Assuring Quality in Polyglot institution<br />Done by: Suleiman Al_subeihi<br />2011  <br />Overview:<br />This proposal is to ensure quality in Polyglot institution which is the most known institution in Oman. Polyglot institution gives various courses in computer and English language skills, in computer section it gives basic and advance skills in networking, designing and maintenance. On the other said, it provides 8 levels in teaching English skills. Most of people study in this institution because they believe it provides benefit and useful courses. Also, they search for benefit certificate which give them a chance to get more allowance in their occupations or to get extra skills in computer or English language. I studied a course in this institution which is about networking, so I have an experiment and knowledge about the nature of this institution, especially about institution's environment, personnel and the content, so in this proposal I will assess these elements according to my experiment.<br />Personnel: <br />The staff of this institution is administrator, instructors, reception employees and cashier. I want to make sure how they do their job and tasks to ensure the quality of institution's services which provided by this staff. Also, to assess progress of their job to achieve the goal and objectives of the institution. I will use specific tool to assess them (will be considered latter in this proposal).<br />Content:<br />According to my experiment, I used the content of this institution. Content is very useful and fit the target objectives as I think. It contains theoretical and practical sections whether in computer's content or language's content. But I want to make sure the quality of delivering and designing the content by using a specific assessment tool.<br />Environment<br />The institution have many labs for teaching computer skills, each lab is for target group of specific course. Labs are provided by enough computers and its equipment or tools for practical lessons. Classes for teaching language skills are provided with round tables, boards, bens, appropriate air conditions and lights. In this proposal I will assess this environment to make sure of environment's quality.   <br />           <br />Tool for assessment:<br />In this section I suggest many tools to assess personnel, content and environment of this institution, first I will begin with personnel, I will assess teachers, customers or students and administrator..Description as follow:<br />,[object Object]
Teachers: I think surveys and descriptive reports are good tools to assess the performance of teachers. Survey provides a good opportunity for students to give their impacts of teacher's performance and achievement. On the other hand, descriptive report allow student to put their comments or suggestions to improve performance of teachers.
Customer or student: questioner is the best tool to collect customer' satisfaction about any service in this institution.Second, tool used to assess the content: I think survey is the best tool to assess the quality of content because; it has statements for rating scale and open-ended questions to let the customers express their views and feelings toward courses.  <br />Third, tools used to assess environment: checklist and outside evaluator are the best tools to assess institution's environment. Checklist is a suitable tool to measure degree of services' quality. Checklist allow customer to check the fundamental standards of equipment and nature of classes. On the other hand, outside evaluator give more comments and suggestions to improve the quality of environment.   <br />Fishbone Diagram:<br />
