The Authoritative Parenting And The Style Of The Parenting...
The parenting style that my parents use is definitely authoritative. My parents have shown authority
towards me and my siblings but have always been flexible with their rules. My parents have never
stressed us out by being too strict with their rules. The first question I asked my parents was, "how
would you react if one of my siblings or I asked to come home later than you originally told us to
come home?" My parents responded that they would ask why we want to come home later and then
tell them they can come home later at a certain time but no later than the extended time. This fits
exactly with the authoritative parenting style because my parents would extend the time which is
being flexible and then also they would enforce a new time for us to come home which shows
authority. Next I asked my parents, "what would you do if one of my siblings or I got in trouble at
school?" My parents said they would have a talk with whoever got in trouble and make sure they
know not to ever do it again. Also, my parents said they would discipline whoever got in trouble by
doing more chores or taking away their phone for a day. This fits with the authoritative parenting
style as well because my parents are making us understand what we did wrong and learn from it.
They would also give a consequence because of it but nothing that is too harsh because they trust us
to learn from what we did. After that, I asked my parents, "what would your reaction be if I did not
do my chores at the house?"

Learning Styles And The Learning
According to the researchers, the experiential learning is the best way to teach the students. They
said that the knowledge process is made with the help of transformation and the series of
experiences (Peter, 2010). Later on, the researchers showed that the learning styles is the collection
of the characteristics, the ways of gathering information, organizing information and thinking about
the information.
It is an examined fact that the people's learning style includes all the things they know, acts they do,
facts they believe in and the way they perceive information (Hayward Andres, 2015). The studies
show that all the types of people have their own learning styles and their types of getting
information is also different from each ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the other hand, some learning styles and techniques help the students to target on the weak areas
in which they need recovery and improvements.
The cycle of learning helps the student nurse to adopt new skills and get information about the latest
products and the information. The learning process contains 4 important steps. These steps are the
identifications of the needs, the requirements of learning, the design of the learning, delivery of the
learning courses and programs and the learning evaluation.
First of all, the identification of the needs for the learning process is very important for the student
nurses. Why do they need to study? What is their main aim to get education? What is the purpose of
the study and many other important questions are considered under this point. On the basis of the
need identification, the further process continuous.
The next point is the consideration of the learning requirements. These requirements should include
all the important things that are required things that are used in the learning process (Velma Lee,
2011). For an example, the student nurse should use the audio and visual aid to get the information.
Nowadays, with the advancement of the technology, people also refer different applications to the
student nurses to get information. All these are the requirements of learning process for the student
nurses.
Generally the design of learning is decided by the teachers

Management Style
As you may know, different management styles are required in different parts of the world. It is
important to choose the right management style for each situation, which is a key to success for an
organization. All managers use a management process which consists of planning, organizing,
leading and controlling. So they have to perform many roles in an enterprise. What they can do with
various situations will totally depend on their style of management. A management style is an
overall method of leadership used by a manager (Lessem et al, 1999). This essay will first
demonstrate different types of management styles, and then discuss three key factors that can
influence management style, with reference to Japan and America.
Each of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Japanese style takes a collective form of responsibility. Those manufactures produce high
product quality at a relatively lower cost (Alston, 1986). The reason is that this sense of collective
responsibility has positively affected the quality standards. Product quality is cooperatively achieved
by workers and managers. Japanese tend to believe the group is more important than the individual
(Alston, 1986). In terms of decision–making, they probably attempt to gain consensus even if it
might require more time. As to Americans, who are almost self–centered, they apparently choose to
make quick decisions on their own for immediate resolution (Anderson, 2009).
The second factor is staff belonging. The general principle of Japanese management is that workers
form a family (Alston, 1986). As a part of the corporate 'family', every member not only pays
attention to their own salaries, but also considers the development of the company. Pay is only one
reward. There is also a sense of belongingness and support that employees receive from their
corporations. On the contrary, Americans tend to indicate that there is no need for them to become
familiar with one organization and colleagues before they are off again on their trips (Wellens,
1980). Perhaps individual freedom is more essential than staff belonging in their mind. This
different attitude leads to diverse management styles. One consequence for Japanese is the practice
of lifetime employment. The

Closing cycles, shutting doors, ending chapters – whatever name we give it, what matters is to leave
in the past the moments of life that have finished. Did you lose your job? Has a loving relationship
come to an end? Did you leave your parents' house? Gone to live abroad? Has a long–lasting
friendship ended all of a sudden? You can spend a long time wondering why this has happened. You
can tell yourself you won't take another step until you find out why certain things that were so
important and so solid in your life have turned into dust, just like that. But such an attitude will be
awfully stressing for everyone involved: your parents, your husband or wife, your friends, your
children, your sister. Everyone is finishing chapters, turning over new leaves, getting on with life,
and they will all feel bad seeing you at a standstill. Things pass, and the best we can do is to let them
really go away. That is why it is so important (however painful it may be!) to destroy souvenirs,
move, give lots of things away to orphanages, sell or donate the books you have at home.
Everything in this visible world is a manifestation of the invisible world, of what is going on in our
hearts – and getting rid of certain memories also means making some room for other memories to
take their place. Let things go. Release them. Detach yourself from them. Nobody plays this life

VARK Learning styles: Read/write learning style
Overview of the read/write learning style
The read/write learning style mainly makes the use of printed words to receive and convey learning
information. Using the style enables one skill to become the input of another through the transfer of
the ability to read to that of writing. The skills transfer is integral in raising the awareness of how
the structural components involved in learning are shared in both reading and writing modalities
(VARK, 2016). One of the reasons a leaner may choose to embrace the read/write learning style is
because it facilitates cognitive concept mastery since it brings out the aspect of making ... Show

In case the study consists of charts, diagrams, actions and reactions, one ought to change them into
words or statements ( Routman, 2014). With correspondence to the listed personal strategies, the
VARK strategies require that an individual ought to write the principles and ideas from the intake
sources into other words (VARK, 2016). Reading notes again and again silently is another VARK
strategy which can be compared to developing questions as indicated in the personal strategies.
Writing words again and again as a preferred VARK strategy is the strategy that somehow
challenges the personal strategies but it can be partly linked to reading the notes, summary and the
developed questions again and again to enhance mastery
How teaching and learning is influenced by the awareness of the learning style, preference and
strategies
Read/write learning style has significant influences on both teaching and learning; hence,
determining how a teacher should execute the teaching role and how a student receives and retains
concepts. The use of reading/ writing style exercises metacognition in learning, thereby, positively
influencing learning. The style compels learners to be engaged in metacognitve processes, then
enables them to regulate and attend to cognitive processes (Heeney, n.d). On the other hand, the
awareness of the reading/writing learning style influences the mode of

Parenting Styles
During my upbringing, the parenting style that I have experienced would be the authoritarian and
authoritative style. In life, my parents have been strict at times but lenient at most times. My parents
have been the type to let me be free, because I was raised to be respectful towards others. Through
junior high, my parents were very strict about what I did. In my home we had security and cameras.
My parents didn't like many of the people that came over to our home. There were times my parents
let me go out and have fun but I had to have my homework done. I wasn't antisocial in school but
withdrawn. I wouldn't blame it on my parents because I hated hanging around with friends. I
thought the decision most of my peers made were pretty ridiculous.

The Value of Learning Styles
The Value of Learning Styles Learning styles and their value have been debated for some time.
Students may have a preferred style but this doesn't mean that educators should use just one form to
accommodate an individual's style. Using a multitude of styles will keep a student's interest and will
ensure a more solid understanding of the information presented.
Many researchers believe that everyone has a preferred learning style and have developed a list of
questions and if answered truthfully, are designed to indicate what preferred style the learner has.
The basic learning styles are auditory, visual and kinesthetic. The auditory learners prefer
information presented in a lecture format; Visual learners will do best with images or ... Show more

M., 2013, p. 2). With all of these varying ideas on how to categorize students way of learning it
becomes difficult to know how to best accomplish teaching for a group of different learners. While
it would seem that students benefit from learning in their preferred style or type the reality is that
there may be more to this. The unfortunate truth is the studies that investigate teaching to the
student's style are for the most part flawed. The few that are not flawed show no benefit to teaching
to the student's style. (Guterl, S., 2013, p.2). Cognitive ability and the subject being taught may play
more of a role in the student's ability to learn and retain. The idea to cater to students strengths
seems counter productive. If a student struggles with visual learning, it may be advantageous to
develop that shortcoming. The goal of any education program is to leave with more knowledge. The
idea of stretching the abilities of students will only benefit them in the end. When a child is very
little and unable to walk we don't discourage them from developing the strength and coordination to
walk, even though there are other ways of moving around. We know that in time they will learn to
walk and eventually run. We encourage them to stretch their abilities and by that develop more
abilities. The same could be said of learning styles; by a student learning in a style that is less
desirable they are developing a new strength.
Another way to look at learning styles is the

Authoritarian Styles Of Parenting Styles
Tyler who's now 5 was told to pick up his toys before dinner, he has not done so and is throwing a
tantrum because he said it too much work.
An Authoritarian style parent would yell at Tyler making him pick up the toys by himself. If Tyler
persisted his tantrum a spanking would ensue and Tyler would still have to pick up the toys.
Grounding would be the next step with more yelling for not doing what he told when he is told to do
so. Authoritarian style parents believe in bending the will of the child to that of the authority that
including church, teacher, or parent. An example of an authoritarian parent is a military family,
because of the external standard set by the military on the parent serving they often bring that same
structure and discipline home with them by setting the same or similar standards at home.
An Authoritative style parent would listen to Tyler when he says cleaning up his toys is too hard. An

Results from parenting quiz:
An authoritative parent 'operates on the belief that both the child and the parent have certain rights
and that the needs of both are important. The parent is sure that she is in control and doesn't need to
assert physical force to keep the child on the right track. Rather, an authoritative parent is more
likely to control her child by setting rules and explaining why these rules are important and why
they must be followed'.

Edgar Allan Poe Writing Style
Edgar Allan Poe's life was filled with tragedy, everybody he really loved died of tuberculosis or left
him. He constantly was rejected in his life and really never found someone who truly understood
him. Poe's mother died when he was three and his father left him, So Poe had some traumatic
experiences at a young age. Poe and his sister were later adopted by the Allen family and moved to
England. Poe later joined the military and started to write. Later he married his thirteen year old
cousin who died of tuberculosis. He then went on to marry two more women, but one left him and
he died on his last wife. Poe's life was constantly filled with death and disappointment which
explains his vivid style of writing. His traumatic life is explained through his dark writing, and the
way he explains the story. Poe's vivid writing style is constantly shown through his unique literary
techniques.
One literary device Poe uses to show his vivid style is imagery. In Poe's short story "The Cask of
Amontillado", he describes the antagonist (Fortunato) as he greets him, "He accosted me with
excessive warmth, for he had been drinking too much."(234) Since Poe's writing is so vivid in the
detail, the imagery in this quote can almost make the reader feel how Fortunato is greeting him. The
reader can almost feel Fortunato's warmth and smell the alcohol. Poe also uses his imagery to make
the reader imagine the area he is in. In the same short story Poe describes the catacomb that he is in

The Permissive Parenting Style
In the article "Don't trust anyone over 30" study explained correlation between parental legitimacy,
the three parenting styles and the predicted outcome of delinquent behavior. The three main
parenting styles covered were; authoritative, authoritarian and permissive. It states that the parenting
styles that is practice at home could be one of the potential factor that contributes to the future
criminal behavior and parental legitimacy tends to intercede between the two. The group that were
being studied consisted of middle and high school students from " the New Hampshire Youth
Study". The research included three phases (T1, T2 & T3 questionnaires) in a longitudinal study that
lasted about 18 months. The results were that authoritative parenting style had a more positive
association with parental legitimacy versus authoritarian parenting style. There was no association
between permissive parenting style and parental legitimacy, but it was associated with delinquent
behavior. Lastly, parental ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

parenting style to the point that the child is free to do whatever he or she wants to do, without any
control or limits. There are no rules established for the child to follow and it leans more on the non–
demanding side. Permissive parenting style is linked to future delinquency problems. Both
authoritarian and permissive parenting styles are affiliated with impending delinquent behavior

An Introduction to Management Styles
Unit 4001 – An Introduction to Management Styles
1. Be able to understand assumptions about human nature and managerial behaviour.
1.1 Identify models which make suppositions about human nature and behaviour at work
Theory X and Theory Y represent two sets of assumptions about human nature and human
behaviour that are relevant to the practice of management. They describe two contrasting models of
workforce motivation. Theory X represents a negative view on of human nature that assumes
individuals generally dislike work, are irresponsible, and require close supervision to do their jobs.
Theory Y represents a positive view of human nature and assumes individuals are generally hard–
working, creative, and able to take on responsibility ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
7. The average human being is inherently self–centred and indifferent to organisational objectives.
8. The average human being by nature resists change.
9. The average human being is gullible and not very bright.
Theory Y views human beings in optimistic or positive terms. The assumptions of this theory are:
1. The average human being does not inherently dislike work.
2. Employees will exercise self–direction and self–control if they are committed to objectives.
External control and the threat of punishment are not the only means to make employees to work
towards objectives.
3. Commitment to objectives is a function of the rewards associated with their achievement.
4. The average human being can be motivated by higher level needs i.e. esteem and self–
actualisation needs.
5. The average human being learns not only to accept but to seek responsibility.
6. The average human being seeks responsibility because it allows them to satisfy higher–level
needs.
7. The capacity to exercise imagination and creativity in the solution of problems is widely spread
throughout the population.
Theory Y suggests or contributes the following thoughts :
(i) Management is responsible for organising the resources of the company to achieve organisational
objectives.
(ii) Employees are not lazy or passive or resistant to organisational objectives.
(iii) Work is natural to employees if managers can release and channel the employees'

The Autocratic Management Style As A Non Effective Style
The Autocratic Management style is not hard to distinguish in the workplace. Opinions are kept to
themselves concerning the firm's approach to cases, and all employees know what they are expected
to do and not do. In this management style only one attorney is in charge and he or she resolves all
issues. This type of management style can be thought of as more of a dictatorship. They can be
found in small–scale offices and there is only one attorney proprietor. The staff is never in doubt
about their position in the firm. It is always understood what your duties are for the day and no
unprofessionalism will be tolerated. Sometimes the messenger can suffer for being the bearer of bad
news. This style is obviously a more popular with managers. Their thought process is, that this style
is necessary in order to have complete control of the practice in order to keep the work production
flowing.
The Democratic Management style is considered to be a non–effective style. According to Everett–
Nollkamper, there are two types of democratic management styles, they are: "(1) all attorneys have
management responsibility, or (2) only owners have management responsibility. The democratic
management style is one of the more popular forms of management in most large corporations in
today's business market" (Everett–Nollkamper, 2014). This type of management style is ideal
because it allows employees to be free. They are able to express themselves and their ideas with

The Literary Style Of Edgar Allan Poe
No two authors are ever identical, they craft their stories precisely while mixing in their own style to
differentiate them from the others and allow them to stand out. Many respected authors use literary
devices to make the work their own. For instance, well renown author Edgar Allan Poe has a style
that is famous for its unusual usage of the many literary devices to contribute to his Gothic writings.
Poe's style is bound together with what we see in most of his work such as using diction to create
allegories and allusions, using mood to create suspense, and symbolism to create a meaning deeper
than what our eyes see. To demonstrate an idea through words on a paper takes a skillful writer, but
to use those words to make the story a whole new idea than what is written, the writer must have a
style that is different and flexible such as Poe's. Poe takes a contrastive path with diction in almost
all of his works. Each word he uses is part of an overall view, such as in the story "The Raven", Poe
uses vivid verbs and rare words to convey an idea that everything he has written about is an allegory
to the memories of Lenore. Also, one of his other works uses his word choice to relate the narrator
to the Book of Revelations. Poe uses the sentence "And then my vision fell upon the seven tall
candles upon the table.", he uses this set of words to relate the man in the black robes to the
Judgement of Man in the Book of Revelations (Pit 1). Poe uses all the help he can get from his
words to compose something that stands out from other published authors. His usage of allegories
and allusions make his stories authentic. Mood plays an enormous part in a narrative writing. It
gives you a feel of the story and what the author is trying to convey. Poe uses mood to make you
feel what the narrator is feeling. Such as in "The Pit and the Pendulum", Poe uses repetition and
imagery to create the mood of the story for us to feel as if we were in the narrator's shoes. In most of
Poe's works he uses mood and centers the whole story around it to appeal to the audience. In "Cask
of Amontillado" the narrator and Fortunato go down to the catacombs of his ancestors. While
getting lower into the catacombs, Poe starts to use the

Learning Styles : A Learning Style Assessment
A learning style is a term used to describe the ways in which people gather, interpret, and store
information. Each style can be broken down into a category based on sensory needs: auditory,
visual, and tactile. The presumption is that you will best retain the information presented to you if
the conditions of your learning style meet. Based on the idea that learning styles exist, I consider
myself a visual learner. I prefer to write instructions and keep my thoughts organized. I generate
ideas based on reading examples or watching instructional videos. As a child, my preferences were
lined primarily with auditory learning. I could easily remember things that spoken to me. As our
personalities develop and environment changes, so do our learning styles.
A learning style assessment is a good way to gather information about your primary learning style.
A series of questions are asked to determine your sensory preferences. Our learning environment
can play a role in how well we will retain the information given to us. We may use different learning
styles based on the situation. A learning style assessment offers a variety of scenarios to assess the
way you learn most of the time. The questions vary from the type of books you enjoy to what you
do while you wait in line at a store checkout. According to the assessment, my learning style is 40%
Auditory, 35% Visual, and 25% Tactile. As a primarily auditory learner, "you learn best by hearing

This situation can be explained by Chinese mood. Wang (2010) indicated that the cultural
background, policy and economic conditions of the country have suffered Chinese managers to
confuse the existed management styles, which requires a new way to get accustomed to modern
market. Moreover, some internal and external factors should be considered between Chinese style
and western style.
Paternalism style is used widely in Chinese state–owned company. Firstly, the influence of
management style in China is competition. Obviously, as a most potential international market,
more and more western companies enter the local market, like Wal–Mart. The external retail
companies including Hong Kong companies have possessed almost retail market in China. In this
circumstance, small–sized private company cannot compete with magnates; only the state–owned
enterprise can rely on the policy to rival magnates in this area. The reason is that western large–
scale companies have developed over many years; some of them have even existed for many
centuries, such as Mercedes–Benz. It has long history, 110 years, in the automotive industry, and has
a mature management style and company culture. China also has own automotive industry named
Shanghai Automotive, which has been established 30 years, but the quantity of sales are better than

Parenting Styles
Parenting styles depends based on caregiver traits and the personalities of the children. Culture is
also a factor that has an effect on the type of parenting skills towards their children. Diana Baumrind
acknowledged three parenting styles, along with a fourth that was incorporated later. The first style
of caregiving is Authoritarian. In authoritarian parenting, it does not matter what the child say, what
the parent says is final. If the child does not corporate, strict punishment is delivered. In a better
understanding, parents set down clear rules and hold high standards [1]. They do not expect their
children to propose opinions, or talk about emotions. Parents usually do not show affection even
though they do love their child. The second ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Parenting Styles: East or West?
Parenthood is a privilege but is also a great responsibility. Parents wish there was a manual that
came along with children when they were born; however, that is not the case and parents can only
do their best in different situations. How parents act in child rearing is called parenting styles, and
geographically speaking there is a wide variety of styles practiced. The most controversial styles are
the ones adopted by the eastern and the western cultures in the world. While eastern parents are
stricter and demanding, western parents are more flexible, nurturing, and more tolerant. Amy Chua's

She wants her children to be happy, and in fact she has never pressured her children to make any
decision or play a specific instrument. Hanna Rosin believes "It is better to have a happy,
moderately successful child than a miserable high– achiever." (Rosin par 12) Rosin is the extreme
opposite of Chua; she believes children should grow up making their own decisions without parents'
pressure.
While parenting for Chinese is like a dictatorship aimed to succeed, parenting for Americans is more
about providing children a happy childhood because it is one of the most important and memorable
times of life. Amy Chua believes that children's self–esteem should not be a factor to influence
parenting methods; instead it can be used "against" children to help them be more motivated. She
believes that Chinese children are eternally indebted to their parents and that this attitude makes
Chinese parenting better. Finally, she believes that no matter what the children want, it is the parent
who knows what is best for them. In contrast, Hanna Rosin believes that children's self–esteem is
important, and they should be treated in a gentle way. She believes that strict parenting doesn't
necessarily mean better, happy or grateful children. Finally, she believes that children should be
entitled to decide what they want in their lives. As a final point, I would like to mention that Chua,
Rosin, and millions and millions of parents around the world only want the best

Parenting Styles
Parenting children is probably the most important, difficult, and thankless job in existence. I should
know, I am the father of two girls; one is 27 years old and the other is 25, and now a grandfather as
well. I have heard many people say things like: "I raise my kids the way I my parents raised me"
(while complaining about the things that their parents' did), "I am doing the best that I can" (then
learn to do better), and "children should be seen and not heard" (This was my father's favorite).
Nobody seems to know the perfect way to raise children; is there a perfect way?
When I did a Google search for the term "parenting styles", I got over 52 million results; the term
"parenting experts" gave me over 109 million, and "popular parenting ... Show more content on

At first, I had a lot of fun; I enjoyed the exercise, practice, and discipline, at least for the first hour.
Because I showed early skill, my father forced me to continue into the second and third hour on a
daily basis, very much like Chua did with her own children. I eventually became very good at it; but
2–3 hours of daily exercise and boxing in the ring soon became tedious and was no longer fun. In
her article, Chua says "what Chinese parents understand is that nothing is fun until you're good at
it." Unlike Chua's children, who learned to enjoy the violin and piano as their skills increased, I did
not; I learned to hate the entire sport of boxing, and to this day will not even watch it. It was not all
bad though, I learned discipline and tenacity from that experience (and how to avoid a punch). My
father used combination of authoritarian, authoritative, and sometimes uninvolved parenting styles.
It was common to hear phrases like "because I said so", "you live in my house, you obey my rules",
or "children should be seen and not heard (and preferably not seen)" from him. However, if I shared
any of his interests (camping, archery, guns, cars, etc.), he became a role–model in that area; my
mother used more of a permissive and authoritative mixture of parenting. Both of them together
provided many good, as well as some bad experiences. I knew that my parent loved me; but just as

Writing Styles Of My Writing Style
Sometimes when I look at the writing styles of my peers, be it on social media, emails I can sense a
distinction between the different writing styles that are used. When I'm writing whether it be in an
email, text or a lab report I try my best to write everything more formally and longhand, which a lot
of people tend to overlook in today's society.
The last thing I wrote was a letter that I had sent to my significant other through the mail. The
nuances of writing seem to be disappearing from today's society, the finer intricacies of the English
language will be lost in a generation or two, and cursive language is no longer being taught in
schools, with all the abbreviations being used a lot of writing feels less personal and more
mechanical.

Parenting Style Of Parenting Styles
Pin pointing a specific parenting style that I was raised by was quite difficult. I believe that most
parents use different styles throughout the raising of their children. Of course, I do understand that
this paper is to select the dominate style of parenting used for my upbringing, but I was raised in
two different households. Each household had its own dominate parenting style, however most of
my life I was raised by my mother, so I'll focus on her parenting style. As I stated above, I believe
parents use almost all the parenting styles in dealing with different situations. My mother was no
exception to this. She could go from authoritarian to permissive without even blinking an eye,
which is why I was difficult for me to select a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Overall, my mother was distant and didn't expect much from my siblings and me. An example of
this parenting style would be when I found out I had received a scholarship from the Heartland
Foundation. When my mother found out she went on multiple social media sites to tell everyone the
good news, but she did not contact me at all. I ended up asking her to be my plus one to the
scholarship dinner; I guess I'm still stuck in the loop of trying to make her proud. On the way to the
dinner the car was filled with silence. No congratulations. No "I'm proud of you" moments. Just
heavy silence. At the dinner we spoke maybe twenty words to each other. Most of these words were
commenting on how nice the Bone Student Center looked and how delicious the meal was. When
the dinner ended, my mother drove me back home and said goodbye. No "I love you". Nothing but
goodbye. Another example of my mother's disengagement would be when my sister was suspended
multiple times and almost expelled. My sister tried to find attention from other people since she was
receiving none at home. Her way of gaining this attention was getting into fights, and sadly, it
worked. It took three incidents to gain the attention of my mother, and this only gained her attention
because she received three different tickets for the fighting from the police

Learning Styles And The Learning Style
In this essay I will be exploring the importance of learning styles and the effectiveness of them to
student nurses, providing evidence from learning theories and also acknowledging David Kolb's
experiential cycle (1984). Furthermore, I will be discussing my dominant learning style, providing
the advantages and disadvantages of my learning style on my learning and development,
considering the various ways I can improve my learning. I will also explain my weaker learning
style and express the different ways I can improve it, in making it an effective learning style for me
to improve the quality of my learning.
The Oxford dictionary of English (2010) defines learning as "the acquisition of knowledge or skills
through study, experience or being taught". Each individual has their own preferred style of
learning, for example some individuals may prefer visual learning rather than text–based learning
(Hughes, 2002). Due to each individual having and understanding their own preferred method of
learning, this helps them to process information and learning new things.
As a student nurse, it is vital that you understand how you learning because, this could have an
impact on your learning. Adding to this, being able to identify your learning style will help you to
make an understanding of something you do not understand. As a student nurse, I believe that
having understood my preferred learning style, I have been able to complete my assignments and

What is a referencing system?
A referencing system is a set of rules and principles that is used to attribute the contributions of
other authors within your own written work. This is achieved by both acknowledging, and
identifying the source of, the other authors' work.
There are two parts to academic referencing: the acknowledgement (of the other authors' words and
ideas) in the body of your text (the in–text citation); and the identification of their work in full at the
end of your document (the end–text citation in the reference list).
Copying the words and ideas of others without acknowledging correct ownership is called
plagiarism. Plagiarism may result in failure of a unit or entire course, fines, prevention from entry
into professional associations and other disciplinary

Management Styles
There are several very different types of management styles ranging from democratic which allows
the subordinates to play an active role in the decisions that management makes to autocratic which
cuts the subordinate out of the decision making process allowing those in management to make a
unilateral decision. Both styles have their proponents as well as their detractors. This paper will
outline the various forms of management and attempt to clarify and categorize their various
strengths and weaknesses.
I. AUTOCRATIC

employees think; but rather allows the members of management to make unilateral decisions ...

Goleman also warns that "the democratic style can have its drawbacks. One results when a leader
over relies on this approach is exasperating, endless meetings in which ideas are mulled over,
consensus remains elusive, and the only visible outcome is to schedule yet more meetings
(Goleman, Boyatzis and McKee)."
III. PARTICIPATIVE
________________________________________
The participative style is a hybrid between the autocratic and the democratic styles of management.
This style will often ask for and listen to the opinions of subordinate employees, but in the end they
do not have a say in the final decision (Exploring Different Management Styles).
This style is an attempt at a compromise whereby the subordinates get to speak their mind and yet
the managers are still free to make snap decisions that are in the best interest of the company.
Some subordinates may still feel that they are not truly being heard by management. To help
promote morale, the managers of an organization need to make sure that any idea that was submitted
by a subordinate is publically implemented. If the employees see that as a whole they are being
heard then they will not take it personally when

Styles Of Parenting Styles
Basically all the traits that would would be expected a child to have based on each caregivers
parenting style if very different. Every child is different a way of parenting style may or may not
affect you in the future. For, example Ben Carson raised by single parent with little to no money.
Ben Carson grew with a mind for violence such as almost killing some loved ones of his. However,
today Ben Carson is a retired neurosurgeon. This just show that not every child living in poverty and
being influenced by violence is most likely to not succeed and continue that path as a child.
Children that grew up with parents with an Authoritarian style of parenting often had poor social
skills, lower self esteem, and basically always concerned of their actions because they are afraid of
the consequences. Children with Permissive parents know that they will always have it there way.
Children that grew up in this way of parenting tend to me immature, and often escape
responsibilities. Children with Authoritative parents tend be better off than the other children who's
parents style of parenting was either authoritarian or permissive. These children turn out to be the
happiest, most successful and basically a more cooperative friendly child. B) I do not believe these
traits apply to me. Even though I was raised by an authoritarian mother and ... Show more content

Parenting Styles My term paper will discuss the 4 Styles of Parenting, including; the styles of
parenting that we as single parents and couple parents may identify with. My paper will also discuss
how each parenting styles impacts our children, if it works and the style of parenting that's most
effective. Authoritative Parenting Style The Authoritative Style of Parenting, children are expected
to follow the rules and guidelines that a parent with this style of parenting has put into place. This
type of parents are responsive to their children and willing (eager) to listen to questions.
Authoritative parents gives reasonable demands, consistent limits, expresses warmth and affection
which every child, I think, yearns for. Rules are set and reasons behind the rules are explain to
ensure that the child (ren) understands. They're also willing to listen to the child's feelings when
setting these limits. Parents with this style of parenting are flexible and willing to bend the rules in
certain cases– for example, allowing the child to stay up an hour pass the normal bedtime, so that
the child can finish watching television. When a child (ren) fail to meet the expectations that an
Authoritative Parent is more of a nurturing and forgiving parent rather than punishing. These types
of parents uses rewards, praises, and positive consequences for good behaviors. Baurmind (1971,

Why Is Parenting Style And The American Parenting Styles?
Talking about multicultural societies, why is parenting style included as part of multiculturalism?
Parenting styles was included as part of multiculturalism because a parenting style is like a habit,
and many people define a habit as a culture. Parenting styles have been used for more than a
hundred years, and every parent has their own style to teach their children based on their general
behaviors. Which parenting style do you think is better between the Indonesian parenting style and
the American parenting style? It is up to you. You can choose whatever style you want, and which
style you think is better for you. Parenting styles in Indonesia and America have similarities;
however, they have more differences that we can contrast.
Asian parents ' parenting style is not bad at all. I think the answer depends on the person who
chooses to use this style. Asian parents are very disciplined and strict with their children. Like what
I heard from many people a long time ago and also about the article I noticed the maturity difference
between high schoolers in Indonesia and America..." (Carly). They said that Asian parents rarely
lose their eyes from their children; moreover, they give their children a limited time to go outside
from home, and if they are late to come home, they will get some punishment, so they would not
break the rule again. Another example is parents almost all the time asked their children to study
every day. Children go to school in the morning, and after

Through the use of free indirect style, the authors are able to offer shifting perspectives which

Different Styles Of Parenting Styles
According to the New York Metro Parents, a website that combines nine regional print magazines in
New York's Metropolitan areas, several studies of babies left to cry in their rooms show that parents
can't love a child too much. Ferberized children tend to grow up to be extremely successful later in
life. These children grow up to be tomorrow's doctors, firefighters, and millionaires of Silicon
Valley. (Hogan and Haskell, 2). Most of today's kids have one of the following types of parents:
Indulgent, Authoritative, Neglectful, Authoritarian*. These are generally regarded as the four main
types of parenting. These four styles of parenting are the stereotypical parenting styles most people
identify one or both of their parents as. Indulgent parents tend to coddle their children and protect
them from disappointment. Authoritative parents are people who have reasonable demands and rules
usually met by children who respond well and listen to them. Though they have high expectations,
these parents' children tend to meet or exceed the expectations due to the resources the parent's
provide. These parents are known by some children as the "golden guardians." They are what every
parent who has ever purchased a parenting book strives to become. Authoritarian parents have
extremely high expectations that are almost impossible to meet and very strict rules that must be
followed unconditionally. These adults are the origin of parental nicknames such as "Scary Gary"

I think so many factors influence parenting. I would like to start this off with one of the most
important factors I think that influence parenting, and that is having a child unplanned and not being
ready for it versus planning for a child and being ready for it.
I am a little old fashioned when it comes to certain things and especially when I think of how I
would raise my child. I do not have one, and I am a lesbian. I am not sure when I will have one, but
I want to with a potential partner, hopefully she can carry or we can adopt as well. When I say I am

It's the parent's job to stay on top of things like that, so the children don't end up watching anything
bad. I also think some children play electronics too much, there is nothing wrong with them playing
it by all means, but I think some parents stick them on it so they don't have to deal with them.
Another big issue is many parents get mad at their children because when it's during the school
season, some young children don't like to do homework. When I was younger my dad taught me my
alphabets, math, emergency numbers, and address at a very young age. My dad always bought me
coloring books, pencils, and papers to keep me busy. We had a Nintendo system, but I barely used it.
Even though my parents didn't speak English or learn the things I did in school they would still try
their best to help me or find me help. People cannot expect for their children to love studying and
working with school materials if you don't support them and work with them. When I have my
child, I plan to paint and color with them all the time. It's so important to be active with children
especially when they are young and their brains are developing.
Communication and patience is the key with children. Also the right amount of emotion and love is
very important. I know raising children is not easy that's why it's not meant for everyone. And
planning ahead I think makes a huge difference. My friends tell me when I talk about what I would

96% of authoritative parents love their children unconditionally, while permissive parents are at
89% and authoritarians are at 31%. Parenting styles have a enormous say in how your children will
grow up. How you prefer to raise your children basically boils down to three major groups. Those
are the authoritarian, authoritative, and permissive. Although there are five styles of parenting, those
are the most commonly adopted. Authoritarian parents tend to have the "I have complete dominance
over you" thinking. Permissive parents are, the more laid back parents who do not long to upset

The Authoritative Parenting And The Style Of The Parenting...

  • 1. The Authoritative Parenting And The Style Of The Parenting... The parenting style that my parents use is definitely authoritative. My parents have shown authority towards me and my siblings but have always been flexible with their rules. My parents have never stressed us out by being too strict with their rules. The first question I asked my parents was, "how would you react if one of my siblings or I asked to come home later than you originally told us to come home?" My parents responded that they would ask why we want to come home later and then tell them they can come home later at a certain time but no later than the extended time. This fits exactly with the authoritative parenting style because my parents would extend the time which is being flexible and then also they would enforce a new time for us to come home which shows authority. Next I asked my parents, "what would you do if one of my siblings or I got in trouble at school?" My parents said they would have a talk with whoever got in trouble and make sure they know not to ever do it again. Also, my parents said they would discipline whoever got in trouble by doing more chores or taking away their phone for a day. This fits with the authoritative parenting style as well because my parents are making us understand what we did wrong and learn from it. They would also give a consequence because of it but nothing that is too harsh because they trust us to learn from what we did. After that, I asked my parents, "what would your reaction be if I did not do my chores at the house?" ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Learning Styles And The Learning According to the researchers, the experiential learning is the best way to teach the students. They said that the knowledge process is made with the help of transformation and the series of experiences (Peter, 2010). Later on, the researchers showed that the learning styles is the collection of the characteristics, the ways of gathering information, organizing information and thinking about the information. It is an examined fact that the people's learning style includes all the things they know, acts they do, facts they believe in and the way they perceive information (Hayward Andres, 2015). The studies show that all the types of people have their own learning styles and their types of getting information is also different from each ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the other hand, some learning styles and techniques help the students to target on the weak areas in which they need recovery and improvements. The cycle of learning helps the student nurse to adopt new skills and get information about the latest products and the information. The learning process contains 4 important steps. These steps are the identifications of the needs, the requirements of learning, the design of the learning, delivery of the learning courses and programs and the learning evaluation. First of all, the identification of the needs for the learning process is very important for the student nurses. Why do they need to study? What is their main aim to get education? What is the purpose of the study and many other important questions are considered under this point. On the basis of the need identification, the further process continuous. The next point is the consideration of the learning requirements. These requirements should include all the important things that are required things that are used in the learning process (Velma Lee, 2011). For an example, the student nurse should use the audio and visual aid to get the information. Nowadays, with the advancement of the technology, people also refer different applications to the student nurses to get information. All these are the requirements of learning process for the student nurses. Generally the design of learning is decided by the teachers ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Management Style As you may know, different management styles are required in different parts of the world. It is important to choose the right management style for each situation, which is a key to success for an organization. All managers use a management process which consists of planning, organizing, leading and controlling. So they have to perform many roles in an enterprise. What they can do with various situations will totally depend on their style of management. A management style is an overall method of leadership used by a manager (Lessem et al, 1999). This essay will first demonstrate different types of management styles, and then discuss three key factors that can influence management style, with reference to Japan and America. Each of the ... The reason is that this sense of collective responsibility has positively affected the quality standards. Product quality is cooperatively achieved by workers and managers. Japanese tend to believe the group is more important than the individual (Alston, 1986). In terms of decision–making, they probably attempt to gain consensus even if it might require more time. As to Americans, who are almost self–centered, they apparently choose to make quick decisions on their own for immediate resolution (Anderson, 2009). The second factor is staff belonging. The general principle of Japanese management is that workers form a family (Alston, 1986). As a part of the corporate 'family', every member not only pays attention to their own salaries, but also considers the development of the company. Pay is only one reward. There is also a sense of belongingness and support that employees receive from their corporations. On the contrary, Americans tend to indicate that there is no need for them to become familiar with one organization and colleagues before they are off again on their trips (Wellens, 1980). Perhaps individual freedom is more essential than staff belonging in their mind. This different attitude leads to diverse management styles. One consequence for Japanese is the practice of lifetime employment. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Closing cycles, shutting doors, ending chapters – whatever name we give it, what matters is to leave in the past the moments of life that have finished. Did you lose your job? Has a loving relationship come to an end? Did you leave your parents' house? Gone to live abroad? Has a long–lasting friendship ended all of a sudden? You can spend a long time wondering why this has happened. You can tell yourself you won't take another step until you find out why certain things that were so important and so solid in your life have turned into dust, just like that. But such an attitude will be awfully stressing for everyone involved: your parents, your husband or wife, your friends, your children, your sister. Everyone is finishing chapters, turning over new leaves, getting on with life, and they will all feel bad seeing you at a standstill. Things pass, and the best we can do is to let them really go away. That is why it is so important (however painful it may be!) to destroy souvenirs, move, give lots of things away to orphanages, sell or donate the books you have at home. Everything in this visible world is a manifestation of the invisible world, of what is going on in our hearts – and getting rid of certain memories also means making some room for other memories to take their place. Vark Learning Styles: Read/Write Learning Style VARK Learning styles: Read/write learning style Name: Institution: VARK Learning styles: Read/write learning style Overview of the read/write learning style The read/write learning style mainly makes the use of printed words to receive and convey learning information. Using the style enables one skill to become the input of another through the transfer of the ability to read to that of writing. The skills transfer is integral in raising the awareness of how the structural components involved in learning are shared in both reading and writing modalities (VARK, 2016). Through junior high, my parents were very strict about what I did. In my home we had security and cameras. My parents didn't like many of the people that came over to our home. There were times my parents let me go out and have fun but I had to have my homework done. I wasn't antisocial in school but withdrawn. • 8. The Value of Learning Styles The Value of Learning Styles Learning styles and their value have been debated for some time. Students may have a preferred style but this doesn't mean that educators should use just one form to accommodate an individual's style. Using a multitude of styles will keep a student's interest and will ensure a more solid understanding of the information presented. Many researchers believe that everyone has a preferred learning style and have developed a list of questions and if answered truthfully, are designed to indicate what preferred style the learner has. The basic learning styles are auditory, visual and kinesthetic. The auditory learners prefer information presented in a lecture format; Visual learners will do best with images or ... With all of these varying ideas on how to categorize students way of learning it becomes difficult to know how to best accomplish teaching for a group of different learners. While it would seem that students benefit from learning in their preferred style or type the reality is that there may be more to this. The unfortunate truth is the studies that investigate teaching to the student's style are for the most part flawed. The few that are not flawed show no benefit to teaching to the student's style. (Guterl, S., 2013, p.2). Cognitive ability and the subject being taught may play more of a role in the student's ability to learn and retain. The idea to cater to students strengths seems counter productive. If a student struggles with visual learning, it may be advantageous to develop that shortcoming. The goal of any education program is to leave with more knowledge. The idea of stretching the abilities of students will only benefit them in the end. When a child is very little and unable to walk we don't discourage them from developing the strength and coordination to walk, even though there are other ways of moving around. We know that in time they will learn to walk and eventually run. We encourage them to stretch their abilities and by that develop more abilities. The same could be said of learning styles; by a student learning in a style that is less desirable they are developing a new strength. Another way to look at learning styles is the ... • 9. Authoritarian Styles Of Parenting Styles Tyler who's now 5 was told to pick up his toys before dinner, he has not done so and is throwing a tantrum because he said it too much work. An Authoritarian style parent would yell at Tyler making him pick up the toys by himself. If Tyler persisted his tantrum a spanking would ensue and Tyler would still have to pick up the toys. Grounding would be the next step with more yelling for not doing what he told when he is told to do so. Authoritarian style parents believe in bending the will of the child to that of the authority that including church, teacher, or parent. An example of an authoritarian parent is a military family, because of the external standard set by the military on the parent serving they often bring that same structure and discipline home with them by setting the same or similar standards at home. • 10. Edgar Allan Poe Writing Style Edgar Allan Poe's life was filled with tragedy, everybody he really loved died of tuberculosis or left him. He constantly was rejected in his life and really never found someone who truly understood him. Poe's mother died when he was three and his father left him, So Poe had some traumatic experiences at a young age. Poe and his sister were later adopted by the Allen family and moved to England. Poe later joined the military and started to write. Later he married his thirteen year old cousin who died of tuberculosis. He then went on to marry two more women, but one left him and he died on his last wife. Poe's life was constantly filled with death and disappointment which explains his vivid style of writing. His traumatic life is explained through his dark writing, and the way he explains the story. Poe's vivid writing style is constantly shown through his unique literary techniques. One literary device Poe uses to show his vivid style is imagery. In Poe's short story "The Cask of Amontillado", he describes the antagonist (Fortunato) as he greets him, "He accosted me with excessive warmth, for he had been drinking too much."(234) Since Poe's writing is so vivid in the detail, the imagery in this quote can almost make the reader feel how Fortunato is greeting him. Be able to understand assumptions about human nature and managerial behaviour. 1.1 Identify models which make suppositions about human nature and behaviour at work Theory X and Theory Y represent two sets of assumptions about human nature and human behaviour that are relevant to the practice of management. They describe two contrasting models of workforce motivation. The average human being does not inherently dislike work. 2. Employees will exercise self–direction and self–control if they are committed to objectives. External control and the threat of punishment are not the only means to make employees to work towards objectives. 3. Commitment to objectives is a function of the rewards associated with their achievement. 4. The average human being seeks responsibility because it allows them to satisfy higher–level needs. 7. • 13. The Autocratic Management Style As A Non Effective Style The Autocratic Management style is not hard to distinguish in the workplace. Opinions are kept to themselves concerning the firm's approach to cases, and all employees know what they are expected to do and not do. In this management style only one attorney is in charge and he or she resolves all issues. This type of management style can be thought of as more of a dictatorship. They can be found in small–scale offices and there is only one attorney proprietor. The staff is never in doubt about their position in the firm. It is always understood what your duties are for the day and no unprofessionalism will be tolerated. Sometimes the messenger can suffer for being the bearer of bad news. This style is obviously a more popular with managers. Their thought process is, that this style is necessary in order to have complete control of the practice in order to keep the work production flowing. The Democratic Management style is considered to be a non–effective style. According to Everett– Nollkamper, there are two types of democratic management styles, they are: "(1) all attorneys have management responsibility, or (2) only owners have management responsibility. The democratic management style is one of the more popular forms of management in most large corporations in today's business market" (Everett–Nollkamper, 2014). • 15. The Literary Style Of Edgar Allan Poe No two authors are ever identical, they craft their stories precisely while mixing in their own style to differentiate them from the others and allow them to stand out. Many respected authors use literary devices to make the work their own. For instance, well renown author Edgar Allan Poe has a style that is famous for its unusual usage of the many literary devices to contribute to his Gothic writings. Poe's style is bound together with what we see in most of his work such as using diction to create allegories and allusions, using mood to create suspense, and symbolism to create a meaning deeper than what our eyes see. To demonstrate an idea through words on a paper takes a skillful writer, but to use those words to make the story a whole new idea than what is written, the writer must have a style that is different and flexible such as Poe's. Poe takes a contrastive path with diction in almost all of his works. Each word he uses is part of an overall view, such as in the story "The Raven", Poe uses vivid verbs and rare words to convey an idea that everything he has written about is an allegory to the memories of Lenore. Also, one of his other works uses his word choice to relate the narrator to the Book of Revelations. Poe uses the sentence "And then my vision fell upon the seven tall candles upon the table.", he uses this set of words to relate the man in the black robes to the Judgement of Man in the Book of Revelations (Pit 1). Poe uses all the help he can get from his words to compose something that stands out from other published authors. His usage of allegories and allusions make his stories authentic. Mood plays an enormous part in a narrative writing. It gives you a feel of the story and what the author is trying to convey. Poe uses mood to make you feel what the narrator is feeling. Such as in "The Pit and the Pendulum", Poe uses repetition and imagery to create the mood of the story for us to feel as if we were in the narrator's shoes. In most of Poe's works he uses mood and centers the whole story around it to appeal to the audience. In "Cask of Amontillado" the narrator and Fortunato go down to the catacombs of his ancestors. While getting lower into the catacombs, Poe starts to use the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. Learning Styles : A Learning Style Assessment A learning style is a term used to describe the ways in which people gather, interpret, and store information. Each style can be broken down into a category based on sensory needs: auditory, visual, and tactile. The presumption is that you will best retain the information presented to you if the conditions of your learning style meet. Based on the idea that learning styles exist, I consider myself a visual learner. I prefer to write instructions and keep my thoughts organized. I generate ideas based on reading examples or watching instructional videos. As a child, my preferences were lined primarily with auditory learning. I could easily remember things that spoken to me. As our personalities develop and environment changes, so do our learning styles. A learning style assessment is a good way to gather information about your primary learning style. A series of questions are asked to determine your sensory preferences. Our learning environment can play a role in how well we will retain the information given to us. We may use different learning styles based on the situation. A learning style assessment offers a variety of scenarios to assess the way you learn most of the time. The questions vary from the type of books you enjoy to what you do while you wait in line at a store checkout. According to the assessment, my learning style is 40% Auditory, 35% Visual, and 25% Tactile. As a primarily auditory learner, "you learn best by hearing and listening" as well as "hum or talk ... This situation can be explained by Chinese mood. Wang (2010) indicated that the cultural background, policy and economic conditions of the country have suffered Chinese managers to confuse the existed management styles, which requires a new way to get accustomed to modern market. Moreover, some internal and external factors should be considered between Chinese style and western style. Paternalism style is used widely in Chinese state–owned company. Firstly, the influence of management style in China is competition. Obviously, as a most potential international market, more and more western companies enter the local market, like Wal–Mart. The external retail companies including Hong Kong companies have possessed almost retail market in China. In this circumstance, small–sized private company cannot compete with magnates; only the state–owned enterprise can rely on the policy to rival magnates in this area. The reason is that western large– scale companies have developed over many years; some of them have even existed for many centuries, such as Mercedes–Benz. It has long history, 110 years, in the automotive industry, and has a mature management style and company culture. Culture is also a factor that has an effect on the type of parenting skills towards their children. Diana Baumrind acknowledged three parenting styles, along with a fourth that was incorporated later. The first style of caregiving is Authoritarian. In authoritarian parenting, it does not matter what the child say, what the parent says is final. If the child does not corporate, strict punishment is delivered. In a better understanding, parents set down clear rules and hold high standards [1]. They do not expect their children to propose opinions, or talk about emotions. I had a harder time pulling the grades she wanted. Every year was different. My freshmen year was a 3.0, sophomore year was 3.2 and so on. I was only able to pull 3.2s, which was frustrating to me, but my mother still accepted it as long as I did not get anything lower than a 3.0. However, I also was a huge liar throughout my life. • 21. Parenting Styles PARENTING STYLES: EAST OR WEST? Name School Parenting Styles: East or West? Parenthood is a privilege but is also a great responsibility. Parents wish there was a manual that came along with children when they were born; however, that is not the case and parents can only do their best in different situations. How parents act in child rearing is called parenting styles, and geographically speaking there is a wide variety of styles practiced. The most controversial styles are the ones adopted by the eastern and the western cultures in the world. While parenting for Chinese is like a dictatorship aimed to succeed, parenting for Americans is more about providing children a happy childhood because it is one of the most important and memorable times of life. Amy Chua believes that children's self–esteem should not be a factor to influence parenting methods; instead it can be used "against" children to help them be more motivated. She believes that Chinese children are eternally indebted to their parents and that this attitude makes Chinese parenting better. Finally, she believes that no matter what the children want, it is the parent who knows what is best for them. In contrast, Hanna Rosin believes that children's self–esteem is important, and they should be treated in a gentle way. She believes that strict parenting doesn't necessarily mean better, happy or grateful children. Finally, she believes that children should be entitled to decide what they want in their lives. I eventually became very good at it; but 2–3 hours of daily exercise and boxing in the ring soon became tedious and was no longer fun. In her article, Chua says "what Chinese parents understand is that nothing is fun until you're good at it." Unlike Chua's children, who learned to enjoy the violin and piano as their skills increased, I did not; I learned to hate the entire sport of boxing, and to this day will not even watch it. My father used combination of authoritarian, authoritative, and sometimes uninvolved parenting styles. (Hogan and Haskell, 2). Most of today's kids have one of the following types of parents: Indulgent, Authoritative, Neglectful, Authoritarian*. These are generally regarded as the four main types of parenting. These four styles of parenting are the stereotypical parenting styles most people identify one or both of their parents as. Indulgent parents tend to coddle their children and protect them from disappointment. Authoritative parents are people who have reasonable demands and rules usually met by children who respond well and listen to them. • 39. Parenting Style Ginny Bouphasok Diana Refsell Developmental Psychology 10/2/12 I think so many factors influence parenting. I would like to start this off with one of the most important factors I think that influence parenting, and that is having a child unplanned and not being ready for it versus planning for a child and being ready for it. I am a little old fashioned when it comes to certain things and especially when I think of how I would raise my child. I do not have one, and I am a lesbian. I am not sure when I will have one, but I want to with a potential partner, hopefully she can carry or we can adopt as well. When I say I am a little old fashioned I guess I am referring to how I would raise my child. When I see the way my friends act ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It's the parent's job to stay on top of things like that, so the children don't end up watching anything bad. I also think some children play electronics too much, there is nothing wrong with them playing it by all means, but I think some parents stick them on it so they don't have to deal with them. Another big issue is many parents get mad at their children because when it's during the school season, some young children don't like to do homework. When I was younger my dad taught me my alphabets, math, emergency numbers, and address at a very young age. My dad always bought me coloring books, pencils, and papers to keep me busy. We had a Nintendo system, but I barely used it. Even though my parents didn't speak English or learn the things I did in school they would still try their best to help me or find me help. People cannot expect for their children to love studying and working with school materials if you don't support them and work with them. When I have my child, I plan to paint and color with them all the time. It's so important to be active with children especially when they are young and their brains are developing. Communication and patience is the key with children. Also the right amount of emotion and love is very important. I know raising children is not easy that's why it's not meant for everyone. And planning ahead I think makes a huge difference. My friends tell me when I talk about what I would do with my kid they tell me ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the course book, it defines attachment as the establishment of a close emotional relationship between parent and child (Zimbardo, Johnson, and McCann, 2014, p.274). The parenting style my parents used was the authoritative style. My parents were warm and sensitive to my needs and interests. Growing up they made reasonable demands, explained the rules and when needed enforced those rules. Yes, my parents have high expectations for me; however, it is because they want the best for me. Authoritarian parents tend to have the "I have complete dominance over you" thinking. Permissive parents are, the more laid back parents who do not long to upset their children. The parents who have high standards, but provide their children with the resources they need to succeed are the authoritative parents. Authoritarian parents often do not express much love, and do not provide their children's choices. They have strict rules, and their punishments go without an explanation.
