Isla Roatan was beautiful once you got away from the tourist area, we watched so many people get wrapped up in that one spot they forgot about the

One of the restaurant workers stormed outside and demanded the man to leave the premises unless he was willing to get hit with a broom. My
heart felt heavy like if someone tied an anchor to it and slowly started to sink to the pit of my stomach. The poverty began to cease once I reached

With my family beside me, us holding our iPhones and walking in our new Nike shoes – I couldn't help but to feel the need to drop it all. My heart is a

A wide smile was spread across my face as I advanced towards the ship filled with excitement, my family loosely trailing behind. I felt that there

You see Carlos is quite a nice person to talk to with a great sense of humor and Rongxi also has quite an inviting personality but doesn't quite
converse as much. I didn't really get to know them until the 3rd night because I was a little busy. On the 4th day, we stopped off at Roatan for an
excursion to Pristine Bay Beach Resort. On the way to the resort, I was able to witness the condition of the people living there, which I'll say made
me appreciate how we live up in Canada. There was a flight of stairs leading from the reception desk to the infinity pool. There was also a path that

RoatГЎn Island off the edge of Guatemala has recently discovered a five–mile–long pile of trash. The heavy rains from the hurricanes this past fall is
where this trash has come from. Guatemala's government doesn't have a formal garbage collection. RoatГЎn Island is located about fifteen miles off
the edge of Guatemala. Trash pollution is becoming worse and worse in the Caribbean. Trash in ocean is harming more than 600 species worldwide.
From what we can tell from the photos of the trash in RoatГЎn that the trash is anything from plastic bags to leather. Guatemalan people aren't
disposing of their trash correctly; all they do is juts pile their trash up on the side of the riverbanks and when the rain comes and washes it into the

7.What summer experience has been of significance to you? Why?
Summer of 2017 at Cornell's condensed 6 weeks semester with credit, taught by their professors was a sheer pleasure.
It gave me a true preview of the college experience.
I learn to speak with not talk to my professors and teaching assistants when I needed help and to discuss class topics to further my knowledge by
exploring the topics with them in conversations.
I learned to plan, such as checking my email frequently for posted assignments a week before they were due, instead of a day, like in high school.
I had to learn to manage my time more effectively.
No adult or parents telling me what to do; I was completely free.
The Cornell Summer College allowed me to gain the responsibility that comes with real freedom.

My parents have always adhered to our seeing the USA. Our travels have been on holidays, when our parents have conventions, and a combination of
exploring America's historic sites, national monuments, learning about history through museums, unique settings such as Sturbridge Village, and
