Describe a diode array detector and CCD camera. Differentiate between them in terms of the output and how signal is collected. Solution diode array detector are linear array fabricated in single strip of semiconductor. They are used in high level application and they are available in single or double array. typically diode array detector cost less than CCD and have similar spectral senitivity in some range. CCD means charge coupled device . these are also built in single semiconductor chip but they are two dimensional. here pixels are read out sequentially. down side is CCD have long response time than diode array..

  • 1. Describe a diode array detector and CCD camera. Differentiate between them in terms of the output and how signal is collected. Solution diode array detector are linear array fabricated in single strip of semiconductor. They are used in high level application and they are available in single or double array. typically diode array detector cost less than CCD and have similar spectral senitivity in some range. CCD means charge coupled device . these are also built in single semiconductor chip but they are two dimensional. here pixels are read out sequentially. down side is CCD have long response time than diode array.
