1.After Amadeo l had abdicated the first
Republic in Spain was proclaimed.

considered themselves

8. THE SECOND
REPUBLIC
It lasted eight years from 1931to 1939

9. 2.It was divided into three periods:
The Liberal Period.
a)A new constitution was develop in 1931.
b)Womens were allowed to vote.
c)Primary education was obligatory and free.
d)Less was given to the catholic church.
e)Less power was given to nobles and more power was given was given to the
working class.
f)Divorce was consider legal.
g)More autonomy was given to spanish regions.
3.Manuel Azaña was a president of the goverment and a president of the
republic.
He was born in Alcala de Henares.
