3. Measles
It is a common disease of infants
The patient suffers from cough and fever, but
afterwards small boils appear on his body i.e face
and chest
The boils are light gray in color with red circles
around
The disease gradually diminishes within 10 days
Once it is over, the patient becomes immune to it
for the rest of his life
Now vaccines are used for infants to lower its rate
of occurrence

4. AIDS
This is a fatal viral disease
it stands for “Acquired immunity deficiency syndrome”
It is caused by a virus called HIV (Human immunodeficient virus)
This virus kills the white blood cells of patient as a result immune system is
destroyed
The patient becomes victim to certain other diseases such as TB, typhoid,
pneumonia because of loss of natural resistance
It is mostly spread through blood transfusion, contaminated syringes and direct
contact
Its vaccine in experimental stage

5. HEPATITUS
It is disease of the liver caused by virus
3 types : Hepatitis A, B and C
The virus invades the liver cells and rapidly
destroys them
If immune system of the patient becomes
active, the disease can be controlled
otherwise it is fatal
It is characterized by jaundice, abdominal
pain, liver enlargement, fatigue, loss of
appetite and sometimes fever
