The EV has a strange history which all started in the 1800s. The first invention that contributed to
the EV was the lead–acid battery; the battery was constructed mainly of lead, copper, and an acid.
Back then people had no use for an EV which was incredibly slow and wasn't rechargeable.
However, a major step for fuel cells in the 1800s was by William Grove, "[w]hile experimenting
with electrolysis [breaking up of water into gases] in 1839, Sir. William Grove discovered that the
reverse was also true." (Syndor, 57). Grove was accredited with the invention of fuel cells because
of this.
The most popular battery powered EV was offered by General Motors, and was on a lease only basis
for about the price of a BMW, or a Lexus. The new EVs are self–sustaining, so they don't need to be

Marx is often connected with critiques on capitalistic societies. In a capitalistic society such as
America, individuals are primarily driven by the accumulation of profit. Marx believed that social
inequalities in capitalist societies were molded by competition over resources and various goals. He
theorized that wealth, power, and various advantages would eventually become disproportionately

Laying down in your bed, you hear this consistent knocking. You try to sleep through it but it seems
as if it will never quit. Curious, you roll out of bed away from the comfort of your wife's warm body
but cautiously move closer, step by step downstairs into the direction of the sound. Each step you
take wondering whether or not your house is being robbed. You finally ease your way downstairs
and quickly flip the light switch only to find your home empty and totally void of any damage or
evidence of a theft of any kind; however, you still hear the sound. You notice it's coming from your
front door, but its 3 A.M. on a school night. The hairs on the back of your neck begin to rise and
your heart beats faster, wondering who is violently knocking on your front door. You remember the

The reason why attention is being focused on this point, is because in 2012, Best Buy suffered a net
loss of $1,314 billion and in 2013 it was a little bit better with loses of $430 million according to the

On quick observation, one can notice that there is a constant turnover of senior executives as well as

Buy store number 343) wrote a report to the general manager explaining how costly their 7% yearly

conducted on the staff that were leaving (just before they left), they found that the staff left for the

The science–fiction film genre serves as an excellent medium for examining shifting power
structures, social paranoia and Cold War politics during the 1950s. A number of films released
during this period, including: Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956), The Day the Earth Stood Still
(1951), Them (1954) and Attack of the 50ft Woman (1958), are particularly symptomatic of the
social and political atmosphere of the time. These films navigate not only narrative based issues
such as the threat of aliens and science experiments gone wrong; but also wider issues of the time,
such as the Cold War, changes in the US film industry, urbanisation, politics, the growing power of
women and most significantly, social concern about nuclear energy.
Before analysing individual science–fiction films from the 1950s, it is important to gain a clear
understanding of the social, cultural and political background against which these films were set.
Paranoia is a term frequently used to describe an acute, anxiety dominated medical condition
(Paranoia, 2009), however in the context of 1950's America, this term can be used more accurately
to describe the general, delusionary mood of the nation. The first important event that influenced a
paranoiac filmmaking atmosphere was the Cold War. As opposed to the 'hot war' (WWII) that
involved active military hostilities, the Cold War was based on heightened tension and suspicions
between Western Bloc (USA) powers and Eastern Bloc (Soviet Union) powers (The

When it comes to comic book films it's always tough to isolate your actual thoughts of the film from
your initial fanboy reaction. For example, I still love 'Avengers: Age of Ultron', but I now recognize
that the film had a few problems I might have flouted in favor of a kneejerk reaction. In a few weeks
people are likely going to feel similarly about this film. Despite what you might have heard, this
film isn't flawless, in fact, it actually has quite a few glaring errors, and it's likely that a lot of us are
going gloss over them due to the immense excitement surrounding this film.
A considerable amount of 'Ant–Man' feels derivative and cliché, which is precisely the opposite of
what I'd anticipated. This is such a unique and different character, it seemed almost inevitable that
the film would share similar attributes, sadly, that happened to not be the case. I accredit that to a
few things, primarily the departure of Edgar Wright and his replacement in Peyton Reed ('The
Break–Up', 'Yes Man'). Edgar Wright, director of 'Shaun of the Dead' and 'Hot Fuzz', was attached to
direct this film for around nine years (even before 'Iron Man'), but after some "creative differences"

Like I said, it easily lends itself to being very cinematic and interesting, but that doesn't change the
fact that Reed knocked the use of the suit out of the park. There's a training montage in the middle
of this film, it does feels like an Edgar Wright rip–off, but it's still one of my favorite scenes in the
film. I still would have preferred Edgar Wright do it himself, but regardless, I love training
montages (especially in 'Rocky IV') and I definitely feel this film does justice to the training

Often in today's society people become "invisible" due to their race, ethnicity, gender, sexual
orientation, religion, or social class. They are often shunned away or discriminated against because
of these factors. The spirit of this book is defined by the will to overcome personal tragedy and
social injustices.
The book's main focus is on the gradual disillusionment of the narrator and his personal battles. In
particular, the book develops the battle the narrator faces when he discovers the truth about the
Brotherhood organization. He eventually realizes that they are using him for their own purposes and
encouraged him to incite the blacks to a riotous level so they will kill one another. The narrator
develops feelings of hopelessness when it becomes apparent that he is being betrayed by both white
and black cultures. His overwhelming feeling of emptiness comes to a climax when he falls into a
manhole during a riot. While hibernating in the underground black community, the narrator
struggles to find meaning in his invisibility and to come up with his true identity. The seclusion
allows the reader to realize the disillusionment of the narrator. Ellison does an incredible job of
getting inside the narrator's character and describing his emotional battle. At times it feels as if the

Sir Winston Churchill and Adolf Hitler have many similar qualities; these qualities enabled them to

Coleridge had been a neighbor, friend and collaborator of Wordsworth and their partnership
remained fruitful for the growth of English literature. Their publication of "Preface to Lyrical
Ballads" heralded the birth of Romanticism. Coleridge along with Wordsworth, librated 18th
century's poetry from the strict shackles and put along the road to new freedom and achievement.

say the least. This is a great book to be introduced into the world of the historical Jesus. Along with
the editors we have five contributors hence the name "Five Views". This includes Robert M. Price,
J.D Crossan, Luke Timothy Johnson, D.G Dunn and Darrel L. Bock. Each contributor presents their
own views of the historical Jesus presented in the gospels and what they believe. Backgrounds on
each of the authors are immense so I'll stick to what they majored in, what they wrote and what they

always another power to put the other in check.

Joseph Wells, a shopkeeper and cricketer, and Sarah Neal, a former domestic servant. He attended

at Wookey and later at Midhurst Grammar School. He studied biology and Darwinian evolution at
the Royal College of Science in London. Throughout his educational and professional career Wells

"Bones, she was diced–bones rolled on black." The Raped Girl's Father is a disturbing poem about a
girl who is "unluckily" raped, and how this brings incredible anger and shame to her father. Written
by Bruce Dawe, it contains an inept use of thought, feeling and language. It is an absorbing
evocation of the girl's feelings and her horrendous suffering, and how her identity has changed as a
consequence of the rape –for herself, her father and society.
In the first two lines, an aural image is employed to indicate a never–ending anger in the girl's father.
Dawe uses onomatopoeia to create a disturbing and upsetting description of his enraged "buzz–saw

The malevolent personification of darkness creates the sense that it –symbolising her father, and
perhaps the rapist– wants to hurt, cause fear and distress, and is a genuine danger to her.
So the girl lies in "that darker dark", where there is simply no hope or relief of the grief that she is
feeling. What is this "darker dark"? This concept causes the reader to assume she has given up and is
powerless; that this dark is completely evil, and damaging her. A victim, she lies in what she
believes will not cease. For every second of her father's brutal anger she "feels his jaws rasp on the
naked bone." Another auditory image, this is an incredibly harsh sound that evokes disturbing
violence, a vicious sense of him biting and cutting into her. Furthermore, the girl "feels" pain to his
anger, right to her "naked bone" or her core. She is raw and exposed, and a disturbing impression of
death, violation and cruelty is conveyed. Because of the rape and the consequence of her father's
anger, she has lost all innocence and is utterly vulnerable.
In a crescendo of pain, devastation and hysteria, the girl mentions her terror in reliving the rape
when going through the justice system. Juxtaposed with the "jaws rasp[ing] on the naked bone", the

demonstrated by Louise's change in role throughout Scott's shrinking, and Scott's change of mind
throughout his misfortune. Louise is experiencing a change in her role, she goes from being the
house maker, to the woman in charge of her husband's livelihood. Scott, on the other hand, is
experiencing an entirely new world. His once familiar surroundings transform into an eternal
nightmare around him. This is shown throughout the movie in various ways following the
devastating fate bestowed on Scott, and the immense burden, emotional and physical, thrown onto
Louise's shoulders.
Phenomenology is the philosophical study of consciousness, it is the study of the real world and the
world of perception. Unlike most philosophies Phenomenology states that there is no gap between
the real world and what we see the world as. The only reason, according to Phenomenology, that we
each see different things when admiring the same object is because all of us experience the world in
various ways. Phenomenology is the study of us as human beings, our perceptions of the
macrocosm, and our intentionality. Louise began the movie by being a normal woman in the fifties.

Can it continue to maintain its stellar track record in light of the sudden decrease in demand,
especially with lower and lower profit margins resulting from price wars in the industry ? Should
Dell continue forward with its highly successful 'direct model' strategy to try and

sustain its profitability in light of the industry's –10% growth rate and 50% reduction in profit
margins in late 2000, or should it change its expectations and react to the commodity nature of the
environment? Dell's immediate challenge is to try and sustain its positive growth rate, spike its stock

The thought of Chicago hosting the world's fair would be daunting at first, but it could turn around
the reputation of Chicago from one of a city of gloom and darkness, to one of a city of light and
progress from the Great Chicago fire of 1871, and that city would be fascinating for years to come.
Chicago would get an economic shot in the arm from the revenue that it would get from hosting the

General George Patton, also known as "Blood and Guts", was and is known as one of the best there
was. "Patton was a highly effective pioneer, advocate, and exponent of modern mechanized warfare
as well as doctrine of highly mobile offensive." (Axelrod, 2006) The soldiers that served under
Patton in the Third and Seventh Army's knew him as a soldier's leader and took his death very hard.
They considered Patton one of the greatest men that ever lived. Patton professed to be a Christian
and was certain that "God destined him to military greatness." (Axelrod, 2006) Patton was an
incredible leader to the third and seventh armies, yet he was continuously threatened with being
removed from command. He suffered from dyslexia, deep depression, and episodes of hysteria
which made his confidence levels close to zero. Yet he led armies under him into victories that
exuded confidence. There were mothers that were terrified of Patton's tactics with their sons, but
Dwight D. Eisenhower was sure that those same tactics used by Patton would save those soldier's
lives. Patton was a strong leader that led by example. He fought with his soldiers and was on the
front line right beside them. When he spoke, he may have been feared, but he was also respected. He

Reading Memoir My earliest reading moments we're listening to Television and cartoons. I'm not
sure if that counts as reading but I was learning words at that time well hearing the words. I do
remember reading books like Junie B. Jones and If you give a moose a muffin.Beginning my

I began to have troubles with math, so my main focus was trying to get a better understanding of it
even though It was just something I didn't want to learn. I became lazy with subjects anything that
involved reading I would just push to the side. Once I started 8th grade I begin to realize that I
would need Reading to excel to highschool and it took me far too long to realize that. I didn't have
any excuses on why I didn't like math or reading, my parents use to encourage to start reading books
