• Parties = 189
o Exceptions: Pakistan, India, Israel, North Korea and South Sudan

• Non-proliferation of nuclear arsenal

• Disarmament of nuclear arsenal
o Leaving no or least possible nuclear weapons available to use in future

o Use of civil nuclear technology for the benefit of mankind

international regime and has proved to be
very successful in the global political arena.
