This document provides a taxonomy and overview of the aye-aye (Daubentonia madagascariensis). It classifies the aye-aye in the mammalian order Primates, suborder Strepsirrhini. The aye-aye is the only living member of the family Daubentoniidae and is endemic to Madagascar.
