5. Describe the important properties of liquid and solid propellants desired for rocket
propulsion.
6. (i) Derive the expressions for the characteristic velocity in terms of combustion
Chamber temperature.
(ii) Describe the working of a multi-stage rocket.
7. Describe with the aid of illustrative diagrams of any two arrangements of solid
propellant grains employed for restricted and unrestricted burning. Indicate the
directions of burning and flow of gases.
