2. To help show the story/message
 Helping people understand the story will assist them
in understanding what is the message of the song for
example to not listen to what everyone tells you to do
which might not be understood though the lyrics so
the video will help people understand it and the
message it tries to convey this can be done though
symbolism e.g. colour of cloths or the actions of the
people in the video this can be done for a few
reasons to make people want to know the resolution
and buy the album to find out, to try help people feel
more in touch with the song if it is about issues the
person deals with them self.

As you can see on the left I have taken
several pictures of Bruno mars grenade
and placed them in order (top down left
right) which tells a story that is very
easy to understand with out the full
video or lyrics which means those who
would not understand the song
otherwise can and allows them to feel
the full effect of it artist is has a goal (
getting the girl to love him showed
before the first picture) he goes though
many hardships to find her and then
finds her with some one else gets
depressed and then in the final seen we
can see him in fount of a train moving
towards him.

brand
 This is done by music videos as many people do not have the
money or do not live in places that they can e.g. in green land
as they do not have bands come by them this is important as
it can help people to see an artist and recognise them which
intron makes them more likely to down load their songs as
well as this it can help to increase a artist star factor which will
then make people aspire to be like them and but their
products and music so they can try and imitate them so they
feel closer and more like the star, though this is not always as

symbol or logo for example iron maiden are known by the
Skelton Eddie which appears in rock and war gear to show
they are a rock band with a tough attitude.

for the company
 Music videos can be made to help show case up and
coming artists with larger ones for example big time rush
made a video with snoop dog so that they could expand
the people who had heard of them to a larger audience
which would allow them to sell more albums and make
more money that they would otherwise this also benefits
snoop dog as it allows for hit to appear with a group that
has a different audience than him self which in turn allow
him to expand his fan base as well just not to the same
extent collaborations can also help determine what sort of
reputation the artist will have this is because if you do
large numbers of collaborations with people of the same
sort of reputation this will also help give you the same one
as them although this is not always the case such as big
time rush who collaborated with snoop dog despite a
different type of reputation.

8. Male gaze theory
 The male gaze theory describes that men are more likey to
watch something if they see skin and used in a large number
of music videos because of this to try and make people
watch it more or to catch their eyes and try to get them to
start with this one such example would be wreaking ball by
milly Cyrus which shows an large amount of skin so that they
can bring in more people may songs use they through and
display its features even when the song in question has
nothing to link it to such themes such as …… and while I
believe that it is understandable for some songs to feature it I
also believe it can also ruin a song if used incorrectly for
example if it is featured a large amount on an innocent
romance song which can instead of helping to show the
message hides it making it harder to be seen and
appreciated.

 One purpose of the creation of synergy which is the idea that
you take something, and move it across multiple platforms so
more people will be able to listen/watch the artist, meaning
they can create more merchandising for their band and make
more people want to go to their concerts, meaning they will
make more money form it for example Eminem started to
make movies write books once he had established himself as a
singer, as his audience would watch and read what he made or
was in, this means they would pay him more money. Also this
meant people who had not heard his music could be lead to it
by his book or wonder who he was form his videos, making
them check him out increases their fan base. This is also seen
not just in artist but in large companies for example Disney
make books movies animation release sound tracks and make
games.

11. Example beatles
 The Beatles were an English rock band, which was formed in Liverpool in
1960. it’s members were John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison
and Ringo star they disbanded in 1970 and while the did several tracks
together with one or to of their ex band mates the never had an album to
gather as one again.
 The beetles found popularity in 1961 and gain fame at a rapid rate going
to America not long after but they did not only involve them selves in
music in as early as 1964 they started in their first movie a hard days night
which focused in their life style and made 4 more films form then to 1969
and are getting a new film dedicated to them this year (2016) but as well
as movies they also expanded to book having written several of them
though out their years and having many wrote about them while they were
not involved.

12. Help promote the album to make
more money
 By making music videos people might see the song
and like it making them want to hear other music that
that the artist has made which will lead them to buy
their albums or download their songs form iTunes

money if they can get the music videos on the disc as
well as the sound as that is adding value. This can also
make people more likely to purchase posters or
mechanise if the recognise the face of the person it
shows one artist that uses this is iron maiden Though
the use of placing an image of the album at the end or
start of the video so it does not interrupt the video it
self. But this is not a trait that is used in all music
videos as there are also ones that do not include this.

13. Example of ways music videos can help
promote album
 One of the most common ways that music videos who an album is if they
place a image of the album they are promoting at the end as then it does not
interfere with the video but this can also be at the start as well as this by just
making people hear the song it is possible to help increase audience for the
album to own that one song.
 Although it is not done often on some occasion it is showed in the video either
though a scene e.g. playing an old record with the albums cover or it can be
seen in the back ground which can better help the audience focus and see it
directing more people their but it is also possible the audience will react badly
and end up not buying the album as a result of this.
 In the end the way that an album goes about it the end goal is the same to
make money and promote the artist and are not just made by the artist out of
the kindness of their heart but instead financial money.
