The Is A New Mother Or Father
Imagine you are a new mother or father. The pure joy and fear of this new adventure can be very
overwhelming. Seeing that bright smile on your little ones face and the light in their eyes. Now
picture the worst thing to ever happen. You go into you little bundle of joys room to check on them.
You expect to see their chest moving up and down, but instead you see a blue limp form that is your
baby. Fear overwhelms you. You cry out for help and call 911. The dispatcher on the other end of
the phone tells you that help is on the way. You hope to hear sirens screaming into the night and you
hope to hear it soon. You put your faith in those paramedics and that they will be at your home soon
and to help your little one. Seconds seem like minutes. Hours seem like days. Finally you hear tires
screeching, a police officer, who was right down the road came to see if he could help. Alas, most
police officers are not trained in CPR and have no advanced medical knowledge. You plead with
him, inquiring where the ambulance or fire truck is. He sadly informs you that the ambulance that
usually responds to this area is tied up on another run. They would have been here before him, but
they were taking care of a non–emergent problem. Someone wants to go to the hospital because
their foot has been hurting for a week now, and they decided now was the time to go to the ER. I
wish this were a made up story. I wish I could say things like this don't happen that often.
Unfortunately, the abuse and

Summary Of Texas Hold Em Poker
As for the method we applied to discover the probability and bet on the odds in the Texas Hold'em
Poker, there are two main stages: First of all, we replicate the common conditions after the flop, the
given condition we discuss here is heads–up limit Texas Hold'em Poker. In that way, we first sort out
all the possible poker hand combinations for one player, figuring out the possibility for each starting
hand to form a specific poker hand. Then, we analyze the opponent's winning probability given the
five cards we already known. Based on the winning probability and pot odds, a wiser player could
bet with more information and confidence through the whole process rather than focus only on the
current situation and decides blindly on that. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The program of the project is designed to compute the probability for Player A and Player B based
on the probabilities we covered in the tables above in 3.2.2 and 3.2.3. Its purpose is to simplify the
process of finding out the probabilities so that the project is more user–friendly. The program we
shown here calculate one condition in 3.2.2 as an example, input five numbers range from 1 to 52
that represents five cards that makes Player A' poker hand is Full house, the program will conduct an
operation to find out the suit and rank represented by this number. Then, knowing the five cards with
their suit and rank, the program will check the validity of the input by counting the number of cards
that have the same rank and proceeds to the next stage if input is valid. The second stage of the
program is to calculate the probability for Player B to win by categorize the poker types of the input
first and match the correspondent probability formulas then to work out the precise number for
Player B. Generally speaking, the project has successfully achieved the goal of calculating the
probability for a Heads–up Limit Texas Hold'em Poker between Player A and Player B in the stage
of flop. It covers all the possible conditions of Poker hand types when five cards are known by
single player, and gives the probability to help the player make the best decision in the stage of flop
with much more information than opponent so they could bet on the odds wisely to outperform the
opponent in the long run. However, the project do have its limitations due to its method as we
concluded in 3.1, and the program for the project is not complete due to its complexity

Why Do Pocket Aces
There are a lot of myths that develop everyday which do nothing but confuse the mind of Omaha
players. You may never know the reason behind all of these myths, but one thing is certain, and that
is the fact that the myths should be busted. When talking about Omaha, I would seldom hear people
say that aces never win in Omaha, as if the card possesses some mystical power. Basically, pocket
aces are two–card hands in a game wherein a five–card hand wins. Some people would regard aces
as nothing special, and sometimes not even a part of the playable hand. Such as flopping a set,
taking aces for granted will surely spell losing. Aces have the tendency to take over good Omaha
hands which simply connote Omaha hands having one ace in them. However, ... Show more content

Being realistic to yourself is the first step to eventual success; and even if you don't become the next
Johnny Chan or Chris Moneymaker you can still become a good poker player with a rewarding
experience and some extra cash in your pocket. Since the majority of 'semi–pros' make their poker
livings online, that's the area I'll focus on for this article. I personally think if your making even a
partial income through online poker you are in fact a 'pro' in many aspects. My experience with
online poker was a wild ride and still continues to be. I only play No–Limit Texas Hold Em and to
quote the movie Rounders– "In No Limit not only can you watch a man lose all his chips in a single
hand, but his mind along with it". I got my start playing a few small cash games at college with
friends, losing to my one friend quite often. Off and on I dabbled in online poker to brush up on my
skills and have some fun. I've also played in small tournaments, my largest in person one being with
over 150 people. One day I decided to take the financial plunge and play for cash online. Within a
few hours my initial bankroll quadrupled; I felt I was playing excellent poker with some added luck
of course. I of course hit a bad beat and my bankroll dwindled; within a week I lost not only my
initial bankroll but more then I would've liked to from my financial portfolio. So heres a few tips
from my real world experience and I think advice others would support as well especially relevant in
online poker. – Most poker sites will let you set a deposit limit; Full Tilt where I play was nice
enough to set the minimum limit after my string of bad beats which protects me from letting my
emotions get the best of me. – Make sure your bankroll is enough to pad your playing for a while.
Always do the max buy in at a table (advice I didn't heed early on) so you can survive the blinds

Use Of Mathematics In Texas Hold Em Poker Game
Thesis: How significant is the use of mathematics in the Texas Hold'em Poker Game? How can you
deduce the probability of winning and infer the strategy from your starting hand?
Rationale:
I have decided to focus this math exploration project on the mathematics within the leisure card
game Texas Hold'em. On first impression, the outcome of any poker game seems to be entirely
arbitrary and based solely on the player's pure luck. However, after we dismiss the wildy
exaggerated poker "legends" we see in myriads of television programs and movies, in reality experts
in the game of poker who are just able to have a higher win rate than amateurs do exist. If this game
is simple based on random fortune, there would not be the various competitions held worldwide
each year and the game would have been a lot less interesting. The strategies within poker games
consist of two categories, mathematics and psychology, with the former determining and altering the
latter. Therefore, in this investigation I would seek to explore the factors in the first pre–flop that
sets the tone for the duration of the round; how would the initial hand determine what would be
advantageous in the flop; and what distinguishes experts from the amateurs.
Introduction:
Each poker deck has fifty–two cards, each designated by one of four suits (clubs, diamonds, hearts
and spades) and one of thirteen ranks (the numbers two through ten, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace). In
the game Texas Hold'em, we can deduce the

My Love For Art
Ever since I was a child I have always had a creative mind. My weekends as a little girl revolved
around trips to the craft store, crazy projects in the kitchen and dance routines. During the summer
months, I would make the most elaborate journals, with each journal entry paired with their unique
picture, many of which that were either pop–up or holographic (sparkly nail polish was a must).
Within my high school career, I took the rigorous, I.B. higher level
Visual Arts. This course stretched my creative mind. Piece by piece and year by year my artistic
style warped and developed into my own. Towards senior year, my painting had a signature style,
recognizable even without my name signed in the lower corners. I participating in local art
competitions and was inspired by students my age and their love for art too. When considering what
I wanted to pursue career–wise in life I knew I would be restricting myself if I did not follow my
heart and go a creative route. Fashion merchandising was a perfect blend of business and creativity.
It is an industry that never stops and is limitless in opportunities. As a Texas resident, I eagerly
applied to schools only out of state. I wanted to jump into college and surround myself with diverse
people in a foreign area. The University of South Carolina caught my eye because of its nationally
recognized program in Fashion Merchandising. I toured the university and fell in love with the
school's history, traditions and support from its staff.

Personal Narrative : Billy The Goat In The Ligeria
Prologue
Billy the Goat was a Goat. No questions asked. He was the terror of the City of Billyoligia. A
beautiful castle on a Mt. Billyupidus, a 3,000 ft. tall plateau that was about even with sea–level.
Billy had a wingspan of 20 ft. he had poison and had fangs as long as swords, he also could breathe
fire in dire situations. He had only retreated once due to the holyniss of a holy–hand grenade thrown
by the Popester who was, sadly, consumed in the explosion. But Billy the Goat was feared
throughout the plateau.
Now he was up in his castle playing a game of Texas–Hold 'em with his friends The Big Donkey
and Phredd. The peeps had said that he was also watching Sunday Night Foosball, the famed sport.
They have had the castle for over 20 years and have held it firm since then. The only payment so
that the smaller town was not destroyed is that they have to bring large shipments of Çandy. Çandy
was the most valued substance in the world at that time.
The Castle has been under siege for the past 5 years though, the citizens of Billyoligia had been
trying to wreck the castle while still bringing in the shipments of Çandy, which is pretty hard to do.
The castle had been draped in Billy's shed impenetrable skin which had taken several years but now
made the castle nearly impossible to enter, so Billy could play Foosball with his friends.
Billy had become this way because of a very tragic event that had happened in his childhood
involving a wizard, Griffin, and a Basilisk. So, a

Personal Narrative: My First Football Game
Five of us sat in a dim room around an oval table. All of us ready to play a routine game of Texas
Hold 'em. The room was fairly bare other than the table we play on, a small television, and a vast
iconic American flag. The small television was tuned to a sports channel, but the volume was
obscenely low. They were covering all the week one College football games. Although we could not
hear what they were saying we all had our eyes glued to the television. This first week of football
was a rough one. My favorite team lost their opening game. This was why I desperately needed a
win today. The table we sat around was set with an immense bag of chips, and a smaller bowl of
cheese dip that lay next to it. I thought the chips tasted bland, although I could not resist a chip
covered in the warm mouthwatering cheesy goodness. Only one distinctive aroma cut through the
air, which was the scent of sharp bold cheddar. This cheese dip was transcending just ... Show more

There were four metallic colors blue, red, green, and white. One additional pearl chip stood out from
the rest, the word dealer was printed in bold black letters across the top of the chip. This was the
dealer's button, this button would sit in front of the dealer the entire duration of the game. Our dealer
was usually Josh because he doesn't find the game entertaining, he mainly attends our poker
gatherings for food and company. Josh began evenly issuing us our small round chips. Together we
decided the value of the distinctly colored chips. White chips were worth ten dollars, green were
worth fifteen, the blue were worth twenty, and red would be fifty dollars. We don't play for real
money so we had to distribute chips equally, giving everyone five of each color. Every person
started with four–hundred and seventy–five dollars. If you are lucky you can make that go very far,
although if you aren't as lucky you may find yourself empty handed fairly

Personal Narrative- My Trip to Colorado Springs Essay
My youth pastor pulled out of our church parking lot at three am in the morning loaded down with a
bus full of twenty four teenagers including me. We were off at last head to Colorado Spring
Colorado, little did I know, our bus was going to fall apart this very day.
The anticipation of this day had been building up for some time over that last few months, and now
it was upon me at last. I didn't feel the same excitement I had leading up to this moment, I even kind
of grumbled to myself about how I wished the bus was bigger so that I would be more comfortable.
We all had our assigned seats, but no one seemed to be where they were supposed to be. The
anxiousness of getting to Colorado was causing a great deal of confusion, chaos, and ... Show more

As you can understand we were in quite a bind, after the six adults talked amongst them self's they
informed us that they had decided to call for help from Colorado Springs, after all, that's where we
were headed any ways. The next call that was made was to get the help of a church youth group we
knew up there and see if we could use their two fifteen passenger vans to get us all to our hotel we
had reservations for in Colorado Springs.
So the long waiting process began, and after sometime of being bored I remembered I had a deck of
card sitting in my backpack, so after getting them me and a few of my friends began to play Texas
Hold' Em. After playing this for some time me and a few others began to lose interest, so I suggested
we play Life, they agreed. This turned out to be tons of fun and we continued this for about two
hours, by this time everyone was pissed from waiting. I was getting fairly irritated myself, but to my
great dismay about forty five minutes later our two vans arrived. We were all extremely excited, the
long wait was over at last, and after our youth leaders talk they decided that our youth pastor and
one of our other leaders would remain behind to wait for the tow truck, with this knowledge all of
use teens and four of the six adults loaded up and headed to Colorado Springs. We arrived at our
hotel around two hours later and to our great dismay it was the Home Wood Suit which is a Hilton. I

Bad Player Research Paper
As I've played limit holdem for over 100,000 hands, I've found that there are basically two types of
bad players. Not every bad player will fit in these two categories, but most of them will. Calling
Station The first type is the calling station. You'll find these players mostly in the small stakes. They
get their name from their favorite action – calling. They don't raise very much. And frankly, many of
them don't fold unless they have a really bad hand. They just love to call. They will call with good
hands and mediocre hands. They will call raises and reraises. They will call the raise of a player who
hasn't played a hand in an hour. Against calling stations, I will bet my good hands on every street.

But there is a problem with what he claims he is owed: 17–year old Rasheeda Umrani, as a bride.
The women of Pakistan have been infamously overlooked in terms of their rights. This case would
prove to be no different... THE GAME When Rasheeda was a one year–old, her father was a chronic
gambler, who during a poker game several years ago, offered his then infant daughter as a bride
when she grew up. This was to be "paid" in exchange for the debt that he amassed during his jaunts.
Rasheeda's mother, Nooran Umrani, whose husband is now deceased, claims that a group of elders
from a tribe in the Baluchistan province approached her in January regarding the girl. They
explained to her that according to tribal traditions, Rasheeda was required to marry Lal Haider's son,
Abdul Ghani, who is 23. Nooran Umrani also claims that although she had already satisfied her late
husband's debt ––– a mere $165, the group of elders threatened harm to her if she did not surrender
to their request. THE LAWS Unfortunately for Nooran Umrani, and her daughter Rasheeda, the
laws in Pakistan have been such that women have few legal rights. However, in this case Hyderabad

investigating the matter thoroughly. Authorities have claimed that they intend to arrest the men, who

Legalized Gambling In The United States
The prior chapter highlighted how the prohibition of gambling has been an abject failure. The
current era with widespread legalized gambling has its problems, but it is certainly an improvement
over the restrictive policies of the past. There are many contradictions and ambiguities in this
current era with widespread legalized gambling. For instance, numerous TV channels feature high
stakes professional poker tournaments, yet only 27 states allow social gambling. In other words, 23
states outlaw gambling among friends even if the host doesn't directly profit or have a "house edge."
Obviously, there is no danger to the community from a small–stakes house poker game among
family and friends. Accordingly, most police departments hardly consider ... Show more content on

Otherwise, these kinds of investigations are an obscene waste of resources and potentially dangerous
when SWAT teams are involved. Indiana is one of eighteen states where casino gambling is legal,
yet social gambling is illegal. The political debate with gambling has now changed dramatically
because there are a number of competing gambling interests. The debate has become less a question
of the pros and cons of legalization and more about which specific gambling interests stand to win
or lose. For this reason, it's unusual when politicians are upfront about their conflicts of interests.
One of those rare occasions involved Rep. Pat Rooney Jr. (R–FL), a member of the Rooney family
which owns the Pittsburgh Steelers and race tracks. Pat Rooney Jr. is also the President of the Palm
Beach Kennel Club and he was asked if he favored an expansion of legal gambling in Florida. He
recused himself from voting on the proposed legislation and candidly stated, "We would not be in

us, we would be for it." That truly is some refreshing candor in this day in

I Can Not Control The World
I am the type of person who likes to be in control. I was self–centered and felt the world should
revolve around me and my family which consists of my husband, Vince, and our boys, Cody and
Kyle. In 2008, I learned that I cannot control the world around me; there is a higher being for that,
and to cherish every moment I have with the people I love the most.
This story starts in 2000 when my husband received a job machining race motors in Mooresville,
North Carolina. This is 20 miles north of Charlotte and is considered part of NASCAR country. My
family and I packed up our belongings and moved on to a new adventure, leaving the rest of our

My favorite part of North Carolina were the azalea bushes. The bushes were in just about every yard
and the colors were beautiful with blooms that totally covered the bush with hot pink, light pink, and
white. The way the bushes were shaped and the colors reminded me of gumballs.
Then my world came crashing down. My husband and I were watching TV one evening when he
turned to me and said, "I want to move back to Texas."
"What for?" I asked. "I'm home sick. I want to be closer to my mom and to take care of her since
Bert has passed away she is by herself now." He said.
I was shocked. I said, "No! I love it here."
Vince looked exasperated with me and said, "Don't you want to be closer to your mom? She is not
getting any younger either."
I told him, "My mom is just fine. She can take care of herself."
I know that sounds harsh, but my mom and I are and have always been extremely close. At the time
she was living in Bryan–College Station and working for Texas A&M. She would come down a
couple times a year to spend time with us and we would take a whole day and go shopping, or I
would take her to a quaint little town to explore their downtown. On the way to where ever we were
going, we would talk about every subject under the sun. There were times when we were so
engrossed in our conversations that we would wind up getting lost. Mom is a great listener and a

Summary: The Annexation Of Texas
In 1844, James K. Polk, who favored annexation, was elected president of the United States.
Following his choice, Mexico once again reminded America that the annexation of Texas would be
perceived as an act of war. However, the Americans were more focused on the land they would be in
control of if Texas were annexed. On March 1, 1845 Congress passed the proposal for Texas'
annexation, making it officially part of the United States. Though it was official, Mexico still didn't
recognize Texas as part of the U.S. The Mexican ambassador claimed that the U.S had illegally
taken control of Mexican land. Polk then sent his negotiator, John Slidell, to Mexico to offer them
five million dollars for New Mexico and twenty–five million dollars for California. ... Show more

Although some may question the legality of drinking alcohol in public, let me declare that at least
it's in a can. As I sip on this bitter liquid, I inquire as to the source of the non–conventual thinking
that is Transcendentalism. Many themes seem reminiscent to eastern religions and Native American

Blogging Can Be For Leisure And Also For Business
Blogging can be for leisure and also for business. Many bloggers use their blog as a means to
making money and supporting that blog and some even are full–time bloggers making thousands of
dollars in a year. The first step to making money from blogging is to start blogging on a consistent
basis. Once this is established, advertise the blog to the audience it is aimed towards. This will
increase viewership in preparation for the next step. Once there are viewers and blogging has
become a routine, it is time to look at what companies pay bloggers. Google AdSense Google is the
king of advertising on the internet. Almost any website that plans to make any money has a Google
Ad on it somewhere. This Google Ad is created by the owner of the website using Google AdSense.
The coding for the ad is placed in the blog html so that is appears on the sidebar, top, or bottom of a
page. Many bloggers are also putting ads in the actual posts of their blog. The amazing thing about
Google AdSense is that is automatically determines what types of ads to place on the website or
blog by what type of content is already being published on the website or blog. This makes making
money much simpler as the owner makes money by how often the ads are clicked on. It is important
to have a strong viewership when using Google AdSense. Swagbucks Many recent articles have
trashed Swagbucks for being an inefficient way of making money online. The easiest way to make
money through Swagbucks is through

Essay On Pines
EASE ON SWEET SON
Houses are supposed to be pretty and white, you know, like the pictures show. Maybe black trim
around the long narrow windows and dancing little yellow flowers around the base with a few
mottled bricks here and there, looking like they just happened to show up. Blue–green short grass
too and a little orange dog chasing a stick with its tongue nearly dragging the carpet with glee.
Well this house wasn't like that; at least Jim's recollection pegs its presence as anything but. It was
white once, the pale lines underneath the siding edge showed that. Little blurry white lines,
survivors of many days of searing sun, pelting hailstorms and the nor'easter blizzards that swept
down the Plains with the ferocity of the charging ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then there was the team.
Upon awakening to his existence, Jim recounts the smell of the horses. The team gave off an
indescribable ballsy odor and were exciting and alive, their strength and magnificence enhanced by
the sweat–lathered white where the leather straps crisscrossed their haunches and the bold collars
encased the powerful forefront and lathered there too in the hot summer sun. Power, excitement and
personality right their ahead of Fred and little Jimmy, so unlike the stench of the gasoline and the
noise, then the diesel engines with even greater clatter that followed the seasons past the horses fall
from grace.
But the dogs would stay the course and old cur dog Brownie could grin in the blistering sun and
pant and laugh even harder in the shade of one of the evergreens. With the clay–loam earth clawed
away by sharp nails on the forefront of the cur, to make a home to loaf, a hollowing below the
surface of the hot ground to find coolness and comfort.
"How in hell can ol' cur dog laugh in all this scramble and confusion," Jimmy wonders. "Can't this
damn dog feel how hot it is through all that hair? What is there to laugh about?"
Classic cur for sure, Brownie, and he was a ratter, musta killed at least ten of the darn rodents one
time in what was one hell of a little war. Fred

Positive And Negative Effects Of Gambling
Human psychology is one variable of many that can lead a human to addiction. For pathological
gamblers, this is no different. About 2.2% of the US population is considered to have a gambling
problem. As more and more states legalize online gambling, it's important to understand both the
positive and potential negative effects of it. Cognitive biases, which affect gamblers and non–
gamblers alike, can explain the irrationalities of pathological gamblers, and how the casinos
generally make out in the end. "Gambling" could be defined as, "to stake or risk money, or anything
of value, on the outcome of something involving chance."(dictionary.com) Gambling has long been
a part of society, dating back to 2300 B.C when the Chinese invented a gambling game called tiles.
When done in moderation, gambling could be seen as fun and entertaining to one. However, some
people can't just have fun, they spend their entire net worth and ruin their lives because of it. The
average person may not understand how gambling addiction comes about. After all, many people in
society gamble in one form or another whether it's pools with friends, home poker games, or an
annual trip to the local casino. In addition, it can be done once for most people, without getting
addicted, similarly to drug addictions. "Behavioral, cognitive, and neurobiological profiles of
individuals with pathological gambling disorder resemble those of individuals with substance use

The French and Mexican Revolutions Essay
What is a revolution? By definition it means the overthrow of a government by those who are
governed. That is exactly what the French and the Mexican revolutions were all about. The living
conditions and overall treatment of the poor, pheasants, lower class, last man on the totem pole or
what ever you want to call them, was a large factor in the coming of these revolutions. "Those who
are governed" are exactly what the lower class people were. Also, liberty was one of the people's
major concerns. They were ruled by men whose only desire was power and greed which is what led
them into revolt.
The treatment of the "majority", which was the lower class, had a significant role in each of these
revolutions. The French revolution was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The "majority" or "creoles" (Mexican born natives) as they were called, "out number all the others
ten to one." (Robinson, Fay) Yet they were treated the worst and, by the way, they were the ones
who paid most taxes. These lower class peoples were forced to barely survive on meager pay for
manual labor and menial jobs. Many of them ended up peddling or begging in the streets.
(Americana)
The men that drove these revolts were very determined to change their world. When Marquis de
Lafayette, a French noble, went to America and fought as a volunteer in the American Revolution,
he was inspired by their quest for liberty. He brought this inspiration home with him, and began the
French pursuit for freedom. In 1788 "absolute monarchy was collapsing... What would replace it?"
(Mckay, 706). The three estates would quarrel for the next few years about how to proceed. In the
end the National Assembly would form, vowing not to disband until a new constitution was born.
On August 27, 1789 the National Assembly (NA) issued the: Declaration of the rights of man. By
1790 the NA would hold the power of lawmaking. Although it did not last long, the idea was there
and it did bring about some type of reform. Unfortunately, Napoleon would reign and dictatorship
would once again reign in France.
The Mexican Revolution had much of the same results as did the French. Encouraged by both the

Morality In No Country For Old Men By Cormac Lawrence
Morality in No Country for Old Men No Country for Old Men, written by Cormac McCarthy, is a
neo–western thriller set in the year 1980 where drug trafficking and violence along the Mexican
border were at its highest. The story draws the reader to Moss, an everyman who stumbles upon a
case filled with money during the aftermath of a failed drug trade. Soon after, he is being pursued by
both a sociopathic hitman named Chigurh and the town's sheriff Bell. The events that transpire
between these three are overshadowed by the fact that each character is morally ambiguous and each
character's morals are challenged in this story. Morality is a recurring theme throughout the novel,
and this is evidently seen in each chapter's monologue and towards the end. Bell, although he
questions his own morals due to the events that he has experienced and seen, is the symbol of
morality. McCarthy uses both symbolism and Bell's narratives to show how society's moral values
are gradually being degraded through each succeeding generation and how there is truly "no country
for old men." In the beginning of the text, Bell refers to a case where his testimony sent a 19–year–
old boy to the gas chamber to be executed. The papers stated that it was a crime of passion, but the
young man stated that it was no such thing and that he would do it again if given the chance. This
leaves a lasting impression on Bell. "I thought I'd never seen a person like that and it got me to
wonderin if maybe he was some

small and players are usually aggressive. This is because many new players are present at this stage
of the tournament with various playing styles. A great thing about the early stages of the tournament
is that players can learn about their opponents and their own playing style, which they can use to

Examples Of Conformity In To Kill A Mockingbird
Don't be a conformist. Don't be common. Be an individual. Conformity, although prevalent in
society past and present, is never the answer. As individuals, we were made to be unique. Our
insight alone is greater than the elementary principles of the crowd. However, if we conform to
societal beliefs, as many of the racists did in "To Kill a Mockingbird" (Harper Lee), then what are
we? Uneducated, crowd–pleasing citizens who won't form our own values. The inability to form our
own values causes everyone to cast the same vote. No one expresses different opinions, every white
man downgrades African Americans, every male is "superior" to every female, and every child is of
lesser value to adults. So, by being an individual, although one may be yelled ... Show more content

In "To Kill a Mockingbird", sexism is a prevalent issue that has yet to be tackled. In Chapter 4,
Scout relates a comment made by her brother, Jem, saying, "I was not so sure, but Jem told me that I
was being a girl, that girls always imagined things, that's why other people hated them so, and if I
started behaving like one I could just go off and find some to play with" (Lee, 54). This instance is
one of many in which women are being degraded by fellow males. Due to the constant and never–
ending harassment by Jem, Scout is convinced that "acting like a girl" is unfavorable, seldom
wearing dresses or practicing ladylike qualities. This issue of sexism is still very much present in
today's society, because, based upon an article published by the National Partnership for Women &
Families, "In Kentucky, median annual pay for a woman who holds a full–time, year–round job is
$33,704 while median annual pay for a man who holds a full–time, year–round job is $42,203. This
means that women in Kentucky are paid 80 cents for every dollar paid to men, amounting to an
annual wage gap of $8,499" ("Kentucky Women and the Wage Gap"). With this difference in pay
rates between men and women, Kentucky women lose a combined total of around five billion

Essay On Undocumented Immigrants
Amnesty for Undocumented Immigrants
Put yourself in the place of an undocumented immigrant or a family member. Would you then
advocate for amnesty? Amnesty, which is a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants,
has been a very controversial topic that has been debated since the foundation of the United States.
People argue against amnesty because according to their sources they take jobs from American
citizens. They are violating the law of the United States and they live of taxpayer dollars. Should
illegal immigrants be granted a pathway to citizenship? Yes, they should because illegal immigrants
will stimulate the economy, most illegal immigrants are otherwise law abiding and the amount of

In a statement given by Judge Goodlatte titled "Immigration Reform" he opines that undocumented
immigrants should not be granted a pathway to citizenship because they have violated the
immigration laws of the United States and that those laws must be enforced. However, on a recent
report requested by ICE it is shown that between the dates of January and August 2015 about 1,800
undocumented immigrants that were released were rearrested. The immigrants however, faced
charges that were associated to non violent crimes. Also, a Wall Street Journal opinion piece done by
"Jason L. Riley" claims that "about 1.6 percent of all immigrant males between 18 and 39 years old
were incarcerated, compared to 3.3 percent of the native–born population". These studies suggest
the contrary to the point of Judge Goodlatte that undocumented immigrants should not be granted
amnesty because they have broken the immigration laws of the United States. Undocumented
immigrants are statistically shown to be more law abiding than native born citizens and although
some were charged with felonies, they were non violent and charges were ultimately dropped. Due
to this undocumented immigrants should be granted amnesty to remain in the united states legally
and keep benefiting our economy as well as our

Community cards are cards that the whole "community" can use and there is five of them. Together
will your two hole cards whoever makes the best five card hand wins. In regards to the community
cards, they are dealt face up in the middle of the table. The first three cards dealt are known as the
flop, then the turn and finally the river. The river is your last chance to catch the card you have been
waiting for to make your hand a winner. Before and after the flop as well as before and after the
river there are rounds of betting. The first two people to the left of the dealer must place a forced bet
called the blind. Blinds are to assure there is always money in the pot. In order to see the flop
everyone must call the amount of the blind or fold depending on their hole cards. There are four

to the next player. Raising is obvious, it means you are putting more money into the pot. Folding is
when you do not want to call or your cards are so bad you don't even want to check. And finally,
calling is when you match the raise made by another player to see the next card. You have all four
options to choose from except when a player has bet before you and then you cannot check.

Pros And Cons Of Airlift Rescue
A patient may be more readily harmed during an airlift rescue than during an on–the–ground rescue.
There are many additional challenges and other factors personnel involved in an air rescue must
account for compared to personnel in a ground rescue to ensure the safety of the survivor.
A panicking patient is a more common occurrence during an airlift rescue, which can cause
inadvertent harm to both the victim and the rescuer. As previously mentioned, a swimmer often has
to break away from a panicking survivor ("USCG RS Manual"). This, as well as panic in general,
can lead to worsening of a patient's injuries. Panic can lead to a person's judgement becoming

Personal Narrative : 'Billy The Goat'
Prologue Billy the Goat was a Goat. No questions asked. He was the terror of the City of Billyoligia.
A beautiful castle on Mt. Billyupidus, the 3,000 ft. tall plateau that was about even with sea–level
positioned in the middle of a desert surrounded by deciduous forests. Billy had a wingspan of 20 ft.
he had poison in his fangs, which were as long as swords, he also could breathe fire in dire
situations plus unbeknownst to the general population could shoot spikes off of his tail, much like a
manticore, though not related to any manticores in particular. He had only retreated once due to a
sword stuck into his side by the king of that time, but let's just say that king didn't go on any other
expeditions; mostly due to the fact Billy had injured him and poison was slowly seeping into him.
But still, Billy the Goat was feared throughout the plateau. Now he was up in his castle playing a
game of Texas–Hold 'em with his friends The Big Timmy and Phredd. The peeps said that he was
also watching Sunday Night Foosball, the famed sport that Billy dominated at. They have had the
castle for over 20 years and have held it firm since then. The only payment so that the small town
was not destroyed is that they have to bring large shipments of Çandy. Çandy was the most valued
substance in the world at this time. The Castle has been under siege for the past 5 years, though, the
citizens of Billyoligia had been trying to wreck the castle while still bringing in the shipments of

I'm All In Texas Hold'em is a card game that has become very popular all around the world. It is a
game that uses one 52 deck card and is played up to a max of 10 players per table. Players buy–in a
certain amount of cash in–exchange for chips and use them to play. Players are dealt two cards each,
which is also known as their hole cards or their hands. This game is played with 5 community cards,
also known as the Board, that are layed out in the middle of the table. The first three cards dealt out
are called the Flop. The next card is called the Turn, and the final card dealt out is called the River.
The object of this game is to match the two hole cards with the board to try and make the best hand.
This game is similar to poker, but is played in a more complex way. There are rules for when and
how to bet. This game takes skills, patience, and sometimes luck to win all the money. ... Show more

There are a lot of tricks to maneuver when playing this game. Sometimes if a player has a losing
hand, he or she can still win by bluffing the other player. Bluffing is a bet made by a player in an
attempt to try and make other players fold their cards. Bluffing can be a risky move because you are
betting with no hand, and if a player has good cards and call your bet, you might lose. Therefore,
doing a bluff bet is all about the right timing. An added skill needed to bluff is being able to read
players body movements and their betting patterns. These are important skills to have in order to
know if the other player has a strong or weak

Texas Holdem Excellence Essay
Texas Holdem Excellence
How do we define odds to ourselves? Are they things that happen because they are suppose to or are
they things that were written and statistics made them happen. Odds and statistics play major roles
in almost every event in life. They affect everything from who we marry and how long it lasts right
down to what shoes we wear. These odds and statistics are very noticeable to everyone especially in
a game of Texas hold'em poker. The game has some skills involved but the odds still apply to the
type of cards a player is dealt in order to use his skills. This poker game is new and is played by
many but only mastered by a few. I happen to look at myself as some one who has mastered the
game.

I have never been so ready to play Texas holdem in my entire life, and I knew I was going to win.
Around seven that evening we all showed up at brads. The cars filled the street of the quiet
community to the point people were walking half a mile to get to his house. When I walked in to his
extremely extravagant house I heard all the commotion downstairs. There were people yelling all
kinds of things and all of this before the poker even began. As I walked down stairs I was greeted by
brad and his brother Brian. Brad said" Hey buddy how's it going?" Followed by "You have the cash
so we can put you in a bracket." I replied back" Not much, and of course I have the cash, I wouldn't
leave home with out it." He then continued to tell me that I was in bracket four which had some
pretty good players but a lot of new comers to the game. I was looking forward to my first table.
This game of Texas holdem is a new age of poker the basic way the game is played is as follows.
First the dealer deals each player two cards and the player then bets on the cards in his or her hand.
After each player acts the dealer burry's the top card then deal the flop which is the first three cards
face up in the center. These cards can be used by all the players and each player uses them to make
the best five card hand. After a

The Is A New Mother Or Father

  • 1. The Is A New Mother Or Father Imagine you are a new mother or father. The pure joy and fear of this new adventure can be very overwhelming. Seeing that bright smile on your little ones face and the light in their eyes. Now picture the worst thing to ever happen. You go into you little bundle of joys room to check on them. You expect to see their chest moving up and down, but instead you see a blue limp form that is your baby. Fear overwhelms you. You cry out for help and call 911. The dispatcher on the other end of the phone tells you that help is on the way. You hope to hear sirens screaming into the night and you hope to hear it soon. You put your faith in those paramedics and that they will be at your home soon and to help your little one. Seconds seem like minutes. Hours seem like days. Finally you hear tires screeching, a police officer, who was right down the road came to see if he could help. Alas, most police officers are not trained in CPR and have no advanced medical knowledge. You plead with him, inquiring where the ambulance or fire truck is. He sadly informs you that the ambulance that usually responds to this area is tied up on another run. They would have been here before him, but they were taking care of a non–emergent problem. Someone wants to go to the hospital because their foot has been hurting for a week now, and they decided now was the time to go to the ER. I wish this were a made up story. I wish I could say things like this don't happen that often. Unfortunately, the abuse and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Summary Of Texas Hold Em Poker As for the method we applied to discover the probability and bet on the odds in the Texas Hold'em Poker, there are two main stages: First of all, we replicate the common conditions after the flop, the given condition we discuss here is heads–up limit Texas Hold'em Poker. In that way, we first sort out all the possible poker hand combinations for one player, figuring out the possibility for each starting hand to form a specific poker hand. Then, we analyze the opponent's winning probability given the five cards we already known. Based on the winning probability and pot odds, a wiser player could bet with more information and confidence through the whole process rather than focus only on the current situation and decides blindly on that. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The program of the project is designed to compute the probability for Player A and Player B based on the probabilities we covered in the tables above in 3.2.2 and 3.2.3. Its purpose is to simplify the process of finding out the probabilities so that the project is more user–friendly. The program we shown here calculate one condition in 3.2.2 as an example, input five numbers range from 1 to 52 that represents five cards that makes Player A' poker hand is Full house, the program will conduct an operation to find out the suit and rank represented by this number. Then, knowing the five cards with their suit and rank, the program will check the validity of the input by counting the number of cards that have the same rank and proceeds to the next stage if input is valid. The second stage of the program is to calculate the probability for Player B to win by categorize the poker types of the input first and match the correspondent probability formulas then to work out the precise number for Player B. Generally speaking, the project has successfully achieved the goal of calculating the probability for a Heads–up Limit Texas Hold'em Poker between Player A and Player B in the stage of flop. It covers all the possible conditions of Poker hand types when five cards are known by single player, and gives the probability to help the player make the best decision in the stage of flop with much more information than opponent so they could bet on the odds wisely to outperform the opponent in the long run. However, the project do have its limitations due to its method as we concluded in 3.1, and the program for the project is not complete due to its complexity ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Why Do Pocket Aces There are a lot of myths that develop everyday which do nothing but confuse the mind of Omaha players. You may never know the reason behind all of these myths, but one thing is certain, and that is the fact that the myths should be busted. When talking about Omaha, I would seldom hear people say that aces never win in Omaha, as if the card possesses some mystical power. Basically, pocket aces are two–card hands in a game wherein a five–card hand wins. Some people would regard aces as nothing special, and sometimes not even a part of the playable hand. Such as flopping a set, taking aces for granted will surely spell losing. Aces have the tendency to take over good Omaha hands which simply connote Omaha hands having one ace in them. However, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Being realistic to yourself is the first step to eventual success; and even if you don't become the next Johnny Chan or Chris Moneymaker you can still become a good poker player with a rewarding experience and some extra cash in your pocket. Since the majority of 'semi–pros' make their poker livings online, that's the area I'll focus on for this article. I personally think if your making even a partial income through online poker you are in fact a 'pro' in many aspects. My experience with online poker was a wild ride and still continues to be. I only play No–Limit Texas Hold Em and to quote the movie Rounders– "In No Limit not only can you watch a man lose all his chips in a single hand, but his mind along with it". I got my start playing a few small cash games at college with friends, losing to my one friend quite often. Off and on I dabbled in online poker to brush up on my skills and have some fun. I've also played in small tournaments, my largest in person one being with over 150 people. One day I decided to take the financial plunge and play for cash online. Within a few hours my initial bankroll quadrupled; I felt I was playing excellent poker with some added luck of course. I of course hit a bad beat and my bankroll dwindled; within a week I lost not only my initial bankroll but more then I would've liked to from my financial portfolio. So heres a few tips from my real world experience and I think advice others would support as well especially relevant in online poker. – Most poker sites will let you set a deposit limit; Full Tilt where I play was nice enough to set the minimum limit after my string of bad beats which protects me from letting my emotions get the best of me. – Make sure your bankroll is enough to pad your playing for a while. Always do the max buy in at a table (advice I didn't heed early on) so you can survive the blinds ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Use Of Mathematics In Texas Hold Em Poker Game Thesis: How significant is the use of mathematics in the Texas Hold'em Poker Game? How can you deduce the probability of winning and infer the strategy from your starting hand? Rationale: I have decided to focus this math exploration project on the mathematics within the leisure card game Texas Hold'em. On first impression, the outcome of any poker game seems to be entirely arbitrary and based solely on the player's pure luck. However, after we dismiss the wildy exaggerated poker "legends" we see in myriads of television programs and movies, in reality experts in the game of poker who are just able to have a higher win rate than amateurs do exist. If this game is simple based on random fortune, there would not be the various competitions held worldwide each year and the game would have been a lot less interesting. The strategies within poker games consist of two categories, mathematics and psychology, with the former determining and altering the latter. Therefore, in this investigation I would seek to explore the factors in the first pre–flop that sets the tone for the duration of the round; how would the initial hand determine what would be advantageous in the flop; and what distinguishes experts from the amateurs. Introduction: Each poker deck has fifty–two cards, each designated by one of four suits (clubs, diamonds, hearts and spades) and one of thirteen ranks (the numbers two through ten, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace). In the game Texas Hold'em, we can deduce the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. My Love For Art Ever since I was a child I have always had a creative mind. My weekends as a little girl revolved around trips to the craft store, crazy projects in the kitchen and dance routines. During the summer months, I would make the most elaborate journals, with each journal entry paired with their unique picture, many of which that were either pop–up or holographic (sparkly nail polish was a must). Within my high school career, I took the rigorous, I.B. higher level Visual Arts. This course stretched my creative mind. Piece by piece and year by year my artistic style warped and developed into my own. Towards senior year, my painting had a signature style, recognizable even without my name signed in the lower corners. I participating in local art competitions and was inspired by students my age and their love for art too. When considering what I wanted to pursue career–wise in life I knew I would be restricting myself if I did not follow my heart and go a creative route. Fashion merchandising was a perfect blend of business and creativity. It is an industry that never stops and is limitless in opportunities. As a Texas resident, I eagerly applied to schools only out of state. I wanted to jump into college and surround myself with diverse people in a foreign area. The University of South Carolina caught my eye because of its nationally recognized program in Fashion Merchandising. I toured the university and fell in love with the school's history, traditions and support from its staff. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Billyupidus, a 3,000 ft. tall plateau that was about even with sea–level. Billy had a wingspan of 20 ft. he had poison and had fangs as long as swords, he also could breathe fire in dire situations. He had only retreated once due to the holyniss of a holy–hand grenade thrown by the Popester who was, sadly, consumed in the explosion. But Billy the Goat was feared throughout the plateau. Now he was up in his castle playing a game of Texas–Hold 'em with his friends The Big Donkey and Phredd. The peeps had said that he was also watching Sunday Night Foosball, the famed sport. They have had the castle for over 20 years and have held it firm since then. The only payment so that the smaller town was not destroyed is that they have to bring large shipments of Çandy. Çandy was the most valued substance in the world at that time. The Castle has been under siege for the past 5 years though, the citizens of Billyoligia had been trying to wreck the castle while still bringing in the shipments of Çandy, which is pretty hard to do. The castle had been draped in Billy's shed impenetrable skin which had taken several years but now made the castle nearly impossible to enter, so Billy could play Foosball with his friends. Billy had become this way because of a very tragic event that had happened in his childhood involving a wizard, Griffin, and a Basilisk. So, a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The room was fairly bare other than the table we play on, a small television, and a vast iconic American flag. The small television was tuned to a sports channel, but the volume was obscenely low. They were covering all the week one College football games. Although we could not hear what they were saying we all had our eyes glued to the television. This first week of football was a rough one. My favorite team lost their opening game. This was why I desperately needed a win today. The table we sat around was set with an immense bag of chips, and a smaller bowl of cheese dip that lay next to it. I thought the chips tasted bland, although I could not resist a chip covered in the warm mouthwatering cheesy goodness. The anticipation of this day had been building up for some time over that last few months, and now it was upon me at last. The current era with widespread legalized gambling has its problems, but it is certainly an improvement over the restrictive policies of the past. There are many contradictions and ambiguities in this current era with widespread legalized gambling. For instance, numerous TV channels feature high stakes professional poker tournaments, yet only 27 states allow social gambling. In other words, 23 states outlaw gambling among friends even if the host doesn't directly profit or have a "house edge." The debate has become less a question of the pros and cons of legalization and more about which specific gambling interests stand to win or lose. For this reason, it's unusual when politicians are upfront about their conflicts of interests. One of those rare occasions involved Rep. Pat Rooney Jr. (R–FL), a member of the Rooney family which owns the Pittsburgh Steelers and race tracks. Many bloggers use their blog as a means to making money and supporting that blog and some even are full–time bloggers making thousands of dollars in a year. The first step to making money from blogging is to start blogging on a consistent basis. Once this is established, advertise the blog to the audience it is aimed towards. This will increase viewership in preparation for the next step. Once there are viewers and blogging has become a routine, it is time to look at what companies pay bloggers. Google AdSense Google is the king of advertising on the internet. Almost any website that plans to make any money has a Google Ad on it somewhere. This Google Ad is created by the owner of the website using Google AdSense. The coding for the ad is placed in the blog html so that is appears on the sidebar, top, or bottom of a page. Many bloggers are also putting ads in the actual posts of their blog. About 2.2% of the US population is considered to have a gambling problem. As more and more states legalize online gambling, it's important to understand both the positive and potential negative effects of it. Cognitive biases, which affect gamblers and non– gamblers alike, can explain the irrationalities of pathological gamblers, and how the casinos generally make out in the end. "Gambling" could be defined as, "to stake or risk money, or anything of value, on the outcome of something involving chance."(dictionary.com) Gambling has long been a part of society, dating back to 2300 B.C when the Chinese invented a gambling game called tiles. When done in moderation, gambling could be seen as fun and entertaining to one. However, some people can't just have fun, they spend their entire net worth and ruin their lives because of it. The average person may not understand how gambling addiction comes about. After all, many people in society gamble in one form or another whether it's pools with friends, home poker games, or an annual trip to the local casino. The living conditions and overall treatment of the poor, pheasants, lower class, last man on the totem pole or what ever you want to call them, was a large factor in the coming of these revolutions. "Those who are governed" are exactly what the lower class people were. Also, liberty was one of the people's major concerns. Morality In No Country For Old Men By Cormac Lawrence Morality in No Country for Old Men No Country for Old Men, written by Cormac McCarthy, is a neo–western thriller set in the year 1980 where drug trafficking and violence along the Mexican border were at its highest. The story draws the reader to Moss, an everyman who stumbles upon a case filled with money during the aftermath of a failed drug trade. Soon after, he is being pursued by both a sociopathic hitman named Chigurh and the town's sheriff Bell. The events that transpire between these three are overshadowed by the fact that each character is morally ambiguous and each character's morals are challenged in this story. Morality is a recurring theme throughout the novel, and this is evidently seen in each chapter's monologue and towards the end. Bell, although he questions his own morals due to the events that he has experienced and seen, is the symbol of morality. McCarthy uses both symbolism and Bell's narratives to show how society's moral values are gradually being degraded through each succeeding generation and how there is truly "no country for old men." In the beginning of the text, Bell refers to a case where his testimony sent a 19–year– old boy to the gas chamber to be executed. The papers stated that it was a crime of passion, but the young man stated that it was no such thing and that he would do it again if given the chance. This leaves a lasting impression on Bell. As individuals, we were made to be unique. Our insight alone is greater than the elementary principles of the crowd. However, if we conform to societal beliefs, as many of the racists did in "To Kill a Mockingbird" (Harper Lee), then what are we? Uneducated, crowd–pleasing citizens who won't form our own values. The inability to form our own values causes everyone to cast the same vote. No one expresses different opinions, every white man downgrades African Americans, every male is "superior" to every female, and every child is of lesser value to adults. In Chapter 4, Scout relates a comment made by her brother, Jem, saying, "I was not so sure, but Jem told me that I was being a girl, that girls always imagined things, that's why other people hated them so, and if I started behaving like one I could just go off and find some to play with" (Lee, 54). This instance is one of many in which women are being degraded by fellow males. Due to the constant and never– ending harassment by Jem, Scout is convinced that "acting like a girl" is unfavorable, seldom wearing dresses or practicing ladylike qualities. This issue of sexism is still very much present in today's society, because, based upon an article published by the National Partnership for Women & Families, "In Kentucky, median annual pay for a woman who holds a full–time, year–round job is $33,704 while median annual pay for a man who holds a full–time, year–round job is $42,203. Amnesty, which is a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, has been a very controversial topic that has been debated since the foundation of the United States. People argue against amnesty because according to their sources they take jobs from American citizens. They are violating the law of the United States and they live of taxpayer dollars. The immigrants however, faced charges that were associated to non violent crimes. Also, a Wall Street Journal opinion piece done by "Jason L. Riley" claims that "about 1.6 percent of all immigrant males between 18 and 39 years old were incarcerated, compared to 3.3 percent of the native–born population". These studies suggest the contrary to the point of Judge Goodlatte that undocumented immigrants should not be granted amnesty because they have broken the immigration laws of the United States. Folding is when you do not want to call or your cards are so bad you don't even want to check. And finally, calling is when you match the raise made by another player to see the next card.
