3. Stretching Bond

1.Stretching bond is the most common used brick bond
for single skin walls (4 inch wall) in Bangladesh
2. It is also termed as “running bond”
3. In this arrangement all the bricks are laid as
strechers
4. It is used for half brick wall only
5. This is commonly adopted in the
construction of half brick thick leaves of
cavity walls , partition walls

4. Zig-zag Bond

1. This is similar to herring-bone
bond
2. In this arrangement,
bricks are laid in zig-zag
fashion
3. This Is commonly
adopted in brick paved
flooring

5. English Bond
1.This bond consist of alternate course of
headers and stretchers
2. In this arrangement , vertical joints in the
header course come over each ather and
vice versa
