Family Life In Colonial America
According to "http://family.lovetoknow.com" Family life today is somewhat different from the family life back then in the colonial America.
The way of life was mainly determine by wealth. The members of a family who is not wealthy normally live in rural areas, and are responsible for
household chores and small family businesses. As for the families who is rich in wealth, the chores were taken care of by hired servants and the family
business where marshaled by the father.
The life of the children were also affected by wealth. Wealthier children were sent to school or tutored at home to become successful. The son was the
alternative if something should happen to the father and the daughters were groomed with high standard and to choose an ambitious

Personal Narrative Essay : My Family Is My Life
My family is my life
Life becomes more meaningful when you realize the simple life fact that you will never get the same moment twice. I had lived with my parents
until I was 12 years old, but they could not care for me anymore, because they are working in a factory in Juarez for more than six or eight hours a
day. They did not like the idea that my sister and I would stay alone, because my older sister was studying at high school and I was studying at
elementary school. When looking for a good place that we may stay, after days of searching they found Centro Victoria de NiГ±os Vida en Jesus,a
small place but an amazing and comfortable place in Juarez. In this is a place a married couple care for many girls and boys of the same ages as me.
Our parents explained the difficult situation we were going through. They told us that it hurt them a lot to leave us, but that they did not have any more
options. The reality was that we did not have family in Juarez at the time. They told us that they found an amazing place and small place where we
can stay just during the week. All children that have a family can have a chance to go to the home. My sister and I agreed to live there because we
did not want to be alone. The first two weeks were very sad to feel that you no longer live in your house, but in this place, we are learning to be good
people, get a chance to have two incredible families and having opportunities that changed my life.
I loved the way my tutors taught us when we started living in this place. I learned how to behave. My tutors became like my parents. When I was
staying in my house, I knew that I was not a good daughter and I had many bad habits like the way I eat and my sleeping habits. It was obvious
that my parents did not see things as I did, and thus my tutor talked to me about things that I needed it to change. They explained that this it was not
easy, but if I persevere, it will work out as they told me and that people never stop learning. I learned to like other children, to eat, to sleep, to take a
shower at the right time. I also learned trust to myself, and be honest. Also, I learned that if I fall, I can stand up because people learn from their
mistakes. The last but the most important

Family : My Family Is The Roots Of My Life
Family is nothing but important, they are the roots of who you are, and they keep you grounded. No one will ever be around to support the many
successes that you will encounter in life as much as family will be. Of course, family can be more than just blood but the most important bonds
that you share in your life. The everlasting relationship my grandma and I possessed will always be the most wonderful bond I will ever hold.
Growing up with her from time to time lead to a few moments of losing my mind but what kind of relationship would it be if I didn't annoy her
from time to time as well. Everyone loved her and whenever she wandered into a room, everyone smiled as if the time they last saw her were long
years ago. I aspire to be such a wonderfully brilliant human being like my grandma. All the people that she touched in her well lived life,
experienced nothing but warmness and genuine kindness from the bottom of her heart. All my life, growing up with such a hard working woman
makes the freshly open wound harder to heal when she passes away from a dreadful illness. The I found out that her awful cancer came back made
me feel as if no matter how many right things you can do in life, it can always go wrong. It was as if she got punished for being the most
sympathetic person ever. Painfully sucking the life out of her, the cancer took almost a year until the beginning of sophomore year was the last
year I would ever hear her say "have a good day at school". Everyday that passed by after hearing the news of the cancer return was like torture
because I saw her in pain, but couldn't do anything and all I wanted to do was make everything better. She was such a strong person that whenever
she felt discomfort she didn't say anything because she didn't want to worry us. If in my life I can become more than half as strong as she was, I
will know I did something right. She was like a beautiful bright red flourishing rose while the thorn in her side was cancer. The rest of the summer
was going by and my grandma went from having a hospital bed in her once cozy room to being admitted into a hospital. As time slowly passed by,
school had already started. The day I so clearly remember but wish I didn't took place on

Family : The Most Important Thing In My Life
I believe that family is the most important thing in your life. Why you may ask ? Well I believe that it's a part of you that is always gonna be there for
you when times get tough. And it's never going to make you feel like anything less. An Important event that happened in my life that happened that
connects back to the situation that I'm still going through now is that, One day me and my mother had gotten into an argument because she was
frustrated with me she didn't know what to do with me because I wasn't doing well in school and I'm still not, But I'm trying though. So she didn't
know what else to but say hurtful words to me , it was the truth. Then I really found out the about the real meaning of " The truth hurts" myself . But I
could understand why she would just say such a thing like that towards me because my family was already going through something. And I had just
made things worse, I pushed her to a point that she just couldn't take it anymore. But at the same time I had so much hatred towards her I was so
mad . I thought to myself maybe I was just a mistake, maybe I would have been better off with another family or maybe I would have made my
mother's life better by me not just being born. Their was so many things going through my mind. I had felt so awful because I felt like I was the
reason why I kept her from achieving her dreams. I knew I couldn't stay in the house for one minute.
What did I do you ask? Well I ran away. I ran away from my

My Family And My Life
When I was 8, my family and I lived in small house in the city town. Our life was a little bit hard, everyone in the family is always busy, my mom
went to work most of the time and my dad, too. My sister and me we both have school during the day and tutoring class after school. Sometimes, I
only see my mom twice a week even though she is home everyday at midnight because of her busy work. My dad is in charged of taking me to
school and picking me up after tutoring class, but he also have his job, he have to get everything in schedule in order to get everything in fit. On
weekend, I am alone by myself at home or sometimes I go to my friend house and stayed there throughout the week. That was how our life was until my
family got into a situation that I was thinking it is going to be bad, but it came out that I have learned a wonderful life lesson.
One day I came home from school and put my backpack on the hanger, slowly walk into the kitchen where my mom is making food for our family
dinner. I sat down and say "Hi mom, I'm home" with an excited but also tired voice. Then suddenly, she turns back and walk to me, sit down on the
chair and asked "So, how was school school today, my dear? Did you have fun? What have you learned today?" with an lovely voice. "School was
fine today, I learned a lot from all of my classes, but the most important thing that I have learned today was in my math class, my teacher taught me

Chapter I
THE PROBLEM AND ITS STUDY
1. Introduction
Family is very important part of our everyday life. It helps us in improving our personality. It also helps us in shaping our life. It teaches us the value
of love, affection, care, truthfulness and self–confidence and provides us tools and suggestions which are necessary to get success in life.
Family is a place where you can be yourself. It is a place where you are accepted for what you are. This is where you are completely tension free and
everyone is there to help you. Family encourages you when you are surrounded by problems. It helps you survive through tough times and bring joy
and happiness into life.

Psychologists believe that a child learns the most from his or her family life. The way your family members deal with you has a life long effect on
your personality. Keeping in view all these facts the importance of your family life cannot be denied. Family unit happens to be the most important
part of your life till you grow up. The children are usually closer to their parents and their siblings as compared to any other person in the world. As
the children grow up they find good friends, spouses, their own kids and colleagues to share their lives with. Although time brings this change but the
importance of family remains there. The children who have a sound family background and who belong to a family with strong family ties are almost
always happier. Thus one cannot deny the importance of family life.
The life with your family is very important it plays a major role in your development into the person you become. The goals you set for yourself in
your life are very much dependent on the life you have with your family. Those children who belong to the families which have a rich education
background tend to learn more. They are interested in learning more and thus it is easy for their parents to get them educated. Similarly, for example,
children who belong to a family from which a few of the people are in the field of professional sports, the kids tend to have an interest in sports and

My Family And My Life
My family and I moved to the United States in the year 2002 which will be a year that will live within me for the rest of my life. At the time, I was
only six years old and I had no idea what this new country had in store for me. We lived a comfortable, luxurious lifestyle in Syria, but my parents
gave all of that up in order for not only me but my siblings to have a better future in the United States. My parents wanted to pursue the "American
Dream," and they wanted to give me the chance to pursue my dreams as well. They worked multiple low–wage jobs at first until they found the correct
job within their field in order to provide our family with the necessities of life, and I could tell that the laborious factory work was taking a toll on
my mom. I remember seeing how exhausted and beat up they were every night after work, and even at a young age, I knew that I was going to
change that. I told myself that I was going to be successful so I could give my parents all the money they could ever need and they would not have
to work another day in their life. This was very ambitious of me, but it is honestly the least I could do since they have sacrificed so much for me. I
just want to make my parents proud and let them know that all of their sacrifices were worth it. Moving countries has been a life changing experience
that has really strengthen me as an individual both academically and physically. Moving from Syria to Texas was very difficult as I had to adapt to the

Family Life
Family life has changed greatly since the 1950's. In those years, every aspect of a family was based upon certain roles performed by the spouses.
Today, wives no longer solely cook for the family or take care of the children and husbands are no longer the singular providers for thefamily. The
change in roles creates more confusion, which then increases the levels of necessary involvement and attempts for successful family functioning.
Family provides people with important relationships in their life. These relationships assist family members in learning how to relate to others and
grow through the ability to communicate. Family relationships are not easy to uphold, therefore family members need to put effort into their...show

Although a marital relationship begins before any other type of family relationship, this fact does not mean that it is the easiest type to maintain.
Gaining and maintaining marital quality involves commitment, communication and certain adjustments for each of the spouses. From an article in the
Journal of Marriage and Family, Alexis Walker explores a symposium of research on marriage. Walker collects researchers findings and relays that
"...the longitudinal course of marriage reflects processes of interaction, individual strengths and weaknesses, and difficult circumstances" (844).
Constant acknowledgements of aspects of the relationship are necessary in order for marital relationships to work and function successfully. Research
shows that over time, marriage satisfaction tends to decline (Karney and Bradbury 65). Therefore, it is essential for each spouse to try enhancing the
relationship's quality to prolong the marriage.
Although many people believe that a healthy marriage equals a healthy family life, others claim that when the parents are happily married and remain
together, the family and relationships can be dysfunctional. Sometimes, parental involvement can create chaos and complete crises. In Normal Family
Processes, W. Robert Beavers and Robert B. Hampson explore the spectrum of families. Beavers and Hampson conclude that "[i]n these [dysfunctional]

My Day With My Family
I believe that I feel the most comfortable when I am home with my family. Any activity we do together is amazing. Whether it's watching a movie
together, having dinner, or having something to talk about. There is always a time of the day where we just have a good laugh about something
that happened throughout the day. I know my family will always be there for me and I will do the same for them. I believe that I am blessed to
have such a loving, caring, and compassionate family. I believe when times are tough, my family is my true comfort. Even if it's the smallest thing
like a headache or stomachache I feel better with just my mom doing anything for me to feel better. I don't need medicine to heal the smallest
pains; all I need is my family's love. I've never looked at another family and thought, "wow they have an amazing relationship, i am jealous".
Sometimes I do the opposite because I never had thought wrong about my family even when we're aggravated sometimes. I remember during the
summer we would have a cookout every single Saturday and Sunday. We would all get together and have my dads "special asadas". Which are a
special steak well done with allot of lime and spices. We would sit there for hours eating and having a beer. We would call close friends that we even
call family. I believe there is no perfect life or perfect family. I believe my family will overcome anything that causes pain or misery. I believe that we
are in full control of our own wellness, both

Impact of Technology on Family Life Essay
Impact of Technology on Family Life
I think that technology has had both positively and negatively impacted the family life in our society. But I think the positive effects out way the
negative ones. In this term paper I will focus on how cell phones, internet, and home security systems. These are only a few of the technology that has
affected family life. I will first talk about the positive effects then I will explain the negative effects.
Communication has had a big impact on family life in our society. Cell phones have become very popular in the past few years. One big cell phone that
has been very popular with younger generations is the Nextel cell phones. One reason for this is because the Nextel phone...show more content...
Well by using email they are able to talk to each other more, and this makes families closer. I used to use email a lot more to communicate with my
family back home, but since my mom told me about instant messenger I use them. Instant messenger is better then email because you are talking
directly to the person. Instant messenger is also free like email so you don't have a phone bill to worry about. Since I have been using instant messenger
I think by using the internet to communicate with my family and friends it has brought us closer. Anotherpositive impact of the internet is that you can
buy things off the internet. I know a lot of people that do a lot of shopping for gifts and presents on the internet.
Home security systems are a positive affect on family life. Technology has had a big impact on home security systems. With the new technology in
home security it allows the security system to notify the company and the police faster so the police will be able to get to the house faster to stop the
criminal. With some systems if someone is breaking into the house the system will turn on all the lights in the house to scare off the burglar. A really
big positive impact of a home security system is knowing that your family and its belongings will be safe.
A negative impact of cell phones is that a lot of younger people are getting cell phones. And a lot of younger people are not responsible enough and
sometimes forget to pay their phone

Conceiving of gender as a social construction rather than a biologically assigned identity helps explain historical fluctuations in men's and women's
practices and in culturally bound definitions of appropriate male and female behavior. Hansen argues that an individual's gendered behavior is
influenced by culturally constructed notions of what is appropriate for good mothers or good fathers or good people to do when caring for children
(Hansen 7). The perception of American families as "small, self–reliant units headed by a breadwinning father and cared for by a stay–at–home mother"
(1) has considerable influence over family life. This cultural construction affects everything from childrearing to networking to the workplace and

Men strategize to be involved in the lives of their children, niece, nephews, and grandchildren and, importantly, to support the women who are
mothers. Historically men are presented as workers and breadwinners and therefore must consciously strive to break from this role in order to
provide care for their family (7). The idea of an involved father has only recently become something to aspire to, where before it was not a social
expectation.
When a man's unemployment problems are chronic–when he is unable or unwilling to find steady employment over many years–he may be viewed and
may view himself, as having failed to fulfill a central role in his life (Cherlin 122). The general expectation is for men to be employed while women
are expected to care for the children and elderly. Though these social expectation stands, over half of all households in the United States with young
children have two employed parents (Hansen 1). A situation like this is when agender strategy must be employed. Women interpret these cultural
notions and strategize to mobilize help from the fathers of their children, friends, neighbors, and extended kin to care for their children (7). The Crane
family is a prime example of that. Since Patricia Crane is a single mother she has the responsibility of caring for her six–year–old son, Robbie, and
working a job. Though the father, Robert Holcomb, is directly involved in Robbie's life, a network consisting of

Influence Of My Family In My Life
Sometime, your family, home, neighborhood, or community has shaped you as a person. It also affect to my life. My family, my home and
community are who create my personality today. I am growing up little by little each day. the y change my life, change my brain, help me
understand what does the life mean. And today I sit right here, put my pen on the paper to tell you know how they affect to my life. My family is
a part of my life. My parents are leaders who lead me in become a better person, lead me to the way that I can stand up when I was failing. From
them, I learn how to design myself. They teach me how to listen, how to behave, how to be a strong person who does not quail, who can face any
difficulties. They want me to become a person that everyone proud of. Of course, It is not simple. There is someone trying to do everything to be
bright under eye of everyone as well as the way that who want to be famous do; they regardless of everything, regardless of their family's feeling,
regardless public opinion, they trade their soul and body to be famous. They create scandal for themselves to stand above crazy eye of people.
They mistake the meaning of pride. Then, they throw themselves to the hell such as Justin Bieber, who is one of the best singer present. He is
standing above admiration of people, because of his beautiful voice, while he receives criticism of people about his personal. Besides, there is
someone just live a normal life that they want. They just strived to their target of life. They are living in love and in the effort. They do not need
someone's help, just keep going on the way they choose. Facing difficulties that they have to. They are like a little flower is growing toward the
sun. I am one of them, who live is not living under someone's eye. "Get energy from us and keep going", my mom said. I will think result before
starting something. I am not a meticulous and careful person, but I know what is the goal and how to improve myself and my life. I am a stubborn
person, but it does not mean I do not respect the opinions of others. I am a lazy person, but I will contend to get what I want. I like to work by myself

My Family In My Life
"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it"
Proverbs 22:6 When I think of my family, it is often that this verse pops into my head. There are so many times we find we are becoming like
those who came before us, that the histories and beliefs of our families will slowly blend into who we morph into as adults. For much of my life I
aspired to be like my parents. Both strong and intelligent, they were the prime example of what it means to be a well–rounded adult in society.
However, as I have grown, I have realized how important it is to step back and see that we are not always meant to follow the beaten path. My
father is always the easiest to discuss, yet the most difficult, when it comes to religion and culture. A small back story here is needed to fully
understand the place he holds in my life. My father was raised in a Lutheran home. My grandmother, Leona, faithful in dragging (and I mean
dragging) my father to Church each Sunday with his 5 siblings. Because of this, my father was never big on religion. As a small child my earliest
memories of him are in the pew next to me at the catholic church my mother grew up in, to please the new family he had married into. Yet once my
parents divorced my dad never actually talked about God again, except for the few backhanded comments when my Step–mother would leave for
church Sunday mornings. It wasn't till I was a teenager I learned my father didn't believe in God at all. This

I think smoking is a very dangerous habit, and it is can cause respiratory diseases, lung cancer and heart diseases. The smoking could be a big issue in
the future because it not only affects the smoker person, but it affects other people who are not smoking (Krriem, 2012). I advise the father's to

and help her husband to quit.
Home safety is very important for children, because children spent most of their time in home. There are millions of children death by reason of home

When I visited my family, I was taking some notes about their outside the home. They have a large yard and there are playground equipment and small
garden. Also, they have two small stairs outside home. There is no swimming pool. The under surface of the playground is grass which is
non–protective playground for children (Collier, 2013).

Family Life Cycles And The Stages Of The Family
Family life cycle transitions
The family cycle consists of the emotional and intellectual stages from young adult to the end of life. Each stage can cause an individual to face life
challenges that help the family mature. Nearly every family member will experience these changes, and it is not always a smooth transition. The family
has to develop skills to make the family stronger through the challenging change. When the family accomplishes the milestones of each stage, it allows
successful movement to the next level. However, a problematic stage in the family can result in stagnation. Families are interconnected and
interdependent systems of individuals, which cannot be understood in isolation from the family system.
Within the family unit each person has a specific role. For example, the male is often presumably the head of the household. The mother takes care of
the family and the household needs. When the family roles are not being satisfied or the responsibility changes, it affects the family dynamics. The
goal of the family unit is to create a family balance. I am working on understanding my family through the life cycle stages and transitions from the
beginning of the family origin to present.
The death of my grandfather was the biggest transition for my family. He was the head of the entire nuclear and extended family. This significant loss
caused a downward spiral into other problematic situations in the family. My grandfather was the family's financial support,

The family is considered to be an important institution of society, it is responsible for different functions such as reproduction, emotional support and
economic support.(Haralambos and Holborn, 2004). "The family is a social group characterized by common residence, economic cooperation and
reproduction. It includes adults of both sexes, at least two of whom maintain a socially approved sexual relationship, and one or more children, own or
adopted, of the sexually cohabitating adults." (Murdock, 1949) Additionally Functionalist Sociologists have explained that the family unit is a key
institution used to maintain the proper function of society. They highlight that the main charge of the family is to teach the offspring the norms and

such there needed to be measures put in place to ensure these individuals are being taken care of. So as we can imagine this division takes care of the

In addition no matter how much the government try to make these individuals' lives comfortable other citizens work to worsen the positions of these

the needs of their elderly parents. There are retirement homes that house the elderly, those whose children work and cannot take care of them, some of
these homes mistreat their guests again making these retired individuals uncomfortable. The Division of Ageing handles these cases,

The family in Britain is changing .The one typical British family headed by two parents has undergone substantial changes during the twentieth century
.In particular there has been a rise in the number of single–person households, which increased from 18 to 19 per cent of all households between 1971
and 2002.By the year 2020 ,it is estimated that there will be more single people than married people.Fifty years ago this would have been socially

But accommodation can be expensive and so there is a serious problem of homelessness.
I think, that it is not good to leave your home very often, because man must assimilate to new environment and new people. It means less money for

a growing number of children under five are in play groups, nursery schools or kindergartens.
The sons of upper–middle and upper–class families often are sent, from about age of seven,to private boarding schools, from which the boys return
only for school holiday. In Slovakia if the woman expects a baby she can stay with him/her/ at home three years afterwards.I think it is very important
to bring up a baby from his first steps.Sometimes it is not possible to stay at home.Woman must return to work earlier, because she could lose her job.
Then the children are sent to nursery schools. Some of nursery schools were cancelled and so it is a problem what to do with children.Parents in Britain

Road Ends There are moments in life that society portrays as phases or experiences in which most and predicted to go. These moments are referred to
as stages, by theoretical approaches, that are predicted as normative events. The "Family Life Cycle" approach suggest that families have life courses
with predictable stages that are identified by normative events. Though, non–normative events that are not often experienced by families can take a

Family Life In Colonial America

  • 1. Family Life In Colonial America According to "http://family.lovetoknow.com" Family life today is somewhat different from the family life back then in the colonial America. The way of life was mainly determine by wealth. The members of a family who is not wealthy normally live in rural areas, and are responsible for household chores and small family businesses. As for the families who is rich in wealth, the chores were taken care of by hired servants and the family business where marshaled by the father. The life of the children were also affected by wealth. Wealthier children were sent to school or tutored at home to become successful. The son was the alternative if something should happen to the father and the daughters were groomed with high standard and to choose an ambitious Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Personal Narrative Essay : My Family Is My Life My family is my life Life becomes more meaningful when you realize the simple life fact that you will never get the same moment twice. I had lived with my parents until I was 12 years old, but they could not care for me anymore, because they are working in a factory in Juarez for more than six or eight hours a day. They did not like the idea that my sister and I would stay alone, because my older sister was studying at high school and I was studying at elementary school. When looking for a good place that we may stay, after days of searching they found Centro Victoria de NiГ±os Vida en Jesus,a small place but an amazing and comfortable place in Juarez. In this is a place a married couple care for many girls and boys of the same ages as me. Our parents explained the difficult situation we were going through. They told us that it hurt them a lot to leave us, but that they did not have any more options. The reality was that we did not have family in Juarez at the time. They told us that they found an amazing place and small place where we can stay just during the week. All children that have a family can have a chance to go to the home. My sister and I agreed to live there because we did not want to be alone. The first two weeks were very sad to feel that you no longer live in your house, but in this place, we are learning to be good people, get a chance to have two incredible families and having opportunities that changed my life. I loved the way my tutors taught us when we started living in this place. I learned how to behave. My tutors became like my parents. When I was staying in my house, I knew that I was not a good daughter and I had many bad habits like the way I eat and my sleeping habits. It was obvious that my parents did not see things as I did, and thus my tutor talked to me about things that I needed it to change. They explained that this it was not easy, but if I persevere, it will work out as they told me and that people never stop learning. I learned to like other children, to eat, to sleep, to take a shower at the right time. I also learned trust to myself, and be honest. Also, I learned that if I fall, I can stand up because people learn from their mistakes. The last but the most important Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Family : My Family Is The Roots Of My Life Family is nothing but important, they are the roots of who you are, and they keep you grounded. No one will ever be around to support the many successes that you will encounter in life as much as family will be. Of course, family can be more than just blood but the most important bonds that you share in your life. The everlasting relationship my grandma and I possessed will always be the most wonderful bond I will ever hold. Growing up with her from time to time lead to a few moments of losing my mind but what kind of relationship would it be if I didn't annoy her from time to time as well. Everyone loved her and whenever she wandered into a room, everyone smiled as if the time they last saw her were long years ago. I aspire to be such a wonderfully brilliant human being like my grandma. All the people that she touched in her well lived life, experienced nothing but warmness and genuine kindness from the bottom of her heart. All my life, growing up with such a hard working woman makes the freshly open wound harder to heal when she passes away from a dreadful illness. The I found out that her awful cancer came back made me feel as if no matter how many right things you can do in life, it can always go wrong. It was as if she got punished for being the most sympathetic person ever. Painfully sucking the life out of her, the cancer took almost a year until the beginning of sophomore year was the last year I would ever hear her say "have a good day at school". Everyday that passed by after hearing the news of the cancer return was like torture because I saw her in pain, but couldn't do anything and all I wanted to do was make everything better. She was such a strong person that whenever she felt discomfort she didn't say anything because she didn't want to worry us. If in my life I can become more than half as strong as she was, I will know I did something right. She was like a beautiful bright red flourishing rose while the thorn in her side was cancer. The rest of the summer was going by and my grandma went from having a hospital bed in her once cozy room to being admitted into a hospital. As time slowly passed by, school had already started. The day I so clearly remember but wish I didn't took place on Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Family : The Most Important Thing In My Life I believe that family is the most important thing in your life. Why you may ask ? Well I believe that it's a part of you that is always gonna be there for you when times get tough. And it's never going to make you feel like anything less. An Important event that happened in my life that happened that connects back to the situation that I'm still going through now is that, One day me and my mother had gotten into an argument because she was frustrated with me she didn't know what to do with me because I wasn't doing well in school and I'm still not, But I'm trying though. So she didn't know what else to but say hurtful words to me , it was the truth. Then I really found out the about the real meaning of " The truth hurts" myself . But I could understand why she would just say such a thing like that towards me because my family was already going through something. And I had just made things worse, I pushed her to a point that she just couldn't take it anymore. But at the same time I had so much hatred towards her I was so mad . I thought to myself maybe I was just a mistake, maybe I would have been better off with another family or maybe I would have made my mother's life better by me not just being born. Their was so many things going through my mind. I had felt so awful because I felt like I was the reason why I kept her from achieving her dreams. I knew I couldn't stay in the house for one minute. What did I do you ask? Well I ran away. I ran away from my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. My Family And My Life When I was 8, my family and I lived in small house in the city town. Our life was a little bit hard, everyone in the family is always busy, my mom went to work most of the time and my dad, too. My sister and me we both have school during the day and tutoring class after school. Sometimes, I only see my mom twice a week even though she is home everyday at midnight because of her busy work. My dad is in charged of taking me to school and picking me up after tutoring class, but he also have his job, he have to get everything in schedule in order to get everything in fit. On weekend, I am alone by myself at home or sometimes I go to my friend house and stayed there throughout the week. That was how our life was until my family got into a situation that I was thinking it is going to be bad, but it came out that I have learned a wonderful life lesson. One day I came home from school and put my backpack on the hanger, slowly walk into the kitchen where my mom is making food for our family dinner. I sat down and say "Hi mom, I'm home" with an excited but also tired voice. Then suddenly, she turns back and walk to me, sit down on the chair and asked "So, how was school school today, my dear? Did you have fun? What have you learned today?" with an lovely voice. "School was fine today, I learned a lot from all of my classes, but the most important thing that I have learned today was in my math class, my teacher taught me how to write an equation using a formula that can help me in Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The way your family members deal with you has a life long effect on your personality. Keeping in view all these facts the importance of your family life cannot be denied. Family unit happens to be the most important part of your life till you grow up. The children are usually closer to their parents and their siblings as compared to any other person in the world. As the children grow up they find good friends, spouses, their own kids and colleagues to share their lives with. Although time brings this change but the importance of family remains there. The children who have a sound family background and who belong to a family with strong family ties are almost always happier. Thus one cannot deny the importance of family life. The life with your family is very important it plays a major role in your development into the person you become. The goals you set for yourself in your life are very much dependent on the life you have with your family. • 7. My Family And My Life My family and I moved to the United States in the year 2002 which will be a year that will live within me for the rest of my life. At the time, I was only six years old and I had no idea what this new country had in store for me. We lived a comfortable, luxurious lifestyle in Syria, but my parents gave all of that up in order for not only me but my siblings to have a better future in the United States. My parents wanted to pursue the "American Dream," and they wanted to give me the chance to pursue my dreams as well. They worked multiple low–wage jobs at first until they found the correct job within their field in order to provide our family with the necessities of life, and I could tell that the laborious factory work was taking a toll on my mom. I remember seeing how exhausted and beat up they were every night after work, and even at a young age, I knew that I was going to change that. I told myself that I was going to be successful so I could give my parents all the money they could ever need and they would not have to work another day in their life. This was very ambitious of me, but it is honestly the least I could do since they have sacrificed so much for me. I just want to make my parents proud and let them know that all of their sacrifices were worth it. Moving countries has been a life changing experience that has really strengthen me as an individual both academically and physically. Moving from Syria to Texas was very difficult as I had to adapt to the new Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Family Life Family life has changed greatly since the 1950's. In those years, every aspect of a family was based upon certain roles performed by the spouses. Today, wives no longer solely cook for the family or take care of the children and husbands are no longer the singular providers for thefamily. The change in roles creates more confusion, which then increases the levels of necessary involvement and attempts for successful family functioning. Family provides people with important relationships in their life. These relationships assist family members in learning how to relate to others and grow through the ability to communicate. Family relationships are not easy to uphold, therefore family members need to put effort into their...show more content... Although a marital relationship begins before any other type of family relationship, this fact does not mean that it is the easiest type to maintain. Gaining and maintaining marital quality involves commitment, communication and certain adjustments for each of the spouses. From an article in the Journal of Marriage and Family, Alexis Walker explores a symposium of research on marriage. Walker collects researchers findings and relays that "...the longitudinal course of marriage reflects processes of interaction, individual strengths and weaknesses, and difficult circumstances" (844). Constant acknowledgements of aspects of the relationship are necessary in order for marital relationships to work and function successfully. Research shows that over time, marriage satisfaction tends to decline (Karney and Bradbury 65). Therefore, it is essential for each spouse to try enhancing the relationship's quality to prolong the marriage. Although many people believe that a healthy marriage equals a healthy family life, others claim that when the parents are happily married and remain together, the family and relationships can be dysfunctional. Sometimes, parental involvement can create chaos and complete crises. In Normal Family Processes, W. Robert Beavers and Robert B. Hampson explore the spectrum of families. Beavers and Hampson conclude that "[i]n these [dysfunctional] families and individuals, a basic developmental task, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. My Day With My Family I believe that I feel the most comfortable when I am home with my family. Any activity we do together is amazing. Whether it's watching a movie together, having dinner, or having something to talk about. There is always a time of the day where we just have a good laugh about something that happened throughout the day. I know my family will always be there for me and I will do the same for them. I believe that I am blessed to have such a loving, caring, and compassionate family. I believe when times are tough, my family is my true comfort. Even if it's the smallest thing like a headache or stomachache I feel better with just my mom doing anything for me to feel better. I don't need medicine to heal the smallest pains; all I need is my family's love. I've never looked at another family and thought, "wow they have an amazing relationship, i am jealous". Sometimes I do the opposite because I never had thought wrong about my family even when we're aggravated sometimes. I remember during the summer we would have a cookout every single Saturday and Sunday. We would all get together and have my dads "special asadas". Which are a special steak well done with allot of lime and spices. We would sit there for hours eating and having a beer. We would call close friends that we even call family. I believe there is no perfect life or perfect family. I believe my family will overcome anything that causes pain or misery. I believe that we are in full control of our own wellness, both Get more content on HelpWriting.net

With the new technology in home security it allows the security system to notify the company and the police faster so the police will be able to get to the house faster to stop the criminal. With some systems if someone is breaking into the house the system will turn on all the lights in the house to scare off the burglar. A really big positive impact of a home security system is knowing that your family and its belongings will be safe. A negative impact of cell phones is that a lot of younger people are getting cell phones. • 11. Conceiving of gender as a social construction rather than a biologically assigned identity helps explain historical fluctuations in men's and women's practices and in culturally bound definitions of appropriate male and female behavior. Hansen argues that an individual's gendered behavior is influenced by culturally constructed notions of what is appropriate for good mothers or good fathers or good people to do when caring for children (Hansen 7). The perception of American families as "small, self–reliant units headed by a breadwinning father and cared for by a stay–at–home mother" (1) has considerable influence over family life. This cultural construction affects everything from childrearing to networking to the workplace and individuals...show more content... Men strategize to be involved in the lives of their children, niece, nephews, and grandchildren and, importantly, to support the women who are mothers. Historically men are presented as workers and breadwinners and therefore must consciously strive to break from this role in order to provide care for their family (7). The idea of an involved father has only recently become something to aspire to, where before it was not a social expectation. When a man's unemployment problems are chronic–when he is unable or unwilling to find steady employment over many years–he may be viewed and may view himself, as having failed to fulfill a central role in his life (Cherlin 122). The general expectation is for men to be employed while women are expected to care for the children and elderly. Though these social expectation stands, over half of all households in the United States with young children have two employed parents (Hansen 1). A situation like this is when agender strategy must be employed. Women interpret these cultural notions and strategize to mobilize help from the fathers of their children, friends, neighbors, and extended kin to care for their children (7). The Crane family is a prime example of that. Since Patricia Crane is a single mother she has the responsibility of caring for her six–year–old son, Robbie, and working a job. Though the father, Robert Holcomb, is directly involved in Robbie's life, a network consisting of Get more content on HelpWriting.net

My Family In My Life "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it" Proverbs 22:6 When I think of my family, it is often that this verse pops into my head. There are so many times we find we are becoming like those who came before us, that the histories and beliefs of our families will slowly blend into who we morph into as adults. For much of my life I aspired to be like my parents. Both strong and intelligent, they were the prime example of what it means to be a well–rounded adult in society. However, as I have grown, I have realized how important it is to step back and see that we are not always meant to follow the beaten path. My father is always the easiest to discuss, yet the most difficult, when it comes to religion and culture. A small back story here is needed to fully understand the place he holds in my life. My father was raised in a Lutheran home. My grandmother, Leona, faithful in dragging (and I mean dragging) my father to Church each Sunday with his 5 siblings. Because of this, my father was never big on religion. As a small child my earliest memories of him are in the pew next to me at the catholic church my mother grew up in, to please the new family he had married into. Yet once my parents divorced my dad never actually talked about God again, except for the few backhanded comments when my Step–mother would leave for church Sunday mornings. It wasn't till I was a teenager I learned my father didn't believe in God at all. This Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 16. Family Life Cycles And The Stages Of The Family Family life cycle transitions The family cycle consists of the emotional and intellectual stages from young adult to the end of life. Each stage can cause an individual to face life challenges that help the family mature. Nearly every family member will experience these changes, and it is not always a smooth transition. The family has to develop skills to make the family stronger through the challenging change. When the family accomplishes the milestones of each stage, it allows successful movement to the next level. However, a problematic stage in the family can result in stagnation. Families are interconnected and interdependent systems of individuals, which cannot be understood in isolation from the family system. Within the family unit each person has a specific role. For example, the male is often presumably the head of the household. The mother takes care of the family and the household needs. When the family roles are not being satisfied or the responsibility changes, it affects the family dynamics. The goal of the family unit is to create a family balance. I am working on understanding my family through the life cycle stages and transitions from the beginning of the family origin to present. The death of my grandfather was the biggest transition for my family. He was the head of the entire nuclear and extended family. This significant loss caused a downward spiral into other problematic situations in the family. My grandfather was the family's financial support, Get more content on HelpWriting.net

As such there needed to be measures put in place to ensure these individuals are being taken care of. So as we can imagine this division takes care of the concerns of the elderly population. In addition no matter how much the government try to make these individuals' lives comfortable other citizens work to worsen the positions of these retired peoples. There have been cases where children of these pensioners take the money provided by the government to use for themselves, ignoring the needs of their elderly parents. There are retirement homes that house the elderly, those whose children work and cannot take care of them, some of these homes mistreat their guests again making these retired individuals uncomfortable.
