Promotional Podcast Analysis
For this weeks discussion and the remainder of the class, I will talking about the promotional
podcast service that I am currently in the start up stages of making. This business is know as DJ
Jekyll and Mz. Hyde Promotional Podcast, and is located in upstate New York. I and my business
partner, DJ Jekyll, wanted to provide a informative service for other like minded individuals and
those simply into music and the entertainment seen. As a young start up business it currently is just
the two of us, offering promotional services for local bands and artists (actually live in person
promoting and distributing), up to date happenings of local and regional events/concerts, new music
release information, and entertainment industry news. All in a fun interactive and engaging

Using BMRI-3
Using BMRI–3, I am able to choose a selection song that will help me to test out how music can
impact workout routines in term of synchronization, timing and efficiency. In order to achieve such
result, I choose songs that are from a wide spectrum of genres such as dance, pop or EDM. This is
an interesting process as despite staying with mostly high tempo song, certain songs give very
different outcomes. Reflecting constantly on the rating system, I expect it can provide me a much
accurate scaling for each song, in the hope of creating an effective playlist. Overall, the playlist
demonstrates a wide range of impact on body during physical activity.

'Light & Sound' is a perfect background music for my warm–up. Having an allegretto tempo,
constant drumbeats and an upbeat melody, the song enables me to rhythmically start the jog. The

Most of the chosen songs, with high rating score, evidentially have a positive impact toward the
routines. Especially, those songs with higher rating in rhythm, beat and tempo categories noticeably
affect the body synchronization and timing throughout the exercise. Those songs provide a higher
level of motivation toward. However, other songs prove that the BMRI–3 rating scale is not always
accurate. Personally, I suggest some additions to the rating system. Specifically, the volume in

Technology and music have always been interlinked. As technology improves ways of recording and
distributing music improves. Over history we have gone from scratchy records to clear and portable
MP3s. New and innovative technology have helped to shape America's culture as a nation.

Before music radio stations broadcasted things such as sermons, sports and the news. Department
stores would also have their own stations and they used them to advertise their merchandise.
In 1926 the Radio Corporation of America (RCA) began the National Broadcasting Network (NBC).
These were groups of stations that worked with local stations to syndicate radio shows. These shows
focused mostly on music and featured several different live performers. The types of music were
diverse and could vary from country to jazz.
The Golden Age of Radio was the time period of 1930– 1955. During this time was the great
depression and radio was a way to listen to music and receive the news for free. It was a cheap way
to have entertainment instead of more expensive ways such as going to a live concert or the movies.
Eventually radio shows and broadcasts about news decreased in popularity. All that was left was

Because these names are so common, if you were to go to any search engine and type these names
in, the site would automatically pop up.
Now of course there is going to be the opposing side to this issue. From the past years, throughout
having Napster, scour, and some other programs; these all were shut down from professional artist
issues. Napster had some issues dealing with giving out artist's music, basically it was done without
contacting them prior. This problem wasn't Napster's fault, but with having lots of money spent in
courts and lawyer fees things finally got tended to. The problem consisted of the artists were mad
that people were able to attain their music without going to store to purchase it (Napster). In the last
year, it is true that the percent of music sales dropped a total of 3%, which is not a complete loss.
The artists believe that having these sites people were going slow down on the music purchasing,
and soon that one day people would almost completely stop. I personally thought that it was a blow
up and the artists should remain calm.
From a recent study it mentioned that a total of 71 % of the people would insist on looking up music
and then after they found what they wanted they would go ahead and purchase the newest CD in

In today's society the only way to become a famous musician is to have good music that fans will
like. One of the ways fans learn about an artist's new songs is through ads. A fan would be watching
TV or listening to music on their smartphone, and an ad might pop up with their favorite artist's new
song. The fan would most likely wonder what is was and download it. Artists should continue to
allow their music to be placed in advertisements because it helps them earn money, and it can help
them get recognized.
First, using ads can help the artist earn more money. Some artists only make U.S. minimum wage

Sometimes fans will feel betrayed when they see their favorite song in a burger commercial and
instead of gaining popularity the artist will actually lose it and get very strong negative feedback.

tell those companies to stop streaming their music, which may increase sales of downloads of an

My name is Stephanie Maharaj, I was born in the town of Jamaica, Queen. Ever since I was a little
girl, music has been around me all my life. I listened to it at home, on the radio, at school, i even

To What Extent Should People Be Prosecuted For Online Piracy
Should people be prosecuted for online piracy? I do think that people should be prosecuted for
online piracy to an extent. I do not think that their should be a harsh punishment for something so
little. But I do think that something should be done because they technically are stealing. Some
people may not even know they are stealing until someone tells them that what they are doing is
illegal. Online piracy is a crime that can be easily prevented.

Music Media In the music media industry, I do not believe in having illegal music. There is no point
in having illegal music. I do not support having illegal music because of the money, illegal music
can cause trouble, and there should just be no more illegal music.
Money can be a problem when it comes to buying music. "Illegal music is free, but legal music cost

Drowned in Sound states that 95% of music downloads in 2008 were illegal. So what do artists
receive for all their hard work? The answer is that they receive close to nothing and their lack of
revenue from music downloads could very well lead to drastic changes in the music industry. Not
