The Music Of The Band Heart
I imagine this doesn 't apply to everyone, as each person is different and I know some people don 't listen to music (Gasp!). But in general, it seems
as if music has the ability to move us. I 've thought about this quite a bit, but the video of the band Heart's live cover of Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to
Heaven" really made me wonder (pun not intended. Seriously, though, if you haven't seen it, it's nothing short of mind–blowing; one of the best
"Stairway" covers in a long time). I enjoy listening to almost every kind of music, but my personal favorite has to be classic, golden–age rock and roll
(1960s through 1980s, with some songs from other decades scattered throughout). I know some people who will roll their eyes and mentally
groan, "I know!", at me bringing up my three favorite bands again (for the record, they're 1) Queen, 2) Alice Cooper, 3) Aerosmith; not in order of
preference, but the order of when I got into them) but I don't let it get to me. (If I do, that's what my music binges are for). To me, they never stop
sounding amazing. Anyways, when I listen to it, it seems to control my emotions. I have a chemical and physical response to the music. I know this
happens with a lot of people. Why do we seem to have such a powerful connection with music? Well, maybe because it affects each one of us
differently, there is no set answer; instead, there are many possible effects, such as... Dancing: Dancing is a major part of almost every culture. It is

Does My Choice In Music Directly Shape My Future?. When
Does my choice in music directly shape my future?
When one listens to music, dopamine levels are slightly increased resulting in a feel good sensation in response to the specific stimuli. Although music
may have health benefits, it is almost an unimaginable task to find a person who does not enjoy music. Even Though I would love it if music directly
impacted others lives the way it does for me, I can only voice its impacts for myself and my beliefs about how music has a direct impact on my future.
From relaxation to socialization or studying habits to my mood, music directly impacts my way of life.

Since I was exposed to music at young age, I was able to excel in school and earn good grades which guided me on a path to succeed in high school.
Furthermore, it personally gives me the ability to channel my emotions and express them in an appropriate way. To this day the quality of my
songwriting is not perfected, but my future is greatly impacted by this. Some may express their feelings down in a journal, I express mine through
music. This gives me the ability to control my emotions in difficult situations and will positively impact my social interaction skills later on in life.
Although music may benefit my future, music is more than that to me. Music is why I put my all into everything I do and it is the reason why I am
the person I am today and the person I will be in twenty years from now. My interest in music has molded my personality and those who I interact
with. Research has been able to show the positive effects music has had on the psychological well being of society throughout history. Due to the
complexity of music, the variety of brain activity while listening to music positively affects the brain " but also [helps] on long–term well–being when

which positively impacts paramount skills from adolescents to the elderly. Through music, society 's future can be divergent and can create a world with

How Music Affects A Faster Heart Rate
There are many different hypotheses on what type of music affects the heart rate. Whether it be different things (like crescendos or pauses) that affect
the heart rate even further. Or slow music with pauses or crescendos could actually speed up the heart rate. There are many pieces of evidence that fast,
upbeat music equal a faster heart rate. But could we slow that heart rate down by adding different effects to the music?
On mindblowingfacts.org it states that different speeds of music can alter your heart rate as well as decreaseing your muscle tension. While I was
doing my research I found many other examples of how music can affect yourself. Music can affect your stress level, happiness, or your look on life.
Music is a very important thing in people's life. It can calm people down, or make people happy, so it also affects our attitude and mood.

Your heart is one of the strongest, most controlling organ in your body. The reason I think your heart rate does this is because if you have ever
felt a surge of energy when your favorite upbeat song comes on the radio, or if you listen to slow music to relax, the emotions you experience are
directly linked to what music does to your heart rate. When you listen to fast paced music your heart rate isn't going to be slow, and same thing if
you were to listen to slow, relaxing song your heart rate would be fast. Another interesting fact about heart rate is that it actually changes while
listening to music. So this also all goes back to the crescendos and pauses. If you are listening to a fast paced song and it has a decrescendo it would
all of a sudden lower your heart rate. Or while you're listening to slow, relaxing music and it has a crescendo it could quicken your heart rate. So it
wouldn't matter what type of music you are listening to, no matter what your heart rate will be affected, whether that be slowing down or speeding

How Music Affects Society
Traditional, culture, and identity– how can music affect human life?
I chose this topic because music is a history, a culture and everything. Music is a very important role in our daily life. Maybe most of the people
wouldn't know it or feel it but without music everything would have changed. Music have been a big part of our lives, most of the culture has music. So
can music change the world or the world will change music?
Not all music are good to the society I am not saying that all music are bad, The generation these days in music like pop and rap the music is good
but some of the lyrics in the music are using inappropriate language, sexually, and negative behavior. Many people nowadays are having parties, and
apparently in these party music are been played which is used as aggressive music. So will these consequences change the world or the music?
Global Perspective
According to most of the countries, they have been said that music is been played loud at night and many people are complaining about it. Apparently
in the United States of America laws are pretty strict on that it is a criminal offense. But there is a time... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

affect of music in my life is that music repair everything, even when I cant sleep at night music make me sleep well. Music can bring happiness,
music can bring us all together, music make the world more colorful. Music is something that is already since the first creature is born; even animals

Personal Narrative : I Search Paper
Zac Hilson ENGL 1102 I–Search Paper Music has always been emotionally evocative to me since I was young. I am always able to recall just how
extreme the atmosphere and mood can be enhanced by music. Whether at a bitter–sweet moment in a TV show or at a heroic moment in a video game
music is always there to multiply the emotions of the scene tenfold. Even today I find myself recalling emotions and feeling them all over again
whenever I listen to a particular piece of music, especially so for ones that went along with a highly memorable scene in a show or game. I wind
up pumping my fist in the air all over again if inspiring, or fighting back tears if morose. I never knew why music affected me so or how, and so
after learning of this assignment I decided it was time I looked into it. Why this story matters is simple. It is simply the reason I ever asked this
question. I wanted to know why music could affect emotions to such an extent, and why it could leave such lasting impacts. During my research I was
almost overwhelmed with the plethora of articles, papers, and discussions on the subject. One of the first articles I found "Music & How It Impacts
Your Brain, Emotions" gave me a little food for thought. "The appreciation of music is tied to the ability to process its underlying structure – the ability
to predict what will occur next in the song."( _) I had never considered that at least some of the enjoyment of music came from a sort of problem

How Music Affects The Brain
What kind of music do you like? Is it rock, country, rap, pop, or something else. We all have some sort of preference that we like, and we can thank
our brain for that. With this paper I will tell you how our brain reacts to music and how it affects us.
Different people like different types of music. There are also many sub genres that are grouped into the major ones. One example is metal, it is a
subgenre of rock. For my personal preference, I like most types of rock. My favorite is probably classic rock from the 70s to the 90s. That is just
my personal preference but there are many other types of music as well. This chart tells, from a survey, about the preference of the people of these
types of music. These statistics show that the most liked out of these was rock. This survey can very in many ways. It could change if the survey was

I love God and I believe in the power of prayer. I was raised by a single mother who instilled a great work ethic, morals and values that will carry me
through life. She has taught me to believe in myself and never let what others think or say about you define you. Life is about choices and
consequences and it is up to you to decide what choices will lead to the right consequences for you. Growing up without a father who was there to
support me was hurtful but I did not become a victim to my circumstances. My mother taught me that God will remove people out of your life who
will mean you more harm than good. She and my grandmother taught me that everything happens for a reason even though when it is happening
you don't know or understand why but eventually it will be revealed. I was taught that to get the things in life that matter to you may cause you to
make sacrifices but if you remain faithful you will be rewarded. God never takes something away from you without giving you back something
better in His timing. There is a time and a place for everything and we must be patient and wait for our time. All of these values and lessons that I
have been taught has prepared me for whatever may come my way. I know that anything worth having is not going to be easy but it will be worth it.

Our Emotional Response to Music
All our emotions are affected by something, and the music is one part of these things. My main aim of this study is to show you the real meaning of
music, the uses of music, the emotional responses of music, does music affect other things plus to our emotions? Also, to show you how can music
control the hormone levels in the body? The exciting music in the films, you are the type of the music that you are listening to. Let's read and know
more about music. Did you ask yourself about the meaning of music? Music is made up from beauty, thoughts, and feelings (Juslin;
Västfjäll2008). According to Beethoven, the real meaning of music is "From heart is came, to the heart may it go" (1979:8). Actually, I found the
definition of music very romantic and beautiful. It has a lot of meanings like: tenderness, love and familiarity. I feel like there is a strong connection
between the music and the heart. So, let us recognize music and know more aspects about it. When we listen to music, our emotions change in a
quick way (Juslin; Västfjäll2008). For example, when someone is sad and he will listen to sad music, he will remember the bad memories during
his life. It happened to me actually when I am disappointed from something or sad, I tend directly to listen to sad music. So, after that my emotions
change quickly. This is the way that music can motivate our feelings. In addition, music makes us enjoy our time when we are listening to it, and feel
comfortable (Juslin;

Music Influence On Music And Culture
Imagine going through the whole day without music. No radio, no Apple Music, no Spotify; nothing. Most people fail to realize it, but music is a
tremendous part of our everyday lives. But what makes music so appealing to the human race? Why do we depend on music to get us through the
day or to relax us at night? Most people say they listen to music just because they like the way it sounds or they like the artist that sings the song,
but there are much deeper psychological reasons why people turn on the radio in the car or plug in their ear buds at work. Music "provides a
means of escape," and it helps our overall outlook on life and the world we live in (Schäfer). Music is crucial to society and culture due to its
effects on our psyche and its power to bring people together. It creates a satisfying and unifying emotional connection. A survey completed by
Edison Research, a company that provides election poll data and other important statistics for the public, revealed that an average American listens
to four hours of music a day (Peoples). When your car turns on so does the radio, and the average American listens to music on the way to work or
school every single day. This shows exactly how impactful music is in society. Not only does it shape us individually, but it shapes our culture as a
whole. According to Nielsen Music reports, Hip–Hop is the most listened to genre of music in the United States, followed by Rock and Pop
(Chesman). This can be a very good thing or a

Music is inseparable part of our everyday life; we can face it in every corner of our town, on TV commercial, films, radio etc. Music can be understood
everywhere, even if you cannot speak the language of other countries, but you move, dance, sing and enjoy the music while listening to it. We may not

So, the second question of the chart would be: How does music affect consumer behavior? It is a simple fact that most music of today is composed,
distributed, sold and bought, performed and listened to for some commercial purposes. One of the main purposes is selling. Nowadays the main
concept of this modern world is to make more money, as everybody knows; customers are the main source of the companies' income, whether you
make products, goods or service. Moreover, managers and marketers try to attract more consumers by using different tricks. One of them is to
influence customers' behavior by music and sounds. First of all, on an average day, the average person watches an hour and a half of the commercial
television stations, of which fifteen minutes will be made up solely of advertisements. Approximately half of all advertisements will have music
(Fellows, 1998, para.1). Good music can contribute to the effectiveness of an advertisement by making it more attractive. A good music engages the
attention of an audience, evoke emotions and sometimes make audience to dance and sing. Music plays an important role in marketing business, by
appealing customers through their emotions, as it was mentioned before. In this case, music should send messages about products' brand name, shape,
and even taste etc. For example, according to Michael Morrison (2009),

My Roots Of Optimism
Where are my roots of optimism. The word optimism goes all the way back to the 1700s. A man named Gottfried Leibniz, believes in the Christian
God. He thought God does things for the best and we should just accept what happens in life and act accordingly. Through his strong belief came the
creation of Philosophical Optimism. Philosophical Optimism is looking at all things positive, no matter how bad things may be. With this belief,
Leibniz, through his discoveries in science and mathematics, was able to create Calculus. This concludes how Optimism first started with a man with
strong religious beliefs and powerful knowledge. We all have our own ways of how Optimism came into our lives. Optimism for me became very

It gives me joy. Playing the violin is what gives me optimism. On a societal level, one point I would like to bring up is how politics in today's
society affects the ways of my optimism today. I am very intrigued with the past 2016 presidential election. It came to my attention that there were
many rumors about how Clinton should've won the election or how Trump won fair and square. There is a clear differences in America, but this is
what makes us unified as a nation. We all have our own opinions and express what we believe in, just like Gottfried Leibniz. Former President Obama
once stated "We are fortunate to be living in the most peaceful, most prosperous, most progressive era in human history". He brings up a very good
point. We should not be dictated by the controversial issues and worry about the public affairs that happen in this world. I want to be able to have
optimism from this and learn, conquer, and accept life as it is. I want to be able to enjoy life to the fullest. Optimism was just a natural trait I
picked up in my life, especially with the amount of influence my family had on me. They taught me that no one is perfect in this world and you will

Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat 'And Catchy Tunes'
The impact that music has on individuals lives varies greatly from person to person and often provides a unique lifestyle to each individual. An author
by the name Oliver Sacks talks about the unique cases that he has dealt with in the past in his writings. The Man Who Mistook his Wife for a Hat and
"Brainworms, Sticky Music, and Catchy Tunes" from Musicophilia are two articles written by Oliver Sacks, which show the relationship that music has
on the mind and how music can change how a person perceives reality. The human mind is a complex machine and yet there is something about music
that transforms a person's thought process completely. On the one hand it can be seen to aid Dr. P in his everyday life in the article The Man Who
Mistook his Wife for a Hat with "He can't do anything unless he makes it a song" (Sacks 17); however, in the article "Brainworms, Sticky Music, and
Catchy Tunes" from Musicophilia, the music acts as an inhibiter to the patients and "would repeat themselves irresistibility" in the mind (Sacks 44). In
these two articles, Sacks' shows just how different music affects people. Dr. P needs music to get through daily routines, while for other... Show more

Music Is The Language Of The Universe
To many, music is seen as the language of the universe. Therefore, when we don't have the right words to say, music speaks. We turn to music
when we don't know how to express our feelings, don't have anyone to turn to, to help us through the tough times, or simply is just a form of
therapy for our soul. When it comes to people trying to cope with mistakes, doubt, and depression many of us tend to turn to sad music because it
is what allows us to comprehend how we are feeling on the inside. Also, the connection we make to sad music helps us identify our emotions and
how we feel by the meaning of the lyrics. Many may say that all sad music does is cause more depression and makes us feel worse about ourselves
or the situations we are in, but in this case, personally I believe that sad music affects our emotions in a good way. I can attest to this because I am
one of those people that will turn to sad music when I am going through very rough hardships because it is what gets through to me and helps me
cope with how I am feeling. I understand that others prefer to listen to happy music when they are in a funk because they feel that happy, and upbeat
music is what will make them feel better, but in reality, I think it just distracts them for a little while until they go back to how they originally felt.
Therefore, I strongly believe that sad music affects our emotions in a more positive manner. For many, sad music is very therapeutic. Sad music is

How Music Affects Child Development
The area of interest for my research this semester revolves around music and children. My three research questions are 1. How does music affect

as my area of interest because I have always been passionate about both music and children. I grew up listening to a wide variety of music. Hip–hop,
Country, R&B, Opera, Jazz, Rap, Pop, etc. I was also involved in many choirs, and even got the chance to participate in a couple musicals. My
appreciation for music has grown substantially over the years, as well as my interest in its effects. Children are another major part of my life as I

The Effects Of Classical Music On Music
What is defined as "good" or "real" music? How does an individual come to define that? Many would say that classical music is "real" music since it
is the basis of music that is created today and it has lasted through time. It is still heard today, one of the first types of music to last. Others may
strongly disagree; even though it has stood the test of time what actually makes this the sole definition of "good" music? It doesn't, there really is not a
true universal definition. There are multiple views on what is considered "real" or "good" and that is what needs to be brought to attention, that there
is not a single wrong or right in this field. Merriam–Webster defines "good" as adequate or satisfactory ("Good"). There are billions of different
definitions of "good" music because each definition of the music found to be satisfactory is created by a different individual. Music taste is largely
based on opinion and where that opinion comes from is what is important. Everyone is different, so psychologically some people find one type of
music more appealing over another, this taste is also influenced by the environment someone grows up in.
Being able to form opinions is an important aspect of life that humans develop as they age. Of course not everyone will share the same views, but that
is what makes everyone unique. There are countless types of music in the world, and everyone is affected by music in one way or another. Once
opinions on music are formed, however, there

As stated in the article, The Mental Health Benefits of Music by Darlene Oakley, "Music distracts and provides a sense of control, releases endorphins
that counteract pain, and relaxes the person by slowing their breathing and heart rate" (Oakley 1). This demonstrates how music can be an effective, yet
inexpensive medicine for the heart. Along with reducing chronic pain, music can also boost a person's immune function. In the article, How Music

How Does Robert Johnson's Decisions Affect Native Americans?
Recent insufferable events in Stillwater, Oklahoma, illustrate the injustice that exists in society. Oklahoma State University hosted its annual
homecoming on October 22, and during a parade, a woman who was under the influence committed a lugubrious act by driving through the crowd,
killing four people and injuring forty–six. Her puerile decision to drink and drive is a decision that affects, many lives. Similar issues of identity, and
critical thinking – albeit on a larger scale–– play out in Sherman Alexie's 1995 novel Reservation Blues, which deals with decision making, and how
decisions affect multiple people. For instance, Alexie, through Thomas and Robert Johnson illustrates how every decision someone makes, no matter

He must decide between pursuing a music career or giving up on his music. Johnson chooses to continue music and he goes toward the indian
reservation, where he not only changes his life but also the lives of several indians. Johnson is different, he is an puriah in a place full of outcasts.
He has a profound effect on the Indians because they see someone who is different, but is not afraid to be different. They see someone who has
many obstacles in his way, but still wants to pursue his goals. Just as the speaker states how Robert Johnson's decision to go to the reservation
affects others so too does the speaker describe the effect that Johnson and Thomas sparking a relationship affects every character. Through Thomas
giving Robert Johnson a ride, the speaker introduces Robert Johnson's role in the indian reservation life. Thomas makes the bold decision to bring
Robert Johnson onto the reservation. He allows Johnson into his life but also the lives of everyone on the reservation. It is a strange decision because
Thomas is letting a complete stranger into his van. It is also one of the most important decisions in the book because it brings Robert's guitar into the
novel which plays a role

Other than changing your heartbeat and your blood pressure, music can help with diseases and development of the brain. Music training can
significantly improve our motor and responding skills. Stress, pain management, rehabilitation, and behavior modification can be affected by music
(Schneck 1) There are different diseases in particular that have shown a great improvement due to music therapy. Cerebral palsy can be affected
with the help of music. Cerebral palsy is a condition marked by impaired muscle coordination and or other disabilities, typically caused by damage to
the brain before or at birth. A four year old boy has cerebral palsy. Although struggling with this disease, is still able to play drums and piano. The
music sends signals to his body that allows him to develop these attributes (Westley 103). Another disease music therapy affects is Alzheimer's.
Alzheimer's is a

Alzheimer's. Although this man can barely remember his own name, he can play the drums due to his muscle memory caused by the signals send to
his muscles by the sounds (McCLelland 63). Music can train the mind to do amazing things. Music therapy is an important source of treatment that I

My First Love : The Influence Of Music In My Life
Music was my first love, and I don't think that will ever change. I've loved music for as long as I can remember. From my brother singing songs in
our car, to my parents filling our house with songs from musicians like Johnny Cash, ACDC and Prince and everything in between and to my first
piano lesson.
Music has impacted my life and many others lives so greatly, I thought what better time to highlight some of the many benefits of music, in schools,
mental health and how music affects our brain.
According to Anita Collins, a neurologist with a Ph.D. in music, every time we listen to music, there are fireworks going off in our brains. Multiple
different areas work together to process the music you hear, taking apart things like melody and rhythm, then putting them back together in a split
second like a backyard fireworks show. Cool right? But what's even cooler is when we learn to play an instrument, the backyard firework show is
now a spectacle. Every time a musician plays their instrument it uses almost every part of our brain. especially parts such as the motor, auditory and
visual cortices. Which basically means the parts of our brains we use for movement, seeing and reading, and listening. It also uses both sides of our
brain and strengthens the connections between the two sides which help us be better problem solvers. Playing music also enhances memory, slows
memory loss, can lower blood pressure and lower our heart rate. Music also affects our mood. As we play

Studying with Classical Music Will Increase Concentration...
Literature Review
Topic: Studying with classical music will increase concentration ability, allowing for quicker problem solving.
Name of article: "Does music help you study?" Author: Sheela Doraiswamy Website: "Mind the science gap" Date published: October 8 2012
1:Different background noise/music was used to test students recalling abilities. The test was carried out in a quiet room with first, no sound then a
'steady state speech' (in this case three was repeated), 'changing state speech' (numbers from 1–9 were repeated in a random order), then liked and
disliked music. The study showed no significant difference between 'changing state speech', or liked (pop) and disliked (metal) music. All three were
equally distracting. 'Steady state speech' produced higher results because it is easier for the brain to tune out repetitive noises.
Value: This study successfully shows that certain noises/music can be more distracting than others. The author refers to studies conducted by
universities and uses information from professionals.Limitations: Even though classical music was not played during this study, it shows how other
music can be a distraction to concentration.
This study uses a variety of noises/music and can therefore not be considered biased. It is a reliable source because it was carried out at the University
Of Wales in a controlled environment. Although it is does not exactly tie in with my hypothesis, it is still valid as it

Music is a form of art that affects everyone in one way or another. Music is a piece of art that fully reflects the artist's feelings or lifelong experiences.
Art affects everyone emotionally and everyone can relate to music because the lyrics are meaningful in every way just like a story. For example,
XXXTentacion's music reflects his feelings and his emotional struggles and how he had problems with suicide and clinical depression. I relate to one
of his songs, "Everybody Dies in Their Nightmares".
In this song, he talks about how he is trapped in his mind. The line "Tired of feeling like I am trapped in my damn mind" demonstrates this very
clearly. By this, he means that he is stuck feeling the same emotions, is depressed and not able to change. I relate to this line from the song because I
have dealt with a lot of emotional issues related to my childhood. This song is a reminder of my past issues and helps to remind myself that life is
worth living and that all my efforts were worth it. XXXTentacion has an introduction to his album "17" where he talks about how... Show more content

Music And Its Effect On Our Lives
Section 2: To many people, music is a significant part to their daily lives and its role varies depending on the individual. I personally use music as a
form of escape from reality and a tool to help me focus in certain situations. Other use music as an entertainer, an energizer, a coping mechanism or
even as a stimulant. Due to this, music is able to play a developmental role in creating one's identity. In 2007, Tomas Chamorro–Premuzic and Adrian
Furnham, studied how 21st century listeners use music in their daily lives and how an individual's personality affects their listening behaviors. After
conducting a survey in which a total of 314 people took, they came to the conclusion that personality and cognitive ability "partly determine the way in
which we experience music"(Chamorro–Premuzic, Furnham, 175). From their survey, they found out that many people use music for impression
management, influencing other people's perceptions towards oneself, as well as emotional regulation and coping. Some interesting findings from their
research were: extroverts use music as background stimulation, people with lower IQ's tend to use music in more emotional rather than intellectual
ways and prefer upbeat and conventional music, while on the other hand, people with higher IQ's prefer more complex and reflective music. The
results also showed that an individual's emotional stability is connected to their uses of music. Less stable individuals proved to be more sensitive to the

The Flavored Of Music And Exercise
Concoction of Music and Exercise Music has a greater impact in our lives than we realize. Music is everywhere we go and is listened to on a daily
basis, which affects us in different ways. Music is incorporated into different aspects of living such as a work environment, sports games, while
studying, in the car, or while doing exercise. Incorporating music into exercise has been proven to make exercising in any environment more fun, boost
one's mood, increasing motivation, and varying heart rate depending on the tempo of music. Music and exercise increase the brain activity, along with
facilitate in the motor development of a child. In today's world, music is used to help facilitate one's gaining knowledge of self, others, and the world.
The brain grows into two hemispheres, and music plays a crucial role in the neurological development of a child. From an early age, music helps
"naturally develop a child's communication, expression, and cognition" (Yoon 9). Frank Wilson, a well–known neurologist, stated that music more
fully involves brain functions in both hemispheres than any other activity. "The hemispheres of the brain work together when emotions are stimulated,
attention focused, and motivation heightened, which happen when music is being played; music synchronizes the right and left hemispheres of the
brain. When listening to enjoyable music, electrical activity is seen in brain regions responsible for coordinating movement, including the
supplementary motor area,

I came across articles with information about projects and research that had been done involving the brain and its connection to the spoken language.

Questions that helped guide my research were based on experiments that had been done regarding the brain and the question of how musical
communication evolved. The emotional and universal aspect also brought up interest throughout my research that inspired a few questions about music

The Importance Of Controversy In Art
Art has been apart of humanity for about 300,000 to 700,000 years and has served as a form of expression ever since. With expression comes
interpretation and with interpretation comes controversy. Controversy can be found in all forms of art such as music, illustrations, and even television
shows. Controversy in artwork can affect the consumer in numerous ways and some may argue how the controversy affects the consumer. Author
Jessica Hopper shows how controversy in art can lead to a stronger emotional connection with the art and the consumer. Jessica Hopper, an author as
well as music critic, speaks about her personal experience with the controversy regarding emo music and how women are given no life. Author Jesse
Hassenger shows how controversy can negatively affect the consumer. Hassenger talks about James Rolfe, also known as "The Angry Video Game
Nerd", who posted a viral video about the controversy regarding the new Ghostbusters adaptation. I believe the effect controversy has on its consumer
is completely dependent on the thoughts and beliefs the consumer has on the subject at hand. Author Jessica Hopper would argue that controversy has
a positive effect on the consumer because it gives the consumer a stronger emotional connection with the artwork. This is evident in her writing "Emo:
Where The Girls Aren't". Hopper is a fan of the emo genre in music. Hopper feels that women have been locked out of this genre that she appreciates
so much. She states "Girls in

Music : The Means Of Music And Music?
Art is an important part in human society. But what is the definition of art? It is something that has been with us since the beginning of mankind and
has been evolving ever since. Since that time, arts have been a changing frontier and can imply many things. It can mean art through painting,
architecture, video games, movies, etc.. People resonate with a specific kind of art they partake in and in this case music is my prefered form of art
because it is meaningful to me in a spiritual, academic, and creative way. However most communities are extremely wary about music and its effects
on us. They are saying that it is just a hobby and what we are experiencing is a placebo effect that educators in music have placed in our heads. But in
this attempt to persuade and state the truths about the non–coincidental things happening in the minds of a musician. To show that playing music is no
hobby but almost a necessity as we progress into the future. I must show off my personal and logical/statistical evidence to explain that the effects of
music is real. The power of music can affect a person's brain neurologically. This means how they think and what their mood is completely different
than ones of a non–musician. Music can be applied to other things and not to music itself. It is a topic which can be connected to other things such as
things in academia. (In this case math, science, english, etc..) But most importantly is what folks seem to undermine the most and that is the power

Personal Narrative: How Music Affects My Life
Music is a powerful force. Music strongly affects our emotions, brings back memories, changes the way we express ourselves, and it can even affect

used to retell one's own past through someone else's lyrics.
Firstly, I chose the song "Don't you worry child" by Swedish house mafia because
It's about people going through tough times in their life... It's a song meant to empower you to keep pushing forward, living in the world around
you, rather than "in the pictures on the wall" (the past). Many parts of the song's lyrics I use to compare to my own life. I used to live in a "happy
home" when I was a younger, When I was 12–years–old, my parents separated and those days of being in a "happy home" were gone for me; and I still
think about it from time to time, just like in the lyrics ""Those days are gone, and now the memories are on the wall"" and the words "my first
heartbreak" when my parents separated. Moving to Ohio everything changed for me; I changed schools, changed houses, and got new friends. It was

Music Influences Consumers : Does Music Really Influence...
Hazell Castillo English 01A Professor Fries April 17 2016 Music Influences Consumers Does music really influence the way consumers shop?
Music affects many aspects of the consumers live in today's society. Music is one of the easiest wat to connect with other people and convince
them about something, because everyone listens to it regardless of the genre. Music has certain ways of affecting the way consumers shop by
determining what brand they will buy, or how much products they will purchase. Some songs that are an example of how music and effect
consumers' behaviors is "Love Yourz" by J. Cole, "Save Dat Money" by Little Dicky featuring Fetty Wap and "Time of Our Lives" by Neyo featuring
Pitbull. In the article "The Science of Shopping" by Malcom Gladwell he states, "After an hour or so, it's no longer clear whether simply by watching
people shop– and analyzing their every move – you can learn how to control them" (103). Consumers are not aware of how many factors are enforced
or planned to make the consumers purchase spend more money. People put much effort to make consumer purchase products that they might not be
sure why they really are buying it. People do the same thing with music, they play particular songs while consumer shop and would want to spend more
money. The same way that artists want consumers to spend money on things they rap or sing about, music influences consumers in many ways such as
the way the live a certain lifestyle, the things they buy for the

Music Has A Negative Impact On Society
Music is a widely discussed topic that happens to take shape in many different conversations. One topic that takes place in many conversations
around the world is if music has a negative or positive affect on society. This type of question is an opinion based that mainly depends on the
person and the situation in which the music is present at that time. Sometimes music can have a positive and negative affect on society at the same
time. Personally, I believe that music has both a positive and negative affect on society. This can be said for just even one song having both
meanings. Throughout this paper different songs will be analyzed through their lyrics to determine which parts of society would be affected in a
negative and positive by each individual song. Now to go look at some explains of these impacts through song lyrics and to see if they are negative
or positive through my eyes. Music can impact society in many ways whether it is in positive or negative way such as, emotionally, morally, or even
physically. Emotionally, music can make society feel like they're not alone. It may even make someone feel as if that song exactly spoke about how
that person was feeling at the time they heard it or when they were going through a certain situation. Songs have a way of connecting to us, us

The Music Of The Band Heart

  • 1. The Music Of The Band Heart I imagine this doesn 't apply to everyone, as each person is different and I know some people don 't listen to music (Gasp!). But in general, it seems as if music has the ability to move us. I 've thought about this quite a bit, but the video of the band Heart's live cover of Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven" really made me wonder (pun not intended. Seriously, though, if you haven't seen it, it's nothing short of mind–blowing; one of the best "Stairway" covers in a long time). I enjoy listening to almost every kind of music, but my personal favorite has to be classic, golden–age rock and roll (1960s through 1980s, with some songs from other decades scattered throughout). I know some people who will roll their eyes and mentally groan, "I know!", at me bringing up my three favorite bands again (for the record, they're 1) Queen, 2) Alice Cooper, 3) Aerosmith; not in order of preference, but the order of when I got into them) but I don't let it get to me. (If I do, that's what my music binges are for). To me, they never stop sounding amazing. Anyways, when I listen to it, it seems to control my emotions. I have a chemical and physical response to the music. I know this happens with a lot of people. Why do we seem to have such a powerful connection with music? Well, maybe because it affects each one of us differently, there is no set answer; instead, there are many possible effects, such as... Dancing: Dancing is a major part of almost every culture. • 2. Does My Choice In Music Directly Shape My Future?. When Does my choice in music directly shape my future? When one listens to music, dopamine levels are slightly increased resulting in a feel good sensation in response to the specific stimuli. Although music may have health benefits, it is almost an unimaginable task to find a person who does not enjoy music. Even Though I would love it if music directly impacted others lives the way it does for me, I can only voice its impacts for myself and my beliefs about how music has a direct impact on my future. From relaxation to socialization or studying habits to my mood, music directly impacts my way of life. Music has always been there for me and it always has the right words to say. From sorrow to joy, music has taught and guided me on how to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since I was exposed to music at young age, I was able to excel in school and earn good grades which guided me on a path to succeed in high school. Furthermore, it personally gives me the ability to channel my emotions and express them in an appropriate way. To this day the quality of my songwriting is not perfected, but my future is greatly impacted by this. Some may express their feelings down in a journal, I express mine through music. This gives me the ability to control my emotions in difficult situations and will positively impact my social interaction skills later on in life. Although music may benefit my future, music is more than that to me. Music is why I put my all into everything I do and it is the reason why I am the person I am today and the person I will be in twenty years from now. My interest in music has molded my personality and those who I interact with. Research has been able to show the positive effects music has had on the psychological well being of society throughout history. Due to the complexity of music, the variety of brain activity while listening to music positively affects the brain " but also [helps] on long–term well–being when music is implemented in various life situations and contexts–including the family" (NCBI). The Social and biological benefits interact cohesively which positively impacts paramount skills from adolescents to the elderly. • 3. How Music Affects A Faster Heart Rate There are many different hypotheses on what type of music affects the heart rate. Whether it be different things (like crescendos or pauses) that affect the heart rate even further. Or slow music with pauses or crescendos could actually speed up the heart rate. There are many pieces of evidence that fast, upbeat music equal a faster heart rate. But could we slow that heart rate down by adding different effects to the music? On mindblowingfacts.org it states that different speeds of music can alter your heart rate as well as decreaseing your muscle tension. While I was doing my research I found many other examples of how music can affect yourself. Music can affect your stress level, happiness, or your look on life. Music is a very important thing in people's life. It can calm people down, or make people happy, so it also affects our attitude and mood. On ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Your heart is one of the strongest, most controlling organ in your body. The reason I think your heart rate does this is because if you have ever felt a surge of energy when your favorite upbeat song comes on the radio, or if you listen to slow music to relax, the emotions you experience are directly linked to what music does to your heart rate. When you listen to fast paced music your heart rate isn't going to be slow, and same thing if you were to listen to slow, relaxing song your heart rate would be fast. Another interesting fact about heart rate is that it actually changes while listening to music. So this also all goes back to the crescendos and pauses. If you are listening to a fast paced song and it has a decrescendo it would all of a sudden lower your heart rate. Or while you're listening to slow, relaxing music and it has a crescendo it could quicken your heart rate. So it wouldn't matter what type of music you are listening to, no matter what your heart rate will be affected, whether that be slowing down or speeding ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. How Music Affects Society Traditional, culture, and identity– how can music affect human life? I chose this topic because music is a history, a culture and everything. Music is a very important role in our daily life. Maybe most of the people wouldn't know it or feel it but without music everything would have changed. Music have been a big part of our lives, most of the culture has music. So can music change the world or the world will change music? Not all music are good to the society I am not saying that all music are bad, The generation these days in music like pop and rap the music is good but some of the lyrics in the music are using inappropriate language, sexually, and negative behavior. Many people nowadays are having parties, and apparently in these party music are been played which is used as aggressive music. So will these consequences change the world or the music? Global Perspective According to most of the countries, they have been said that music is been played loud at night and many people are complaining about it. Apparently in the United States of America laws are pretty strict on that it is a criminal offense. But there is a time... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If we want more good music to be in the music society so we must start not make these noise pollution. The other affect of music in my life is that music repair everything, even when I cant sleep at night music make me sleep well. • 5. Personal Narrative : I Search Paper Zac Hilson ENGL 1102 I–Search Paper Music has always been emotionally evocative to me since I was young. I am always able to recall just how extreme the atmosphere and mood can be enhanced by music. Whether at a bitter–sweet moment in a TV show or at a heroic moment in a video game music is always there to multiply the emotions of the scene tenfold. Even today I find myself recalling emotions and feeling them all over again whenever I listen to a particular piece of music, especially so for ones that went along with a highly memorable scene in a show or game. I wind up pumping my fist in the air all over again if inspiring, or fighting back tears if morose. I never knew why music affected me so or how, and so after learning of this assignment I decided it was time I looked into it. Why this story matters is simple. It is simply the reason I ever asked this question. I wanted to know why music could affect emotions to such an extent, and why it could leave such lasting impacts. During my research I was almost overwhelmed with the plethora of articles, papers, and discussions on the subject. One of the first articles I found "Music & How It Impacts Your Brain, Emotions" gave me a little food for thought. "The appreciation of music is tied to the ability to process its underlying structure – the ability to predict what will occur next in the song."( _) I had never considered that at least some of the enjoyment of music came from a sort of problem solving yet, ... We all have some sort of preference that we like, and we can thank our brain for that. With this paper I will tell you how our brain reacts to music and how it affects us. Different people like different types of music. There are also many sub genres that are grouped into the major ones. One example is metal, it is a subgenre of rock. For my personal preference, I like most types of rock. My favorite is probably classic rock from the 70s to the 90s. That is just my personal preference but there are many other types of music as well. This chart tells, from a survey, about the preference of the people of these types of music. Growing up without a father who was there to support me was hurtful but I did not become a victim to my circumstances. My mother taught me that God will remove people out of your life who will mean you more harm than good. • 10. Our Emotional Response to Music All our emotions are affected by something, and the music is one part of these things. My main aim of this study is to show you the real meaning of music, the uses of music, the emotional responses of music, does music affect other things plus to our emotions? Also, to show you how can music control the hormone levels in the body? The exciting music in the films, you are the type of the music that you are listening to. Let's read and know more about music. Did you ask yourself about the meaning of music? Music is made up from beauty, thoughts, and feelings (Juslin; VГ¤stfjГ¤ll2008). According to Beethoven, the real meaning of music is "From heart is came, to the heart may it go" (1979:8). Actually, I found the definition of music very romantic and beautiful. It has a lot of meanings like: tenderness, love and familiarity. I feel like there is a strong connection between the music and the heart. So, let us recognize music and know more aspects about it. • 11. Music Influence On Music And Culture Imagine going through the whole day without music. No radio, no Apple Music, no Spotify; nothing. Most people fail to realize it, but music is a tremendous part of our everyday lives. But what makes music so appealing to the human race? Why do we depend on music to get us through the day or to relax us at night? Most people say they listen to music just because they like the way it sounds or they like the artist that sings the song, but there are much deeper psychological reasons why people turn on the radio in the car or plug in their ear buds at work. Music "provides a means of escape," and it helps our overall outlook on life and the world we live in (SchГ¤fer). Music is crucial to society and culture due to its effects on our psyche and its power to bring people together. It creates a satisfying and unifying emotional connection. A survey completed by Edison Research, a company that provides election poll data and other important statistics for the public, revealed that an average American listens to four hours of music a day (Peoples). When your car turns on so does the radio, and the average American listens to music on the way to work or school every single day. This shows exactly how impactful music is in society. Not only does it shape us individually, but it shapes our culture as a whole. According to Nielsen Music reports, Hip–Hop is the most listened to genre of music in the United States, followed by Rock and Pop (Chesman). This can be a very good thing or a ... So, the second question of the chart would be: How does music affect consumer behavior? It is a simple fact that most music of today is composed, distributed, sold and bought, performed and listened to for some commercial purposes. One of the main purposes is selling. Nowadays the main concept of this modern world is to make more money, as everybody knows; customers are the main source of the companies' income, whether you make products, goods or service. Moreover, managers and marketers try to attract more consumers by using different tricks. One of them is to influence customers' behavior by music and sounds. First of all, on an average day, the average person watches an hour and a half of the commercial television stations, of which fifteen minutes will be made up solely of advertisements. Approximately half of all advertisements will have music (Fellows, 1998, para.1). Good music can contribute to the effectiveness of an advertisement by making it more attractive. A good music engages the attention of an audience, evoke emotions and sometimes make audience to dance and sing. Philosophical Optimism is looking at all things positive, no matter how bad things may be. With this belief, Leibniz, through his discoveries in science and mathematics, was able to create Calculus. • 17. Music Is The Language Of The Universe To many, music is seen as the language of the universe. Therefore, when we don't have the right words to say, music speaks. We turn to music when we don't know how to express our feelings, don't have anyone to turn to, to help us through the tough times, or simply is just a form of therapy for our soul. When it comes to people trying to cope with mistakes, doubt, and depression many of us tend to turn to sad music because it is what allows us to comprehend how we are feeling on the inside. Also, the connection we make to sad music helps us identify our emotions and how we feel by the meaning of the lyrics. Many may say that all sad music does is cause more depression and makes us feel worse about ourselves or the situations we are in, but in this case, personally I believe that sad music affects our emotions in a good way. I can attest to this because I am one of those people that will turn to sad music when I am going through very rough hardships because it is what gets through to me and helps me cope with how I am feeling. I understand that others prefer to listen to happy music when they are in a funk because they feel that happy, and upbeat music is what will make them feel better, but in reality, I think it just distracts them for a little while until they go back to how they originally felt. Therefore, I strongly believe that sad music affects our emotions in a more positive manner. For many, sad music is very therapeutic. Sad music is known to be very popular for ... • 19. The Effects Of Classical Music On Music What is defined as "good" or "real" music? How does an individual come to define that? Many would say that classical music is "real" music since it is the basis of music that is created today and it has lasted through time. It is still heard today, one of the first types of music to last. Others may strongly disagree; even though it has stood the test of time what actually makes this the sole definition of "good" music? It doesn't, there really is not a true universal definition. There are multiple views on what is considered "real" or "good" and that is what needs to be brought to attention, that there is not a single wrong or right in this field. Merriam–Webster defines "good" as adequate or satisfactory ("Good"). Music has impacted my life and many others lives so greatly, I thought what better time to highlight some of the many benefits of music, in schools, mental health and how music affects our brain. According to Anita Collins, a neurologist with a Ph.D. in music, every time we listen to music, there are fireworks going off in our brains. Multiple different areas work together to process the music you hear, taking apart things like melody and rhythm, then putting them back together in a split second like a backyard fireworks show. Cool right? But what's even cooler is when we learn to play an instrument, the backyard firework show is now a spectacle. Every time a musician plays their instrument it uses almost every part of our brain. especially parts such as the motor, auditory and visual cortices. Which basically means the parts of our brains we use for movement, seeing and reading, and listening. The test was carried out in a quiet room with first, no sound then a 'steady state speech' (in this case three was repeated), 'changing state speech' (numbers from 1–9 were repeated in a random order), then liked and disliked music. The study showed no significant difference between 'changing state speech', or liked (pop) and disliked (metal) music. All three were equally distracting. 'Steady state speech' produced higher results because it is easier for the brain to tune out repetitive noises. Value: This study successfully shows that certain noises/music can be more distracting than others. The author refers to studies conducted by universities and uses information from professionals.Limitations: Even though classical music was not played during this study, it shows how other music can be a distraction to concentration. Although this is a complex issue, my passion has always involved music and an interest in how it affects how people react and think. I play the violin, and from personal experience I have noticed that when I am playing I have an emotional connection to the piece, whether it is sad, happy, or even upsetting. I have also noticed that the audience has an emotional impact based on what was performed. I plan to research scientific journals that record information and tests on how listening to music affects the brain and to look for documentation of someone exposing music to a culture that has no access to music and ... Also, I would like to know if music has an effect on the brain that is significant enough for people to consider having their kids learn an instrument in order to get a head start on school and boost their intelligence. I began and followed my research plan by starting out by picking a few articles that discuss music in relation to the brain. I picked my article out based on what interests me most, which is music. I began by researching how music effects people and what emotional impact it has on people. Then, I came across articles with information about projects and research that had been done involving the brain and its connection to the spoken language. So far, I have located my sources through the internet using google. All of the articles that I have found have been very helpful and include sources of experiments done with results. They also include quotes from the researchers involved with the experiment and comments made by renowned scientist like Darwin. I had to form questions based off of the articles and use information I already had from being a musician to help with that process. Questions that helped guide my research were based on experiments that had been done regarding the brain and the question of how musical communication evolved. The emotional and universal aspect also brought up interest throughout my research that inspired a few questions about music today compared to music in the past. I found evidence to back up my ... • 33. The Importance Of Controversy In Art Art has been apart of humanity for about 300,000 to 700,000 years and has served as a form of expression ever since. With expression comes interpretation and with interpretation comes controversy. Controversy can be found in all forms of art such as music, illustrations, and even television shows. Controversy in artwork can affect the consumer in numerous ways and some may argue how the controversy affects the consumer. Author Jessica Hopper shows how controversy in art can lead to a stronger emotional connection with the art and the consumer. Jessica Hopper, an author as well as music critic, speaks about her personal experience with the controversy regarding emo music and how women are given no life. Author Jesse Hassenger shows how controversy can negatively affect the consumer. Hassenger talks about James Rolfe, also known as "The Angry Video Game Nerd", who posted a viral video about the controversy regarding the new Ghostbusters adaptation. I believe the effect controversy has on its consumer is completely dependent on the thoughts and beliefs the consumer has on the subject at hand. Author Jessica Hopper would argue that controversy has a positive effect on the consumer because it gives the consumer a stronger emotional connection with the artwork. This is evident in her writing "Emo: Where The Girls Aren't". Hopper is a fan of the emo genre in music. Hopper feels that women have been locked out of this genre that she appreciates so much. She states "Girls in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Music : The Means Of Music And Music? Art is an important part in human society. But what is the definition of art? It is something that has been with us since the beginning of mankind and has been evolving ever since. Since that time, arts have been a changing frontier and can imply many things. It can mean art through painting, architecture, video games, movies, etc.. People resonate with a specific kind of art they partake in and in this case music is my prefered form of art because it is meaningful to me in a spiritual, academic, and creative way. However most communities are extremely wary about music and its effects on us. They are saying that it is just a hobby and what we are experiencing is a placebo effect that educators in music have placed in our heads. But in this attempt to persuade and state the truths about the non–coincidental things happening in the minds of a musician. To show that playing music is no hobby but almost a necessity as we progress into the future. I must show off my personal and logical/statistical evidence to explain that the effects of music is real. The power of music can affect a person's brain neurologically. This means how they think and what their mood is completely different than ones of a non–musician. Music can be applied to other things and not to music itself. It is a topic which can be connected to other things such as things in academia. (In this case math, science, english, etc..) But most importantly is what folks seem to undermine the most and that is the power ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Personal Narrative: How Music Affects My Life Music is a powerful force. Music strongly affects our emotions, brings back memories, changes the way we express ourselves, and it can even affect our health. Music shapes our personality in ways we do not notice. The following three song's show how my life has changed and how songs can be used to retell one's own past through someone else's lyrics. Firstly, I chose the song "Don't you worry child" by Swedish house mafia because It's about people going through tough times in their life... It's a song meant to empower you to keep pushing forward, living in the world around you, rather than "in the pictures on the wall" (the past). Many parts of the song's lyrics I use to compare to my own life. I used to live in a "happy home" when I was a younger, When I was 12–years–old, my parents separated and those days of being in a "happy home" were gone for me; and I still think about it from time to time, just like in the lyrics ""Those days are gone, and now the memories are on the wall"" and the words "my first heartbreak" when my parents separated. Moving to Ohio everything changed for me; I changed schools, changed houses, and got new friends. It was difficult dealing with the new environment, However, friends and family would always tell me "Don't be anxious about what you can not change, do what you can and do not worry about the ... Although I am now living in another country, the only thing that could affect me is the moment with fast food and coffee, about which we could read, but nevertheless the knowledge of the language at a different level and communication with people helped me to uncover a number of factors, How much the world is different. In the sense that globalization can influence us in terms of thinking, because we thought at home differently than when we are in another country, and we have to think and act differently. We could read above how the globalization of the pop industry influences the world, the young generation's world that movies and TV shows dictate to the world how we live and dress. The world of music I want to talk about it and about how music affects globalization. After all, every nation and people has and has the roots of musical style and sound (its folk music) but the tendencies of the new world are changing everything and the US is one of the biggest industries that influence it. We remember how the first emo, Goths and other fans of these themes appeared. And the fact that music affects us on our feelings, because under every mood we listen to different music. When sad we listen to the sad and etc. Everyone has his own idol which we end up trying to please. As a result, the younger generation forgets the style and sound that was inherent in its people. Music is one of the easiest wat to connect with other people and convince them about something, because everyone listens to it regardless of the genre. Music has certain ways of affecting the way consumers shop by determining what brand they will buy, or how much products they will purchase. Some songs that are an example of how music and effect consumers' behaviors is "Love Yourz" by J. Cole, "Save Dat Money" by Little Dicky featuring Fetty Wap and "Time of Our Lives" by Neyo featuring Pitbull. In the article "The Science of Shopping" by Malcom Gladwell he states, "After an hour or so, it's no longer clear whether simply by watching people shop– and analyzing their every move – you can learn how to control them" (103).
