Additionally, I have a safe proven track record in utilising Abrasive Blast Equipment, HVLP (High Volume Low
Pressure) and Airless Spray Guns and I have heights and in confined spaces experience. I also possess a
wealth of transferable skills, including time management, organisation, planning, decision making, problem
