1. Plastering
Plastering on joints (such as beam and brickwork or column and
brickwork) should be done as:-
1. Take 200mm wide chicken mesh according to length of beam and
brickwork.
2. Place the chicken mesh such that 100mm lies on beam and
100mm on brickwork (attach the chicken mesh through the nails
on brickwork)
3. After that put the mortar over the chicken mesh to have smooth
plaster on joints.
4. This is basically done to avoid the cracks in between the RCC and
brickwork.
For plastering over columns hacking is done over it so that the
cement mortar gets easily attached to it.
And for plastering over bricks we should follow as –
1. Generally the plastering thickness is 15mm facing & 10mm
backing.
2. Now make bull points of required thickness on brick wall.
3. The function of bull points is to give plaster of specified
thickness all over the wall.
Now to join a column and a wall column should be hacked
and a cement paste should be applied over the column facing
so the brick should be easily attached to it.
