The Existence Of Aliens
One of the most compelling debates of all time is the existence of aliens beyond. Numerous
hollywood producers and writers have been creating films and novels about it. Many UFO sightings
have been reported all around the world, which leaves us to wonder whether aliens exist. There may
be no intelligent life, but we cannot deny that there is no life beyond.
Asteroids and comets are the keys to the formation of life on Earth. According to scientists, comet
impacts could have most likely caused amino acids to combine and form the building blocks of life.
Chances are that there are comets in other planetary systems that could be doing the same thing
right now. It seems impossible for Earth to be the only planet, out of billions, to have life.

Universal Communication In The Film Contact
The film Contact was an incredible story about the mysteries and possibilities of life outside of our
galaxy. Although science has been proving its possibilities through our advancements and increases
in technology, the discovery of these other worldly extraterrestrial civilizations has proven to be
more fictitious than fact to some now. Though many do believe this outside universal
communication is possible now, we just need to wait for them to contact us. Discovering these
civilizations and this information could affect our life on Earth substantially in both positive and
negative ways. The Largest Discovery in Human History The possibility of extra–terrestrial life has
sparked the hearts and mind of people worldwide since the mid–20th century. Extra–terrestrial life

This means the universe is expanding at a rate where more galaxies will be formed over time, as
stars form and implode to create galaxies. To assume that we are the only lifeform in our whole
expanding universe is unreasonable. In the film Contact, Dr. Ellie Arroway, a lifelong enthusiast of
communication with beings from other galaxies, discovers a message through a large array of
satellite radar, is decoded and depicted to be a transmission from a civilization surrounding the star
Vega. Vega is located about 25 lightyears away from our sun. If such a message could be received
25 lightyears from the sun, what if another galaxy, had civilized life that could send us a message,
could we receive it? Could it be translated? These are the very questions scientists and astronomers
are waiting to answer. The Effect on Religion/Beliefs Religion is one part of our lives here on Earth

The Space Of Space Exploration
Abstract Because our future depends on it, humanity must continue to invest in space exploration..
Technologies from the space program can be used to benefit the world and everyday life. Space
flight encourages scientific aspirations and therefore more college educated people. The answers to
the most deep–rooted questions of humanity lie in space. Who are we, why are we here? Are we
alone? Why spend money on spaceflight when we have plenty of problems here on earth? The
money that we spend on spaceflight will circle around to solve the pressing problems back at home.
Why use humans instead of robots? Nothing can match the tenacity and adaptability of a human and
the sense of accomplishment achieved by human exploration. These things are ... Show more

Remember when you dreamed? What did you dream about? I was an astronaut on a spacewalk. I
was terrified yet thrilled. I was a kid in a tree house dreaming of something greater than himself that
will change the world and humanity forever.
Thesis: Because our future depends on it, humanity must continue to invest in space exploration,
particularly in exploring Mars.
Methods
To understand the importance of space flight, I thought that it would be vital to grasp the mindset of
people who have firsthand experience with spaceflight. I began by reading Buzz Aldrin's 2013 book,
Mission to Mars: My Vision for Space Exploration published by National Geographic as well as the
2016 speech, "Mars Matters" given by Charles Bolden, the director of NASA, at the 32nd Space
Symposium in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I then thought that it would be important to comprehend
the historical significance of space flight. I found 2 articles by NASA's chief historian, Steven J.
Dick published by NASA: "The Importance of Exploration" and "Societal Impact of the Space Age"
(2005). I needed to know in more detail the future of space flight that I was arguing for so I read the
2016 Huffington Post Article by David H. Bailey and Jonathan M. Borwein titled, "Space
Exploration: The Future is Now." I wanted to develop an idea of the intangible reasons that we
explore space; the psychological reasons. These were explained in the 2007 Air

Cynthren's Lesson Essay
Once upon a time there was a world with gods and goddesses. Some lived in the galaxies and some
lived on Earth. There were two that were particularly different, but helped control and cause tension
for those in love and those that were no good. In the galaxy beyond lives the sun also known as
Leon. He controls when it should be warm and when the night should fall. As he rotates the Earth he
meets the moon, Trophia. He didn't realize that the moon was so beautiful, but she had no interest in
him. So days go by again while they rotate the Earth, but Leon wanted help so the moon would fall
in love with him and he really wanted to know her name. Cynthren, the goddess of love, helped
Leon after she found he was seeking help from her. Cynthren was beautiful and one of the most
helpful goddesses of all. When a god is struggling to find love or struggling to speak to a lady she
was there to help. When Leon asked for help she knew it was a challenge, but she was up for any
challenge that came her way. So Cynthren goes and talks to Trophia, the goddess of the moon.
Cynthren cannot crack her to convince her to talk to Leon so she had to put a spell on the stars to
help. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They spoke for hours not realizing they didn't rotate the Earth, but the stars did their job and they
both fell in love. Years after that they had to meet again, so they did and this time they caused an
eclipse, but they also created life. This life was the greatest for them even though he would not be a
part of the galaxies. Beyond the savannahs was a tree, also the son of Leon and Trophia. Jamison,
the god of all savannahs was a great god and was a very handsome tree, but didn't understand why
he was a tree and his parents were the sun and moon. His parents just told him he would do great
things there instead of being in the galaxy. So he left it as it was and made sure he was a beautiful
tree and everything was green around

Is Our Universe The Only Universe? By Brian Greene
In the TED talk "Is Our Universe the Only Universe?," theoretical physicist Brian Greene discusses
the controversial multiverse theory, which postulates that our universe is actually only one in a vast
web of many. Greene describes the basis for and the scientific discoveries relating and leading up to
the multiverse concept, including string theory; he also touches upon its vast consequences, which
extend beyond the realm of science and into questions about theological perceptions of the rarity of
human existence and creation.
The basis of the multiverse theory rests in multiple scientific concepts. For example, Greene
describes the incredible discovery made by scientists in the 1990s that the expansion of the universe

The Expansion Of Space Architecture
Introduction The collective space vision of all the world's countries at the moment seems to be
Mars, Moon, space colonization, permanent settlement etc. Even Steven Hawking does not think
that humans will survive another 1000 years 'without escaping beyond our fragile planet'. Architects
are designing colonial habitats on Mars and Moon creating large flimsy structures for permanent
settlements. But is that space architecture is all about? Just to create a new living environment for
rats abandoning a sinking ship? Obviously space architecture can be something more than just a
permanent habitat in uninhabitable environment. This manifesto argues that architecture in space
could help humanity to maintain Earth as well as to explore other ... Show more content on

Certainly it is a great shock to all ecosystems, but it is a long way from uninhabitable. If we do the
meanest things such as nuclear war, pollution of all air and water, greenhouse warming, complete
deforestation, Earth would still be considered as the most habitable planet of the galaxy that we
know. Even post–apocalyptic Earth would still be an absolute paradise in comparison to Mars, the
Moon, or hellish Venus. None of these places will ever be more welcoming than Earth, no matter
how bad Earth gets. Even if we have to live and farm under pressurized domes, we will do it million
times easier than the people who do the same on Mars. And if sooner or later humanity gets the
power of terraforming Mars or Moon, we will certainly have the power of cleaning up whatever
mess we made on Earth and turn it into a Garden of Eden. The latter seems as much easier project.
Steven Hawking advocates that 'having all eggs in one basket' is not wise. Considering the fact that
there have been five large extinctions events throughout Earth's history, spreading out could be
logical. But again, this option should be for the most extreme situation, since the protection of Earth
and its children is always comes first. The Purpose of Space Architecture. The purpose of
architecture itself is to improve human life. Due to its extreme environments, living in space or on

The Extra Terrestial
The day July 20, 1969, was a special day for all the US people where we can hear the countdown
over and over again on the radio stations. "10, 9, ignition sequence start, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, zero. All
engines running. Liftoff! We have a liftoff! Thirty–two minutes past the hour. Liftoff on Apollo 11!'
Jack King, the Chief of Public Information and Public Affairs Officer for NASA announced the
successful launch of the first human moon mission. That was the first time we truly got out of our
little cage to see the space that is around us. The moon, the sun, and the galaxy is what we had been

Those peoples are telling the true, yes, it's been decays of research that we didn't find anything
related to aliens. However, human never give up finding the Extra–Terrestrial, and for once of all,
we are getting closer to it. According to Dr. Brian J. Jensen, NASA researcher for Advanced
Materials article "Finding Life Beyond Earth is Within Reach" On NASA in 2014. The human's
technology had grown rapidly throughout the year; we have the most advanced telescope within our
grasp to thousand of the galaxy. In fact, "These upcoming telescopes will find and characterize a
host of new exoplanets –– those planets that orbit other stars –– expanding our knowledge of their
atmospheres and diversity (Jensen,2015)." Those exoplanets are our primary source of carbon base
species because life depends on the environment. If a planet has the similar pressure, temperature,
gravity water, and humidity as Earth, that planet will be most likely to form life. Likewise, it will be
the same life form from Earth. Furthermore, "This decade has seen the discovery of more and more

that finding Alien is no longer a dream. Super–earth is a planet where they are similar to Earth, but

The Truth Is Out There Analysis
In the recent scenario, it seems like the earth is very small as we got connected to every part of the
world. Mars and the moon have become our regular visits and it seems that mankind may step on
Mars in this century. In the age, if advanced technology, Humans have covered trillions of miles in
the universe through high–tech telescopes, so it is more likely that humans may find extraterrestrial
life before they come finding humans. Astrophysicists and alien astronomers have been trying to
locate the existence of extraterrestrials for decades by the use of technology like radio
communication and through telescopes because astrophysicists and alien astronomers are trying to

Is It Worth Our Earth, Health, And Future?
Planets, Aliens, and Other Things Beyond Our Earth
Have you ever wondered what goes beyond the Earth? There could even be another species living
outside this Earth! I personally think that going to Mars would provide many benefits for us. It's a
risky project, but sometimes you just have to take risks to succeed. We are advancing in our space
knowledge, but why? Although it is a very dangerous mission that could possibly end in death, we
are developing technology to through with the plan. We are going into the dark space without even
knowing what 's out there. We are diving headfirst with the risk of our lives. Is it worth it? How will
going to Mars benefit our knowledge of our Earth, health, and future?
Some people think that there 's no point in exploring what 's beyond the world. They say that it's a
waste of money or that it 's too dangerous. They point out that, "the pull of gravity would collapse
the human body. The muscle groups are designed around the force of the gravity of the Earth"
(Fong). This is true, but we could design exercises to keep our muscles in shape and working
condition. We can actually make a study with experiments to see what could help astronauts adapt to
the change of gravity. This research could also help improve our life on earth. Others explain that
robots could do the job for us. They say, "Robots can do the job. There would be no need to send
water and supplies" (Briers). Although this could be an easier option, we would still need to

"Earth's a cake...and full of sweetness." These are the words of Charles Baudelaire, who was one of
the most compelling poets of the nineteenth century. Born in Paris on April 9, 1821, Baudelaire was
a notable French poet who was known for his controversial poems. He also worked as an essayist,
an art critic, and even as a pioneering translator of Edgar Allan Poe, whom he called his "twin soul".
Charles Baudelaire published his first collection of verse poetry, "Les Fleurs du Mal" or "The
Flowers of Evil" in 1857. This collection consisted of 100 poems that dealt with a range of themes
which included love, time, sexuality, and human existence. Due to being too erotic and obscene, six
of these poems were banned. Les Fleurs du mal became a byword ... Show more content on

The Earth figuratively being a cake is a symbol that states that the content of the earth is full of
sweetness and joy. In addition, this line is also a metaphor, it describes the earth to be a cake which
in a literal sense is not true but is used to make a comparison between two unlike things such as the
earth and a cake to provide symbolism. The deeper meaning of the line reveals that there are many
positives to take from the world as life is sweet like a cake and should be consumed. Baudelaire
expresses that happiness is all around "and full of sweetness" which declares that there is happiness
within all aspects of life. The voice then speaks to the subject and states that "I can give you an
appetite of equal size" the voice is saying that it can bring joy and happiness to the subject so then
there would be no end to the subject's pleasure. Furthermore the voice comforts the subject and
wants the subject to be happy and realize that there is joy all around him. This is evident because in
line five and six, the voice "sang" to him and "caressed" him; Baudelaire uses the word "sang"
which has a positive connotation of beauty and joy rather than chanted or mumbled which implies a

believes our major religions do not approve the theory of life beyond earth. According to the Bible,
God has sent his most intellectual creation– humans to earth and denies any possibility of intelligent

Technology: The Impacts Of Spacecraft
Impacts of Spacecraft Technologies
One hundred years ago ideas like humans walking on the moon or a habitable science laboratory in
space were perhaps only present in the realm of science fiction. Just within the last sixty years, this
has become reality. From 1957, when the first human–made object was successfully launched into
orbit by the Soviet Union, to today, spacecraft continue to transform our society. This short essay
will highlight some of these transformations.
Most obviously, spacecraft continue to quench our curiosity about our universe. Voyagers 1 and 2,
launched in 1977, provided data that helped scientists better understand the natures of Jupiter,
Saturn, Neptune, and Uranus. In 2012, Voyager 1 went beyond our solar system and continues to
give us insight into interstellar medium (the space where the impacts of solar wind are negligible).
Similarly, journeys to Mars and the Moon have given us invaluable ... Show more content on

The ability to observe Earth from outer space dramatically improved weather models. As a result,
weather forecasts are more accurate. Satellites also play a critical role in global telecommunications.
The conveniences of satellite radio, satellite television, and Global Positioning Systems (GPSs) are
all made possible by spacecraft.
Interestingly, the impacts of spacecraft technologies extend beyond the capabilities of the spacecraft
themselves. Automated spacecraft, such as Curiosity, NASA's rover that is conducting research on
Mars, push the boundaries of robotics as a whole. The need for a sustainable power source in outer
space led to the invention of solar panels. The desire to have small, high quality cameras onboard
spacecraft so that scientist can retrieve meaningful pictures, laid the groundwork for cell phone
cameras. These are just some of the many (what NASA calls) "spin–off" technologies that have

This implies that we have some responsibility to feed our children. Our decisions regarding what we
eat do not just affect ourselves, but they also affect our progeny. The final section of this essay is
regarding the cycles of life and how organisms on Earth are connected to each other by various
processes, including evaporation, biodegradation, death, and consumption. Human beings are not
isolated creatures whose actions have consequences that are limited to themselves and limited to the
humans of a specific generation. Consumption and diet are important issues that illustrate clear
connections between all humans, all other creatures on Earth, and all aspects of the Earth itself, such
as the land, air, and oceans. Her final words imply that after all of these amazing and ongoing
processes of which we are a part, our next and perhaps greatest challenge lies in our own
procreation and the sustaining of healthy, future generations. Kingsolver leaves readers with
"Looking out on a clean plank of planet earth, we can get shaken right down to the bone by the

Support For Alien Life Search "Alone" Is defined as "separate, apart, or isolated from others"
("Alone"). Individuals can be alone, but the Earth is a little less clear. Whether the Earth is alone in
having the ability to sustain life or if there is more out there in the vast darkness of space is a huge
mystery. The possibility of life beyond the green planet is highly debated. The debate is held within
scientific communities as well as the public. However mathematically, existence on Earth being the
only source of life in the universe is incredibly slim. Organizations such as SETI (Search for
Extraterrestrial Intelligence) use math to try to figure out the amount of potential life in the universe
with the Drake Equation (Drake). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Scientists have been baffled by the existence of life on Earth where conditions have been thought to
be uninhabitable. The existence of these extremophile species, organisms living in conditions
thought to be unable to sustain life, on earth gives a boost to the possibility of outside life. Science
also does not have a full grasp on exactly what conditions are necessary to cause life to bloom
(McAlpine). Just because life is thought to only be able to thrive in certain conditions on Earth, does
not mean extraterrestrial life is bound by the same rules, especially if terrestrial species are known
to occasionally break the rules. Discovery of life existing away from planet Earth that does not meet
the preceded notions of what life must be like would lead scientists to better understand how life
functions and performs under countless situations and conditions. Space itself supports this as
"we've discovered things such as oceans in places we thought they couldn't exist" (Drake). Oceans
on earth are home to millions of species and are hubs for aforementioned extremophile species,
most of which remain unknown to modern science. Since oceans on Earth are teeming with
mysterious undiscovered life, there is no telling what awaits at the bottom of deep space oceans. If
scientists can understand how species may be able to thrive in previously thought to be unlivable
conditions, scientists can use those discoveries to help humanity explore areas that would otherwise
be perilous. Or perhaps, scientists could potentially use understandings of extraterrestrial life to help
humanity form a second home among the

People often think about how vast, or how important the Earth is, it is the domain of the human race.
Where they strive to be the best, compete against others, world powers against another. But, in the
vast reality of the cosmos, the Earth, is nothing more than a tiny little "pale blue dot." Described
none other than Carl Sagan, "The Pale Blue Dot," reveals the scary reality about the placement of
the human race in the "enveloping cosmic dark." In his quote, Sagan uses pathos and logos about
this reality, opening a deeper understanding that beyond the planet Earth, humans are nothing more
than insignificant. He has revolutionized the way that people view our home, and the cosmos around

Essay about Intelligent Extraterrestrial Life
Intelligent Extraterrestrial Life
When I look up at the stars at night, I just have to wonder who or what is
looking back at me from some distant planet in some distant galaxy. We've all
probably wondered what lies beyond our small, self–contained little world. The
question many have pondered is whether or not there is intelligent life beyond
earth. In the words of Metrodorus, a Greek philosopher of the fourth century,
"To consider the Earth as the only populated world in infinite space is as
absurd as to assert that in an entire field of millet, only one grain will
grow." I believe that intelligent extraterrestrial life does exist.

Some say that there couldn't possibly be life on other planets because other
planets are too harsh to support life. First of all, our galaxy contains about
100 billion to 200 billion stars (Angelo 1985). Each one of these stars could
have planets much like ours, with an atmosphere capable of stabilizing an
environment to a point in which life is suitable. The only reason some think
that there are no planets like Earth is that we have actually explored and
researched very few planets, only a small fraction of the entire galaxy. In
addition to that, scientists believe that our galaxy is a very small fraction of
the universe. A universe which is still expanding, and will continue to expand
forever (ScienceNews May 29, 1999). The number of possibilities for life is
literally infinite.
Before we can discard the notion of extraterrestrial intelligence, we must
consider how much we actually know about the universe around us. While
scientists are fairly sure that no intelligent life currently exists on mars,
the possibility of past intelligent life is still unknown. A two year
investigation of a meteorite found in Antarctica, and believed to be hail from
Mars suggests that life did exist on Mars about 3.6 billion years ago. While
discussing the analysis of this meteorite, Richard N. Zare of Stanford

Revenge In Hamlet
Hamlet is one of the most influential and time–withstanding plays of all time. Created by William
Shakespeare, Hamlet dabbles with the concepts of deceit, revenge, and death. Hamlet, the
protagonist in Hamlet, is confronted with the challenge of taking part in revenge for his father's
death, but he often finds himself lacking in taking action. Friedrich Nietzsche, a German
philosopher, accounts this lack of action for something far deeper than what lies on the surface. He
construes that Hamlet is burdened with the knowledge that death triumphs over all being. What kills
Hamlet's action is knowing that what lies in everyone's path is death and that since we all die there
is no point in correcting your earthly state, in Hamlet's case: getting revenge. This explanation for
Hamlet's delay, however, is not fully represented throughout the play. Hamlet has his bouts of hope
and prevalently believes in taking revenge. However, it's in his subconscious that Nietzsche's
statement holds true. Hamlet, fueled by his cynicism, slowly finds himself falling deeper into this
state of depression throughout the play. The farther he falls down this rabbit hole, the clearer his
understandings shine through from the beginning of the play. Hamlet's mind is clouded with grief
when he is first introduced. He likens everything of this earth as "–weary, stale, flat, and
unprofitable–" (I.ii.132), as if the mere thought of being on this earth is useless. Hamlet from the

The Call Of Cthulhu And The Color Out Of Space
In general, humans tend to belief that they are the most important creatures inhabiting the earth.
Although this may be true, when thinking about the entire universe it is questionable whether or not
humans are important at all in the grand scheme of things. The idea of cosmism is just that. This
idea is prevalent in many of H.P. Lovecraft's stories, such as "The Call of Cthulhu" and "The Colour
out of Space." The idea of cosmism is relevant to "The Call of Cthulhu" because it portrays the fact
that humans and the way in which they live their lives does not matter in the grand scheme of
things. The idea of cosmism is also relevant to "The Colour out of Space," because it portrays a

The creatures in this story have a few signifying features. One feature of these creatures is that they
were unknown entities. For example, "From Beyond," states, "Indescribable shapes both alive and
otherwise were mixed in disgusting disarray, and close to every known thing were whole worlds of
alien, unknown entities" (10). The fact that these creatures are aliens, prove that they are not known
to the human world. Another feature that these creatures have is that their physical features are very
strange. For example, they are described as "Foremost among the living objects were great inky,
jellyish monstrosities which flabbily quivered in harmony with the vibrations from the machine.
They were present in loathsome profusion, and I saw to my horror that they overlapped; that they
were semi–fluid and capable of passing through one another and through what we know as solids. "

shows that these creatures have the ability to pass through solid objects. This is out of this world
because nothing in this dimension possesses the power to pass through solid objects. The creatures
in this story are entities that are not blind to the human world. According to the story, the creatures

natural situations and disasters, such as global warming, that there are concerns that existence will

reproduce, obtain nutrients, contain gene coding, as well as, interact with their environment (Source
A). Still, David Catling states, "Only a very small fraction of the surface of Mars has been altered by
liquid water." (Source B). Meaning, Mars has little to no evidence of bodies of water. And since
water is a firm indication of life, our view on Mars is that it has limited resources. Additionally, if
Mars once possessed life than how can the ice, that was found by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter,
be 99% pure? (Source D) I mean knowing how old Mars is, such form of water should have dirt or
other signs of life, like bacteria, mixed in. It just goes to show how lacking our discoveries

Anthnocentrism: The Stewards Of Western Culture
Intro
My paper is about anthropocentrism, stewardship and christianity. Anthropocentrism and
christianity are the current leading worldviews in the western culture and there is something deeply
disturbing with those world views in relation to the environmental crisis. It is important to scrutinize
anthropocentrism because it is wildly incompatible with scripture. Anthropocentrism of western
culture dominates the globe. It is the belief that humans are superior to all other life forms and
entitled to use them. The belief of anthropocentrism is that the earth belongs to humanity, the
resources exist for the betterment of people, and that humans are obviously supreme. The
consequence of this belief is a long history of abuse to our planet and a blind sightedness to the loss
of the planets richness and beauty. This view has led to severe climate change, severe mass
extinctions, and trashing of our seas and lands. The misuse of the bible accompanies the ... Show

We are to be stewards of the earth and that as part of Gods creations, we are good, holy and part of
the breath and spirit of god. We will discover that we humans do not own the world or any part of it.
"The land is mine; for ye are strangers and sojourners with me." In biblical terms, we are guests and
stewards of God. As stewards of god we are mandated to keep and care for the earth, not to pollute,
exterminate or destroy.
Today whoever has the most money owns the land and makes the rules. The bible teaches that we
are not entitled to the land, God owns it and we are merely taking care of it.
Chapter 25 of leviticus forbids large accumulations of land, and no person was at liberty to hoard or

instructions for a just economy. We are prohibited from profiting from lending money to the poor, or

The Eschatology Of John Wesley
The Eschatology of John Wesley
By Jeff Potter Eschatology, or the study of the end of all things, often becomes a central component
of Christian theology regardless of the denomination. Perhaps this stems from the finite nature of
our minds, our inability to truly understand an eternal future, forcing us to yearn for some kind of
end point that we can wrap our minds around. Perhaps it stems from a fear of the unknown, a desire
to know what lies beyond our present reality after our physical death. Perhaps it is both of these
things as well as others swirling around in our minds grasping at cryptic truths as we attempt to
rationalize our faith in the unseen. Whatever the reason, eschatology is an important aspect of the
Christian faith often understood to be pointing to the ultimate goal of the faith. For John Wesley
eschatology provides a lens for all theology and is a present realization of the Kingdom of God
which is yet to fully come. Within the broad spectrum of Christian traditions, eschatology is
generally understood to refer to a specific moment in the future, the eschaton, when this world ends
and life–eternal begins. With that understanding come some generally agreed upon events such as
the Second–Coming of Jesus Christ, a final battle between Christ and the devil, the end of this
world, and a final destination of heaven for those who have found salvation in Christ. Beyond that
there many variations amongst Christians including timeframes, order of events, and what

The Importance Of Space Exploration
Do you believe in the existence of extraterrestrial life? Through space exploration, this question has
withdrawn huge amounts of curiosity and has been debated more than ever. As space exploration
began from the beginning of the human existence, research has been conducted leading to major
discoveries. These discoveries are the tiniest aspects of our surroundings, but seem huge to mankind
and our existence. Therefore, the race into space changed the course of history, from the first step on
the moon, space exploration has flourished, triggering immense curiosity for ongoing discoveries.
Space exploration is the ongoing discovery and exploration of celestial structures in outer space by
means of continuously evolving and growing space technology, according to Wikipedia. Being a
paltry part of the solar system we evolve in, there are numerous levels beginning with the entire
universe and funneling down to comets and possibly extraterrestrial life. Many people with little
knowledge of outer space usually believe that space is congested, just as movies portray it.
However, space is so gargantuan, objects are seen as only one ten–billionth of the brightness that
our naked eye can perceive. From Earth, and months of deep investigation, a telescope can observe
a galaxy that existed over 13 billion years ago. Little do we know, any discovery of outer space is
considered a step closer to observing our actual surroundings beyond the planet Earth. Outer space
is so infinitive scientists wonder if space exploration could ever do any justice to compare how
small we truly are. As more information is gained, of course, more questions arise. For example, is
time travel possible? Will humans ever be able to travel to other planets at a reasonable cost? With
questions of every type, not all are capable of being answered at the moment, but hopefully through
hours of research and studies someday all questions will be solved. With the sun able to produce
energy up to a solid 3 to 5 billion more years, this gives us plenty of time to keep adapting to our
changing environment.

The Search for Inhabitable exoplanets
Throughout the history of humanity, numerous scientists have been intrigued by the search for
inhabitable exoplanets. To date, such ventures are still in the developmental stages and the discovery
of life beyond earth and the solar system , regardless of how primitive it may be, may soon be
regarded as a fundamental breakthrough in astronomy (Jones & Mukai, 2007). The fundamental
properties to be considered if a place is habitable are: presence of organic materials, water and
energy sources. Habitability of the planet also takes into consideration, nearness of the planet to the

2011). The closest known exoplanet orbiting star is called Epislon Eridani, which is 63 trillion miles
away – it is close to 14,000 times away from Neptune, the farthest planets in our solar system
(Horner & Jones, 2010). Due to the great distance, exoplanets cannot be viewed directly since the
amount of light they reflect is too faint to be detected from a far off distance (Horner & Jones,
2010). Alternatively, scientists infer the presence of an exoplanet from the changes in wavelength of
light illuminating from the star, this may be caused by the gravitational pull from an orbiting planet
or the regulation of brightness of the star due to transiting planets. When Fermi Paradox was
proposed initially, most people thought planets were rare. Nevertheless, since then the astrological
tools have discovered the existence of numerous exoplanets. However, with each new discovery of
an earth–like planet for instance Epislon Eridani, it becomes less likely that there could exist a
planet apart from the Earth that can support life. Using methods such as those stated above,
scientists have been able to discover hundreds of exoplanets and the first detection was in 1995.
Once they detect one, they begin evaluating it to ascertain whether it can support life. Further, they
analyze the light spectrum that radiates from the star in order to reveal the properties of the planet.

An Essay On The Cave
Once upon a time, there was a cave. A cave up in the mountains, surrounded with water and earth.
The mountain was old, as old as the world when it first emerged from the primordial waters and fire,
which had too came from something else. Somewhere out in the infinite chasm known as the
cosmos – but that was irrelevant.
The cave was younger.
Just a bit less than the mountain..
The cave sat on the side of the mountain, under a rocky cliff.
And in the cave, there was nothing. No life, no strange divinity, no eldritch powers lurking about. It
was but a simple cave, formed by water and the years, just like the other millions upon the earth.
However, outside the cave, life blossomed and the world changed like sand dunes in the wind.

A gift, it you will.
The tree grew quickly, much quicker than any other other tree should be. Most trees would feed

glow in the darkness like the radiant Sun itself, the leaves would shimmer like the gentle moonlight.
Under the grand tree, blades of grass grew, the critters flourished on its sap and fruit. From under it's
roots, water gushed out like a mighty river, bringing forth the endless torrent of life.
It was a tree unlike any other.

beyond the limits our human natures restrict our eyes to, what lies beyond the know? Tim Minchin

having the knowledge of miles and time, you can understand that, that is incredibly fast. It's mission
is space is to, becuase of it's position facing towards space, to take pictures of planets, stars, and
galaxies. It has captured things such as stars being born, stars die, it has seen galaxies far, far away,
and so much more. These pictures have allowed scientists to learn an abundance of information
beyond their previous knowledge. This is all made possible because the Telescope is located high
above Earth and it's atmosphere so the images are not being altered by the gases in the atmosphere.
It is not the type of telescope you can look through with your eye, it works like a digital camera and
uses radio waves to send the pictures through the air, back to Earth. This Telescope is not perfect

Abstract. “Astrobiology Is The Field Of Study Focused On
Abstract
"Astrobiology is the field of study focused on searches for life and possible habitats for such life on
other worlds" (2014). The science of astrobiology has many areas of study and is important because
it helps us find other places in the universe that could be habitable, determine the potential for
habitable planets beyond the solar system, and understand those planets that we can observe in the
universe. Scientists have many ideas on how to recognize signs of life on other planets (Des Marais
et al., 2008). NASA has done many missions to planets and moons in our solar system and beyond,
searching for life.

it might develop. It also searches for life that once existed on dead planets. Research in the area of
emerging worlds tries to understand how the sun and the planets surrounding it developed.
Instrument development programs to see far off worlds involves building satellites and telescopes
that can see distant worlds and distant conditions for habitation ("NASAAstrobiology, n.d.")
Exoplanet research advances our knowledge and understanding of planets outside of our solar
system. Its objectives are the detection of exoplanets and their characteristics. Planetary protection
involves efforts to not contaminate other planets by introducing hazardous organisms. This keeps
other planets in a natural state and it ensures any organisms found by scientists on other planets did
not originate from Earth. It also involves protecting our planet from organisms from other worlds.
This is done by setting planetary protection policy, designing sterile spacecraft, and planning to

Landscape In Henry Alan Paton's Cry, The Beloved Country
Henry David Thoreau once said "Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads," in his novel
Walden, which accurately reflects mankind's relationship to the natural world around us. Frequently,
the landscape dictates the well–being of the people who live there. In Alan Paton's work Cry, the
Beloved Country, he starts the book by describing the South African people's bond to the landscape.
Employing contrasting imagery and diction, powerful symbolism, and fluctuating uses of
parallelism, Paton demonstrates how the land needs to be healthy in order for the people who live
there to thrive, and harm to the earth is mirrored by the deterioration of community.
Paton uses vivid descriptions of nature to paint a picture of the land's connection to the tribal people.
Initially, Paton reverently describes the landscape using words such as lovely, great, rich, and fairest,
which composes an image of thriving land. Additionally, he uses words such as holy and Creator
when discussing the land. The earth is rich and lovely to these people, but first and foremost it is a
spiritual part of their community. The fact that these people associate the land with their belief in
god and their spirituality, exhibited by its description of being holy, is significant because religion is
important to these people. This religious diction is contrasted with words such as break down, dry,
burned, coarse, sharp, cut, desolate, torn, dead, red blood, and, scratch which depicts a stark

Rhetorical Devices In Upon The Burning Of Our House
Upon the Burning of our House, July 10th, 1666 was written by Anne Bradstreet, America's first
published poet and a famous Puritan writer. The poem is about Bradstreet fleeing her house after she
wakes up and discovers that her house has been engulfed in flames. She begins to mourn the loss of
her personal items but quickly scolds herself because she believes God has created a home for her in
heaven. As Bradstreet takes her mind off losing her earthly possessions, she realizes that she must
dissolve her ties to the real world and instead focus on keeping a strong relationship with God.
Throughout the poem Upon the Burning of our House, July 10th, 1666, Anne Bradstreet uses
rhetorical devices to express that one must overcome their internal struggle with cherishing things
on Earth and instead focus on dedicating themselves to serving God who will provide things far
more valuable than anything in real life. Anne Bradstreet uses diction to explain how her focus on
God has created a life far more beneficial than the one on Earth. For example, Bradstreet expresses
this when she bids her house farewell as it is burned to the ground. "In silence ever shalt thou lie;
Adieu, Adieu, all's vanity" (Bradstreet 35–36). Bradstreet finally recognizes the fact that everything
she owns belongs to God, and there is nothing she can do about it. By using the phrase "All's
Vanity", she emphasizes the unimportance of her material goods and instead praises the things that
God has provided for

This aids people in focusing on once certain aspect of the Earth rather than processing the entire
Earth System. The main point out of all of this is that the Earth is a single connected unit with many
complex structures which make it, much like a system (Earth Science, 2015).
How is the Earth a System
As stated before, the Earth contains many complex and varying units. These units are known as
subsystem or spheres. Together, all of these complex and interconnected units form a forever
changing item called the Earth System (Interaction Earth, n.d.). Studying these helps researchers
forecast any changes, events, or disasters that can occur (Earth Science, 2015).
The four main subsystems are the Geosphere, Biosphere, Hydrosphere, and Atmosphere. The
Geosphere contains the Earth's core, crust, landforms (lithosphere), and the processes that transform
it. The Hydrosphere includes water and all of its forms, like glaciers. The Biosphere covers all life
on the Earth. From plants to bacteria to humans, every organism is included in this sphere. The last
major subsystem is the Atmosphere. This encompasses the air we breathe, any precipitation, and
clouds. It is a thin sheet of air that directs current, controls climate, and waters plants. The top layer
of it, the Exosphere, connects with space since it contains such thin air (Systems of Systems, 2015).

The Age Of The Earth
The Age of The Earth
For decades the age of the Earth has been a major conflict between science and religion, but why is
it such a big conflict? If, in the year AD 1600, an individual had asked an educated European how
old the planet Earth was and to recount its history, the response would have been that it was about
6000 years old and that its ancient history was given by the biblical account in Genesis (Changing
Views of the History of the Earth). If one asked the same question of an educated European in AD
1900, one would have received a totally different answer (Changing Views of the History of the
Earth). The answer would have been the Earth was ancient, there had not been a Noachian flood,
and that the species of life had not been fixed over the history of Earth (Changing Views of the
History of the Earth). In short, Genesis was an allegory and not literal history (Changing Views of
the History of the Earth). This brings up the different views between "young earth creationists" and
"old earth creationists" and those that support an infinite universe. The problem today is each side
contains major valid points of evidence of both biblical and scientific, on the age of the planet Earth.
The "young earth creationist" perceptive is the result of a historical–grammatical reading of the
description of the early Earth in the Bible or the Islamic Qur'an, which both contain similar accounts
of a six–day creation, Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden, and Noah's flood (Biblical

Muggle Astronomy Research Paper
Astronomy, is for me, why we are even here at all. As humans [and wizards], we owe our lives to
discovering our own universe and beyond, it is our utmost dedication that we discover facts and
information on everything around us. People have dedicated months, years, to discovering what
truly makes us part of the universe, we have achieved and advanced so much just by studying our
stars, our solar system and our neighbouring planets.
Muggle Astronomy lacks the accuracy of Wizard Astronomy, you cannot use magic to see far
beyond a telescope will allow you, if you are a muggle. But this does not mean that muggles are
mere or useless, in fact, we owe a lot of discovery to the muggles around us. Muggle Astronomy
involves time, dedication, a life time of patience, sending advanced technology out there, or muggle
men they call Astronauts, they danger their lives to discover why we are here, and are we lonely in
our little part of space? Wizards have these powers on their doorstep, it is far less dangerous for a
Wizard to conduct study than a Muggle, and in many ways more effective, but Wizards lack the
motivation to discover, they know so much already and rely too much on their magic, they are
nowhere near as determined. Which is why, in many ways, muggle astronomy outweighs our own.

The Existence Of Aliens

  • 1. The Existence Of Aliens One of the most compelling debates of all time is the existence of aliens beyond. Numerous hollywood producers and writers have been creating films and novels about it. Many UFO sightings have been reported all around the world, which leaves us to wonder whether aliens exist. There may be no intelligent life, but we cannot deny that there is no life beyond. Asteroids and comets are the keys to the formation of life on Earth. According to scientists, comet impacts could have most likely caused amino acids to combine and form the building blocks of life. Chances are that there are comets in other planetary systems that could be doing the same thing right now. It seems impossible for Earth to be the only planet, out of billions, to have life. ... • 2. Universal Communication In The Film Contact The film Contact was an incredible story about the mysteries and possibilities of life outside of our galaxy. Although science has been proving its possibilities through our advancements and increases in technology, the discovery of these other worldly extraterrestrial civilizations has proven to be more fictitious than fact to some now. Though many do believe this outside universal communication is possible now, we just need to wait for them to contact us. Discovering these civilizations and this information could affect our life on Earth substantially in both positive and negative ways. The Largest Discovery in Human History The possibility of extra–terrestrial life has sparked the hearts and mind of people worldwide since the mid–20th century. Extra–terrestrial life is the belief that there is life beyond the planet Earth, and beyond our Milky ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This means the universe is expanding at a rate where more galaxies will be formed over time, as stars form and implode to create galaxies. To assume that we are the only lifeform in our whole expanding universe is unreasonable. In the film Contact, Dr. Ellie Arroway, a lifelong enthusiast of communication with beings from other galaxies, discovers a message through a large array of satellite radar, is decoded and depicted to be a transmission from a civilization surrounding the star Vega. Vega is located about 25 lightyears away from our sun. If such a message could be received 25 lightyears from the sun, what if another galaxy, had civilized life that could send us a message, could we receive it? Could it be translated? These are the very questions scientists and astronomers are waiting to answer. The Effect on Religion/Beliefs Religion is one part of our lives here on Earth that surrounds us every second of everyday. Whether you are catholic, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Atheist, or part of any other faith or belief for that matter, some type of religion or creed is being talked about or instituted into your ... • 3. The Space Of Space Exploration Abstract Because our future depends on it, humanity must continue to invest in space exploration.. Technologies from the space program can be used to benefit the world and everyday life. Space flight encourages scientific aspirations and therefore more college educated people. The answers to the most deep–rooted questions of humanity lie in space. Who are we, why are we here? Are we alone? Why spend money on spaceflight when we have plenty of problems here on earth? The money that we spend on spaceflight will circle around to solve the pressing problems back at home. Why use humans instead of robots? Nothing can match the tenacity and adaptability of a human and the sense of accomplishment achieved by human exploration. These things are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Remember when you dreamed? What did you dream about? I was an astronaut on a spacewalk. I was terrified yet thrilled. I was a kid in a tree house dreaming of something greater than himself that will change the world and humanity forever. Thesis: Because our future depends on it, humanity must continue to invest in space exploration, particularly in exploring Mars. Methods To understand the importance of space flight, I thought that it would be vital to grasp the mindset of people who have firsthand experience with spaceflight. I began by reading Buzz Aldrin's 2013 book, Mission to Mars: My Vision for Space Exploration published by National Geographic as well as the 2016 speech, "Mars Matters" given by Charles Bolden, the director of NASA, at the 32nd Space Symposium in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I then thought that it would be important to comprehend the historical significance of space flight. I found 2 articles by NASA's chief historian, Steven J. Dick published by NASA: "The Importance of Exploration" and "Societal Impact of the Space Age" (2005). I needed to know in more detail the future of space flight that I was arguing for so I read the 2016 Huffington Post Article by David H. Bailey and Jonathan M. Borwein titled, "Space Exploration: The Future is Now." I wanted to develop an idea of the intangible reasons that we explore space; the psychological reasons. These were explained in the 2007 Air ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Cynthren's Lesson Essay Once upon a time there was a world with gods and goddesses. Some lived in the galaxies and some lived on Earth. There were two that were particularly different, but helped control and cause tension for those in love and those that were no good. In the galaxy beyond lives the sun also known as Leon. He controls when it should be warm and when the night should fall. As he rotates the Earth he meets the moon, Trophia. He didn't realize that the moon was so beautiful, but she had no interest in him. So days go by again while they rotate the Earth, but Leon wanted help so the moon would fall in love with him and he really wanted to know her name. Cynthren, the goddess of love, helped Leon after she found he was seeking help from her. Cynthren was beautiful and one of the most helpful goddesses of all. When a god is struggling to find love or struggling to speak to a lady she was there to help. When Leon asked for help she knew it was a challenge, but she was up for any challenge that came her way. So Cynthren goes and talks to Trophia, the goddess of the moon. Cynthren cannot crack her to convince her to talk to Leon so she had to put a spell on the stars to help. ... Years after that they had to meet again, so they did and this time they caused an eclipse, but they also created life. This life was the greatest for them even though he would not be a part of the galaxies. Beyond the savannahs was a tree, also the son of Leon and Trophia. Jamison, the god of all savannahs was a great god and was a very handsome tree, but didn't understand why he was a tree and his parents were the sun and moon. His parents just told him he would do great things there instead of being in the galaxy. So he left it as it was and made sure he was a beautiful tree and everything was green around ... • 5. Is Our Universe The Only Universe? By Brian Greene In the TED talk "Is Our Universe the Only Universe?," theoretical physicist Brian Greene discusses the controversial multiverse theory, which postulates that our universe is actually only one in a vast web of many. Greene describes the basis for and the scientific discoveries relating and leading up to the multiverse concept, including string theory; he also touches upon its vast consequences, which extend beyond the realm of science and into questions about theological perceptions of the rarity of human existence and creation. The basis of the multiverse theory rests in multiple scientific concepts. For example, Greene describes the incredible discovery made by scientists in the 1990s that the expansion of the universe – long believed to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Expansion Of Space Architecture Introduction The collective space vision of all the world's countries at the moment seems to be Mars, Moon, space colonization, permanent settlement etc. Even Steven Hawking does not think that humans will survive another 1000 years 'without escaping beyond our fragile planet'. Architects are designing colonial habitats on Mars and Moon creating large flimsy structures for permanent settlements. But is that space architecture is all about? Just to create a new living environment for rats abandoning a sinking ship? Obviously space architecture can be something more than just a permanent habitat in uninhabitable environment. This manifesto argues that architecture in space could help humanity to maintain Earth as well as to explore other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Certainly it is a great shock to all ecosystems, but it is a long way from uninhabitable. If we do the meanest things such as nuclear war, pollution of all air and water, greenhouse warming, complete deforestation, Earth would still be considered as the most habitable planet of the galaxy that we know. Even post–apocalyptic Earth would still be an absolute paradise in comparison to Mars, the Moon, or hellish Venus. None of these places will ever be more welcoming than Earth, no matter how bad Earth gets. Even if we have to live and farm under pressurized domes, we will do it million times easier than the people who do the same on Mars. And if sooner or later humanity gets the power of terraforming Mars or Moon, we will certainly have the power of cleaning up whatever mess we made on Earth and turn it into a Garden of Eden. The latter seems as much easier project. Steven Hawking advocates that 'having all eggs in one basket' is not wise. Considering the fact that there have been five large extinctions events throughout Earth's history, spreading out could be logical. But again, this option should be for the most extreme situation, since the protection of Earth and its children is always comes first. The Purpose of Space Architecture. The purpose of architecture itself is to improve human life. Due to its extreme environments, living in space or on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. How Old Is The Universe Research Paper The Extra Terrestial The day July 20, 1969, was a special day for all the US people where we can hear the countdown over and over again on the radio stations. "10, 9, ignition sequence start, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, zero. All engines running. Liftoff! We have a liftoff! Thirty–two minutes past the hour. Liftoff on Apollo 11!' Jack King, the Chief of Public Information and Public Affairs Officer for NASA announced the successful launch of the first human moon mission. That was the first time we truly got out of our little cage to see the space that is around us. The moon, the sun, and the galaxy is what we had been dreaming of since we are a little kid. In fact, look back toward the timeline of our history, we can find all the myth about the stars ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Those peoples are telling the true, yes, it's been decays of research that we didn't find anything related to aliens. However, human never give up finding the Extra–Terrestrial, and for once of all, we are getting closer to it. According to Dr. Brian J. Jensen, NASA researcher for Advanced Materials article "Finding Life Beyond Earth is Within Reach" On NASA in 2014. The human's technology had grown rapidly throughout the year; we have the most advanced telescope within our grasp to thousand of the galaxy. In fact, "These upcoming telescopes will find and characterize a host of new exoplanets –– those planets that orbit other stars –– expanding our knowledge of their atmospheres and diversity (Jensen,2015)." Those exoplanets are our primary source of carbon base species because life depends on the environment. If a planet has the similar pressure, temperature, gravity water, and humidity as Earth, that planet will be most likely to form life. Likewise, it will be the same life form from Earth. Furthermore, "This decade has seen the discovery of more and more super–Earths, which are rocky planets that are larger and heftier than Earth."(Brain 2015) Meaning that finding Alien is no longer a dream. • 8. The Truth Is Out There Analysis In the recent scenario, it seems like the earth is very small as we got connected to every part of the world. Mars and the moon have become our regular visits and it seems that mankind may step on Mars in this century. In the age, if advanced technology, Humans have covered trillions of miles in the universe through high–tech telescopes, so it is more likely that humans may find extraterrestrial life before they come finding humans. Astrophysicists and alien astronomers have been trying to locate the existence of extraterrestrials for decades by the use of technology like radio communication and through telescopes because astrophysicists and alien astronomers are trying to find a possibility of life beyond earth. The article "The $100 Million Hunt for Alien Life" is written by Mark Adams, who is the writer and editor whose work has appeared in "GQ" and "New York Times". As ... But the fact was that it was the supersonic aircraft's like A–12, SR–71, and F– 117A who doesn't seem to this world were being tested. These aircraft made mysterious sounds and lights in the sky, which made people believe in a UFO. • 9. Is It Worth Our Earth, Health, And Future? Planets, Aliens, and Other Things Beyond Our Earth Have you ever wondered what goes beyond the Earth? There could even be another species living outside this Earth! I personally think that going to Mars would provide many benefits for us. It's a risky project, but sometimes you just have to take risks to succeed. We are advancing in our space knowledge, but why? Although it is a very dangerous mission that could possibly end in death, we are developing technology to through with the plan. We are going into the dark space without even knowing what 's out there. We are diving headfirst with the risk of our lives. Is it worth it? How will going to Mars benefit our knowledge of our Earth, health, and future? Some people think that there 's no point in exploring what 's beyond the world. They say that it's a waste of money or that it 's too dangerous. They point out that, "the pull of gravity would collapse the human body. The muscle groups are designed around the force of the gravity of the Earth" (Fong). This is true, but we could design exercises to keep our muscles in shape and working condition. We can actually make a study with experiments to see what could help astronauts adapt to the change of gravity. This research could also help improve our life on earth. Others explain that robots could do the job for us. They say, "Robots can do the job. There would be no need to send water and supplies" (Briers). • 10. Charles Baudelaire Research Paper "Earth's a cake...and full of sweetness." These are the words of Charles Baudelaire, who was one of the most compelling poets of the nineteenth century. Born in Paris on April 9, 1821, Baudelaire was a notable French poet who was known for his controversial poems. He also worked as an essayist, an art critic, and even as a pioneering translator of Edgar Allan Poe, whom he called his "twin soul". Charles Baudelaire published his first collection of verse poetry, "Les Fleurs du Mal" or "The Flowers of Evil" in 1857. This collection consisted of 100 poems that dealt with a range of themes which included love, time, sexuality, and human existence. Due to being too erotic and obscene, six of these poems were banned. Les Fleurs du mal became a byword ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Earth figuratively being a cake is a symbol that states that the content of the earth is full of sweetness and joy. In addition, this line is also a metaphor, it describes the earth to be a cake which in a literal sense is not true but is used to make a comparison between two unlike things such as the earth and a cake to provide symbolism. The deeper meaning of the line reveals that there are many positives to take from the world as life is sweet like a cake and should be consumed. Baudelaire expresses that happiness is all around "and full of sweetness" which declares that there is happiness within all aspects of life. The voice then speaks to the subject and states that "I can give you an appetite of equal size" the voice is saying that it can bring joy and happiness to the subject so then there would be no end to the subject's pleasure. Furthermore the voice comforts the subject and wants the subject to be happy and realize that there is joy all around him. This is evident because in line five and six, the voice "sang" to him and "caressed" him; Baudelaire uses the word "sang" which has a positive connotation of beauty and joy rather than chanted or mumbled which implies a more ... • 13. Technology: The Impacts Of Spacecraft Impacts of Spacecraft Technologies One hundred years ago ideas like humans walking on the moon or a habitable science laboratory in space were perhaps only present in the realm of science fiction. Just within the last sixty years, this has become reality. From 1957, when the first human–made object was successfully launched into orbit by the Soviet Union, to today, spacecraft continue to transform our society. This short essay will highlight some of these transformations. Most obviously, spacecraft continue to quench our curiosity about our universe. Voyagers 1 and 2, launched in 1977, provided data that helped scientists better understand the natures of Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and Uranus. In 2012, Voyager 1 went beyond our solar system and continues to give us insight into interstellar medium (the space where the impacts of solar wind are negligible). Similarly, journeys to Mars and the Moon have given us invaluable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The ability to observe Earth from outer space dramatically improved weather models. As a result, weather forecasts are more accurate. Satellites also play a critical role in global telecommunications. The conveniences of satellite radio, satellite television, and Global Positioning Systems (GPSs) are all made possible by spacecraft. Interestingly, the impacts of spacecraft technologies extend beyond the capabilities of the spacecraft themselves. Automated spacecraft, such as Curiosity, NASA's rover that is conducting research on Mars, push the boundaries of robotics as a whole. The need for a sustainable power source in outer space led to the invention of solar panels. The desire to have small, high quality cameras onboard spacecraft so that scientist can retrieve meaningful pictures, laid the groundwork for cell phone cameras. (2001, 938) This implies that we have some responsibility to feed our children. Our decisions regarding what we eat do not just affect ourselves, but they also affect our progeny. The final section of this essay is regarding the cycles of life and how organisms on Earth are connected to each other by various processes, including evaporation, biodegradation, death, and consumption. Human beings are not isolated creatures whose actions have consequences that are limited to themselves and limited to the humans of a specific generation. Consumption and diet are important issues that illustrate clear connections between all humans, all other creatures on Earth, and all aspects of the Earth itself, such as the land, air, and oceans. Her final words imply that after all of these amazing and ongoing processes of which we are a part, our next and perhaps greatest challenge lies in our own procreation and the sustaining of healthy, future generations. Kingsolver leaves readers with "Looking out on a clean plank of planet earth, we can get shaken right down to the bone by the bronze–eyed possibility of lives that are not our own." Individuals can be alone, but the Earth is a little less clear. Whether the Earth is alone in having the ability to sustain life or if there is more out there in the vast darkness of space is a huge mystery. The possibility of life beyond the green planet is highly debated. The debate is held within scientific communities as well as the public. The existence of these extremophile species, organisms living in conditions thought to be unable to sustain life, on earth gives a boost to the possibility of outside life. Science also does not have a full grasp on exactly what conditions are necessary to cause life to bloom (McAlpine). Just because life is thought to only be able to thrive in certain conditions on Earth, does not mean extraterrestrial life is bound by the same rules, especially if terrestrial species are known to occasionally break the rules. Discovery of life existing away from planet Earth that does not meet the preceded notions of what life must be like would lead scientists to better understand how life functions and performs under countless situations and conditions. Space itself supports this as "we've discovered things such as oceans in places we thought they couldn't exist" (Drake). Oceans on earth are home to millions of species and are hubs for aforementioned extremophile species, most of which remain unknown to modern science. Since oceans on Earth are teeming with mysterious undiscovered life, there is no telling what awaits at the bottom of deep space oceans. • 20. Revenge In Hamlet Hamlet is one of the most influential and time–withstanding plays of all time. Created by William Shakespeare, Hamlet dabbles with the concepts of deceit, revenge, and death. Hamlet, the protagonist in Hamlet, is confronted with the challenge of taking part in revenge for his father's death, but he often finds himself lacking in taking action. Friedrich Nietzsche, a German philosopher, accounts this lack of action for something far deeper than what lies on the surface. He construes that Hamlet is burdened with the knowledge that death triumphs over all being. What kills Hamlet's action is knowing that what lies in everyone's path is death and that since we all die there is no point in correcting your earthly state, in Hamlet's case: getting revenge. This explanation for Hamlet's delay, however, is not fully represented throughout the play. Hamlet has his bouts of hope and prevalently believes in taking revenge. However, it's in his subconscious that Nietzsche's statement holds true. Hamlet, fueled by his cynicism, slowly finds himself falling deeper into this state of depression throughout the play. The farther he falls down this rabbit hole, the clearer his understandings shine through from the beginning of the play. Hamlet's mind is clouded with grief when he is first introduced. He likens everything of this earth as "–weary, stale, flat, and unprofitable–" (I.ii.132), as if the mere thought of being on this earth is useless. Hamlet from the get–go, in his ... This idea is prevalent in many of H.P. Lovecraft's stories, such as "The Call of Cthulhu" and "The Colour out of Space." It is important to scrutinize anthropocentrism because it is wildly incompatible with scripture. Anthropocentrism of western culture dominates the globe. It is the belief that humans are superior to all other life forms and entitled to use them. The belief of anthropocentrism is that the earth belongs to humanity, the resources exist for the betterment of people, and that humans are obviously supreme. • 24. The Eschatology Of John Wesley The Eschatology of John Wesley By Jeff Potter Eschatology, or the study of the end of all things, often becomes a central component of Christian theology regardless of the denomination. Perhaps this stems from the finite nature of our minds, our inability to truly understand an eternal future, forcing us to yearn for some kind of end point that we can wrap our minds around. Perhaps it stems from a fear of the unknown, a desire to know what lies beyond our present reality after our physical death. Perhaps it is both of these things as well as others swirling around in our minds grasping at cryptic truths as we attempt to rationalize our faith in the unseen. Whatever the reason, eschatology is an important aspect of the Christian faith often understood to be pointing to the ultimate goal of the faith. For John Wesley eschatology provides a lens for all theology and is a present realization of the Kingdom of God which is yet to fully come. Within the broad spectrum of Christian traditions, eschatology is generally understood to refer to a specific moment in the future, the eschaton, when this world ends and life–eternal begins. With that understanding come some generally agreed upon events such as the Second–Coming of Jesus Christ, a final battle between Christ and the devil, the end of this world, and a final destination of heaven for those who have found salvation in Christ. The closest known exoplanet orbiting star is called Epislon Eridani, which is 63 trillion miles away – it is close to 14,000 times away from Neptune, the farthest planets in our solar system (Horner & Jones, 2010). Due to the great distance, exoplanets cannot be viewed directly since the amount of light they reflect is too faint to be detected from a far off distance (Horner & Jones, 2010). Alternatively, scientists infer the presence of an exoplanet from the changes in wavelength of light illuminating from the star, this may be caused by the gravitational pull from an orbiting planet or the regulation of brightness of the star due to transiting planets. When Fermi Paradox was proposed initially, most people thought planets were rare. Nevertheless, since then the astrological tools have discovered the existence of numerous exoplanets. Frequently, the landscape dictates the well–being of the people who live there. In Alan Paton's work Cry, the Beloved Country, he starts the book by describing the South African people's bond to the landscape. Employing contrasting imagery and diction, powerful symbolism, and fluctuating uses of parallelism, Paton demonstrates how the land needs to be healthy in order for the people who live there to thrive, and harm to the earth is mirrored by the deterioration of community. Paton uses vivid descriptions of nature to paint a picture of the land's connection to the tribal people. Initially, Paton reverently describes the landscape using words such as lovely, great, rich, and fairest, which composes an image of thriving land. Additionally, he uses words such as holy and Creator when discussing the land. The earth is rich and lovely to these people, but first and foremost it is a spiritual part of their community. The fact that these people associate the land with their belief in god and their spirituality, exhibited by its description of being holy, is significant because religion is important to these people. This religious diction is contrasted with words such as break down, dry, burned, coarse, sharp, cut, desolate, torn, dead, red blood, and, scratch which depicts a stark difference from ... • 34. Rhetorical Devices In Upon The Burning Of Our House Upon the Burning of our House, July 10th, 1666 was written by Anne Bradstreet, America's first published poet and a famous Puritan writer. The poem is about Bradstreet fleeing her house after she wakes up and discovers that her house has been engulfed in flames. She begins to mourn the loss of her personal items but quickly scolds herself because she believes God has created a home for her in heaven. As Bradstreet takes her mind off losing her earthly possessions, she realizes that she must dissolve her ties to the real world and instead focus on keeping a strong relationship with God. Throughout the poem Upon the Burning of our House, July 10th, 1666, Anne Bradstreet uses rhetorical devices to express that one must overcome their internal struggle with cherishing things on Earth and instead focus on dedicating themselves to serving God who will provide things far more valuable than anything in real life. Anne Bradstreet uses diction to explain how her focus on God has created a life far more beneficial than the one on Earth. For example, Bradstreet expresses this when she bids her house farewell as it is burned to the ground. "In silence ever shalt thou lie; Adieu, Adieu, all's vanity" (Bradstreet 35–36). Bradstreet finally recognizes the fact that everything she owns belongs to God, and there is nothing she can do about it. By using the phrase "All's Vanity", she emphasizes the unimportance of her material goods and instead praises the things that God has provided for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Exploring STEM through NASA The Earth has been classified as a system with many regions and dynamics (Essential Questions, 2015).Every day, scientists, engineers, mathematicians and many other STEM professionals try to understand what goes on in it. All of this helps know how the Earth functions and predict occurrences that could happen at a certain location or region. NASA provides many opportunities for these workers to gather statistics and information about such scenarios and questions. Similar to this, the NASA center in Virginia, Wallops Flight Facility, utilizes the relationship between the state of Virginia and other organizations to offer many prospects to specialists to further advance the knowledge of the realm (Virginia's ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This aids people in focusing on once certain aspect of the Earth rather than processing the entire Earth System. The main point out of all of this is that the Earth is a single connected unit with many complex structures which make it, much like a system (Earth Science, 2015). How is the Earth a System As stated before, the Earth contains many complex and varying units. These units are known as subsystem or spheres. Together, all of these complex and interconnected units form a forever changing item called the Earth System (Interaction Earth, n.d.). Studying these helps researchers forecast any changes, events, or disasters that can occur (Earth Science, 2015). The four main subsystems are the Geosphere, Biosphere, Hydrosphere, and Atmosphere. The Geosphere contains the Earth's core, crust, landforms (lithosphere), and the processes that transform it. The Hydrosphere includes water and all of its forms, like glaciers. The Biosphere covers all life on the Earth. From plants to bacteria to humans, every organism is included in this sphere. The last major subsystem is the Atmosphere. This encompasses the air we breathe, any precipitation, and clouds. It is a thin sheet of air that directs current, controls climate, and waters plants. The top layer of it, the Exosphere, connects with space since it contains such thin air (Systems of Systems, 2015). All in all, the various intricate spheres and subsystems of the Earth, all affecting each ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. The Age Of The Earth The Age of The Earth For decades the age of the Earth has been a major conflict between science and religion, but why is it such a big conflict? If, in the year AD 1600, an individual had asked an educated European how old the planet Earth was and to recount its history, the response would have been that it was about 6000 years old and that its ancient history was given by the biblical account in Genesis (Changing Views of the History of the Earth). If one asked the same question of an educated European in AD 1900, one would have received a totally different answer (Changing Views of the History of the Earth). The answer would have been the Earth was ancient, there had not been a Noachian flood, and that the species of life had not been fixed over the history of Earth (Changing Views of the History of the Earth). In short, Genesis was an allegory and not literal history (Changing Views of the History of the Earth). This brings up the different views between "young earth creationists" and "old earth creationists" and those that support an infinite universe. The problem today is each side contains major valid points of evidence of both biblical and scientific, on the age of the planet Earth. The "young earth creationist" perceptive is the result of a historical–grammatical reading of the description of the early Earth in the Bible or the Islamic Qur'an, which both contain similar accounts of a six–day creation, Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden, and Noah's flood (Biblical ... The National Aeronautics And Space Administration (NASA) Introduction For more than 50 years the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has explored space funded by taxes collected by the US government. There are many benefits stemming from space exploration however, many people don't support funding NASA and believe it is a waste of money. In 2002, the budget proposal for the fiscal year funded $18.7 billion to NASA. This means that "a little more than half a penny of every federal tax dollar ends up at NASA" (NASA's $18.7– Billion Budget: How Much Do You Contribute 1). This means a family with median household income pays $33 per year to find a space program. Persuasive Essay Do Aliens Exist In the present day, Earth is the only example we have of a planet with life. When approaching a topic such as extraterrestrial life, religion and science continuously have a dispute. Throughout history, with limited access to scientific instruments or equipment, people who believed in life beyond earth were in minority. That is why a debate about extraterrestrial life was rather limited before. However, in our modern society, more and more people develop an interest in this topic. With today's ability to travel to space and access to diverse types of machines, scientists are able to entirely dedicate their everyday life to find and establish communication with extraterrestrials. • 39. Astrobiology Research Paper Here we have three rudimentary questions: How does life begin and evolve? Is there life beyond Earth and, if so, how can it be identified? What is the eventual future of life on Earth and in the universe? Astrobiology confronts these riveting mysteries by putting practical use into the study of the origin, evolution, distribution, and future of life in the universe. An astrobiologist is known as a person who researches the possibility of life beyond planet Earth. Astrobiologists attempt to comprehend how life originates and how life manages to survive various types of environments. Usually, an astrobiologist specializes in biology as well as astronomy. As humans [and wizards], we owe our lives to discovering our own universe and beyond, it is our utmost dedication that we discover facts and information on everything around us. People have dedicated months, years, to discovering what truly makes us part of the universe, we have achieved and advanced so much just by studying our stars, our solar system and our neighbouring planets. Muggle Astronomy lacks the accuracy of Wizard Astronomy, you cannot use magic to see far beyond a telescope will allow you, if you are a muggle. But this does not mean that muggles are mere or useless, in fact, we owe a lot of discovery to the muggles around us. Muggle Astronomy involves time, dedication, a life time of patience, sending advanced technology out there, or muggle men they call Astronauts, they danger their lives to discover why we are here, and are we lonely in our little part of space? Wizards have these powers on their doorstep, it is far less dangerous for a Wizard to conduct study than a Muggle, and in many ways more effective, but Wizards lack the motivation to discover, they know so much already and rely too much on their magic, they are nowhere near as determined. Which is why, in many ways, muggle astronomy outweighs our own. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
