Was China's One Child Policy A Good Idea?
China's One Child Policy
China's one–child policy caused female babies to be killed and the elderly neglected. When Mao Zedong had control of China he thought that more
people meant more workers however by 1960 China's population exploded and the one child was established. Was the one child policy a good idea?
China's one child policy was a bad idea because, not enough workers, too many elderly, infanticide of female babies, and because it was not needed.
China's one–child policy caused the policy nation to have fewer workers and more elderly. The number of youth workers has gone down factories

When launching a new product there are several questions you need to ask yourself before taking the next step. You should make sure that the
customers need the new product and make sure it worth the time and money you are going to put in it. You don't want to invest in a product that no
one needs. You should make sure no one else is selling the same product because it can prevent you from making a good profit. You need to make
sure you can provide and afford staff for after hours service for sales and customer service. Know what kind of strategy your going to have when it
comes to pricing your products and make sure your product can change with time and it's not a one hit product. Once you have found the answer to the
questions than you ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These headbands will be sturdy and last a long time so softball players and fans everywhere will be able to enjoy them for a long time.
One of the primary advantages of investing or launching a new product emanates out of the fact that it may be able to capture a new market based on
the preferences of the individuals. With everything that has happened in the last year with record breaking sales of our new line of softball
accessories things couldn't be any better. Profits are at an all time high and there has been little to no losses. But as a business owner I know there is
always room to expand and invest in different products and get involved more in the global market. Now we all know that things seem like it's
going good there is always a possibility that things could make a turn for the worse. I think this company is at a point where we need to increase
our profits and our revenue. With it being off season right now this would be a good time to start looking into the production of the product so when
spring comes around the headbands will be ready to launch. I have researched the best way to launch this product and I think the best way of
communication globally would be the internet When you have a big idea in developing a salty snack product to the market you make efforts to ensure
it reaches the customers as soon as possible. There are many benefits for using an e–commerce platform. It is

Thomas Nagel 's Theory Of Death Essay
In this paper, I will first elaborate on my understanding of Thomas Nagel's theory as to why death, a permanent nonexistent state, is an undesirable state
of being. I will then argue as to why I believe that death is a misfortune using the argument that death terminates the positive experience of life as well
as rebut the counter–argument for why death is good because it gives meaning to life.
Nagel champions the belief that death, a state of permanent posthumous nonexistence defined as "unsupplemented by any form of conscious survival"
(769), is an occurrence that harms us. Nagel's first argument for why death is bad is that it deprives us of life, of which contains various goods that
make life valuable. Nagel supports his argument by saying that "if he [the man] had not died, he would have continued to live it, and to possess
whatever good there is in living" (772). He continues to list goods such as "perception, desire, activity and thought" (769) as he believes that these
are the essential elements to a person meaningful life. Though Nagel concedes that the goods he listed entail both joy and misery, as they are also
fundamental factors of life, he also believes that a life which has more misery than it does joy is still desirable and should not make death seem like
a better option as it ends the misery. His reasoning for this belief is that while a life may have more negative experiences than positive experiences, it
is still "emphatically positive," (770) as the

In Order To Be Classified As A Good Feminist, One Must
In order to be classified as a good feminist, one must live up to the standards put forth by the definition of feminism. I believe that the definition of
feminism is the belief that all women are and should be treated as equals to men. However, Roxane Gay defines feminists as "women who don't
want to be treated like shit" (Gay 169). I do not believe that is fully correct, because women do not want to not just be treated well, but also have the
same rights as men. Roxane Gay makes many assertions on what a feminist should be, but she doesn't act upon them herself. Personally, I believe that
Roxane Gay is a bad feminist because she says "I...want to be myself. Bad feminism seems like the only way I can both embrace myself as a feminist ...

It is fine if you think you can live that way, but I know personally, I would not be able to follow every single rule written by the feminist movement.
The essay also touches on the subject of essential feminism. Essential feminism in the essay is stated as "anger, humorlessness, militancy,
unwavering principles, and a prescribed set of rules for how to be a proper feminist" (Gay 169). This refers to the attribution of a fixed principle of
women and how women should act. When other people insult me because of what I believe in, I often am not bothered by them. However, when
they start trying to insult an entire group of people (i.e., an entire gender), that is when I am bothered. It pains me to watch people think they have
the power to belittle and demean an entire culture and think that their actions will have no repercussions in the foreseeable future. And that is
because there is none. Those people cannot be punished because of the Freedom of Speech rights in the First Amendment. It is completely different,
though, when it crosses the line into hate speech, but people rarely ever notice it. They are too busy trying to fight back with protests, which are
great and get the word across, but instead of protesting, actual work needs to get done. Legislation needs to be passed in state and federal houses of
Congress. That is really where it is going to hurt people, not words on a sign.

Public Goods, Private Goods : The American Struggle Over...
The Ultimate goal of Education system is one of the most frequently asked questions from all stakeholders and their answer mainly depends on their
different prospective. David Labree (1997) in his article "Public Goods, Private Goods: The American Struggle Over Educational Goal" shows how the
three main purposes, which interact and interfere sometimes, have shaped the American education goals, throughout out its practices and policies,
democratic equality, social efficiency and Social mobility. On the same track, Nickols and Cuenca (2014) found in their work "Two Roadmaps, One
Destination: The Economic Progress Paradigm in Teacher Education Accountability in Georgia and Missouri" That teacher preparation programs
influence by what they called "the economic progress paradigm" (p. 457), which is the social efficiency that Labree (1997) had pointed out.
Considering the fact that, which of the three schooling purposes is the most important, I believe the social mobility to be given number one priority,
and to be considered among the other two that can benefit, both individuals and public.
Labaree states, that the purpose of all three has played a major role for a certain time in the history of education in the United States. Sometimes, one
of these purposes supports and other times oppose each other. However, courtesy of these three, social mobility has a good chance to serve schooling's
goals, and satisfy all stakeholders as well. It has all the features and elements, which

`` One Good Question `` By Ray Anderson
Introduction
In the chapter "One good question" in Confessions of a Radical Industrialist, author Ray Anderson (2010) alerts that even though industries (including
his) were very successful in different aspects, their actions were dangerous and were mistaken.
1) The Beginning of Interface
According to Anderson, Interface, a modern and innovative industry producing carpets tiles for different needs, was founded in 1973 (p. 8). Interface
was a fast, profitable and growing business thanks to the concept of Carpet Tiles, which Anderson brought from his trip to England. In addition,
Anderson claims he was considered as a Hero with a very successful business, even though he wasn't bothered by the fact of the drastic amount of
energy his company was consuming (well enough to power a city) (p. 8). Interface manufactured carpet tiles using a lot of oil–derived products
(Anderson, p.8). Anderson states that although all the pollution and waste Interface was generating, the company meant progress for everyone, money,
and it was totally legal in every aspect (p. 9).
2) The question
Anderson points out that he was never concerned about his company's affect on the environment until he received the question (p. 9). In fact, the
question asked what the company was doing in favour of the environment. Due to this, Anderson states that customers are in first place before
everything else for Interface. Consequently, Anderson highlights the importance of any claims or question customers have

Why The Company's Leadership Is Different From Other...
The four–season hotel cares about their internal customers and external customers. Why the company's leadership is different from other hospitality
businesses, here are several reasons. First, four–season hotel has their Golden Rule to obey, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." It
means treat other people with the concern and kindness you would like them to show toward you. This Golden Rule brings a bunch advantages to
four–season hotel. And also encourage all of manager in this hotel treat the employees in kind and respect them.
Second, four–season really cares about the internal customer, employees. In hiring, then, we gave more weight to character and personality than we did

They upgrading a hotel first upgraded employee facilities. When a survey at London hotel showed dissatisfaction with workers' areas, installed new
floors, lockers, and showers within three months. Four–seasons needed to get it down to the front line: clerks, bell–staff, bartenders, waiters, cooks,
housekeepers, and dishwashers, the lowest–paid and in most companies the least–motivated people, but the ones who would make or break a five–star
service reputation. Four–seasons needs employees able and willing to respond on their own to whatever comes up, employees who can spot, solve, and
even anticipate problems. That means delegating authority as well as responsibility. Four–seasons pay attention on how to treat employees and make
them feel confortable when they work in hotel because employees could bring positive attitude towards customers if they in good mood.
A doorman can please the customer with a smile and a few words of welcome, but one surly waiter can kill the effect. Or if we keep an executive
waiting in his suite in his underwear for his only suit to come back from a one–hour pressing, we could lose a lifetime customer worth hundreds of
thousands of dollars. No hotel, however splendid, looks good to someone whose day it has ruined. For example, lodging manager usually work long and
irregular hours including weekends, evenings and most public holidays, usually works indoors, and from an

Conformity, Both a Good Thing and a Bad One
Conformity can be a really good thing or it can be a bad thing. It really all depends on what you are conforming to, or how you are conforming.
According to dictionary.reference.com conformity is the action in accord with prevailing social standards, attitudes, practices (2). Most people
would say that conforming is bad, but if there is two sides to everything. If you are going to conform for the sake of the law then it is a good thing.
Or if you conform to a specific religion then conforming is a really good thing. On the other side of this you can conform and it could be really bad.
You can be asked to conform to a specific situation that can true out bad. Conforming in your values and/or beliefs is a bad thing. It is described this
way in, The Psychological Explanation of Conformity: "Conformity occurs when the subject demonstrates the same behavior or attitude as the object.
The subject is the individual who conforms. The object(s) may be individuals, groups, organizations, policies, rules and regulations, or the experience or
natural instinct of the subject. Conformity is divided into 2 categories: irrational conformity (herd behavior) and rational conformity (abidance,
compliance, and obedience). In this study we explain the meaning of abidance, compliance, obedience, and herd behavior. The conclusions have
implications in the fields of commerce, education, service, politics, management, religion, and more." (3)

Aristotle 's Views On Human Life
For Aristotle the central purpose of human life was happiness itself. As a result, he dedicated his own life to the advancement of the topic by devoting
more time to the subject than any other thinker prior to the modern era. Aristotle's platform, that "happiness depends on ourselves", is the foundation
that he builds his life work upon. Aristotle's metaphorical pursuit of happiness led him to create a science on the subject and institute guidelines and
conditions to follow, such that happiness becomes the key in which to achieve the good life. History views Aristotle as one of the greatest
philosophers. As a former student of Plato, he is most popularly known for his advancements in the fields of mathematics, politics, and physics.... Show

These decisions and actions leading to the ultimate end are classified as means. Aristotle's foundation for personal happiness lies with the question
about ends and means. He determines that since happiness is the ultimate goal, or end, many different means can be used to achieve that goal. For
example, if someone wants a car, achieving that car becomes the ends, while the way they achieve that car becomes the means. Aristotle argues that
there is more than one means to achieve and end, and in this example the individual can achieve the car by stealing it, buying it, borrowing it, or
earning it. The means to achieving the ends are determined by the individual based on which is easier, or ethical. However, the formula never
changes, a means must be chosen in which to achieve the end result. Therefore, to Aristotle, purposeful action, or the means that the ends are
achieved by become just as important to the overall goal of personal happiness. Aristotle questions however, what happens when the ends are met. In
the example of the car, gaining the car now becomes a means to another end. The means the car represents; is the use it plays to the individual who
obtained it. The individual needed the car for a reason, such as going to work or to school, so therefore using the car is the means to achieving the end
goal (school/work). However, achieving the goal of school or work then becomes the means to another end (graduating/making money). This example
shows that when

Pros And Disadvantages Of Walmart
As one of the biggest retailer in the United States, Walmart has many different type of products throughout all 65 supercenters in Michigan. The retail
department stores sell a variety of mostly non–grocery products, though emphasis has now shifted towards supercenters, which include more groceries.
The store is made up as general merchandise and grocery. There are many different type of products that are sold at Walmart such as, home living,
electronics, clothing, sports and outdoor, baby, and lastly grocery. There are more sub groups in each of the following, but those are the main
departments. There are many other stores that has most to all of these departments in them such as, Meijers, home depot, small grocery stores, and
clothes places(Tj maxx, Kohls).
Substitute goods are two goods that could be used for the same purpose. If the price of one good increases, then demand for the substitute is likely to
rise. There are many substitutes in Walmart, lets take grocery for a example, there are three to four brands to one certain product. Like whole has a

One Good Decision For The Marine Corps
One Good Decision
I was a typical 19 year old kid out of high school. I had no inspiring ideas as to what I wanted to be when I grew up. I had a lot of energy with a
rebellious attitude. I went drinking and went clubs that I had no business being in with my "friends" and made some bad decisions. I lived on my
brother's ratty brown couch, in hind sight I was wasting away physically and wasting my life all in one shot. One day I was faced with a serious
decision. Either I am going to continue down the path of destruction and watch my brother get hurt because of me or I get out of my dangerous
lifestyle and become something more. I choose the Marine Corps. Little did I know I just choose to leave behind who I was to become the best man I
never knew I could be.
I will never forget the day I walked into the recruiters office, I was really nervous. The room was clean with posters covering the walls that said
"The Few, the Proud, the Marines", then there was the recruiter in his dress blues. I knew then that I wanted to be a hero like all the action stars I
saw in the movies, I wanted to be strong, and of course I wanted all the girls. After discussing my options me and the recruiter went over the paper
work, I also had to sign a few waivers. One of them is for my weight, after all I am only 110 pounds. After the grueling and uncomfortable probing

THIRTEEN CUSTOMER SERVICE FACTS

Thirteen Customer Service Facts.
Fact Number One
Dissatisfied customers tell an average of ten other people about their bad experience. Twelve percent tell up to twenty people. In very simple terms,
bad news spreads rather quickly. Don't think for a moment that your poor performance in servicing your client goes unnoticed. Not only does it go
unnoticed, but you pay a very dear price for that kind of publicity.
Fact Number Two
Satisfied customers will tell an average of five people about their positive experience. Conversely, the good news, unfortunately, doesn't ... Show more

So when a sale is made, make it clear to the client that you welcome their input and that you would be disappointed if a problem exists that you were
unaware of. This permits the client to let you know that they are experiencing a problem.
Fact Number Seven
In many service industries (yours included), quality of service is one of the few variables that can distinguish a business from its competition. In the
Scientific Apparatus Makers Association, your members may be competing with dozens of other similar companies that make similar products. In
many cases, there's not a nickels worth of difference between the vast majority of products and services that you and your competition offer.
The only appreciable difference is in the service rendered by the sales and service people. For 99.9% of your clients, the SALES AND SERVICE
PEOPLE are the company. Most of the time, they are the only people with whom the client will ever be in contact.
Fact Number Eight
The first thirty seconds of a call or meeting sets the tone for the remainder of the contact. The last 30 seconds are critical to establishing last
rapport. You only get one opportunity to make a first impression...don't screw it up! If you want to be accepted as a professional, you must look and
act the part. If you look and act shabby, you will be perceived as shabby. If you plant peas you get peas, not corn. People will expect of you what you

Truman 's Choice Was A Good One
On August 6, 1945, a bomb with the force of 20,000 tons of TNT, was dropped on the Japanese city of Hiroshima. Three days later a similar bomb
was dropped on the city Nagasaki. Both cities were effectively eradicated and so was there people. Six days after that, Japan surrendered, thus
ending World War II. Americans supported the action of Truman, that is until they saw the images of the destructive power of the bomb. The
horrific images showing the victims of radiation and of burns that are caused by the force of the sun. As the Christian Century writes "What the
use of poison gas did to the reputation of Germany in World war I, the use of the atomic bomb has done for the reputation of the United States in
World War II." The people of America began to question is Truman's choice was a good one. Could have there been a different way to end the war
without using Nuclear force? After six years of war, Germany finally surrendered. This did not mean that Japan would too. Both countries ultimately
entered the war for different reasons. Germany did not because other countries declared war on it because of their imperialism in Europe. Japan
entered the war because they saw a opportunity to acquire land in the Pacific and jumped on it, even if it meant war. So when Germany surrendered, it
did not really affect Japan 's plan. They still wanted land and continued to fight for it. Truman only learned of the bomb when he became president. It
had only recently been tested and found

One More Drink For The Good Times
One More Drink for the Good Times "Let's meet up and indulge in a little drinking this weekend!!" That statement is one heard among the college
community nationwide nowadays. Binge drinking with others to gain new friendships, meet people, among other reasons, on college campuses is the
thought process countless students believe today. "The Harvard School of Public Health found in 1993 that binge drinking is widespread on
American campuses, particularly among members of fraternities and sororities (Bruffee, 1999)." If college students think binge drinking and partying
is "cool" and the best way to meet new friends, they need to think again! Binge drinking is a career killer with terrible consequences. Finding and
receiving the available support when it becomes out of control is the key to gaining a successful college education and finishing school with a degree.
Friends or no friends! First–year college students start out with few friendships in the beginning and typically have a strong desire to make new
friends as soon as possible. Some have a belief making new buddies requires participating in binge drinking, yet doing so is not worth the dangers
and risk. "Binge drinking is tied to some of the most desired aspects of American college life–parties, social lines, dormitory living, athletics, and
interaction with friends (Wechsler, Dowdall, Davenport, and Castillo, 1995)." Every college student wants to have fun with friends while attending

Critical Analysis Of One Good Story That One By Thomas King
One Good Story, That One, a short story by Thomas King, tells of white anthropologists coming to visit an Aboriginal man seeking the "Indian"
creation myth. Due to ignorance towards Aboriginal cultures they leave satisfied with a whimsical retelling, of their own creation myth. Critical
Analysis According to the Our Words, Our Ways document (2005) Aboriginal authenticity depends on seven criteria: Aboriginal community
recognition, cultural authenticity, historical accuracy, objectivity, accurate and respectful language, terminology, and graphics, and recognized sources.
Ideally, resources meeting requirements are considered authentic, but Our Words, Our Ways (2005) also suggests that when a resource fails to meet
criteria discussions with local Aboriginal communities can guide whether all or parts of the resource can be used in class (p. 166). Aboriginal
Community Recognition and Cultural Authenticity Regarding community recognition, this resource come from an Aboriginal author, Thomas King,
of Cherokee–Greek decent. King (2016) clarifies that his father abandoned the family early on forcing the King siblings to live with their mother in
non–Aboriginal communities isolated from relatives and ancestral histories (para. 7). Consequently, this is acknowledged to highlight a western
dominant education and apparent lack of Aboriginal learning due to family circumstances. Inspire of this many Aboriginal communities, such as the

a veritable passion for what he teaches or, less romantic but equally

veritably fascinated by the prospect of describing a picture in English

character come into play. He must possess a sound knowledge of

Summary : ' One Good Time On Rocky Point Mexico '
One Good Time in Rocky Point Mexico Open road, blaring music, and a car full of eager college students holding onto the last glimpse of summer
left. The destination ahead was Rocky Point Mexico, the soul of a good time and bright red sunburns. Going out of the country is definitely a
humbling experience with a lot of unexpected lessons that come along with it. It was not my first time out of the U.S., however, every new trip closes
with a few things learned and information to share with others planning on taking on their own adventure across the border. I will cover my
experience along with all of the do's and don'ts while trekking to Mexico. From packing lists, good restaurants, places to avoid, and the best
excursions and attractions to conquer while abroad, you will know everything you need to know about traveling to Rocky Point by the end of this
review. Planning and budgeting is an essential component for any trip in my opinion, but even more so when going to Mexico. Leaving unprepared
or taking off on a random spur of the moment vacation is a bad idea, that could lead you to sleeping on the beach for the weekend. Fortunately for
our group, this trip was planned months in advanced, with every last detail written out. Driving into Mexico is never usually the hard part, we drove
south of phoenix through heat rays and tumble weeds until we arrived at the border. Before crossing over, there was a massive gas station that
everyone should stop at because it is the last

Common Good Argument
Galston (2013) claims that idea of the common good "has real content in theory and real utility in practice", throughout his essay on the common good,
he provides sufficient evidence to back his main claim and he uses it to refute the arguments of others. He defines three key aspects of the common
good to support his claim of the common good having "real content in theory", these include: 'Inherently social goods', 'Social linkages' and 'The good of
the commons'. Galston (2013) then proceeds to give evidence on the concept of bargaining and the U.S. Constitution; he uses these examples to support
his claim that the common good has "real utility in practice". I believe Galston understands the academic conversation around the common good quite

One example he gives based on inherently social goods is humor, "telling a joke to oneself is virtually impossible, because humor requires surprise",
as a result, this allows us to make the inference that there are certain aspects of life that require the company of others and without it, the good
(humor in this case) would be lost. Galston (2013) states that 'The good of the commons' is when how people behave in shared social spaces impacts
others (p.11). "If we carelessly leave an unextinguished fire in a camp–ground, the entire facility may go up in flames." (p.11), this shows how the
common good includes everyone's best interests and this example in fact shows that it does have "real content in theory" as it is quite easy to imagine

China's One-Child Policy: Was It A Good Idea
China's One–Child Policy: Was It a Good Idea? According to Mao Zedong the Communist leader of China, "people are the most precious.", yet China

The Thesis That Pleasure Is The One Ultimate Good Or Bad
As a teacher you have students each year that have various opinions about things. Not every student is going to agree with each other, but that's what
makes different topics interesting to discuss. The concept of values is very important for everyone to know. The teacher stated this, "You will
explain that values are the standards by which actions and behaviors are judged to be 'right' or 'wrong', 'good' or 'bad'". One student believes that it is
a ridiculous assignment, since everyone has their own values, so there is no answer to what is "right" in the trolley problem. Ethics is a set of moral
principles. Since the teacher is doing a unit on values which are actions and behaviors that are "right" or "wrong", "good" or "bad", it is important ...

In this article it stated this, "Kant's theory is an example of a deontological moral theory–according to these theories, the rightness or wrongness of
action does not depend on their consequences but on whether they fulfill our duty." As an innocent bystander I would want to kill the least
amount of people, so I would pull the lever. In the PowerPoint it stated this, "Always act in such a way that the maxim of your action can be willed
as a universal law of humanity," (Lawrence M. Hinman). Death is a topic that is viewed differently because there are many factors and feelings
involved. Different factors include if you know the person, how old, and many more. It would also make a difference if you were a bystander or the
driver, because if you were the driver and you pulled the lever you could get fired. As I stated above it does not matter about the consequence, it is

Factors Influencoing Household Demand
Q1 В– Analyse the factors which may influence the household demand at a micro level for consumer goods. 1250 words
If the economy is defined as the institution which facilitates the production, exchange and consumption of goods, then the micro–level economy is that
pertaining to individual goods and the factors and behaviours affecting individual products. When these micro level economies come together, they
combine to create the (macro) economy. Part of the structure of micro economy is the behaviour of households as one of the economic agents.
Alongside firms (producers), their decisions and actions are among the most significant features of the circular flow of income model. Central to the
model is the consumption by those households ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As Apple Inc. reduces the cost of the item, sales are likely to increase significantly as the product becomes available to more households. A similar
elasticity applies to household income and different goods known as В‘income elasticity '. As incomes change, some goods will be affected (income
elastic goods) more than others (income inelastic goods). Again, the example of black & white TV 's shows how an inferior good has negative income
elasticity.
Substitute & Complimentary Goods
The concept of elasticity also leads to another factor affecting household demand as the quantity demanded for one good can impact the price of
another, thereby affecting the household decision to buy. This is determined by understanding the result where the percentage change in demand
of one good is divided by the percentage change in price of another within the same sector. If the resulting value is positive, the relationship of the
goods is described as В‘substitute '. If the value is negative then the goods are regarded as В‘complimentary '. An example of a complimentary
good might be CD 's. If the price of DVD recorders increases, then the demand for blanks DVD 's may drop as consumers decide not to purchase a
recorder. A substitute good can be shown in the example where the price of DVD players reduces (leading to increased demand), therefore leading to
reduction in demand for video players. The DVD is substituting the video

What Is Higher Education Public Or Private Good?
Higher education was first developed to educate the elite largely including those individuals training in key professions like the ministry. Religious
institutions established private universities and access to higher education was not an issue of concern. Today, a university education is not reserved
for only the elite individuals training in a few select professions Conversations regarding access for all instead of access for few are prevalent. In fact,
the United States Government and states within are establishing educational attainment goals for their citizens. President Obama has even said that by
2020, the United States will have the highest proportion of college graduates in the world. With edicts such as this, one must wonder where funding for
such a goal will come from. This question becomes even more relevant as tuition costs continue to rise at a rate higher than that of inflation. Will
students themselves, private donors, or state and federal governments fund the goal? Questions such as these also bring to mind the question of whether
higher education is a public or private good. This paper will explore private and public goods, whether higher education is considered public or private,
and the challenges associated with each.
Public goods are not dependent on a market. A public good is provided to all individuals whether or not they contribute to the good and its production
through taxes or any other form. Thus, public goods are non–excludable, and, usually,

Is Rome Worth One Good Man's Life Essay
Sarah Wrigley – Script:
"Is Rome worth one good man's life? We believed it once" This quote by Lucilla in the motion picture Gladiator by Universal Studios, is the reflection
upon one of Rome's most significant values, the pride in honour. During Augustus' reign, Romans became willing to do anything that would gain glory
for their nation. This induced pride and unity made the Roman Empire the presence it was in the Ancient World. In contrast, the periods of influence of
Nero, Caligula and Commodus who were often described as "ruthless and bloodthirsty, famous for their tyrannical reigns of terror" morphed this
ideology. This resulted in these times as a Rome that was not worthy of any honourable man's death. Therefore, when comparing the reigns of Augustus
and Nero, the leadership of Augustus allowed Rome to be worth one good man's life as result of the advancements that occurred in Rome. In contrast,
Nero as the Emperor destroyed the honour in Rome with poor choices such as the persecution of Christians. However, not all can be blamed on Nero
as many circumstances shaped the man he was and his attitude towards life.
But who were these men? And why were the reigns so memorable?
Let's begin with Augustus.

the paragraphs below, good customer service is broken down into the definition, what the customer and employer view is, and how good customer
service affects the reputation of the business.
Definition
According to Customer Service for Dummies, customer service is how well an employee is communicating and creating a relationship with a customer
(1). Each business has either a mission statement or purpose that incorporates customer service into it. Customer service policies within businesses
define how their employees should behavior when a situation arises with a customer.
An example of a customer service policy is the policy stated on the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Grand Island on its website. The policy states, "At the
Grand Island Fairfield Inn & Suites, you are our #1 priority. We promise you will be satisfied, or we will make it right. That is our commitment to
you." Policies like this one show how some businesses take customer service very seriously because their customers are of the most importance;
although, most businesses have different views on what the true meaning of customer service is in their business.

China's One Child Policy Does More Harm Than Good Essay
Population Control in China: One Child Policy Does More Harm Than Good
Arzigul Ablet is a woman in China. She got permission from the Chinese government to become pregnant, with one exception: she had to give birth in
early January 1997. Arzigul went into labor and ended up having her baby in December of 1996. Due to nature's timing, the government fined her
3,000 yuan, or $362.40. This amount was equal to the amount Arzigul earned in a 6–month period (Fatkulin).
The one–child policy in China came about in 1979; it refrains families from having more than one child. The reason the government felt the need to
institute this policy was because the population of China was growing so rapidly that they had to do something to stop ... Show more content on

Some women even try to conceal their pregnancies, but they are usually caught. If they get caught, their healthy baby is aborted. If they aren't caught,
their child can be "denied residency, food, healthcare, and even schooling" (Fatkulin). Also, if women go to a hospital to give birth, and their baby is
outside of the quota, the doctor is required to either strangle or poison the baby (– – –). This control the government has over its people is criminal.
The Chinese government believes that women who have numerous children become very tired, worn out and unhealthy. That is one reason they supply
abortions and sterilizations, but a pregnant woman named Patam had an abortion forced upon her by the Chinese government, and it left her
paralyzed. She hasn't been able to walk or even stand since her baby was killed (Fatkulin). She hasn't been the only one who has been hurt. Men and
women both are physically and emotionally damaged due to the forced abortions and sterilization. If women get pregnant when they aren't supposed to,
then they will be harassed or arrested until they voluntarily walk into an abortion clinic (– – –). The harassment doesn' stop with words. Some women
are"psychologically and physically pressured toabort unauthorized children, to the point of being dragged to the abortion mill" (Smith). One woman,
while being interviewed, said, "I was four–and–a–half months pregnant. They wanted me to report

The good old good old days, a time of peace and happiness and kind of a shady subject. First of all, when were these "good old days"? Is there a certain

than the present time". This mood of wishing to return to a simpler, happier time is extremely prevalent in the generation of students that are now

him who are striving just as hard as he is to achieve the same goal. However, the author is attempting to stand out from the pack but is finding it
difficult to come up with new ideas that are not already present in today's music. The feeling is portrayed that it might be easier to just go back to a
time when all of these ideas were not present so that then each idea an artist had could be new and unheard of.
In addition to wanting to return to a place in time where everything is new and unheard of, the author also wishes to go back in time to where each

Money Priming Effects The Level Of Support For Government...
Money is necessary to store wealth and complete transactions. This study investigates how money priming effects the level of support for government
goods and services and privatisation. To test theories about money 306 first year psychology students completed a memory task which primed them to
think about money or acted as a control. They then rated the importance of different government goods and services and privatisation options. The
results opposed our hypothesis that money priming would lead to less support for government services and more support for privatisation, and that
money priming would lead to less support for specific programmes compared to universal programmes. The findings can be applied in making
government referendums, as money will not cause a change in the attitude of voters.
The effect of money priming on individuals attitudes towards government goods and privatisation
Everyday money is used to complete transactions, hold wealth and settle debts. Using money is unavoidable and it plays an essential role in our day
to day lives, but how does it affect the way we behave? Many experiments have been used to show that getting people to think about money through
priming before they do a task can get people to behave in a more independent, but less socially–conscious way , possibly by causing a "business
decision frame"(Vohs, Mead and Goode 2006). Priming is activating an idea in someone's mind through a particular task which affects the response

Customer Service Is Where It All Begins
Customer service is where it all begins. It is from the moment of meeting a customer to the moment of saying goodbye. Customer service is the root to
a successful business and one of the most important aspects. However, most businesses, of all kinds, lack good customer service and lacking good
customer service can hurt a business in many ways. I am employed at David's Bridal in Baton Rouge and have heard of many customer complaints. My
solution to this problem takes three steps. When hiring, an interviewer should look for extensive experience in customer service, followed by very
frequent customer service training among employees, and finally giving an incentive to employee for having good customer service and encourage
them to continue. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The problem is employees are not going the extra mile to help their customers throughout the whole experience and process. (Kauffman) Every
business relies on their customers coming back. Without brides, bridal gowns are not being sold. If employees cannot treat customers with half
the attention they deserve, then there is a problem. The cause of bad customer service comes from employees not caring or being passionate. To
some employees at David's Bridal it is just a second job. Most people do not have a good tolerance for the energy it takes to be there one hundred
perfect for their customer. Customers often have a short tolerance for patience and are not always very forgiving. Customer complaints can arrive
from something a customer saw and or heard that they did not like. This can mean seeing employees look or act unprofessional or from an employee
being rude and unhelpful. "'If we would treat customers like we would normally treat guests in our house, we 'd have a lot more business,' West said."
(Jones)
Another cause of bad customer service comes from the hiring process. There is a lack of clearness on the vision and expectations for the new
employee. The problem can also root from new employees not seeing good examples from employees who have been at the company for some time.
Sometimes new employees see current employees doing things they should not be doing and that will cause new employees to already slack. Not

demonstrates the three rules needed to write a successful book. They are the setting, good imagery, and symbolism. These rules should be the base
of any great book. A good rule to begin with would be foreshadowing. Butler started the story off with, "The trouble began long before June 9, 1976,

Wine : A Good One And Health Benefits Of Wine
Wine – How to Pick a Good One and Health Benefits of Wine
A good bottle of vino can be more than the perfect dinner accompaniment. It can also boost your health with a dose of antioxidants! For the
uninitiated, the world of wine can be overwhelming but that's no reason to stay away! This primer will help you figure out what to look for so you
can find a bottle that is delicious and healthful.
Healthy Moderation
Research consistently shows that drinking a moderate amount of wine can be beneficial. The American Heart Association defines a moderate amount as
a 4 ounce serving once or twice a day. However, drinking 2 glasses per day adds up to 14 drinks per week, a bit excessive considering that the CDC
classifies heavy drinking as 8 drinks a week for women and 15 for men. Since a standard bottle of wine holds about 6 servings, a good balance may be
to drink about 1 bottle a week.
Drinking wine may help prevent heart attack and lower the risk of heart disease. Some evidence also shows that it may lower the risk of type 2
diabetes, stroke, cataracts, and colon cancer. In addition, it may protect cognitive function by slowing brain decline and also may generally promote
longevity. Check out this article from Food and Wine to read about the evidence supporting these claims.

You should make sure that the customers need the new product and make sure it worth the time and money you are going to put in it. You don't want to invest in a product that no one needs. With everything that has happened in the last year with record breaking sales of our new line of softball accessories things couldn't be any better. Profits are at an all time high and there has been little to no losses. But as a business owner I know there is always room to expand and invest in different products and get involved more in the global market. • 5. Thomas Nagel 's Theory Of Death Essay In this paper, I will first elaborate on my understanding of Thomas Nagel's theory as to why death, a permanent nonexistent state, is an undesirable state of being. I will then argue as to why I believe that death is a misfortune using the argument that death terminates the positive experience of life as well as rebut the counter–argument for why death is good because it gives meaning to life. Nagel champions the belief that death, a state of permanent posthumous nonexistence defined as "unsupplemented by any form of conscious survival" (769), is an occurrence that harms us. Nagel's first argument for why death is bad is that it deprives us of life, of which contains various goods that make life valuable. Nagel supports his argument by saying that "if he [the man] had not died, he would have continued to live it, and to possess whatever good there is in living" (772). He continues to list goods such as "perception, desire, activity and thought" (769) as he believes that these are the essential elements to a person meaningful life. Though Nagel concedes that the goods he listed entail both joy and misery, as they are also fundamental factors of life, he also believes that a life which has more misery than it does joy is still desirable and should not make death seem like a better option as it ends the misery. His reasoning for this belief is that while a life may have more negative experiences than positive experiences, it is still "emphatically positive," (770) as the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. In Order To Be Classified As A Good Feminist, One Must In order to be classified as a good feminist, one must live up to the standards put forth by the definition of feminism. I believe that the definition of feminism is the belief that all women are and should be treated as equals to men. However, Roxane Gay defines feminists as "women who don't want to be treated like shit" (Gay 169). I do not believe that is fully correct, because women do not want to not just be treated well, but also have the same rights as men. Roxane Gay makes many assertions on what a feminist should be, but she doesn't act upon them herself. Personally, I believe that Roxane Gay is a bad feminist because she says "I...want to be myself. Bad feminism seems like the only way I can both embrace myself as a feminist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is fine if you think you can live that way, but I know personally, I would not be able to follow every single rule written by the feminist movement. The essay also touches on the subject of essential feminism. Essential feminism in the essay is stated as "anger, humorlessness, militancy, unwavering principles, and a prescribed set of rules for how to be a proper feminist" (Gay 169). This refers to the attribution of a fixed principle of women and how women should act. When other people insult me because of what I believe in, I often am not bothered by them. However, when they start trying to insult an entire group of people (i.e., an entire gender), that is when I am bothered. It pains me to watch people think they have the power to belittle and demean an entire culture and think that their actions will have no repercussions in the foreseeable future. And that is because there is none. Those people cannot be punished because of the Freedom of Speech rights in the First Amendment. It is completely different, though, when it crosses the line into hate speech, but people rarely ever notice it. They are too busy trying to fight back with protests, which are great and get the word across, but instead of protesting, actual work needs to get done. Legislation needs to be passed in state and federal houses of Congress. That is really where it is going to hurt people, not words on a sign. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Public Goods, Private Goods : The American Struggle Over... The Ultimate goal of Education system is one of the most frequently asked questions from all stakeholders and their answer mainly depends on their different prospective. David Labree (1997) in his article "Public Goods, Private Goods: The American Struggle Over Educational Goal" shows how the three main purposes, which interact and interfere sometimes, have shaped the American education goals, throughout out its practices and policies, democratic equality, social efficiency and Social mobility. On the same track, Nickols and Cuenca (2014) found in their work "Two Roadmaps, One Destination: The Economic Progress Paradigm in Teacher Education Accountability in Georgia and Missouri" That teacher preparation programs influence by what they called "the economic progress paradigm" (p. 457), which is the social efficiency that Labree (1997) had pointed out. Considering the fact that, which of the three schooling purposes is the most important, I believe the social mobility to be given number one priority, and to be considered among the other two that can benefit, both individuals and public. Labaree states, that the purpose of all three has played a major role for a certain time in the history of education in the United States. Sometimes, one of these purposes supports and other times oppose each other. However, courtesy of these three, social mobility has a good chance to serve schooling's goals, and satisfy all stakeholders as well. It has all the features and elements, which ... • 11. `` One Good Question `` By Ray Anderson Introduction In the chapter "One good question" in Confessions of a Radical Industrialist, author Ray Anderson (2010) alerts that even though industries (including his) were very successful in different aspects, their actions were dangerous and were mistaken. 1) The Beginning of Interface According to Anderson, Interface, a modern and innovative industry producing carpets tiles for different needs, was founded in 1973 (p. 8). Interface was a fast, profitable and growing business thanks to the concept of Carpet Tiles, which Anderson brought from his trip to England. In addition, Anderson claims he was considered as a Hero with a very successful business, even though he wasn't bothered by the fact of the drastic amount of energy his company was consuming (well enough to power a city) (p. 8). Interface manufactured carpet tiles using a lot of oil–derived products (Anderson, p.8). Anderson states that although all the pollution and waste Interface was generating, the company meant progress for everyone, money, and it was totally legal in every aspect (p. 9). 2) The question Anderson points out that he was never concerned about his company's affect on the environment until he received the question (p. 9). In fact, the question asked what the company was doing in favour of the environment. Due to this, Anderson states that customers are in first place before everything else for Interface. Consequently, Anderson highlights the importance of any claims or question customers have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They upgrading a hotel first upgraded employee facilities. When a survey at London hotel showed dissatisfaction with workers' areas, installed new floors, lockers, and showers within three months. Four–seasons needed to get it down to the front line: clerks, bell–staff, bartenders, waiters, cooks, housekeepers, and dishwashers, the lowest–paid and in most companies the least–motivated people, but the ones who would make or break a five–star service reputation. Four–seasons needs employees able and willing to respond on their own to whatever comes up, employees who can spot, solve, and even anticipate problems. That means delegating authority as well as responsibility. Four–seasons pay attention on how to treat employees and make them feel confortable when they work in hotel because employees could bring positive attitude towards customers if they in good mood. A doorman can please the customer with a smile and a few words of welcome, but one surly waiter can kill the effect. Or if we keep an executive waiting in his suite in his underwear for his only suit to come back from a one–hour pressing, we could lose a lifetime customer worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. • 13. Conformity, Both a Good Thing and a Bad One Conformity can be a really good thing or it can be a bad thing. It really all depends on what you are conforming to, or how you are conforming. According to dictionary.reference.com conformity is the action in accord with prevailing social standards, attitudes, practices (2). Most people would say that conforming is bad, but if there is two sides to everything. It is described this way in, The Psychological Explanation of Conformity: "Conformity occurs when the subject demonstrates the same behavior or attitude as the object. The subject is the individual who conforms. The object(s) may be individuals, groups, organizations, policies, rules and regulations, or the experience or natural instinct of the subject. Conformity is divided into 2 categories: irrational conformity (herd behavior) and rational conformity (abidance, compliance, and obedience). • 14. Aristotle 's Views On Human Life For Aristotle the central purpose of human life was happiness itself. As a result, he dedicated his own life to the advancement of the topic by devoting more time to the subject than any other thinker prior to the modern era. Aristotle's platform, that "happiness depends on ourselves", is the foundation that he builds his life work upon. Aristotle's metaphorical pursuit of happiness led him to create a science on the subject and institute guidelines and conditions to follow, such that happiness becomes the key in which to achieve the good life. History views Aristotle as one of the greatest philosophers. As a former student of Plato, he is most popularly known for his advancements in the fields of mathematics, politics, and physics.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These decisions and actions leading to the ultimate end are classified as means. Aristotle's foundation for personal happiness lies with the question about ends and means. He determines that since happiness is the ultimate goal, or end, many different means can be used to achieve that goal. For example, if someone wants a car, achieving that car becomes the ends, while the way they achieve that car becomes the means. Aristotle argues that there is more than one means to achieve and end, and in this example the individual can achieve the car by stealing it, buying it, borrowing it, or earning it. The means to achieving the ends are determined by the individual based on which is easier, or ethical. However, the formula never changes, a means must be chosen in which to achieve the end result. Therefore, to Aristotle, purposeful action, or the means that the ends are achieved by become just as important to the overall goal of personal happiness. Aristotle questions however, what happens when the ends are met. In the example of the car, gaining the car now becomes a means to another end. The means the car represents; is the use it plays to the individual who obtained it. The individual needed the car for a reason, such as going to work or to school, so therefore using the car is the means to achieving the end goal (school/work). However, achieving the goal of school or work then becomes the means to another end (graduating/making money). This example shows that when ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. One Good Decision For The Marine Corps One Good Decision I was a typical 19 year old kid out of high school. I had no inspiring ideas as to what I wanted to be when I grew up. I had a lot of energy with a rebellious attitude. I went drinking and went clubs that I had no business being in with my "friends" and made some bad decisions. I lived on my brother's ratty brown couch, in hind sight I was wasting away physically and wasting my life all in one shot. One day I was faced with a serious decision. Either I am going to continue down the path of destruction and watch my brother get hurt because of me or I get out of my dangerous lifestyle and become something more. I choose the Marine Corps. Little did I know I just choose to leave behind who I was to become the best man I never knew I could be. I will never forget the day I walked into the recruiters office, I was really nervous. The room was clean with posters covering the walls that said "The Few, the Proud, the Marines", then there was the recruiter in his dress blues. I knew then that I wanted to be a hero like all the action stars I saw in the movies, I wanted to be strong, and of course I wanted all the girls. After discussing my options me and the recruiter went over the paper work, I also had to sign a few waivers. One of them is for my weight, after all I am only 110 pounds. After the grueling and uncomfortable probing and prodding that was my physical, I have a schedule I leave for the great sunny state of California. It was Monday November 7th of ... Three days later a similar bomb was dropped on the city Nagasaki. Both cities were effectively eradicated and so was there people. Six days after that, Japan surrendered, thus ending World War II. Americans supported the action of Truman, that is until they saw the images of the destructive power of the bomb. The horrific images showing the victims of radiation and of burns that are caused by the force of the sun. As the Christian Century writes "What the use of poison gas did to the reputation of Germany in World war I, the use of the atomic bomb has done for the reputation of the United States in World War II." The people of America began to question is Truman's choice was a good one. Could have there been a different way to end the war without using Nuclear force? After six years of war, Germany finally surrendered. This did not mean that Japan would too. Both countries ultimately entered the war for different reasons. Germany did not because other countries declared war on it because of their imperialism in Europe. Japan entered the war because they saw a opportunity to acquire land in the Pacific and jumped on it, even if it meant war. So when Germany surrendered, it did not really affect Japan 's plan. "The Harvard School of Public Health found in 1993 that binge drinking is widespread on American campuses, particularly among members of fraternities and sororities (Bruffee, 1999)." If college students think binge drinking and partying is "cool" and the best way to meet new friends, they need to think again! Binge drinking is a career killer with terrible consequences. Due to ignorance towards Aboriginal cultures they leave satisfied with a whimsical retelling, of their own creation myth. Critical Analysis According to the Our Words, Our Ways document (2005) Aboriginal authenticity depends on seven criteria: Aboriginal community recognition, cultural authenticity, historical accuracy, objectivity, accurate and respectful language, terminology, and graphics, and recognized sources. Ideally, resources meeting requirements are considered authentic, but Our Words, Our Ways (2005) also suggests that when a resource fails to meet criteria discussions with local Aboriginal communities can guide whether all or parts of the resource can be used in class (p. 166). Aboriginal Community Recognition and Cultural Authenticity Regarding community recognition, this resource come from an Aboriginal author, Thomas King, of Cherokee–Greek decent. In the following week, the attendance doubled. The good teacher then, has a veritable passion for what he teaches or, less romantic but equally effective, can pretend to be. To assume that a human being can be veritably fascinated by the prospect of describing a picture in English would transcend the boundaries of good sense. Again, the example of black & white TV 's shows how an inferior good has negative income elasticity. Substitute & Complimentary Goods The concept of elasticity also leads to another factor affecting household demand as the quantity demanded for one good can impact the price of another, thereby affecting the household decision to buy. This is determined by understanding the result where the percentage change in demand of one good is divided by the percentage change in price of another within the same sector. If the resulting value is positive, the relationship of the goods is described as В‘substitute '. If the value is negative then the goods are regarded as В‘complimentary '. • 32. Is Rome Worth One Good Man's Life Essay Sarah Wrigley – Script: "Is Rome worth one good man's life? We believed it once" This quote by Lucilla in the motion picture Gladiator by Universal Studios, is the reflection upon one of Rome's most significant values, the pride in honour. During Augustus' reign, Romans became willing to do anything that would gain glory for their nation. This induced pride and unity made the Roman Empire the presence it was in the Ancient World. In contrast, the periods of influence of Nero, Caligula and Commodus who were often described as "ruthless and bloodthirsty, famous for their tyrannical reigns of terror" morphed this ideology. This resulted in these times as a Rome that was not worthy of any honourable man's death. Therefore, when comparing the reigns of Augustus and Nero, the leadership of Augustus allowed Rome to be worth one good man's life as result of the advancements that occurred in Rome. In contrast, Nero as the Emperor destroyed the honour in Rome with poor choices such as the persecution of Christians. This feeling is voiced in the lead in to the chorus "My names 'blurryface' and I care what you think. My names 'blurryface' and I care what you think." (7–8) This fictitious character "Blurryface" is said to care about what you think of him, but is aware that to you he is just another face in the blur of the crowd. This need for a unique, personal identity is driving the writer to wish to go back to a time where each and every person is unique and is not just lumped together in a group of similar people. "Blurryface" is a symbol of the loss of uniqueness and identity that occurs when a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Examples Of One Good Deed In The Count Of Monte Cristo Everyone has done a good deed at one point in life. Some people do genuine good deeds, but others do them for their own personal gains. In The Count of Monte Cristo, Alexandre Dumas expresses the idea that "one good deed deserves another" using the characters, and their actions. He shows how the characters at times do genuine and good deeds, and them doing good deeds for their own purpose. Dumas provides examples of this when DantСђs does genuine good deeds for the Morrel family, when Faria alone does a good deed for DantСђs while he was just there with Faria. Dumas also provides an example of a falso good deed when the Count saves Heloise and her son from some wild horses. Reasons for why the Count saved them is because they were pawns... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Abbe Faria helped DantСђs in countless ways. From teaching DantСђs everything he knows, to calling him, his own son. "Alas, my boy," Faria, smiling, "human knowledge is quite limited. When you've learned mathematics, physics, history and three or four living languages I speak, you'll know everything I do" (49). " 'You're my son!' cried the old man" (60). Faria also helps DantСђs solve the mystery of why he was imprisoned, and tells him the location of the Spada treasure at the Isle of Monte Cristo. " "Do you know who Monsieur Noirtier was? He was the deputy's father'... 'Yes, his father, whose name is Noirtier de Villefort'... A dazzling light seemed to flash through DantС ђs brain and things which had until the remained dark and obscure now became crystal–clear to him" (48), " 'This piece of paper, my friend,' said Faria, "is my treasure, half of which belongs to you from this day on' " (53). Faria helps DantСђs in all these ways, but DantСђs never helps Faria in the way Faria has. The only thing DantСђs ever did for Faria was staying with him until Faria died and becoming a son–like figure for him. This is an example of a genuine good deed on Farias part, but not on DantСђs'. DantСђs never does a good deed for Faria or returns Farias ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Money Priming Effects The Level Of Support For Government... Money is necessary to store wealth and complete transactions. This study investigates how money priming effects the level of support for government goods and services and privatisation. To test theories about money 306 first year psychology students completed a memory task which primed them to think about money or acted as a control. They then rated the importance of different government goods and services and privatisation options. The results opposed our hypothesis that money priming would lead to less support for government services and more support for privatisation, and that money priming would lead to less support for specific programmes compared to universal programmes. The findings can be applied in making government referendums, as money will not cause a change in the attitude of voters. The effect of money priming on individuals attitudes towards government goods and privatisation Everyday money is used to complete transactions, hold wealth and settle debts. Using money is unavoidable and it plays an essential role in our day to day lives, but how does it affect the way we behave? Many experiments have been used to show that getting people to think about money through priming before they do a task can get people to behave in a more independent, but less socially–conscious way , possibly by causing a "business decision frame"(Vohs, Mead and Goode 2006). Priming is activating an idea in someone's mind through a particular task which affects the response ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Customer Service Is Where It All Begins Customer service is where it all begins. It is from the moment of meeting a customer to the moment of saying goodbye. Customer service is the root to a successful business and one of the most important aspects. However, most businesses, of all kinds, lack good customer service and lacking good customer service can hurt a business in many ways. I am employed at David's Bridal in Baton Rouge and have heard of many customer complaints. My solution to this problem takes three steps. When hiring, an interviewer should look for extensive experience in customer service, followed by very frequent customer service training among employees, and finally giving an incentive to employee for having good customer service and encourage them to continue. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The problem is employees are not going the extra mile to help their customers throughout the whole experience and process. (Kauffman) Every business relies on their customers coming back. Without brides, bridal gowns are not being sold. If employees cannot treat customers with half the attention they deserve, then there is a problem. The cause of bad customer service comes from employees not caring or being passionate. To some employees at David's Bridal it is just a second job. Most people do not have a good tolerance for the energy it takes to be there one hundred perfect for their customer. Customers often have a short tolerance for patience and are not always very forgiving. Customer complaints can arrive from something a customer saw and or heard that they did not like. This can mean seeing employees look or act unprofessional or from an employee being rude and unhelpful. "'If we would treat customers like we would normally treat guests in our house, we 'd have a lot more business,' West said." (Jones) Another cause of bad customer service comes from the hiring process. There is a lack of clearness on the vision and expectations for the new employee. The problem can also root from new employees not seeing good examples from employees who have been at the company for some time. Sometimes new employees see current employees doing things they should not be doing and that will cause new employees to already slack. Not having good role ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Octavia Butler's Three Good Rules Equals One Good Book Three Good Rules Equals One Good Book In the novel Kindred by Octavia Butler is about courage and reveals that one who is willing to sacrifice their safety for others is a benevolent person and is almost guaranteed, respect, or hatred from the people around them. The book Kindred demonstrates the three rules needed to write a successful book. They are the setting, good imagery, and symbolism. These rules should be the base of any great book. A good rule to begin with would be foreshadowing. Butler started the story off with, "The trouble began long before June 9, 1976, when I became aware of it, but June 9 is the day I remember" (Butler 13). When the reader reads this they wonder why this date in general, it is her birthday but as they continue... (Butler 15). This was a great place to put such imagery because it describes the setting and what women wore. Although she was at the riverbank and she was bound to get mud on her she still wore that dress; Butler describes the scene making it sound old and because of her good imagery she is able to make the reader feel like they are there and experiencing it. Butler also created a character with a gun she described the gun with, "I turned, startled, and found myself looking down the barrel of the longest rifle I had ever seen. I heard a metallic click" (Butler 14). Butler shows the rule, use good imagery, when she describes the gun when I read it I felt like I was there I read quickly but it felt like it lasted a bit longer because it makes your heart beat faster because she described it and you felt like you were so close to ... • 45. Wine : A Good One And Health Benefits Of Wine Wine – How to Pick a Good One and Health Benefits of Wine A good bottle of vino can be more than the perfect dinner accompaniment. It can also boost your health with a dose of antioxidants! For the uninitiated, the world of wine can be overwhelming but that's no reason to stay away! This primer will help you figure out what to look for so you can find a bottle that is delicious and healthful. Healthy Moderation Research consistently shows that drinking a moderate amount of wine can be beneficial. The American Heart Association defines a moderate amount as a 4 ounce serving once or twice a day. However, drinking 2 glasses per day adds up to 14 drinks per week, a bit excessive considering that the CDC classifies heavy drinking as 8 drinks a week for women and 15 for men. Since a standard bottle of wine holds about 6 servings, a good balance may be to drink about 1 bottle a week. Drinking wine may help prevent heart attack and lower the risk of heart disease. Some evidence also shows that it may lower the risk of type 2 diabetes, stroke, cataracts, and colon cancer. In addition, it may protect cognitive function by slowing brain decline and also may generally promote longevity. Check out this article from Food and Wine to read about the evidence supporting these claims. Choosing Wine 1.Find a good source If you have a specialty wine shop nearby, pay them a visit.
