The document discusses a group presentation by four students - Alexa, Kayleigh, Haben, and Emmanuella. Each student is assigned a color and brings different skills to the group such as organization, creativity, analytical skills, and subject knowledge. Ideas for the documentary include homosexuality, how media portrays youth through different platforms, and documentaries/TV shows that inspired the group, such as Kidulthood and Top Boy. Close-up shots and handheld camera work are discussed in the context of making scenes seem more realistic.

10. PART D
Documentaries/TV dramas that
inspired us
11. Blue
KIDULTHOOD
PLOT: two days in the life of a group of fifteen-year-old teenagers
from a school in West London
What has inspired us?
The characters and their representation (how they are dressed,
behaviour, props they are carrying)
The male characters
Props
Baseball bat and a gun
-gives us a violent imagery of these youths
12. Blue
The Female characters
This female character
is
Playing a bully which
leads
To the victim

This female is bullied to the extent that she
commits suicide
Associating herself around drugs ect This issue of teenage pregnancy
shown in the film
All these pictures Portray young people as irresponsible , focus on youth drug addiction, vandalism, unprotected sex,
as well as many other ‘negative’ issues, this has led some people to view young people in terms of stereotypes

20. Red
The documentary that I analysed was The Devil Made Me Do It.
The documentary is about the murder of a nun by three Italian
schoolgirls in the year 2000, and heavily focuses on what may
have influenced them to commit such a brutal crime; namely,
Satanic influences including the music of metal musician Marilyn
Manson.
21. Red
Close- up Shot
Shows emotion.
Handheld camera work in the wood makes it
seem more realistic, and makes us feel like
we are the girls going into the woods.
Handheld camera shot out of the courts help
us to understand it's real elements, how
frantic it was as a decision was not made and
to help the camera move
22. Red
• This man is being interviewed in his office
• Comfortable
• This image was used to make the audience
dislike Marilyn Manson
• Disturbing Image
23. Does "Thirteen" truthfully represent today's culture?
The film caused controversy upon its release, because it dealt with
topics such as underage sexual behaviour along with drug and alcohol
abuse and self-mutilation.
anti-gang film, yet still represents youths in a bad light.
