It is not easy to define corruption. Butin a narrow sense, corruption is mostlyconcerned with bribery and it takesseveral forms. Corruption is a globalphenomenon and it is omnipresent.Corruption has progressively increasedand is now rampant in our society.

The old ideals of morality, serviceand honesty are regarded as an achromatic. In a highly inflationary economy, low salaries ofgovernment officials compel them to resort to the roadof corruption. Graduates from IIMs with no experiencedraw a far handsome salary than what governmentsecretaries draw.Election time is a time when corruption is at its peaklevel. Big industrialist fund politicians to meet high costof election and ultimately to seek personal favor.Bribery to politicians buys influence, and bribery bypoliticians buys votes. In order to getelected, politicians bribe poor illiterate people, who areslogging for two times meal.
