audience feedback- what they expect from a paranormal horror movie.

1. AUDIENCE EXPECTATIONS OF
HORROR!
We sent out a questionnaire to see what
people though of paranormal horrors- we
only got 2 replies

8. Although we only got 2 replies and neither of them liked paranormal horrors,
we did find that both of the replies we had said that they would have thought
a good paranormal horror would be rated 15-18. Person one said that they’d
find it more scary if the paranormal entity took the form of a child which we
decided that we were going to do, they also both said tat there should be a
large element of ‘the unknown’ as that is what creates the most fear. Both
participants said that they though a haunted house would be a good place
for a paranormal horror to be based, Others who we asked personally
suggested a grave yard. The first participant said that they would prefer to
actually not be able to see the antagonist as it adds tension- we took this on
when creating our antagonist but instead of not making him show up at all
we wanted to make him a shadow figure, this was partly because they said
that the scenes where you know there’s something there but the other
characters don’t see or believe in what is going on, are to scariest bits to
them.
