2. TYPES OF CONTRACT
Explain the following types of contracts, including advantages and
disadvantages
Full-time – Full-time employment means that you are paid a monthly salary
for a given amount of hours per month. This salary should be paid
despite public holidays, school activities, and other random class
cancellations.
Part-time – Part-time workers usually do not receive benefits such as health
insurance, sick leave, holiday pay or vacations. When they are not
working, they earn no income, which may prove detrimental during
sudden illnesses or if they need to take a break.

3. Freelance – This is someone who is self- employed. The advantages are
you can work your own hours. Disadvantages if the company goes
bankrupt you could be left with no money, profit or workers
Shift work – Shift work is when a company/business is open 24/7.
Advantages are that they have a 24 hour service. Disadvantages the
electricity/gas bill would be expensive
Permanent – You get paid directly whilst receiving benefits. You ca have a
secure job with in a company. Disadvantages could possibly loose your
job
Temporary – You temporarily work for a company. Advantages you gain
experience. Disadvantages it isn't a secure job

4. Voluntary – When you volunteer at a company. Advantages gain work
experience, Disadvantages you don’t get paid.
Casual - Advantages, usually unskilled and varied; gives free time; meet
lots of different employers and co-workers. Disadvantages need to sit
by the phone each morning; no regular work or pay check
Hourly paid – Getting paid hourly. Advantages hourly wage is that you are
paid for every hour you work, and if you work overtime you get time and
a half. Disadvantages lower pay
Piecework - Disadvantages, Quality control such as supervision will be
needed to check that units are of a minimum standard. Advantages
workers will be motivated to work harder do to get higher pay, hence
producing more units

Job centres & careers advice – People can go here and can to other people
about the skills they have. Advantages is that you are getting the
correct help, but the disadvantages are that there mght not be any jobs
avaible
Local & national press – This is a non-profit company that provides training
for journalists and awaqrd excellence in journalism. Advantages to this
is that people will be awaded for their work. Disadvantage is that it only
specialies in that one sector

6. personal contacts & word of mouth – Help team building, however it might
not work and could make it difficult to work.
Networking - Positive working environment, could divide the company if
some employees don’t agree
Internet – Help people connect all around the world, can be dangerous to a
certain audience
