1- Subjectivity of the Article i.e. (e.g. biases
,assumptions, noise
Marc Prensky opens his "Digital Natives,
Digital Immigrants"(2001) by stating that the
problem with education today is that “Our
students have changed radically. Today’s
students are no longer the people our
educational system was designed to teach".
He clearly thinks that traditional education
cannot meet the needs and inclinations of
the new digital immigrants. According to
Prensky what's done is done, and that the
Digital Natives cannot and will not go back to
traditional ways of thinking and learning.
2- Objectivity of the article (logic, neutral
position)
Prensky doesn’t remain neutral in the article he
gives his clear view on today’s education
dilemma.
He suggests that Education System should
change and adapt to the new technology.

3- Identify the author’s main point and purpose.
The author’s main point is that brains of digital natives
(people who have grown up with technology readily at
their fingertips) are possibly vastly different than those of
digital immigrants (people whose technology skills have
been acquired at a later age in life).
His purpose is to shed light on the differences between the
two groups so that both digital immigrants and digital
natives understand themselves and the other group better.
This understanding can increase effective communication
and contribute to harmony at home, enhance satisfaction
and increase the quality of learning and mutual
understanding in educational institutions
4- Identify the authors main
audience (i.e. receiver of
the message)
Any educational
Institutions, teachers,
parents and students

5- Arguments and evidence the Author uses to support his main points (message)
Prensky argues that the gap between digital natives and digital immigrants is the fundamental
cause of the alleged "decline of education in the US," and he claims that the current educational
system has not been designed to serve today's students.
The solution Prensky proposes is for today's teachers to learn the language of the natives, to
speed up instruction, and to provide "random access" (page 4). He argues for a new way of
looking at educational content as well. A category that he calls "legacy content" consists of
traditional subjects such as reading, writing, and logical thinking; "future content" is "digital and
technological," including such subjects as "software, hardware, robotics, nanotechnology and
genomics" as well as the "ethics, politics, sociology, languages, and other things that go with
them" (page 5).
Projects : We ran workshops for our peer colleagues within Dublin office, America and Asia. We presented to our colleagues the objective of the projects, we trained them on the new strategy of Microsoft to serve better our customers and change the mindset. I used my analytical skills to come up with new ideas on the survey report process and how the global CPE team can work with this report with the World Wide CPE project manager. We worked on a separate project to simplify the process and make it beneficial for our teams.

1- Subjectivity of the Article i.e. (e.g. biases ,assumptions, noise
The article is subjective as the author shares his experience and the reporting of a survey on generational differences regarding perceived usefulness of technology in training programs.
3- Identify the author’s main point and purpose.
Education today rests on the assumption that learners are the same as they ever were. This is according to Prensky no longer a valid assumption. Traditional education cannot meet the needs of the new digital immigrants. The author thinks that what's done is done, and that the Digital Natives cannot and will not go back to traditional ways of thinking and learning.
