2. ABSTRACT
The goal was to build an Electric Vacuum Cleaner and
compare if works better with a 9V Battery and 12V
Battery together. I concluded that the much more
amount of volts could destroy the machine and also
with just a 9V battery the machine works more
effectively and easily. The weight also deals with how it
works The reason ,why less and more volts were added
to compare if with both batteries the machine functions
better. Starting with 10 small pieces of paper absorb by
the vacuum cleaner. The speed was measured and
compared. Materials used to build the vacuum cleaner
,were: Cardboard canister, 2 litre bottle, Plastic pipe
tube, DC Motor, 9V Battery, 9V Battery Clip, Switch,
Cloth, Two Popsicle Sticks, One ,water bottle cap, Red
tape, and Black tape.
4. Vacuum: A space in which the pressure is significantly
lower than atmospheric pressure.
Air Pressure: Pressure exerted by the weight of air
on an object in that air.
Definitions
5. What Happens
• The fan decrease the
pressure inside the hose of
the vacuum, so air
accelerates towards the inlet.
• It also changes the potential
energy of the air to kinetic
energy.
6. • The materials used building the vacuum cleaner were:
• Cardboard canister
• 2 litre Empty Bottle
• Plastic Pipe Tube
• DC Motor
• 9V Battery
• 9V Battery Clip
• Switch
• Cloth
• Two Popsicles Sticks
• One Water bottle cap
• Red Tape
• Black Tape
Procedure
9. The Physics
Venturi Effect:
It’s a special case of Bernoulli’s principle, in
the case of air flow through a tube or pipe
with a constriction in it.The air must speed
up in the restriction, reducing its pressure
and producing a partial vacuum via the
Bernoulli effect.
13. • The first step after building the electric vacuum cleaner was
adding 10 pieces of paper on the side.
• Second step was making the plastic pipe tube absorb the
most small piece of paper.
• Third step was to analyse if the vacuum cleaner absorbs
more small pieces of paper with both 9V Battery and 12V
Battery or just 9V battery alone.
• Fourth step was counting the number of pieces absorb by the
vacuum cleaner 9V Battery and 12V Battery. Also count the
number of small pieces of paper absorb by a 9V battery.
• Fifth step was record the speed.
• Sixth step was to repeat the same procedure again.
Differential speeds but same effectivity. Both of the
experiments were performed in the same place. The
experiment could have been improved if more trials were
performed.
Methods
14. The hypothesis was accurate. The less volts the vacuum
cleaner carries works more effectively and absorbs more
small pieces of paper without affecting the machine. While
with more volts the machine dangers from destroying itself.
Pressure level inside the vacuum cleaner is lower than
pressure of outside. Large battery unbalanced the elect1ic
vacuum. It all depends on the battery.
