Ergonomics
Definition : Ergonomics defines from two Greek words ergon means work and nomoi means a
natural laws, to create a word that means the science of work and a person’s relationship to that
work. It is a term thrown around by health professionals and marketing mavens with a cavalier
attitude. For some it has a very specific meaning.
The scientific discipline concerned with the understanding of interactions among humans and
other elements of a system, and the profession that applies theory, principles, data and methods
to design in order to optimize human well-being and overall system performance. It is the attempt
to make work better that ergonomics becomes so useful. And that is also where making things
comfortable and efficient comes into play.
Ergonomics is commonly thought of in terms of products. But it can be equally useful in the
design of services or processes.
Implementation
Developing and Implementing an Ergonomics Process and is written from the stand point of the
early stages of initiating a process. The procedure begins with someone identifying the need and
approaching management for support than the champion. Typically, the champion should gather
data to provide management with justification for the project. Some of these topics were
addressed in Section but are reiterated here to provide an overview of the entire strategy or plan
of implementing a process. Once management has agreed to support the project, a sponsor is
selected from upper management. The corporate office sponsor is responsible for writing a
project charter that recognizes the business need for implementing an ergonomics process . The
charter will provide written documentation of management’s commitment to the project, stating
that safety and health is as important as production. Management should identify the appropriate
cost account for the project and give an estimated budget for implementation. Management
should also choose or recruit the project manager early in these stages so he or she may
participate in the planning process. The champion may be assigned the position of project
manager or another candidate may be recruited to fill the position. Depending on the
organizational structure there may also be facility project managers. The charter should also
provide for the formation of a multi-functional ergonomics team. Depending on the size of the
company, there may be a committee at each facility. Management should provide documented
authority to the manager and should authorize time and money expenditures for the committee. It
is the responsibility of the project manager to assign and communicate responsibilities to the
project . The ergonomics initiative is typically part of the health and safety department or the
engineering department. In addition to the creation of the committee, management should outline
its position on ergonomics in other areas.
For example, ergonomics should be a consideration for all new product designs, tools, new
facilities, new processes, etc. Communication systems should be defined, as well as the required
reports and their distribution. The corporate office sponsor should serve as the management
liaison to the ergonomic project manager.

Here some tips to keeping the customers in mind
1.Consider the level of need your customers is trying to meet, and market your product or service
in such a way that it will fulfil exactly that need
2. Perform evaluation of your marketing efforts because your target group may change
3.Quality is better than quantity. Unfortunately it is not so that the more people you reach the
more business you will grt. Pick your target group , meet their need and you will have
respondents taht are much more likely to actually be looking for your product or service
4.invest in a tool that can help your organize your customer data enable you to perform targeted
marketing . To meet different needs you have communicate to right target with right message.

This is the report for the Policy Outcome Research Grant “The Impacts and Outcomes of
Welfare Reform across Rural Places in Kentucky” from the U.S. Department of Health and
Human Services, Administration for Families and Children. This research represents the unique
collaboration of the Cooperative Extension System and Agricultural Experiment.
At present we have so much of development on electronic to do their works on the machines in
the use of Embeded systems.
Technology has mechanized agriculture: Modern agricultural technology allows a small number
of people to grow vast quantities of food in a short period of time with less input which results
into high yields and RIO ”return on investment”. Through government subsidies, small and
medium sized farmers have managed to acquire ploughing, sowing, watering and harvesting
machines. The use of technology in agriculture has also resulted into the manufacturing of
genetic crops which can grow fast and they can be resistant to many pests and diseases. Also
farmers have access to artificial fertilizers which add value to the soil and boost the growth of
their crops and enable them to produce high quality yields. Farmers in dry areas have been in
position to grow healthy crops, they use advanced water pumps and sprinklers which derive
water from rivers to the farms, the all process can be automated to save time. A good example is
Egypt , this is a desert country which receives little rain , but small and big farmers have used
automated sprinklers to irrigate their farms. In Egypt, they grow a lot of rice, yet this crop needs
sufficient water to grow well.
Adding to the growing body of knowledge surrounding welfare reform and its impacts, this
research examines the differential impact for rural and urban areas as well as across rural areas in
the state of Kentucky.

Global positioning system (GPS) :
The GPS provides guidance to the user in giving the details of location to reach the destination
from any location to any other location. GPS has revolutionized concept , through it started
primarily as a navigation marine, military and social applications .
GPS is a satellite based radio navigation system provide precise three dimensional position ,
navigation and time information to suitably equipped users every where it has been undert
development in usa since 1973.Totaly it consist of 24 satillites in the around the gobal to coverd
the 3 dimensions .
At the least 4 satillites are available for observations for positioning in on ground or sea or air at
any time throughout the year any where in the world .GPS receives have been developed to
observer signals transmitted by the satellites and achieve sub meters accured in a point
positioning and a few centimetre in a arelative position.
1.day and night operation
2.all weather conditions
3.distance upto thousand of kilometres can be measured
4.fast and economic
GPS technology can be described in terms of three segments:
• Space Segment. Consists of twenty-four satellites orbiting 11,000 nautical miles above the
earth.
• Control Segment. Consists of 5 ground stations around the globe that manage the operational
health of the satellites by transmitting orbital corrections and clock updates.
• User Segment. Consists of various types of GPS receivers that can vary in complexity and
sophistication. This segment is what most people are familiar with; examples include the
navigation system in a car, or the GPS device in a cell phone.

1 ans ErgonomicsDefinition Ergonomics defines from two Greek .pdf

  • 1. 1 ans : Ergonomics Definition : Ergonomics defines from two Greek words ergon means work and nomoi means a natural laws, to create a word that means the science of work and a person’s relationship to that work. It is a term thrown around by health professionals and marketing mavens with a cavalier attitude. For some it has a very specific meaning. The scientific discipline concerned with the understanding of interactions among humans and other elements of a system, and the profession that applies theory, principles, data and methods to design in order to optimize human well-being and overall system performance. It is the attempt to make work better that ergonomics becomes so useful. And that is also where making things comfortable and efficient comes into play. Ergonomics is commonly thought of in terms of products. But it can be equally useful in the design of services or processes. Implementation Developing and Implementing an Ergonomics Process and is written from the stand point of the early stages of initiating a process. The procedure begins with someone identifying the need and approaching management for support than the champion. Typically, the champion should gather data to provide management with justification for the project. Some of these topics were addressed in Section but are reiterated here to provide an overview of the entire strategy or plan of implementing a process. Once management has agreed to support the project, a sponsor is selected from upper management. The corporate office sponsor is responsible for writing a project charter that recognizes the business need for implementing an ergonomics process . The charter will provide written documentation of management’s commitment to the project, stating that safety and health is as important as production. Management should identify the appropriate cost account for the project and give an estimated budget for implementation. Management should also choose or recruit the project manager early in these stages so he or she may participate in the planning process. The champion may be assigned the position of project manager or another candidate may be recruited to fill the position. Depending on the organizational structure there may also be facility project managers. The charter should also provide for the formation of a multi-functional ergonomics team. Depending on the size of the company, there may be a committee at each facility. Management should provide documented authority to the manager and should authorize time and money expenditures for the committee. It is the responsibility of the project manager to assign and communicate responsibilities to the project . The ergonomics initiative is typically part of the health and safety department or the engineering department. In addition to the creation of the committee, management should outline
  • 2. its position on ergonomics in other areas. For example, ergonomics should be a consideration for all new product designs, tools, new facilities, new processes, etc. Communication systems should be defined, as well as the required reports and their distribution. The corporate office sponsor should serve as the management liaison to the ergonomic project manager. 2 ans: Here some tips to keeping the customers in mind 1.Consider the level of need your customers is trying to meet, and market your product or service in such a way that it will fulfil exactly that need 2. Perform evaluation of your marketing efforts because your target group may change 3.Quality is better than quantity. Unfortunately it is not so that the more people you reach the more business you will grt. Pick your target group , meet their need and you will have respondents taht are much more likely to actually be looking for your product or service 4.invest in a tool that can help your organize your customer data enable you to perform targeted marketing . To meet different needs you have communicate to right target with right message. Chapter 4 1 ans: This is the report for the Policy Outcome Research Grant “The Impacts and Outcomes of Welfare Reform across Rural Places in Kentucky” from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Families and Children. This research represents the unique collaboration of the Cooperative Extension System and Agricultural Experiment. At present we have so much of development on electronic to do their works on the machines in the use of Embeded systems. Technology has mechanized agriculture: Modern agricultural technology allows a small number of people to grow vast quantities of food in a short period of time with less input which results into high yields and RIO ”return on investment”. Through government subsidies, small and medium sized farmers have managed to acquire ploughing, sowing, watering and harvesting machines. The use of technology in agriculture has also resulted into the manufacturing of genetic crops which can grow fast and they can be resistant to many pests and diseases. Also farmers have access to artificial fertilizers which add value to the soil and boost the growth of their crops and enable them to produce high quality yields. Farmers in dry areas have been in position to grow healthy crops, they use advanced water pumps and sprinklers which derive water from rivers to the farms, the all process can be automated to save time. A good example is Egypt , this is a desert country which receives little rain , but small and big farmers have used automated sprinklers to irrigate their farms. In Egypt, they grow a lot of rice, yet this crop needs sufficient water to grow well.
  • 3. Adding to the growing body of knowledge surrounding welfare reform and its impacts, this research examines the differential impact for rural and urban areas as well as across rural areas in the state of Kentucky. 2 ans: Global positioning system (GPS) : The GPS provides guidance to the user in giving the details of location to reach the destination from any location to any other location. GPS has revolutionized concept , through it started primarily as a navigation marine, military and social applications . GPS is a satellite based radio navigation system provide precise three dimensional position , navigation and time information to suitably equipped users every where it has been undert development in usa since 1973.Totaly it consist of 24 satillites in the around the gobal to coverd the 3 dimensions . At the least 4 satillites are available for observations for positioning in on ground or sea or air at any time throughout the year any where in the world .GPS receives have been developed to observer signals transmitted by the satellites and achieve sub meters accured in a point positioning and a few centimetre in a arelative position. 1.day and night operation 2.all weather conditions 3.distance upto thousand of kilometres can be measured 4.fast and economic GPS technology can be described in terms of three segments: • Space Segment. Consists of twenty-four satellites orbiting 11,000 nautical miles above the earth. • Control Segment. Consists of 5 ground stations around the globe that manage the operational health of the satellites by transmitting orbital corrections and clock updates. • User Segment. Consists of various types of GPS receivers that can vary in complexity and sophistication. This segment is what most people are familiar with; examples include the navigation system in a car, or the GPS device in a cell phone.
