The document discusses potential locations for filming a music video for an indie band. It examines six different locations - a forest pathway, forest field, forest nature reserve, river, skate park, and beach. For each location, it provides photos and notes both the advantages and potential disadvantages of shooting at that location, such as lighting, background colors, and public access. It also lists props, costume ideas, and proposes three actors for the roles of lead singer, guitarist, and extra band member based on their interests and experiences.
2. Location
Forest-
These shots will be used to
show the band walking
together through the tree
surrounded pathway. A long shot
would be conventional to use here.
The perspective of the shot
elongates the scene making the
band stand out against the
background. A potential problem
here would be the lighting as the
trees provide shade which can
produce a dull image.
3. Location
Forest (field backdrop) -
The band can move around this
location easily. The bottom image
shows a higher perspective of the
scene taken from further away, this
allows me to produce a range, of long,
wide and close up camera techniques
of the same scene. A slight
disadvantage to this location is some
of the overgrown plants, however this
could add personality to the scene as
it is conventional for indie videos to
use slightly ruff looking locations.
4. Location
Forest (nature reserve)-
Here are several different
shots of the area around the
location. These areas give
me chances to create
multiple wide and long shots
of the band as there are vast
spaces of land. A
disadvantage of these is that
all the plants are green,
therefore the scene is
lacking any colour which
could make the scene look
plain.
5. Location
River-
This location allows the
shot to draw the viewer in
as it has a central
vanishing point. This shot
is taken from a bridge
which goes over the river.
This shot allows me to get
a balance of the sky and
the ground to display a
central horizon line.
6. Location
Skate park ('The Bowl')-
This location allows me to uses a
variety of high and low angles to
create a range of shots. For
example; the skate scenes and
tricks can be filmed here. A
potential problem is that this is a
public skate park therefore there
will be multiple people there
when we shoot the scenes.
However this could make it look
conventional as a skate park is
meant to be busy, and will also
create less blank space on the
7. Location
The Beach (Hunstanton) -
A variety of scenes will be
shot at this location. For
example the playing football
scene and beach ball, also the
paddle scene and beer bottle
scene. This setting will
provide a contrast to the
country forest scenes. A
potential problem with this
location is that it is being
filmed in October therefore it
will be cold.
