Gas Cars Research Paper
The transportation industry has continued to grow from the first production of the car in the 1990s by
Karl Benz. Since this time there have been an outstanding number of model cars, airplanes, buses,
motorcycles and scooters, and many other transportation vehicles that uses the standard type of fuel,
gasoline. Society as a whole has yet to realize the harmful effects gas powered vehicles have on our
ecosystem. Unfortunately, due to lack of this information, the overwhelming price difference between
the types of transportation, and convenience, this ever–growing problem my never change until it's
too late. There is not a class offered at most high schools that teaches the younger population what
gasoline is doing to the ecosystem. Due to this, many people are seeking to go with the type of cars
that are popular at the time. Unfortunately, there's not much society can do about this problem. So, we

Although electric powered cars would be more beneficial for the economy, the problem that society
faces is the price of these types of cars. An average fuel (gasoline) powered car cost around $15,000,
whereas an electric powered car cost an average of $30,000. Subsequently, most people will purchase
what they can afford and as a result the ecosystem suffers. As well as the cost, the convenience of fuel
(gas) powered cars is far greater than that of electric powered cars. For an electric car people must be
able to find an electric outlet in order to charge the car. Meaning the car must be kept in the garage
for charging. Another disadvantage of electric powered cars is the ability to receive a charge while on
a long trip. When people are traveling far distances, they often need to refuel at a gas station, but with
electric car there are not as many gas stations with the option of recharging a car. Therefore, making
the electric powered car less

Introduction In modern business it is extremely important for companies to have wide variety of
tools, which enable them to analyse their environment and their markets. Most commonly used tools
are PEST analysis, SWOT analysis and Porter's Five Forces. In this case the most appropriate tool is
PEST analysis which can be further extended to PESTEL. Other variations such as SLEPT, PESTLE,
STEEPLE and STEEPLED are also possible. SWOT analysis and Porter's Five Forces require more
specific information about the actual company and its market, but in this case this information is not
available. Brooks et al. (2004), say that PEST acronym stands for Political, Economic, Legal, Social
and Technological environmental ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Political environment assessment prior to entering a new market is therefore outmost important.
Economical Economical factors include economic growth, government spending levels, inflation,
exchange rates, unemployment levels and national and individual income. Manufacturers would
prefer to have politically stable countries, with low inflation rates and steady growth of real GDP.
Inflation is analysed by Daniels and Radebaugh (1998) as an important aspect of economic
environment, because of its influence on interest rates, exchange rates and cost of living. Other
economic indicators have to be monitored and analysed as well. Gillespie (2007) warns about high
interest rates, which can deter investments as capital becomes more expensive. Strong currency can
hurt exports because it raises the price in terms of foreign currency. Positive national income growth
on the other hand will increase demand for firms products. GDP per capita is the indicator which will
compare living standards in different countries. Manufacturer is selling value–for–money scooter,
which means he can compete in any country if there are no barriers to entry or other taxes which will
affect already low profit margins. Developed countries will have free markets for scooter industry

Persuasive Essay About Scooters
For kids nothing delivers like fun–powered scooters epitomize fun. Gas scooters have traditionally
provided this fun factor for kids as well as the standard kick scooter. With the emergence of the green
movement electric scooters have quickly earned their place as a viable option. What is all the hype
about kids electric scooters and are they really what they are cracked up to be? The simple answer is
yes and here are the reasons: Ease of Use – The electric motor allows kids to keep up with adults and
their older siblings. They have the choice to either use their foot or the motor for propulsion. These
scooters also collapse which makes storing them a breeze. Speed – Kids like feeling in control and
free from parental restraint. While the electric scooter will provide that freedom, adults will ... Show

Conserving battery life is simply preserved through foot power and less throttle. Range depends on
three primary factors: battery size, weight of rider and terrain. Safety – Electric scooters do not
require gas which means that your child will not have to deal with unsafe petroleum. These scooters
are also steady on their two wheels they offer stability around turns. As mentioned, electric powered
scooters have varied speeds depending on the scooter, allowing parents to decide what scooter best
suites their child's need. Reliability – As mentioned, the aluminum frame is very rigid and all electric
scooters are backed by a manufacturer warranty. If they are not, I would suggest avoiding that
particular scooter. Not all cheap electric scooters are necessarily poor quality, their price break is
more than likely an increase in the industry. Read more: Toys for Kids – Electric Scooters

The Physics Of Hybrid Bikes
Because space on motorcyclercycles is scarce, there has been little talk of hybrid bikes, which must
add battery, electric motorcycler, and power supply to what is already there. But a project from
Toyota caught my eye because of its compactness. This free–piston linear motorcycler/generator
would power a serial hybrid, which is one driven only by an electric motorcycler but with a
combustion–powered generator to charge its battery. In this case, the bulky conventional pistons–
and–crank engine, clutch, and transmission would be deleted and its space taken by a modest–sized
battery, electric motorcycler, and the log–shaped linear motorcycler/generator. It would not carry the
bulky 200–pound battery of an all–electric bike, as its smaller ... Show more content on

While we wait for improved batteries, the auto industry has turned to hybrids as the practical way to
achieve future fuel–economy levels. tumble microcosm of motorcyclercycle racing, MotorcycleGP
rules the roost with its astronomical budgets and Formula 1–like levels of bespoke engineering. A
Superbike rider's relationship with the electronics that manage a motorcyclercycle's performance
often bounces between love and hate. Ducati's Chaz Davies grew up racing analog two–strokes, and
says electronics have played a considerably bigger role within the last five years. Kawasaki's Tom
Sykes echoes the sentiment. "At the end of the day, there's a fine balance with technology and how it
can be your worst or your best tool," he admits. "It's down to the rider to give that feedback, and
down to the operator as well to manage the rider's comments and what he picks up. The beauty and
excitement of racing for me is developing in every area, and technology is just one of them." As
much as the global stage of World Superbike racing is an extreme amalgam of supremely talented
racers and focused machines, much of its appeal lies in the relative accessibility of the hardware,
which more closely resembles consumer grade superbikes than the exotica on display in
MotorcycleGP.
Ducati Team Manager Ernesto Marinelli says, "You have a transfer from MotorcycleGP to Superbike,
which then transfers to production

Zap Case Study Essay
1. The competition to develop and market electric vehicles has increased during the last year and is
expected to continue to increase. The electric bicycle industry has four major manufacturers and a
large group of small companies. The major manufacturers are Honda, Suzuki, Sanyo and Yamaha.
They mainly sell products to Japan and Europe. The other group of manufacturers is much smaller in
size and sales volume. These manufacturers have products they sell into the U.S., European and Asian
markets.
Porter's five–forces model is a powerful tool for systematically diagnosing the principal competitive
pressures in a market and assessing how strong and important each one is. The electric vehicle

With product innovation, the key to success is capturing the imagination of the customers. Also, with
the rising energy costs facing the world today, governments might require permits or licenses on the
EV industry thus dampening the attractiveness of the market. Before the energy problem, recharging
an EV was cost–efficient, but with this rise in energy prices, a potential alteration of consumer
perception about the cost of owning an EV might occur. In my opinion, these driving forces only
dampen the industry thus allowing only early–movers to be the most likely to survive the competition
of this industry.
<li value="3"> Is the industry attraction? Basing my decision on Porter's five–forces model, I would
have to say that the EV industry in unattractive. This is because anyone can enter into the industry
thus creating too much competition which will drive prices down. This driving of prices downward
will cause new entrants into the business to see no real profit growth. Also, new products' being
created keeps giving consumers new ideas to buy. This also makes it harder for businesses in the EV
industry to find ways to make buyers choose their business. Also, suppliers have strong bargaining
power so industries have a difficult time trying to shop around for the best prices on the parts they
need. However, Zap was an early mover and is a current market leader in

Environmental analysis of Honda Motor: In terms of lawful issue, the company is estimated to hold
on the laws and guidelines of the country where it works. For example, in the majority of countries in
North America and Europe, the working hours are consistent, and the workers are only projected to
work for 8 hours. What is more, employee earnings are considered per hours, hence asking it hard for
the company to maintain wages and salary. In the United Kingdom, employment laws need
companies such as Honda to pay 6.93 EURO per hour as least amount of wages. Consequently, this
extremely affects the sustainability of the corporation operation and profits. Another lawful issue
which influences the operations of Honda in its subsidiaries is the planned policies by overseas
countries. For example, in the U.S, North America and Europe, multinational companies such as
Honda are necessary to make available insurance cover for workers and offer training for expertise
growth. Besides, companies are required by law to establish safety equipments to defend workers.

Particularly, the limitations on the importation of completed motorcycles and high tariff barriers in a
long period contributed to encouraging the formation of domestic motorcycle assembly and
production. Over the past period, there appeared several problems in the motorcycle assembly and
production industry such as the mass, "short–sighted" production, the lack of long term vision, the
low quality of domestic products, the increasing traffic accidents and environmental pollution, the
rampant infringement of intellectual property rights, the infringement of consumers' interests, etc.
Such matters must be continuously regulated to ensure the sustainable development of the industry
and protect the interests of consumers, producers and the country. Particularly in the context of
international integration, when Vietnam has become a member of the WTO and the protection by
tariff barriers is no longer existed, the motorcycle assembly–production enterprises must obey the
common international rules. On the basis of the Strategy for the Development of Vietnam's

The automobile industry is a capital intensive industry, the players in the industry need high capital
expenditure in order to maintain their market position, but the expected returns in the future is quite
high. The industry analysis can be carried out under the following heads:
Life Cycle of the Industry
Porter's five forces analysis

2.2.3 Bargaining Power of Suppliers in automobile industry
The bargaining power of suppliers is low because of the presence of powerful buyers who are able to
direct terms to the suppliers who are generally small firms. Besides these suppliers of tires, parts,
electronic, mechanical equipment are small players and may have only one or two clients
(ancillaries).
2.2.4 Bargaining Power of Customers in automobile industry
With a wide variety of vehicles and manufacturers due to low switching costs, the bargaining power
of customers is very high in the automobile industry. Also foreign brands are selling vehicles in the
Indian markets, adding to the bargaining power of customers in this industry. Thus the value created
by the firm lies in adding differentiating features by innovating and increasing the customer's
willingness to pay while reducing the supplier's opportunity cost.

Electric Kid Scooters Research Paper
An electric kid scooter can make a great present for your child. It is adaptable, lightweight, and not
difficult to use. Before buying your child an electric scooter, though, always think about what
precautions to take.
Should I get my child an electric kid scooter?
Pediatricians have observed that cycling, skateboarding, and riding scooters have caused many
accidents. This is probably one reason why children under 5 are not to use scooters. If your child is 6
to 10 years of age then he or she can ride a scooter with an adult present. If your child is 10 years or
over, then he or she can use a scooter without adult supervision. However, it's still better to command
safety instructions. There are scooters for each age group, so request for information on which
electric kid scooter your child should get.

Just like everyone who rides bikes, skateboards and motorcycles a child needs to wear protective
body gear such as knee and elbow pads as well as a helmet before riding an electric kid scooter.
Always teach your child to wear a helmet the very first time he or she is able to ride a scooter. This
method will help the child get used to wearing protective gear in the future.
Tell your child to avoid leaning forward too much, particularly when making a corner turn. Inclining
forward can make the scooter flip over, regardless if it's a regular or electric scooter. The difference
with an electric scooter does not require you to push the vehicle with your foot.
Finally, warn your child about riding in traffic, bad weather and at night. Traffic poses the danger of
the scooter getting hit by a car, the lack of natural light can affect how you see at night and bad
weather can easily make you slip and fall.
Search the best attributes of an electric kid scooter and use this guideline. With the guideline and
proper use, the electric kid scooter is a perfect present for your

three percent other. Additionally the CIA reports that English is the official language for national,
political, and commercial communication while Hinduism is the primary language spoken with an
additional 14 regional dialects commonly used throughout the country. Figure 3 illustrates India as a

by interstate transportation. Rail systems are also a good and sometimes cheaper way to move a

Comparative folding scooters Folding electric scooters are an excellent solution for people with
reduced mobility and problems with walking. A mobility scooter can be used both indoors and
outdoors and provides the user with an incalculable sense of freedom and independence. Folding
scooters can take you from shops, to a museum, a walk in the park, etc. But most importantly, they
can also be taken with you when you travel (by train, car, boat or plane). Folding scooters or ultra–

If buyers have any questions, they can ask the manufacturer for details. Handling a Folding Scooter
In addition to portability and comfort, one of the advantages of a lightweight scooter is its ease of
maneuvering. The folding scooters have a rudder (handlebar) that rises under steering and braking
controls. The controls are two levers or cams to operate with the thumbs. For example, for backward
driving, actuate the left thumb and for forward driving to activate the right thumb. The amount of
pressure determines the speed, and when the pressure is released, an electronic braking system
automatically triggers the electromagnetic brakes. Maneuverability An electric scooter should not be
judged just because of its speed and the distance it can travel. The best folding electric scooters
should have a small radio that allows the users of the same, to be handled in narrow spaces such as
the aisles of supermarkets or elevators and landings. Scooters must also have sufficient ground
clearance so they can roll on surfaces or objects without damaging the chassis or engine. Lastly, we
must choose scooters with a minimum power that will bring us up slopes of at least 6

Former director of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation, Robert Gladden, stated in 2009 that, "Safety on
the road is everyone's business. Yes, motorcycles can be dangerous as can a car. Any moving vehicle
at any rate of speed can be a danger to its occupant...but they are not danger–prohibitive, meaning
they're not so dangerous one shouldn't ride." Though nine years have passed since that statement,

On the road, motorcyclists receive a special kind of hospitality from other riders– hand waves, head
nods, extended feet– acknowledging they are a part of a select group of like–minded individuals
seeking enlightenment. Marine riders experience an associated friendliness across the world, and a
greater connection to their surroundings. Motorcycling immerses a rider in his or her surroundings,
forcing interaction using all the senses. Part of being a motorcyclist requires a rider to stop worrying
about anything which does not affect the ride. A Marine who rides become less enraged by others'
actions on the road; that rider must constantly try to reach a zen–like state when focusing on speed,
posture, vehicle position, road conditions, hazards, and more. Motorcyclists continually exercise their
brains calculating possible outcomes and meditating only on the skills necessary to operate the
machine and seamlessly integrate with traffic. Practiced regularly, this focus becomes part of a
Marine rider's thought process in all areas of life, in the same manner as repetition of combat

Economical Factors
Brazil is under a currently a significant growth trajectory. What could be considered one of the great
national BRIC powers of the next century, what is hindering Brazil are its poor investments in
education, cumbersome and complex tax structure, unemployment rate and poverty. Currently 80% of
Brazil's population is situated in the urban complexes such as Sao Paulo, Rio and Belo Horizonte.
However, there is a clear and distinct caste system with a very large poor class that is only now being
able to move into the more working–type middle class. This poor class is usually distinguished by the
color of someone's skin and national origins. As such, an undertone of discrimination in ever–present

Zap and Electric Vehicle
1.The competition to develop and market electric vehicles has increased during the last year and is
expected to continue to increase.
The electric vehicle
industry is a definite for applying this technique. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This also makes it harder for businesses in the EV industry to find ways to make buyers choose their
business. Also, suppliers have strong bargaining power so industries have a difficult time trying to
shop around for the best prices on the parts they need. However, Zap was an early mover and is a
current market leader in the industry and with a good strategy can have a profitable future that new
entries find they can't get. Because Zap was an early mover into the EV industry, they have
positioned themselves very high in the marketplace. This is a result of several acquisitions made
including a major acquisition of EV Systems, CA. They also acquired several patents which helped
keep other companies from copying their designs and what they put into their designs. They also
conducted most of their business overseas which helped to save Zap money, which allowed them to
focus on their distribution methods. Also, they are environmental friendly which allows consumers to
look at them when deciding between electric and gas powered vehicles.
Their present strategy is to develop, acquire and commercialize electric vehicles and electric vehicle
propulsion systems that have fundamental, practical and environmental advantages over available
internal combustion modes of transportation, while also having the ability to be produced
commercially on an economically competitive basis. Also, they have positioned themselves as the

INDUSTRY
Classification and definition of the industry
The relevant industry for Smart Car is worldwide automakers because the target audience will be
cost–conscious Americans. In 1999, the American car market was filled with many foreign imports
that directly competed against and in some instances beat American domestic car producers.
Analysis of existing competitors
Today there are other low cost automobile manufacturers marketing to the United States. None,
however, produce anything like SmartCar. The modular/custom design has no known peer in the U.S
at this time. Daimler–Benz owns Chrysler so we can assume that at least one of the big three

The purchaser gets to design his own car from the factory. This is unique and hence there is no other
known car that you can design from the ground up, or at least, you are expected to design from the

in most of today's cars. But other goods might act as substitutes lowering the amount Daimler can
charge for its vehicle. For instance, hybrid vehicles appeal to the environmental conscious person but
presumably have more leg room. The problem is that the price of Hybrids is prohibitive. There does
not seem to be a low cost automobile made today that would be similar. As for other types of
vehicles, a substitution might be the electric Cushman cars, or motor scooters. These however have
important differences: the electric Cushman and motor scooter will only go up to a certain speed. The
Motor scooter will not shield a person from the elements, like rain and snow. The same is true of the

The Evolution of the Motorized Bike Essay
Heart racing and adrenaline pumping, John pushes the throttle on the bike, he goes ten, fifteen,
twenty miles per hour and next thing you know, John is gone. The need for speed has always been in
high demand. Fast cars, fast boats, and the thrill of having the wind blow in your hair is what evolved
a simple bicycle into a heavenly creation. The average speed riding neutral on a course fourteen point
three miles on a bicycle is between fifteen and seventeen miles per hour ("The Average Speed Page").
When riding a motorized bike, the average would be that of twenty five to thirty five miles per hour.
In America motorized bicycles have gained huge notoriety, although motorized bicycles have been
around for over one hundred years. Motorized ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A Motorized bike has to have an internal combustion engine of fifty cc or less, and it can also have an
electric engine. With cars or bikes if engine tells you the amount of cc it has just means it's a shorter
way for saying the real name. CC stands for the cubic centimeter capacity of combustion cylinder,
which denotes the power in the engine, which means the higher the cc the more horse power there is.
Motorized bikes cannot have an engine bigger than fifty cc it also needs to be a four stroke or two
stroke internal combustion engines. If the engine is bigger than fifty cc, it is not classified as a
motorized bicycle. A motorized bike with fifty cc engine can have three to four horse powers which
will make it go around thirty miles per hour maybe more depending on the weight of the rider. The
other form of a motorized bike is called e–bike these bikes have batteries on them to assist with
pedaling (Smeaton). An electric bicycle is a bike with an electric motor powered by a rechargeable
battery and a method of control to either offer totally motorized cycling or a mix of pedal and motor
power (Smeaton). Electric bikes, better known as e–bikes are becoming more popular with the
environmentalists (Lenchner). Electric bikes have become more recognized by people. In 2008
twenty one million e–bikes alone were sold (Smeaton). The prices of these bikes average two
hundred dollars up

General Motors External
Executive Summary The United States has been experiencing a weak economy, which has
dramatically affected sales within the automotive industry. The industry as a whole has been
struggling, but the U.S. companies have had the worst results. Also, the desired product mix has
recently changed to more fuel efficient vehicles instead of large SUV's and trucks (S&P, 2008, p.1).
The following analysis will discuss in detail the external environment of the auto industry and then
transition to examining the internal environment of the U.S. firm, General Motors. GM is a large and
well known domestic auto manufacturer that was the leader in U.S. auto sales for many years and at

Until now, it was hoped that the fallout from the declines in home prices would be contained, first to
the sub–prime market, then to broader real estate–backed assets, and finally the hope was that the
damage could be restricted to just the financial sector. Unfortunately, each of these barriers have been
breached and combined with a broader unraveling of credit markets and a credit crunch. So, we have
seen continued spillovers into other areas of the economy, including the automobile industry (New
York Times). Not too long ago, the auto industry had room for small, independent manufacturers such
as Saab, Jaguar and Volvo. But since the mid to late 1980's the industry's big players have been
buying up their smaller rivals (Forbes.com). The economic downturn, rising oil prices, and the cost of
developing new technologies have made it much harder for new entrants to come into the industry.
Therefore, new entrants do not pose a threat to the existing competitors of the automotive industry
due to the economy and the large capital requirements needed in order to be successful. For example,
at General Motors alone the company must raise an estimated minimum of $15 billion in new capital
to stay competitive within the industry (New York Times). The new capital requirements will mostly
be used to perform research and development. This

Overall this has lead to increased costs on the input side and a fall in customer purchasing power due
unavailability of unlimited finance 25. Net Substantial Effects
Net effects– passenger car makers have been operating below capacity for a while. Recently, Maruti

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India have put off their plans for a second plan

After an investigation by the US International Trade Commission, in 1983 President Reagan imposed
a 45% tariff on imported bikes and bikes over 700 cc engine capacity. The new management
deliberately exploited the past appeal of their big machines, building motorcycles that purposely
adopted the look and feel of their earlier models. Quality increased, technical improvements were
made, and buyers returned. Harley–Davidson once again became the sales leader in the heavyweight
(over 750 cc) market. During its period of peak demand, the company expanded the number of
dealerships throughout the country. At the same time, its current dealers typically had waiting lists
that extended up to a year for some of the most popular models. In August 2009, Harley–Davidson
announced plans to enter the market in India. The company established a subsidiary near Delhi, and
began the process of seeking dealers.[6] The Motorcycle Industry Motorcycles are one of the most
affordable forms of transportation and one of the most common types of motor vehicle. There are
approximately 200 million motorcycles (including mopeds and motor scooters) in use worldwide,

to avoid traffic disruption and accidents. By late 2009 motorcycles are banned or restricted in over

China electric bikes currently come under the same classification as bicycles and hence don't require
a driver's license to operate. Previously it was required that users registered their bike in order to be

of illegal bicycles so that vehicles with an unladen weight of 20 kg or more and a top speed of 30kmh
or more will require a motorcycle license to operate, while vehicles lighter than 20 kg and slower
than 30kmh can be ridden unlicensed. In the southern Chinese cities of Guangzhou, Dongguan and

It might not always be practical to deal with all customers' queries within the space of a few hours,
but at least email or call them back and let them know you've received their message and you'll
contact them about it as soon as possible. Even if you're not able to solve a problem right away, let
the customer know you're working on it. 3. Be Friendly and Approachable A fellow Site Pointer once
told me that you can hear a smile through the phone. This is very true. It's very important to be
friendly, courteous and to make your clients feel like you're their friend and you're there to help them
out. There will be times when you want to beat your clients over the head repeatedly with a blunt
object – it happens to all of us. It's vital that you keep a clear head, respond to your clients' wishes as
best you can, and at all times remain polite and courteous. 4. Have a Clearly–Defined Customer
Service Policy This may not be too important when you're just starting out, but a clearly defined
customer service policy is going to save you a lot of time and effort in the long run. If a customer has
a problem, what should they do? If the first option doesn't work, then what? Should they contact
different people for billing and technical enquiries? If they're not satisfied with any aspect of your
customer service, who should they tell? There's nothing more annoying for a client than being passed
from person to person, or not

Gas Cars Research Paper

  • 1. Gas Cars Research Paper The transportation industry has continued to grow from the first production of the car in the 1990s by Karl Benz. Since this time there have been an outstanding number of model cars, airplanes, buses, motorcycles and scooters, and many other transportation vehicles that uses the standard type of fuel, gasoline. Society as a whole has yet to realize the harmful effects gas powered vehicles have on our ecosystem. Unfortunately, due to lack of this information, the overwhelming price difference between the types of transportation, and convenience, this ever–growing problem my never change until it's too late. There is not a class offered at most high schools that teaches the younger population what gasoline is doing to the ecosystem. Due to this, many people are seeking to go with the type of cars that are popular at the time. Unfortunately, there's not much society can do about this problem. So, we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although electric powered cars would be more beneficial for the economy, the problem that society faces is the price of these types of cars. An average fuel (gasoline) powered car cost around $15,000, whereas an electric powered car cost an average of $30,000. Subsequently, most people will purchase what they can afford and as a result the ecosystem suffers. As well as the cost, the convenience of fuel (gas) powered cars is far greater than that of electric powered cars. For an electric car people must be able to find an electric outlet in order to charge the car. Meaning the car must be kept in the garage for charging. Another disadvantage of electric powered cars is the ability to receive a charge while on a long trip. When people are traveling far distances, they often need to refuel at a gas station, but with electric car there are not as many gas stations with the option of recharging a car. Manufacturers would prefer to have politically stable countries, with low inflation rates and steady growth of real GDP. Inflation is analysed by Daniels and Radebaugh (1998) as an important aspect of economic environment, because of its influence on interest rates, exchange rates and cost of living. Other economic indicators have to be monitored and analysed as well. Gillespie (2007) warns about high interest rates, which can deter investments as capital becomes more expensive. Strong currency can hurt exports because it raises the price in terms of foreign currency. Positive national income growth on the other hand will increase demand for firms products. • 9. Persuasive Essay About Scooters For kids nothing delivers like fun–powered scooters epitomize fun. Gas scooters have traditionally provided this fun factor for kids as well as the standard kick scooter. With the emergence of the green movement electric scooters have quickly earned their place as a viable option. What is all the hype about kids electric scooters and are they really what they are cracked up to be? The simple answer is yes and here are the reasons: Ease of Use – The electric motor allows kids to keep up with adults and their older siblings. They have the choice to either use their foot or the motor for propulsion. These scooters also collapse which makes storing them a breeze. Speed – Kids like feeling in control and free from parental restraint. While the electric scooter will provide that freedom, adults will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Conserving battery life is simply preserved through foot power and less throttle. Range depends on three primary factors: battery size, weight of rider and terrain. Safety – Electric scooters do not require gas which means that your child will not have to deal with unsafe petroleum. These scooters are also steady on their two wheels they offer stability around turns. As mentioned, electric powered scooters have varied speeds depending on the scooter, allowing parents to decide what scooter best suites their child's need. Reliability – As mentioned, the aluminum frame is very rigid and all electric scooters are backed by a manufacturer warranty. If they are not, I would suggest avoiding that particular scooter. The Physics Of Hybrid Bikes Because space on motorcyclercycles is scarce, there has been little talk of hybrid bikes, which must add battery, electric motorcycler, and power supply to what is already there. But a project from Toyota caught my eye because of its compactness. This free–piston linear motorcycler/generator would power a serial hybrid, which is one driven only by an electric motorcycler but with a combustion–powered generator to charge its battery. In this case, the bulky conventional pistons– and–crank engine, clutch, and transmission would be deleted and its space taken by a modest–sized battery, electric motorcycler, and the log–shaped linear motorcycler/generator. Ducati's Chaz Davies grew up racing analog two–strokes, and says electronics have played a considerably bigger role within the last five years. Kawasaki's Tom Sykes echoes the sentiment. "At the end of the day, there's a fine balance with technology and how it can be your worst or your best tool," he admits. The beauty and excitement of racing for me is developing in every area, and technology is just one of them." As much as the global stage of World Superbike racing is an extreme amalgam of supremely talented racers and focused machines, much of its appeal lies in the relative accessibility of the hardware, which more closely resembles consumer grade superbikes than the exotica on display in MotorcycleGP. In 1999, the American car market was filled with many foreign imports that directly competed against and in some instances beat American domestic car producers. Analysis of existing competitors Today there are other low cost automobile manufacturers marketing to the United States. None, however, produce anything like SmartCar. For instance, hybrid vehicles appeal to the environmental conscious person but presumably have more leg room. The problem is that the price of Hybrids is prohibitive. There does not seem to be a low cost automobile made today that would be similar. As for other types of vehicles, a substitution might be the electric Cushman cars, or motor scooters. These however have important differences: the electric Cushman and motor scooter will only go up to a certain speed. The Motor scooter will not shield a person from the elements, like rain and snow. The same is true of the trendy motorcycle. Harley–Davidson have made a fortune in marketing the "hog" to everyday Americans who want to be trendy, sleek, get good gas mileage and buy something customizably unique. Unfortunately, each of these barriers have been breached and combined with a broader unraveling of credit markets and a credit crunch. So, we have seen continued spillovers into other areas of the economy, including the automobile industry (New York Times). Not too long ago, the auto industry had room for small, independent manufacturers such as Saab, Jaguar and Volvo. But since the mid to late 1980's the industry's big players have been buying up their smaller rivals (Forbes.com). The economic downturn, rising oil prices, and the cost of developing new technologies have made it much harder for new entrants to come into the industry. Therefore, new entrants do not pose a threat to the existing competitors of the automotive industry due to the economy and the large capital requirements needed in order to be successful. For example, at General Motors alone the company must raise an estimated minimum of $15 billion in new capital to stay competitive within the industry (New York Times). The new capital requirements will mostly be used to perform research and development. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
