For centuries, two main political parties, the Democratic Party, and the Republican Party, have

subject or topic. These are commonly used in schools, to rate and judge the performance of students

Abstract
Information and communication technology (ICT) is most important part of modern education
system. It is highly beneficial for the improvement of students several aspect of knowledge, skill
and attitudes. The study focused in use of ICT with respect to students of class nine and ten from
secondary schools of Kathmandu, Nepal. Responses of 106 students were taken and data has
analyzed by percentage and Mann Whitney U test. It was found that most of the students of that
level are weakly using technology and public school students were poorer in several measured items
even boys and girl students were not differ in the use of ICT. It is important to accomplish so many
properties by several stakeholders for proper use of it in their learning.

read the bible. During this period, the Puritans in Massachusetts enacted the Old Deluder Act,
forcing communities of fifty families or more to establish funds, and operate schools. Many didn't
follow the law because they were not privileged as the wealthy communities were; therefore, many
poor children remained uneducated unless they were taught by their families. According to Bayer &

Education plays important role in society. It determines the final development of an adult's
personality. In today's society most jobs require a University degree. To receive a University degree
students need to rely on a good education system. Does America provide this? The American
education system has relied on the grade point average system for a long time. The problem with
this is there is not a universal GPA grade point system varying from course to course. This creates an
inaccurate way to determine ones overall achievements. Teachers have different standards than
others, grade inflation can occur and students can be exposed to different learning environments.
Does the education system need to change to create fairness?
The American education system has not changed drastically since the 1900s. In the early 1900's
before grading, teachers were expected to communicate in depth to their students on how they were
doing in the class. This worked well for small groups and individual tutoring. The ability for this
information to be passed on to those who were not involved with the learning process, such as
employers and parents was limited. By the mid 20th century schools changed drastically as they
introduced grades in the form of letters. The American schools now became more standardized as A,
B, C, D and F represented ones grade. Depending what percentage a student received determined

Throughout the course of completing this paper I made many major revisions. Initially, I intended to
talk about the causes of suffering in Dostoevsky's Notes from Underground and Chekhov's Vanka
and Sleepy. As I made my discovery draft and even my first draft, my argument did not answer the
question of why the claims I raised mattered. I compared the types of suffering in the works and the
characters reactions to suffering, but I could not make a definitive statement about what the authors
were trying to get across. Because of this, I had to change my argument and the works I was using.
For my new argument, I decided to explore the idea of freedom and how the lack of it leads to
suffering. In this paper, my thesis was stronger because I answered the "so what?" question. My
body paragraphs were stronger too because my topic sentences were assertive. In my first draft of
my new argument I had a strong argument but the structure interfered with the flow of it. In my final
draft, my paragraphs are grouped by common themes instead of by works. My conclusion is also
more developed. It does not merely restate my introduction but brings up new ideas. Overall, these
factors have strengthened my paper for the better. I believe I deserve an A on this paper.

The characters in Anton Chekhov's The Bishop, Vanka, and Sleepy seemingly have nothing in
common. While The Bishop appears to be a story about a discontent priest, and Vanka and Sleepy
about the mistreatment of orphaned servant children, when compared, the characters of both stories
are similar because they lack Chekhov's ideal of absolute freedom. In a letter to an editor, Chekhov
states that absolute freedom is "freedom from force and falseness in whatever form they express
themselves" (Chekhov 271). Chekhov also says that his "holy of holies" is "the human body,
health...and love." Through the lives of the characters in the short stories, Chekhov argues that if you
do not have absolute freedom you cannot pursue these "holy" elements and consequently, you will

There are many connections between Kate Chopin's "The Story of an Hour" and "The Bet" by Anton
Chekhov. "The Story of an Hour" decribes a woman going thourh sadness due to her husband's
death. Louise Mallard's sister Josephine tells her about Brently's death. Louise locks herself in her
room, "sad" about her husband's death. Although he was considered dead, Brently Mallard walks
into Louise's room, and she ends up dying of a heart disease. An optomistoc lawyer bets he can
handle fifteen years of imprisonment in "The Bet". A banker tells him he can't by betting two million
rubles against him. The imprisonment beats the lawyer, and so he cannot collect his prize as he left
early from jail. Many unique connections can be created between the stories.
In both stories, the lawyer and Louise Mallard wanted to experience freedom. Even though the
lawyer in "The Bet" wanted to stay fifteen years in jail, it is still tragic as he wasted fifteen years of
his life. Not much of the lawyer's life was mentioned in the story. The lawyer thought that he
could've found happiness by being free and living in complete isolation, and the rubles he'd be
getting would be enough to have leisure in a pleasant area. His idea was to get the rubles and use
them to create a new life. This did not work, as his mind was mentally broken by his captivity, stated
as "To prove to you in action how I despise all that you live by, I renounce the two million of which
I once dreamed as of paradise and which now I

In Anton Chekhov 's "The Lottery Ticket", we are presented with a couple who, half–believing they
have won the lottery, give themselves over to daydreaming what the future may hold with their
winnings. The point of view is that of the husband though it is clear, throughout, that his thoughts
find their echo in his wife 's. At first his thoughts are pleasant but then, knowing the winnings would
be his wife 's and not his own, he sees trouble ahead, and becomes resentful of her. Only when he
checks the final number to find that they have not won that the reality of their relatively
impoverished situation takes hold and life, once again, appears gloomy and mundane. In Tillie Olsen
's "I Stand Here Ironing", a hopeless mother meditates upon the history of her troubled teenage
daughter whom she feels she can do little to help now as she has been able to do little for her in the
past. With a troubled childhood consisting of abandonment by her father, competition from other
siblings, and growing up in an impoverished environment, there is little wonder as we read Olsen 's
description that the daughter should have turned into a troubled young woman. She ends her

Northeast Brazil is one of the poorest areas in a country where there is an incredibly great divide
between the wealthy and the poor. Similar to the situation in the United States, many impoverished
families are caught in a cycle where being born into poverty means your resources are less
accessible than that of someone born into money. As a result, the young people remain impoverished
throughout their lives and have children that face the same struggle continuing the cycle.. Education

poor condition or non–existent. Post World War II Brazil struggled with its government, instituting

military rule in Brazil until 1988 when a new constitution was written and Fernando Collor de Mello
