Coming Out Of High School I Had A Few Majors In Mind. I
Coming out of high school I had a few majors in mind. I was thinking of majoring in Criminal Justice, Business Law, or Physical Therapy, but being
good with numbers and math naturally coming to me I decided to pursue accounting while attending Kennesaw State. Accounting is the action or
process of keeping financial accounts. With this major I will learn how to balance my assets and liabilities. The basic formula you need to know
when studying Accounting is assets equal liabilities plus owner's equity. Accountants prepare and examine financial records making sure they are
accurate, their primary job is making sure taxes are paid on time. Growing up I had no idea what I wanted to be when I got older, but not knowing did

Auditors intensely study the records and reports of a business. Auditors help ensure enterprises are running efficiently by ensuring records are accurate,
also make sure taxes are paid on time. If you are a dirty business or have bad accounting books then an auditor will not be your friend. Forensic
accountants often use their auditing and investigation skills to assist the court with cases. Forensic accountants deal with white–collar crimes such as
securities fraud, embezzlement and bankruptcies. A lot of the times forensic accountants will be working on cases like the Ponzi scheme Bernie
Madoff pulled off. A Ponzi scheme is where other investors pay returns on someone's investment. A public accountant either works for an accounting
firm or has his or her own private business. A public accountant would be the person you would go get your taxes done by. Auditing, tax and financial
planning, and consulting and providing advice about compensation and benefits all fall under the job description of a public accountant. In order to
become a public accountant you need to pass the Uniform Certified Public Examination, once you do this you receive you become a Certified Public
Accountant (CPA). In order to ensure the protection of the public's interest, the Uniform CPA Examination was put in place to screen upcoming CPA's.

Accounting as a Professional School Essay
Accounting professionals are in very high demand. The nature of work in accounting is so vast an individual would have so many different areas of
accounting to choose from. Accounting requires people who can work with complex business structures, computer systems, and financial analysis
packages. Accounting work further requires an aptitude for mathematics and the ability to compare and analyze accounting data quickly. Accountants
also need to have strong communication skills as they must effectively communicate accounting data to their employers and/or clients. The accounting
profession also demands a high level of integrity and morality because the financial data prepared by accountants is used by business managers to run

Following the undergraduate degree, an accounting student would choose an exclusive area to specialize in and work towards a completion of an
additional year in university to finalize the 150 credit hours required in accounting to be eligible to sit for the Certified Public Accounting board
exam. The 150 credit hours are needed to obtain the required body of knowledge and to develop the skills and abilities needed to be a successful
CPA. After the theory portion of the educational experience is completed, the most important aspect becomes practical experience. Practical
experience is what drives the market. The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants requires that either a one tier or two tier systems is
required to obtain the CPA designation. This requires that relevant work experience is needed to become certified. This hands on experience helps to
position a potential certified public accountant for a long and successful career. This professional curriculum is very detailed and requires a lot of
individual steps entailed to reach the point of designation. If it were made into a professional school these segregated steps combined together would
not only help to make things simpler, but it would allow the accounting profession to be similar to the curriculums of medicine, pharmacy and law.

Accounting Methods Used By Ancient Egyptians For Inventory...
Accountants are trusted and respected all around the world. After all, this profession has been around for many years; there is proof that accounting
methods were used by ancient Egyptians for inventory purposes. The accounting profession has many certifications; one of them is Certified Public
Accountant, also known by its acronym, CPA. By far, the one with the most advantages is CPA because it is required by almost any accounting firm,
provides mobility across the industry, and provides better economic remuneration. Acquiring the certification is not easy; the CPA examination is
known to be difficult and challenging, having four parts and a passing rate of only 50 percent. It also requires continuing education since there are
constant changes in laws. Once the certification is acquired, the rewards are greater than the sacrifice. CPAs are currently in high demand, and that is
only increasing every year; this is great for job opportunities and for remuneration. Accountants have always had good salaries, but being in high
demand increases the chances of having even better salaries. Before, CPAs were thought of as bookkeepers and tax makers, but now they are much
more than that. Companies don't make business decisions before consulting with their accountants, after all, no one knows the economic situation of a
company better than the accountant.

Career As A Certified Public Accountant
As the accounting profession continued to grow throughout the state of Texas, the Texas State Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA)
formed the central chapter in 1911, composed of a group of "17 public accountants and six junior staff accountants." After several years of the TSCPA
requesting a regulatory board for the accounting profession, the state legislature approved the Public Accountancy Act of 1915. According to this act, a
candidate wishing to pursue a career as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) would be required to pass the board–certified examination and receive a
certificate "indicative of the holder's fitness to serve the public as a competent and properly qualified accountant in public practice, and to prevent those
who have no such certificate from using such titles or initials." Throughout the years, the Act was amended several times to accommodate for the
ever–changing society and economy, and to take advancements in technology into consideration. As a result of technological advancements, an
increasing number of colleges and universities offer online programs for students who cannot find the time in their hectic schedules for a traditional
classroom setting, which is highly beneficial for people to obtain a degree while continuing to work or pursue other interests. However, online
accounting programs may have a negative impact upon students wishing to earn an accounting degree with the hopes of passing the CPA exam and

individual looking to become a certified public accountant. The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Michigan Association of

for an individual to as high as $445 for a partner in a firm or as a sole practitioner ("American Institute of CPA's,"n.d.).
The Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, MICPA, is similar to the AICPA, but more at the individualized state level. The MICPA is
there to provide services to all accountants within the state of Michigan and addresses questions and concerns regarding the accounting profession. The
MICPA offers support to all members by providing a useful place to track your continued professional education and similar to the AICPA advocates

Membership in the MICPA also garners significant benefits. The organization provides connections to experts in the industry, including those with

suspension or disbarment from practice before the Internal Revenue Service may practice before the Internal Revenue Service by filing with the
Internal Revenue Service a written declaration that the certified public accountant is currently qualified as a certified public accountant and is
authorized to represent the party or parties."
If a California certified public accountant is licensed, but does not have a Social Security number and the Return Preparer Office does not provide
the CPA with a PTIN number. There is a conflict between the IRS and RPO policies. It is ironic that a CPA can represent a person before the Internal
Revenue Service, but can not prepare income taxes for not having a PTIN number. This is a conflict created by the Register Preparer Office because a
Social Security number is not a requirement.

Ethics Standards And The Field Of Accounting
Professional ethics are an absolute necessity in the field of accounting. Businesses rely on accountants to accurately report their financial information
and give sound advise and consultation in regards to their business. There are standards and rules set in place to ensure that ethics and information is
reported accurately. Laws and repercussions are created place to deter unethical and illegal accounting practices, although it still occurs in the
business world on many levels. The field of accounting has a code of ethics for very important reasons. Investors and creditors need assurance that the
financials of the company they are investing in are accurate. If the financials of a company are not created accurately or if the information is falsified
and inaccurate, investors and creditors have the potential to lose lots of money. Ethics standards and controls have increased in more recent years due
to a number of scandals between large corporations. Enron is one of the most known examples, as many investors lost enormous amounts of money and
life savings due to embezzlement and falsifications from the company and the accountants handling the financials. Accountants in each state must
register with the state boards in order to legally practice in that state. These boards relay ethical standards that certified accountants are expected to
adhere. An accountant's license can be suspended if the codes of ethics are violated. One of the main controls set in place to

Statement Of High School Accounting

Women's Roles In Accounting During The Antebellum Era
For many years, women had been subject of increased gender inequality, including restricted access to employment opportunities. However, during the
antebellum era, several important changes were introduced to address the rights and roles of women in the society. For about two centuries now, the
number of women entering the accounting profession has almost doubled. In the year 1977, females made up 28% of all graduating accounting majors.
According to a recent American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) survey, there were more female graduates than male, approximately
52% vs 48%. More so, the gender breakdown of new accounting graduates hired by public accounting firms was 54% male and 46% female (Fisher,

The Accounting Field Of Public Accounting
To go into the accounting field, you must first go to college and obtain either an associate's or a bachelor's degree in accounting. Though, most people
get their bachelor's degree. While some people finish their course of studying after just four years, others continue studying up to 150 credits to qualify
for certification to become a CPA or otherwise known asCertified Public Accountant. But to become a licensed CPA, one must pass a very rigorous
exam which consists of four different sections. The four parts are: Audit and Attestation; Financial Accounting and Reporting; Regulation; and Business
Environment and Concepts. Each part is taken once at a time as they are very long, but once you pass a section, you must pass the other three within a
period of 18 months. With a license of a CPA, one can easily get into the field of public accounting. But what exactly does public accounting mean?

The Career Fields Of Accounting
Many students eventually come to a point in their collegiate career that they must decide what path to pursue in their professional careers. For the
majority of accounting students, this could not be more challenging since there are such a large variety of career paths to choose from. To further
complicate this decision making process, many of the career fields in accounting mandate the individual to obtain certain field related certifications that
are essential to that particular field of study. Examples of these certifications are as follows: Certified Financial Manager (CFM), Certificated Public
Accountant (CPA), and Certified Management Accountant (CMA). These accounting certifications can sometime prove to be incredibly difficult to
obtain.
The majority of the available certifications required exam preparation, fees to be paid, background checks, character references, and the exam itself.
Once an individual passes the exam and obtains the other required credentials, he or she must be able to maintain their certification. In most instances
accountants usually must seek continuing professional education (CPE) classes and pay membership dues annually in order to maintain these
certifications. We will examine some of these previously mentioned certifications and others in the follow text. In addition, we will compare the
similarities and differences of these certifications in order to assist UHD graduates in this complicated decision.

Public Accountants' Perceived Educational Needs Related to International Financial Reporting Standards" (IFRS). Beginning with the author's strategy,
the learner identifies the theoretical framework and research methodology followed by an explanation of the work's organizational layout. The next

For the presentation of the literature review, the author used a logical methodology by first explaining the study's purpose, search strategy, and the
basis for the theoretical framework. Delving into the historical literature, the author focused on agency theory, the principal–professional relationship,
early IFRS research, and the rationale behind IFRS' CPE for the Certified Professional Accountant (CPA). Switching gears to current literature, the
author again focused on the principal–professional relationship and CPE rationale, and ended the section with a review of IFRS', its status in the United
States, and results from other adopting IFRS in other countries. The author summarized the literature review emphasizing the need for IFRS' CPE as a
responsibility of accountants under the principal–professional relationship through motivation by the professional (accountants) and the profession
(accounting agencies).
Limitations, Implications, and Recommendations This section highlights an author–identified limitation, implication, and recommendation for this and
future IFRS' CPE research. While the author found studies conducted at the profession and country levels, studies at the professional level only existed
in Bahrain with this work adding to the literature as a

The International Financial Reporting Standards
This report aims to provide the executive directors and senior level management, of Fujitsu with a condensed insight into the potential use of the
International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), as a substitute method of "corporate disclosure to its' current reporting standards (GAAP)",
(American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, 2014). This report will analyse the primary benefits and limitations of adopting the IFRS as one
of many accounting standards, thus ultimately aiming to provide a convincing recommendation as to its' adoption and future application in Fujitsus'
operations and methods of financial reporting, (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, 2014).

Thus allowing easier comparability between home–based operations and in international financial markets, (Jordan, 2013). Furthermore, Fujitsu has
subsidiaries located globally that may require or permit the use of IFRS and will highly benefit from the use of one method of reporting the standards.
In turn allowing improvements in efficiency of corporate decision–making and optimal allocation of the company's scarce resources, (Hicks, 2012).
Further, the adoption of IFRS will allow Fujitsu to gain global investment opportunities, where "institutional investors increase holdings in firms that
have adopted the IFRS", (Brown, 2010). Investors will be more willing to "provide financing with greater transparency amongst different firms'
financial statements", in saying so, it will allow Fujitsu to increase the accumulation of foreign capital through improving the quality of financial
reporting and allowing greater transparency when recording the financial performance of the corporation, (American Institute of Certified Public
Accountants, 2014). Hence reinforcing that multinational conglomerates are economically advantaged when using only 1 reporting standard,
(Dumont, 2012). In addition the IFRS ensures to provide companies, such as Fujitsu with more "accurate, timely and comprehensive financial
information" as it abides by national reporting standards (Jordan, 2013).

the legal, social, economic and technological aspects of business.
Becoming an accountant requires having the appropriate degree and passing the licensure examination. The educational requirement, as well as the
number of hours in apprenticeship is necessary before one can rightfully be called an accountant. A mere graduate of the profession would not
constitute to automatic nomination into the league or associations of accountant. As an international student, in order to work in the US one must
secure a working permit. This is one of the requirements in working in the US. Usually, if an individual enter the US in a student visa then that
individual is required by law to return to his or her country of origin. However, if an opportunity of employment is opened or extended to this
individual, the employer would fix all the necessary documents to arrange for the individual's working visa and permits.
Although protected by law, discrimination and prejudice still exist in the US and this is one of the identified threats which might deter a person
qualified or otherwise to seek employment from a reputable company. Language barrier is also a problem that is seen as a weakness and a threat at

Aicpa Essay
The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants currently has over 386, 00 members since founded in 1887, under the name American
Association of Public Accountants. The AICPA is integral to rule making and standard setting in the CPA profession, as well as serves as an advocate
before legislative bodies and public interests groups("American Institute of Certified Public Accountants", 2010). In 1934 the New York stock
exchange and the AICPA jointly published the Audits of Corporate Accounts of 1934, but a few short years later in 1938, the SEC voted to forgo this
prerogative and allow the private sector to regulate its accounting practice–a policy that the commission has maintained to date. The AICPA's
Committee on Accounting Procedure (CAP) assumed the financial accounting standard–setting role in 1939. The AICPA shifted this responsibility to
its Accounting Principles Board (APB), equipped with its own research staff, in 1959. Fast forward to 1970, where the APB's main contribution "Basic

strict code of professional ethics, licensing status [Uniform CPA Examination], and a commitment to serving the public interest" (AICPA, 2016). The

Cloud Computing : Certified Public Accountant Firms
Cloud Computing Certified Public Accountant firms are now considering cloud computing as an effective alternative to local networks (Du & Cong,
2010). Local networks are on–site servers with physical equipment that require continual maintenance and updating which can be time consuming
and expensive. As the technology for cloud computing becomes more affordable and access becomes easier to understand, more and more users are
gravitating to this way of business. Cloud storage is well known and accepted, however cloud computing is taking it just one step further, creating a
virtual workspace. Cloud computing differs from just cloud data storage in that cloud computing provides not only storage but the ability for a
company to also manage and process data in the cloud just as though they are working on their personal computer. As with all new technology, there
are risks and rewards that need to be considered before companywide implementation. What is Cloud Computing? Cloud computing can be understood
as a multifaceted infrastructure of hardware, software, storage and processing available to be used as a service. With the use of cloud computing,
without even knowing how it works, one can access a large number of the most sophisticated supercomputers of the world and their respective
processing powers without being overwhelmed with space or information. Cloud computing allows access to computer networks located at various
places in the world and thus offers the speed of

I was thinking of majoring in Criminal Justice, Business Law, or Physical Therapy, but being good with numbers and math naturally coming to me I decided to pursue accounting while attending Kennesaw State. Accounting is the action or process of keeping financial accounts. With this major I will learn how to balance my assets and liabilities. The basic formula you need to know when studying Accounting is assets equal liabilities plus owner's equity. Accountants prepare and examine financial records making sure they are accurate, their primary job is making sure taxes are paid on time. Growing up I had no idea what I wanted to be when I got older, but not knowing did not really hit me... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Following the undergraduate degree, an accounting student would choose an exclusive area to specialize in and work towards a completion of an additional year in university to finalize the 150 credit hours required in accounting to be eligible to sit for the Certified Public Accounting board exam. The 150 credit hours are needed to obtain the required body of knowledge and to develop the skills and abilities needed to be a successful CPA. After the theory portion of the educational experience is completed, the most important aspect becomes practical experience. Practical experience is what drives the market. The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants requires that either a one tier or two tier systems is required to obtain the CPA designation. After all, this profession has been around for many years; there is proof that accounting methods were used by ancient Egyptians for inventory purposes. The accounting profession has many certifications; one of them is Certified Public Accountant, also known by its acronym, CPA. By far, the one with the most advantages is CPA because it is required by almost any accounting firm, provides mobility across the industry, and provides better economic remuneration. Acquiring the certification is not easy; the CPA examination is known to be difficult and challenging, having four parts and a passing rate of only 50 percent. It also requires continuing education since there are constant changes in laws. Once the certification is acquired, the rewards are greater than the sacrifice. CPAs are currently in high demand, and that is only increasing every year; this is great for job opportunities and for remuneration. Accountants have always had good salaries, but being in high demand increases the chances of having even better salaries. Before, CPAs were thought of as bookkeepers and tax makers, but now they are much more than that. After several years of the TSCPA requesting a regulatory board for the accounting profession, the state legislature approved the Public Accountancy Act of 1915. According to this act, a candidate wishing to pursue a career as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) would be required to pass the board–certified examination and receive a certificate "indicative of the holder's fitness to serve the public as a competent and properly qualified accountant in public practice, and to prevent those who have no such certificate from using such titles or initials." Throughout the years, the Act was amended several times to accommodate for the ever–changing society and economy, and to take advancements in technology into consideration. As a result of technological advancements, an increasing number of colleges and universities offer online programs for students who cannot find the time in their hectic schedules for a traditional classroom setting, which is highly beneficial for people to obtain a degree while continuing to work or pursue other interests.
