2. These are screenshots taken during the production of my front cover for my
school magazine ‘Life in the 6th form’. They show what I did step by step on
Photoshop to achieve the final product.
3. Firstly, I uploaded my choice for the final image onto photoshop. I experimented with various
features to alter the brightness, sharpness and colour of the image.
4. After I was happy with how the image looked, I decided to add in the basic title (with the
exception of the number 6 which I planned to be a different colour) which I changed to the main
theme colour of the magazine with a darker outline to make it stand out further.
5. When the main words of the title were finished I added in the ‘6’. I wanted the number to slightly
contrast to the letters: so I made it a slightly different colour, arranged it to be covered slightly by
another letter and added a faded effect to make it look unique compared to the rest of the text. I
also made it slightly bigger.
6. The next thing that I did was add in a border. I placed it at the bottom of the page as it was going
to have a slogan on it. I made it a colour that relates back to the colour scheme and is similar to
the colour of the title.
7. After the border was finished I added the text which is in a similar style to the Mast Head. The
words ‘Limited offer’ are capitalized to highlight the importance and relevance of the notice to
the reader.
8. I then added in the various taglines of the front cover in a simple font. I arranged them so that
they framed the image and didn’t cover the model’s face. They also match the basic colour
scheme.
9. Lastly, I added in the ‘Halloween Disco’ tagline which I wanted to contrast from the rest of the
magazine as it is related to a seasonal occasion and therefore wanted it to stereotypically match
Halloween. I did this by making it into a typically ‘creepy’ font and the colour orange which is
highly associated with Halloween.
