Terry Fox was a Canadian athlete who lost his leg to cancer but wanted to raise money for cancer research. He planned a cross-Canada run called the Marathon of Hope to raise a dollar from every Canadian. Despite his own health issues, he ran over 5,000 km across Canada in 143 days before his cancer spread. His efforts raised over $1 million and inspired annual runs in his memory that have now raised over $500 million total for cancer research. Terry Fox is remembered as a hero for his determined and selfless efforts to help others battling cancer.

 A long time ago, everyone could fly around with their wings without having a worry about what’s happening on
the ground. Even everything people used for daily life could fly with them. It’s like there is no gravity. The
butterfly god of flying named Papilio was the watchman of the people meaning that he was the only one that ever
went to the ground to see if there was any danger. No one else could see the ground back up where everyone was
because their own ground was high up and had a thin translucent colour of white to it. If they passed the thin
layer of clouds, they would be sucked into the ground. Papilio had the godly power to fly anywhere. When he goes
down for his daily duties, he noticed a fat lad standing in one spot with binoculars for a couple of days. Soon,
Papilio grew curious of why he was standing there so he went to ask the man. “What is your name and what duty
do you have that makes you stand around for so long?” said Papilio. “My name is Bubba and I have been watching
you for a while. I can’t believe you haven’t noticed me making this potion because I am going to make myself fly
like you! I’m jealous” “No one can fly without my given power. For that, I will never let you achieve the gift of
flight!” said Papilio. The reason why everyone needed permission is because there we’re rare, magic demons that
looked like humans on the ground but they are hard to tell apart. Papilio made the right decision to make him
powerless but that didn’t stop him from doing other things. He was one of those demons. “Good thing I’m am half
done my potion, because now I can make it harm all of you!” Bubba screamed. “I am going to make you and your
friends fall from the sky!” Papilio got sad but he had to stop this. “Even though I am the god of flying, I don’t have
any other power to stop you so I will tell everyone about what will happen. The only way they will not get sucked
into the ground is if I sacrifice myself. When I am not present, humans may never be able to fly again.” Bubba
didn’t care about what would happen so he just continued finishing his magic. Papilio got back to the sky and told
everyone what would happen when the monster would finish his magic. Everyone got nervous and scared and
that’s when Papilio sacrificed himself by giving everyone the power to not get sucked into the ground. The way he
gave he gave his power was by making everyone eat him. When the time came when Bubba activated his magic,
everyone in the sky and their belongings started to fall through their protective cloud barrier and their wings
didn’t work. Only a few survived the fall and one of them fell on bubba and killed him. Soon, the humans evolved
from their wings and because of the butterfly god, they never sunk into the ground. Whenever anyone feels
nervous, the butterfly in your stomach is a reminder of Papilio from when he sacrificed himself.

5.  Introduction: Terry Fox is considered a hero by many Canadians and others around the world. His fight for cancer
was famous because he went out of the way of his own cancer in his leg and ran for donations towards cancer
research. In this paper, you will learn a detailed description about Terry Fox’s life and how he is a famous hero.
 Life before his run: Terrance Stanley also known as Terry Fox was born on July 28, 1958 in Winnipeg and was one
of the millions with cancer. His goal was to become a physical education teacher and his passion was sports. It was
mainly for basketball even though his coaches had said he is better at cross country running. He still got a chance
playing basketball for his varsity team and for wheelchair basketball when he was disabled. He was diagnosed
with a form of cancer called osteosarcoma when he was nineteen. Terry believed that it started to grow when he
crashed his car and hurt his knee a year before. This grew so much that he had to amputate his leg. While going
through his treatment, he saw all of the other patients being treated and they suffered. That’s when he chose to
do something about it.
 The begging of the Marathon of Hope: Terry wanted to raise money after what he saw at the hospital. He planned
to run across Canada and collect a dollar from every Canadian for cancer research. At the time, there were around
twenty-four million people in Canada. Even though he felt intense pain while running, he ran a marathon every
day to give people with cancer a better chance of living. Even after he was diagnosed with another problem called
left ventricular hypertrophy which is a bad if he ran, he still continued without a fear. He had found this out when
he got his medical certificate from his heart specialist. If he didn’t get one, the cancer society wouldn’t agree to
help him with his quest. He started his run in Newfoundland
 The outcome of his quest: Terry’s run had grown so much awareness that he got sponsored by companies to help
him. Every donation to him was all going towards cancer research so he didn’t accept a single dollar for himself.
He got a big van from Ford Motors that his brother drove so he stayed in there when he finished his runs. He did
also stay in some hotels accommodated from Four Seasons hotels. In total, Terry Fox has raised 1.7 million dollars
himself but sadly, he had to end his run in Thunder Bay where it took him 143 days to get too. His cancer spread
wildly and on that day, some fundraisers had a telethon which rose 10.5 million dollars. Now annual runs are held
in memory around every end of September.
 Conclusion: after all Terry has done, you can see that he is a hero as this whole run was non profitable and that it
left a great impression for the future. Because of him, there are memorial runs every year and there is around 500
million dollars going towards cancer research. In the whole run, it was not about himself, but for others.
