It provides examples of indigenous plant species in different regions of Ecuador, such as mangroves, kapok trees, and scalesia along the coast, and polylepis, cedrela montana, and heliocarpus americanus in the Andes. Indigenous animal species mentioned include the oro parakeet, turquoise-throated puffleg in the coast, and the black-breasted puffleg, violet-throated metaltail, and condor in the Andes.
