Frist Secret: One Minute Goals
Purpose: to make employee know what is their goals for
manager’s expected results
One Minute Goals
• Agree on your goals
• See how good performance looks like
• Set goals in single sheet with less than 250 words
• Read and Re-read the goals, which requires one minute or
while doing anything
• See whether or not your behavior matches the goal
• 80/20 Rule: 80% of your results will come from 20% of your
goal so, One Minute Goal focus on 20%
Second Secret: One Minute Praising
Purpose: to encourage employee to reach their full potential
by catching them doing something right
One Minute Praising
• Power of one minute praising is caring
• Tell people up front that you are going to let them know how they
are doing
• Praise people immediately by telling what they did right- be
specific
• Let them feel how good you feel about them
• Give crystal- clear feedback precisely
• Encourage them to do the same thing again
• People who feel themselves produce good results : make them
feel own
Third Secret: One Minute Re-directs
Purpose: to make people realize their wrong doings and
to affirm them
One Minute Redirects
• Re-direct people as soon as possible
• Share your observation, confirm the fact and review the mistake
together- be specific
• Express how you feel about the mistake and its impact on results
• Allow people time to feel concerned about their jobs
• Let them realize that they can solve their mistakes
• Remind them that you have confidence and trust in them and support
their success
