The document discusses Kamala Das' poetry and its expression of personal and public experiences through a confessional style. It explores themes of agony, frustration, and disillusionment in her work, especially regarding relationships and sexuality. Das reveals her secret thoughts and feelings to give insight into the feminine poetic sensibility and experience. Her poetry is analyzed to understand how silence and loneliness transform into sexual obsession when soul-love is frustrated.
1. Cuss Language Research Paper
Is it necessary to continue using "cuss words" and "profanity" as a negative impact? I'm asking this
question because the general or present definitions of these words lead to insults, racism, sexism,
and overall; discrimination. I'm going to talk about the research on how these words became this
way and originated over the years. I'm also going to talk about others views and opinions on
whether or not curse words should be a thing. (4 sentences) How a word gets that way: According to
the site; "SLATE", they say that the Federal appeal panel says; " The FCC (federal communication

3. Human Capital And Non Physical Capital
It is well known that unmeasured cross–country differences in human capital reveal as cross–
country differences in TFP, but it is still hotly debated for how much human capital can account.
Mankiw, Romer and Weil (1992) emphasize the importance of investment in human capital and
claim that the Solow growth model augmented to involve human capital can account for most of the
variation in differences in output per capita. On the other hand, several recent works provide
different conclusion, for example, Manuelli and Seshadri (2005) argue that most cross countries
differences in output per worker are not affected by differences in human capital (or physical
capital) but might be affected by differences in residual, total factor productivity (TFP).
This paper tends to summaries the main arguments and approaches of Mankiw, Rome and Weil
(1992, MRW hereafter) and Manuelli and Seshadri (2005, MS hereafter), also compares and contrast
their main findings. Finally, the paper will give some brief comments and criticisms on these two
papers.
Motivation and intuition of MRW
It is well known that the Solow Model is the first neoclassical growth model, while recent findings
and corollaries are not entirely preferable due to some uneasiness. For example, Solow Model can
qualitatively but not quantitively analyze the impact on growth path of two exogenous variables:
saving rate and population growth. In addition to this, Solow Model predicts absolute convergence
across countries with

5. The Mitochondrion: Eukaryotic Cells
Introduction
Mitochondria
The Mitochondrion is an organelle surrounded by an outer and inner membrane, it is found is most
eukaryotic cells and it is the site of aerobic cellular respiration.
Most of activities inside the mitochondrion take place near or in the mitochondrial inner membrane,
it is the outer membrane which controls what enter and what leaves the organelle.
The mitochondrial outer membrane has similarities with the cell's own membrane, it separates the
mitochondrion from the rest of the cell, exactly like the cell's membrane. It is composed of a double
phospholipid bilayer with inserted proteins that regulate what goes into and out the mitochondrion
and make it selectively permeable which means that the mitochondrial outer membrane

7. Advantage And Disadvantage Of Inverter
Abstract –A novel interleaved dual buck full–bridge three–level inverter (IDBFTI) is proposed for
the grid–connected system
in this paper. It retains the advantages of interleaved parallel technology for inverter as follows:
reducing the output ripple current and the total harmonic distortion of the output current, increasing
the power density of system, and reducing the current stress and thermal stress of power devices.
Besides, it can solve the problem of zero sequence circulation current (ZSCC) in interleaved inverter
system by the circuit structure, and it also has the advantages of no shoot–through problem, no
reverse recovery of the body diode, and three–level output. The interleaved inverter circuits share
two power–frequency switches, which are resized for each specific application, and it is easier to
extend the system by improving current capability of the two switches. The working principle of this
system is introduced in detail and a 2 kW experimental prototype has been established and tested.
Test results verify the principle and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Here, the interleaved half–bridge inverter is taken for example to analyze the path of circulation
current. As shown in Fig.6, when the interleaved parallel strategy is used, switch S1 of half–bridge
inverter A and the switch S4 of half–bridge inverter B can conduct during the interval [t0, t1] in
Fig.7. When working in discontinuous current mode, the inverter will generate circulation current
ibias (ibias=iL2), which flows through two half–bridge inverters, and the current iL2 of half–bridge
inverter B is reversed, so the current flowing through the load io (io =iL1+iL2) will be reduced
relatively. Consequently there will be several problems such as additional power losses, lower
efficiency, and increased device stress. However, switch S1 of IDBFTI just works in the positive
half–cycle of output current and switch Sb of IDBFTI is opposite, so they will

9. Genetic Mutagenesis Screen
Question 1
(1A) Design a forward genetic mutagenesis screen, in a fly or rodent model, that would allow you to
identify genes required for proper axon guidance. Discuss the main steps involved in this approach.
Question: Which genes are required for proper axonal guidance of the mesolimbic and/or
nigrostriatal dopamine pathways in the mouse?
Brief background: In mice, the first DA neuron neurites appear at E11.5. These neurites extend
towards the striatum, forming the medial forebrain bundle (MFB), the main neural tract connecting
ventral tegmental area (VTA) and the substantia nigra (SNc) to the striatum. At E14.5 the DA
neurites approach the border of ventrolateral ganglionic eminence (VM). These neurites then
multiply without further ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Perform complementation analysis to determine if the generated mutation is unique or has been
previously described. To perform the analysis, I would mate the mutants I produced with known
mouse lines which have null mutations in genes known to be important for DA neuron axon
guidance (DCC–/–, Nkx2.1–/–, Pax6–/–, Slit1–/–, Robo1–/– ). If WT phenotype is produced by the
cross, the mutations are in 2 different genes. If the offspring shows mutant phenotype, the mutation
might occur in the same gene (Hegarty, Sullivan et al. 2013).
5. Perform linkage analysis to map the gene. This technique is used to relatively position gene of
interest in relationship to the known gene. For this analysis I would have to pick genes which
produce different phenotype from the one seen in the mutants generated in my experiment. The
mutants generated are then mated with this known mutant of a different phenotype and both traits
are examined in the offspring. In the offspring produce both phenotypes, the genes may be near each
other and are inherited together.
6. One the location of the gene is determined, the gene is then cloned (design primers and PCR the
gene, insert gene into a vector). Cloning of the gene will allow for future experiments in which the
gene can be manipulated in vitro or in

" You know, it isn't normally I see you like this. Why do you avoid Amerika and the other four?" the
Russian asked curiously, slightly taking your hand.
" I don't avoid them.....or at least I'm not able to.." You replied, taking your hand back. You were

The poetry of Kamala Das has the unique place in Indian poetry in English particularly written by
women poets. She has developed the feminine poetic sensibility. There is an expression of her
personal and public experiences in her poetry. The ideas, which she has expressed in her poems and
in her autobiography, My Story, appear to be similar. She has written a great deal of inward –

gratification of her animal desire for sex. The Freaks paints a rather helpless situation when the man
is passive and the woman is burning with desire but she becomes helpless. She can't find the real
love except sex and lust in her husband. Actually she is hungry for the real love, but she is deprived
of this. As a result, she is tired of her life. "Kamala Das' love–relationship is a complex phenomenon
which involves tensions of different kinds. The basic tension is caused by her failure to get love in
abundance which for her is synonymous with spiritual fulfilment." (Amga, H.L., 2000:169) The fact
that she is able to make this fine discrimination between love and lust in male–dominated society, it
makes her realize that she is a freak.

The Portuguese Azores archipelago (36°55'–39°45' N, and 25°–31°15'W) comprises nine islands
and several islets in the North Atlantic Ocean (Fig. 1). The islands are of volcanic origin, having
arisen along sea–floor fracture zones as the Eurasian, African and North American tectonic plates
rifted apart. The oldest rocks in the archipelago are found on the easternmost island, Santa Maria,
and date to 8.12 million years ago (Azevedo and Ferreira, 2006). Owing to their volcanic origin, the
islands of the Azores are pock–marked with craters and calderas. Soils are generally young andisols,
formed under the humid climate on relatively recent lava flows, and pyroclastic deposits (Dias,

31. Statistical Hypothesis Test
Question 1 A t– test is a statistical hypothesis test in which the test statistic follows a t–distribution if
the null hypothesis is acknowledged. Besides, it is widely used in situations whereby the test
statistic follow a normal distribution and the value of a scaling term in the test statistic are known.
Null hypothesis μ = 39 Alternative hypothesis μ 39 From this analytic calculation it is clear that
both the null and alternative hypotheses constitute a one–tailed test. The null hypothesis will be
rejected if the sample mean is too small. For this analysis, the significance level is 0.01. The test
method is a one sample t–test. t– Test = difference between the means Variance Sample size =
13.41–12.38 3.38 40 = 1.03 3.38 40 = 0.007618 Since we have a one tailed test, the t–value is the
probability that the t–score having 39 degrees of freedom is greater than –0.894 so there is no need
to use the t–distribution calculator to find the value of t. The degree of freedom (DF) is equal to the
sample size (n) minus one. Thus, DF = n – 1.Since the t–value (0.007) is lower than the significance
level (0.01), we therefore reject the null hypothesis and pick the alternative hypothesis. Besides, this
approach is appropriate because the sampling method is a simple random sampling, and the
population is normally distributed. Question 2 Dependent samples also known as paired t–tests
consist of a group of units that has been tested twice. Dependent t–tests

Incomplete and Misleading Information
Leading medical professionals have believed strongly that the public are not receiving enough
information to make a decision on having robotic surgery as opposed to laparoscopic surgery.
Laparoscopic surgery is performed on the abdomen or pelvis. The promotional materials,
researchers report online in the Journal for Healthcare Quality, overestimate the benefits of surgical
robots, largely ignore the risks and are strongly influenced by the product's manufacturer.
The public regards a hospital's official website as an authoritative source of medical information in
the voice of a physician," says Marty Makary, M.D., M.P.H., an associate professor of surgery at the
Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the study's leader.

46. Values in Pindar Essay
Values in Pindar
Pindar was composing his poetry at the start of the fifth century B.C. at a similar time to Aeschylus,
and as much as three centuries after the completion of Homer's works. The values he displays,
however, do not seem to have developed since the time of Homer; Pindar's ethics are those of a
shame–culture, and in this way thoroughly Homeric. They are aristocratic, favouring the strong,
powerful ruler over the weak and dominated. Wealth and prosperity are praised, not frowned upon.
Nietzsche approved of Pindar's praise of the strong, be they tyrants or athletes (or indeed both), and
conversely disapproved of the way Socrates later denied the good to be had in strength and power. ...

Pindar states that there is a something "greater than wealth", a glory that surpasses all things
material. Honour in Homer is represented in a concrete manner through material prizes, but for
Pindar the wealth that comes from victory is not itself the source of joy: the joy is external.
Furthermore, while Pindar does not scorn wealth and the aristocracy, he does see greed and over–
ambition in a highly negative light. Tantalus was greatly honoured by the gods:

However, he was not satisfied with his m¡gan ölbon, and was overpowered by greed, stealing

drinking companions – and for this he was punished. The result of his greed is suffering: ¦xei d'

the movie is based about a young male named Tre' who was sent to live with his father in South

As the movie starts, it talks about two statistics that I found extremely interesting. The first statistic
that was put up on screen said one out of every twenty one black American males will be murdered
in their lifetime. The next statistic said that most will die at the hands of another black man. At the
beginning of the movie it starts off with a little young boy named Tre' that lived with his mother.
After starting a fight in school, his mom had enough of his actions and Tre' voided his contract with
him mom saying he wouldn't get into any more fights. His mom sent Tre' to live with his father in
South Central. Upon arriving at his house he quickly learns the ropes of his father's way of handling
things. Tre' was not there for five minutes and his father had him raking up the leaves in the front
yard. Later on that night his father fills him in on the other rules of the house. This showed me that
there was a good discipline in the house. That type of discipline helped Tre' out in the long run and
changed his life for the better. The theory that I think really explains this movie is the routine
activities theory. This theory talks about three requirements, the first being a suitable target, the
second is absences of capable guardians, and the final being motivated offenders. Growing up Tre'
lived in a neighborhood where suitable targets

Leonardo da Vinci was a true Renaissance man. He was not only an artist; he was also a scientist

about how to paint or draw three–dimensional scenes realistically on a flat surface. He had a keen
eye and noticed that objects looked fuzzier and more blue the farther away they are from the viewer.
He also noticed that the currently accepted linear perspective was flawed in regard to peripheral
objects. Leonardo invented a machine called a perspectogragh to help him achieve the perspective
that resembles what the natural eye sees. Most of his discovery was through observation. He did also

54. The Effect Of Orexin System On Brain Cells Of Different...
Introduction
The orexin system is implicated in many physiological functions such as sleep wakefulness, feeding
and appetite and neuroendocrine regulation. Disturbance of this system can lead to several
pathological conditions for example, narcolepsy, cataplexy and obesity. This system is composed of
two orexin peptides A and B that bind to two receptors; orexin receptor 1 (OX1R) and 2 (OX2R). As
they belong to G protein–coupled receptors (GPCRs), they can share their signalling pathways. In
the recent decade, in many GPCR evidence has accumulated for functional selectivity, the term that
means different agonists (or antagonists) can induce different conformations at the same receptor
and therefore can selectively activate different signalling pathway. Until now, no studies for
differential selectivity of orexin A and B or other antagonists at orexin receptors have been reported.
However, many studies have investigated the different signalling pathways of these receptors in
brain cells of different species and other cell–lines. In order to investigate this functional selectivity
at both orexin receptors, some time will be first taken in this review to discuss the structure,
distribution of orexins and orexin receptors, the different signalling processes and some of orexin
antagonists involved in this system.
Orexin (hypocretin) peptides

Abstract Nuclear Medicine is the branch of medicine concerned with the use of radio–nuclides in
the study and the diagnosis of diseases, eg. the assessment of organ function, detection and
treatment of some diseases or monitoring of treatment's effects. It provides physiological (not

A nucleus is specified by its number of protons Z, number of neutrons N, and the mass number A =
Z+N. The nucleons (protons and neutrons) in a nucleus are bound together – their total energy is less
than the total energy of the separated particles. The binding energy is the amount of energy given up
when the nucleus is formed. Plotting the binding energy per nucleon versus the mass number A
(Figure 1) shows that starting from Hydrogen, nuclei become more stable as there are more protons
and neutrons, until Iron. After that, the trend reverses.

An alternative enzymatic method has been discovered to overcome the limitation of preparation of
chitosan by discovering chitin deacetylases . For production of novel, well–defined chitosan we
have found the use of chitin deacetylases for the conversion of chitin to chitosan, which is in

However, chitosan solution must be free of aggregates, and hence the solvent for chitosan must be
chosen carefully. The viscometric average molecular weight is usually been calculated from intrinsic
viscosity because of the lower impact of small fractions of aggregates, using the Mark–Houwink
relationship. In order to determine K and a parameters, an absolute MW has to be calculated using
light scattering technique and due to high sensitivity to aggregate formation the obtained value is
usually overestimated. These artifacts may be carried out for instance by the use of 0.3M acetic
acid/0.2M sodium acetate (pH = 4.5) solvent which does not form aggregates in this mixture. Under
these conditions, the absolute M values were obtained from steric exclusion chromatography (SEC)
equipped with viscometer and light scattering detector on line allowing to determine the Mark–
Houwink parameters without fractionation and also to obtain the relation between the radius of
gyration (G) and the molecular weight(MW). The K (mL/g) and a parameters at 25 °C are 7.9 ×

Determining the amount of CaCO3 in eggshell of hen's egg

Introduction: The back titration is a method used in determining the amount of excess of the reagent.
The calcium carbonate is a substance which gives the eggshell stiffness.
Research question: What is the amount of calcium carbonate in the eggshell measured by back
titration?

The fact that the result has shown 100% of calcium carbonate in the eggshell may lay in the
construction of eggshell which is biological "machine" to give hen's embryo the best possible
environment for development. Apart from calcium carbonate, there are other components of
eggshell, for example magnesium carbonate and calcium phosphate which also react with
hydrochloric acid.
Reaction of calcium phosphate with hydrochloric acid:
Ca3(PO4)2 + 6HCl → 3CaCl2 + 2H3PO4
this reaction should't have influence on titration that much, because as a result there's the same
number of hydrogen ions which can be neutralized, but the second reaction, of magnesium
carbonate and hydrochloric acid:
MgCO3 + 2HCl → MgCl2 + CO2 + H2O
63. also takes HCl to it's reaction, decreases number of H+ ions and so suggests that more HCl reacted
with calcium carbonate. This is the uncontrolled variable, the impurity of the eggshell, which
affected the result.
Other factor, which may have had influence on the results is the human's imprecision. The used
equipment was as accurate as possible in school laboratory, but still, the titration is made by hand
and by eye, which may make mistakes although back titration is the best possible way in school
laboratory to check the amount of particular components in mixtures. Other method, which would

67. Trend of Malaria in Odisha
Since ancient times, malaria has been posing a grave threat to the mankind in terms of morbidity,
mortality and economic adversity. This infectious disease caused by protozoan parasites from
Plasmodium family and transmitted by female Anopheles mosquitoes, afflicts people from all age
groups across tropical and sub– tropical regions in the world[1]. Presently, malaria is endemic in
104 countries[2].Though, in the past decade the fight against this preventable disease has been
intensified worldwide and as a result , during 2000–2012 the global malarial mortality and incidence
rates have declined by about 42% and 25% respectively; this deadly disease has still inflicted an
estimated 207 million cases and taken 627 000 lives around the world while leaving nearly 3.4
billion people at risk of contracting the infection in 2012[3].
India, being a malaria endemic zone, confronts this protozoan disease perennially[4]. India's wide–
spread geography, ecological diversity and climatic variability make it an ideal place for malaria
parasites and their vectors to sustain[5].Currently, about 95% of the 1.21 billion population of India
is at risk of malarial infection [6, 7]. An estimated 1.5 million cases and 1000 deaths are attributed to
malaria annually in this region[6, 8]. In year 2012, India contributed about 52% of the total cases out
of the 2 million confirmed malaria cases in South– East Asia [3]. However, in the last decade, India
has made good progress in controlling the

69. CCR1 Case Study
Discovery of a natural mutation in the CCR5 protein that reduces HIV–1 infection, and the tendency
for HIV–1 to select CCR5 co receptors for attachment and fusion promoted the development of
CCR5 antagonists. A 32bp deletion in the CCR5 gene which creates a truncated receptor was
discovered in Caucasian populations in 1996. After assessing DNA from individuals given through
various families and by anonymous donors through the genetics department at the Erasme hospital
in Brussels, scientist concluded roughly ~10% of people in the population contained this mutant
allele. This 32bp deletion, creates a frameshift mutation that produces a non–functional CCR5
protein. The truncated non–functional CCR5 receptor is missing the third intracellular ... Show more

The protein is like most GPCR receptors in that it contains seven transmembrane domains (7TM),
three extracellular loops (ECL1–ECL3), three intracellular loops (ICL1–ICL3), an amino terminal
located outside the cell and a carboxy tail situated in the cytoplasm (Figure 3). Disulfide linkages
between cysteine residues on the N–terminus and extracellular loops stabilize the conformation of
the protein. Several posttranslational modifications in the CCR5 protein are essential for chemokine
and HIV–1 binding. Specifically, CCR5 contains sulfated Tyrosine's and acidic residues on the N–
terminus that assist in gp120 attachment. The amino terminal and the largest extracellular loop,
ECL2, of the CCR5 co–receptor permit R5 HIV binding (Barmania and Pepper 2013).
Gp120 binds to CCR5 in two steps. First step involves the binding of the N–terminus and the second
extracellular loop ECL2 of CCR5 to the V3 loop of gp120. Next, gp120 interacts with residues of
the 7TM domain within CCR5. The Gp120 V3 loop has several domains each with a specific
function to facilitate attachment to the CCR5 co receptor. The third variable loop typically consists
of 35 amino acids, and a disulfide linkage on the first and last amino acids which connects the loop
together. The stem of the V3 loop is located near the conserved regions of gp120. The crown or tip
of the V3 loop is the furthest away from the viral membrane. The V3 crown is relatively conserved,
but the

Abstract –– The JPEG 2000 image compression standard is designed for a broad range of data
compression applications. The Discrete Wavelet Transformation (DWT) is central to the signal
analysis and is important in JPEG 2000 and is quite susceptible to computer–induced errors.
However, advancements in Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) provide a new vital option
for the efficient implementation of DSP algorithms. The main goal of project is to design multiplier
less and high speed digital filters to design DWT. The convolution and lifting based approach posses
hardware complexity due to multiplier and long critical paths. The Distributed arithmetic
architecture is implemented to achieve multiplier less computation in DWT filtering, it is based on
Look–up table approach, which may lead to a reduction of power consumption and the hardware
complexity. DA is basically a bit–serial computational operation that forms an inner product of a
pair of vectors in a single direct step. To speed up the process the parallel DA is implemented. In the
parallel implementation, the input is applied sample by sample in a bit parallel form.

73. Essay On Nursing And Rehabilitation Facilities In Tennessee
Two brand new state of the art nursing and rehabilitation facilities were recently built, in Tennessee,
by a multimillionaire. The first nursing and rehabilitation facility was built, in East Tennessee
surrounded by, ten privately owned nursing and rehabilitation centers. The second, nursing and
rehabilitation facility is located, in West Tennessee surrounded by, ten company–owned nursing and
rehabilitation facilities. The multimillionaire, moved to Tennessee from New York City, a year ago.
After experiencing continued success with the five nursing and rehabilitation centers in New York
City. Now, with all the success the multimillionaire has had in New York it was time to grow and
expand. The Multimillionaire thought about the expansion ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Sample groups from these states with nursing and rehabilitation centers all received online web
surveys (Mirabella, 2011). The multimillionaire took into consideration that there was going to be a
difference in the results, of the samples (Mirabella, 2011). The whole idea was for the results to be
relatively close to the truth and to have confidence in the results (Mirabella, 2011). The
multimillionaire could have taken the easy way out and randomly stopped at ten nursing and
rehabilitation centers, in the area (Mirabella, 2011). With the data, information gathered computed
the mean price for room and services (Mirabella, 2011). However, it is doubtful the mean would
equal the population mean (Mirabella, 2011). By performing sample online web surveys of different
locations, the multimillionaire would come closer to the true means (Mirabella, 2011). Once the
sample means established, along with the margin of error a confidence interval can be computed
(Mirabella, 2011). Confidence intervals can be computed for any level of confidence typically, 95%
confidence intervals are used to understand population mean (Schindler, 2016). However,
confidence levels of 90% and 99% can also be used to decrease or increase the level of confidence
(Schindler, 2016). A 90% confidence interval, means that there is a 90% chance the confidence
interval includes the sample mean (Schindler, 2016).

75. Leonardo Da Vinci's Accomplishments
In this world there is a lot of paintings, everyone can paint their own painting with a piece of paper
and some color paints. But there is no other paintings like "Mona Lisa" and "The Last Supper",
these two pieces of art are the most famous and admired in the world, and the artist is Leonardo di
ser Piero da Vinci, most known as Leonardo da Vinci. This man was a genius. He was a painter, a
writer, an architect, an inventor, and he used to study all the scientific things.
Leonardo da Vinci was born on April 15, 1452 in Vinci, Italy. His father was Ser Piero a rich notary
and attorney. His mother was Caterina a young peasant. They never married each other; he was the
only child they had together. Leonardo was raised by his father and his stepmothers, but at the age of
5 he moved to his father's family. Hi lived with his grandparents and his uncle, they helped raised
him. Leonardo did not receive any formal education beyond basic reading, writing and math, but his
father noticed his artistic talents from an early age. At the age of 15 da Vinci began his
apprenticeship with the noted sculptor and painter Andrea Del Verrocchio. Da vinci stayed with
Verrocchio until he became an independent master in 1478. (staff, 2009) ... Show more content on

77. Interpreter of Maladies in Comparison with Marriages Essay
Interpreter of Maladies is just one of the many short stories written by Jhumpa Lahiri. Interpreter of
Maladies is the story of an American family and an Indian tour guide, Mr. Kapasi. Driving from
location to location, Mr. Kapasi revealed his second job as a translator of symptoms of patients who
speak a different language than the doctor. Mrs. Das declared his job romantic. Mr. Kapasi became
smitten with the woman because he himself suffered from a broken marriage. Seeking help from
Mr.Kapasi, Mrs. Das wanted a remedy for her malady; therefore, Mrs. Das admitted that her middle
child wasn't conceived by her husband. However, Mr. Kapasi could not find a solution to her
problem. He could only diagnose her with the feeling of guilt. There ... Show more content on

Healthy communication means communicating one another's feelings when things need to change.
"The wedding ceremony formally instructs each spouse to love and to cherish his mate; clearly an
instruction that requires high communication, not only of information but also of feelings (Senn)."
Broken marriages are also a major theme in Interpreter of Maladies. Mr. and Mrs. Das married at a
young age. Although the story doesn't state whether they had relationship issues in their early states,
it is almost evident they were not the happiest couple before marriage either. That would explain
why Mrs. Das is not in love with Mr. Das. "... The more premarital conflict, the less satisfaction
couples reported with their relationships at the follow–up assessment and the less the wives reported
being in love (Thomas N. Bradbury)." Another reason we could predict Mr. and Mrs. Das did not
have a healthy early relationship is their lack of communication skills. "...several studies have found
evidence that later communication can be predicted from early satisfaction (Thomas N. Bradbury)."
If their relationship was built upon a strong foundation in the early stages, it would have been easier
for them to communicate in their later marital stages. Lack of communication is a main reason Mr.
and Mrs. Das are suffering from a loveless marriage. The importance of communication and
marriage go hand–in–hand. "Fifty–four midlife, divorced women

79. Receptor Antagonists : Modulator Of Abuse Potential Of Drugs
5–HT3 RECEPTOR ANTAGONISTS:
MODULATOR OF ABUSE POTENTIAL OF DRUGS
Abstract
Serotonergic system in brain creates an important network for proper functioning of brain. It plays
an integral role in regulating A9 as well as A10 dopaminergic neurons in basal neuronal circuit. The
5–HT3 receptors are found to be the only ionic receptors in serotonergic family of receptors
regulating several important functions of brain. The abuse drugs lead to dopamine increase in
nucleus accumbens. This paper reflects on role of 5–HT3 antagonists in modulating the abuse
potential of drugs. Among all the abuse drugs, 5–HT3 receptors are found to be most effective in
condition of alcoholism. Moreover, there are evidences of neuroadaptive changes in brain after
chronic use of 5–HT3 antagonists. All these studies led to identify site of action of alcohol and other
abuse drugs on 5–HT3 receptor which is found to be different than the orthosteric site.

81. Brain Structure and Function Associated with Refraining...
new A number of factors influence the brain structures and functions associated with the motivation
to refrain from using drugs. The dynamics involved include intrinsic and extrinsic motivation,
heredity, and environmental forces. In general, internal motivation is considered to be associated
with long–term behavior modification, whereas the successful outcome of external motivation can
be short lived (Pubs.niaaa.nih, 2010).Motivational assessment suggests a considerable challenge. To
bring about a transformation of behavior, one must consider the individual's internal point of view
and beliefs, as well as his or her external forces and inducements. Although environmental and
biological factors play a role in the desire to refrain from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Kohn established that the result of the punishment and reward system is inevitably counter
productive; although it may be successful in the short term, motivation rapidly diminishes if the
rewards are not increased and frequent. Finally, extrinsic motivation, as the underlying principle for
abstaining from drug use, can impair intrinsic motivation by eradicating the addicts innate desire to
take the action on his, or her, own volition; from that point on, one must be punished or rewarded
each time they either use or refrain from the use of drugs Intrinsic Factors
The intrinsic factors that influence one's desire to refrain from using drugs vary. The inherent nature
of the act of taking drugs is the desire to "feel good." Whatever the imbalance or need, the arousal
action is to engage in the use of one's drug of choice. The intrinsic nature of the desire to refrain
from using one's drug of choice is the same. The motivation to "use" is based on one's needs; those
needs produce a behavior that derives satisfaction (Analytic
