2. Career Summary
I have enjoyed a progressive offshore career in the past four years rising to a position of HSE Advisor &
Barge Supervisor. I am relied upon by management and colleagues to effectively manage all aspects of
construction & marine operations, as well as the responsibility and management for the entirety of the
sites health and safety.
January 2012 - Present HSE Advisor & Barge Supervisor Jack Up Barge Operations
I started working within the offshore wind construction industry in January 2012 in Germany. It was
during this time that I enhanced my skills experienced during my time in the marine industry as a safety
officer and embraced the offshore HSE regulations and working practises.
In my current position, I have been working on a platform in the Irish Sea on an offshore oil and gas
construction project with ENI and EOG resources. Before starting the project I was responsible for the
training of crew and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all UK offshore
regulations and develop a safe and efficient working environment for all personnel.
Within my role as HSE advisor I am responsible for all aspects of leading and managing barge team and
operations –this includes but is not limited to:
Liaising with departments to plan, inspect and audit work activities,
Host and lead audits (internal, clients and authorities),
Advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances,
noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases,
Responsible for the establishment, auditing and updating of HSE policy,
procedures and code of practise in accordance with local authorities, regulations
and company guidelines,
Permit Controller,
COSHH Co-ordinator,
Initiating and reviewing risk assessments,
Recording of incidents and accidents and the distribution to all relevant
personnel and authorities,
Site based training and guidance for all personnel,
Onshore and offshore company meetings to represent the offshore workforce,
Working with the client to ensure an effective working relationship.

Upon completion of HND studies and licence examination acquired role involving working across Europe
and Middle East, working in wide range of environments projects and roles. Promoted to Mate position
following successful completion of two trips. Throughout this time I held the position as safety officer.
3. Sep 2007 - Jun 2011 Deck Cadet Klyne Tugs
Responsible for learning and performing all deck and navigational duties aboard ship under supervision
of deck officer, observing loading and unloading of cargo holds learning methods of handling and
stowing cargo, inspecting lifesaving equipment for defects, standing watch as and when required. Role
complemented studies undertaken in Warsash Maritime academy. It was during this time that I studied
as safety officer on board as this was considered a dual role within my sector of the marine industry.
