3. The DEB institution offers additional lessons and assist students in their everyday and working lives.
4. Some topics are the same for all: i.e. social competence training, raising motivation, key qualifications etc.
5. The rest is being done in groups depending on the individual vocational field.
6. Students receive additional support in managing their everyday tasks (filling in forms, solving conflicts etc.) if needed.

8. Organization and Funding The idea was kicked off by the German employment agency, about 20 years ago. This idea still forms the general framework of the project. At the moment there are 69 apprentices under contract. There are never any vacancies. The employment agency finances the training and coaching in case they consider a person suitable. Education institutes make their bids and the agency decides who will perform the project in a certain year. The students receive “Ausbildungsvergütung” (an apprenticeship pay) directly from the agency which is a customized sum for everyone. The institution charges an attendance fee for every participant, also paid by the agency. Funding is granted for 1-2 years, or how long the measurement lasts for each individual student. 4

![Project Description The project’s aim is to support socially and physically underprivileged and problematic young adults who want to start a vocational training. The idea is to help young adults between 15 and 25, sometimes even younger - especially the disadvantaged ones - to gain better foothold in their vocational education and in society.
