Giving is Important Essay
There are many reasons why giving is important. It is a way to show appreciation, to say thank you, or to show someone you care. Sometimes it is
hard to express true feelings in words, but offering a token of appreciation will not only represent your feelings, but will allow the recipient to know
how much you appreciate them.
There are many people that we come across in our every day life that perhaps make our days easier, such as neighbors, co–workers, even mail carriers
or the local cashier at the grocery store. While giving does not always have to be a gift, offering a kind word or a friendly smile goes a long way in
saying thank you for all you do, and will encourage the chances of a friendly and successful relationship in the...show more content...
Giving food to the needy, items of use to a family whose house may have burned, even monetary donations to a children's charity can make a huge
difference.
Giving is an important trait to teach children. For example, if a child helps pick out a gift for a family member who is having a birthday and presents
them with this gift, it teaches them to be unselfish, how to share and to appreciate the pleasure of giving to others. Teaching by example is the best
way to show a child how to give, not only gifts but in other ways as well. Visiting someone in the hospital, sending a thank you, get–well card or
congratulations card, even Christmas cards are excellent ways to teach a child the importance of giving.
Christmas is a popular time for exchanging gifts with family and friends, husbands and wives, neighbors and co–workers. Taking the time to pick out
just the right gift for everyone and seeing the look of content on their faces when they receive these gifts is what makes giving important, especially
when giving to children. Baking cookies or candy for the neighbors or for co–workers is a gesture that will they will appreciate, and is part of what
makes giving important.
Time, gifts, cards or words of kindness all are a part of giving. A manager who gives time off, bonuses, or other incentives to his employees for a job
well done will definitely reap the

Greatest Invention Essays
What is the greatest invention of all time?
Throughout time there have been lots of new inventions which have both hindered and helped everyday life with humans. There are many different
possible world's greatest inventions because they have all helped out humankind in some way, some more than others.
I think that the greatest invention of all time is Harnessed Electricity. Some may argue that this was not an invention it was a discovery but although
electricity itself was a discovery there was still the invention of had to use it and what it could be used for. I think that electricity is very important to
human life because it would be nearly impossible to do anything we do today. If we didn't have electricity a lot of things would...show more content...
I believe that the use of electricity in healthcare is more important than the use of penicillin because of the x–rays, MRI scans, life support machines,
cat scans, ultrasound, surgery lighting, heart rate monitors, incubators and loads of other much needed specialist equipment. This equipment has over
the years helped to save millions of lives and although penicillin helps to treat the odd few illnesses it doesn't help to run a well equipped hospital
which saves even more lives with the billions of people who visit a hospital every year.
Without electricity there would be no light and it would constantly be dark from around 4pm ever day. This would restrict most people from doing
things because as soon as it was dark they would have to go to bed because there would be no lighting. Nobody could go out after dark as there
would be no street lights on the roads and houses would have to be lit by candle light which wouldn't give of the strength of light that a light bulb
does now. Yet again it would be exactly like living in the dark ages.

Personal Experience During an Interview Essay
When I think of the word interview I think of it as a series of questions asked from one person to another to seek information. In my previous
assessment we were asked to interview a fellow peer, on their personal experience of QIBT so far this year. We were not given any question, but
made to think of our own. As we were interviewing our peer another peer was marking us on our overall ability to interview. This piece of reflective
writing will be an explanation of what I thought my personal strengths and weaknesses were throughout my interview.
Through reflecting on my previous interview I was able to pull apart both positives and negatives aspects of my interview allowing myself time to look
into the effects that the negative...show more content...
Whilst the open ended questions allowed deeper responses as spoken about above it was also evident that these questions allowed Mary Doe to feel
comfortable throughout the interview as she was allowed to express her own open thought rather than having a written script of multiple smaller closed
ended questions. REF
The safe environment was carried through the whole interview. I concluded the interview by asking Mary Doe if she had any concerns or further
questions she would like to talk about. This continues the safe environment feel, which I created throughout the whole interview.
Once finishing the interview I recall thinking that I had forgotten one major factor within the interview, which was taking notes. This would have to
be my only major weakness that I found I had whilst interviewing Mary Doe. At the time I was so focused on eye contact, so it was really easy for
myself to just ask the questions and get lost in the answer whilst trying to figure out what question to ask next. The lack of note taking in response to
Mary Doe's answers left me forgetting to listen one hundred percent as I was switching focus to what came next. When researching how I can
improve this skill there was a lot of positive feedback on how to strengthen this skill. One that I shall be focusing on for future interviewing
opportunities is to continually jot down small phrases as spoken, any specific information that is useful

My Definition of Success Essay example
"Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value."
– Albert Einstein ––
My personal definition would not include "stuff" at all. No one will care (and neither will you) what kind of car your drove or how big your house
was when you're on your deathbed. Your thoughts will not be about your job, the office or how much money you made.
Personal success is defined by how content and enjoyable your life is. That is not to say that challenges and disappointments aren't included in this. A
rich, eventful and challenging life doing what you enjoy and positively affecting others seems to me to be just about right. Find a job you love and
you'll never work another day in your life. I know I won't. In my...show more content...
Past, present and future are all important to keep in perspective. Looking back and not having regrets is extremely satisfying. Your current situation and
your contentment with it are also very important, and having goals and milestones to work toward in the future keeps you motivated and keeps life
interesting and challenging.
In this age in which we live, success is generally measured by the amount of money you earn, or the amount of wealth or power or number of
promotions you've accumulated. I find that the older I grow, the more I view the people who are most happy and content with their lives as the most
successful. Rich, poor or in between, they've tended to treat life as a journey, not a final destination. They took that trip when they were 25 even
though they really couldn't afford it, they ordered the $55 bottle of wine with their filet because they knew that even though it was expensive it would
enhance the meal so much more than water would. They took a chance on a start–up company, moved to Europe or Asia and experienced things that
most people only dream about. If they managed to grow wealthy from the experience, so much the better. As long as moderation with most things is
practiced, things won't spin out of control.
Bottom line rules for a successful life:
Always try new things.
Listen twice as much as you talk.
Travel as much as you can comfortably afford.
Faith and family always come first –

used as an integral component of the primary and secondary prevention in reducing mortality and improving the quality of life. Upon reviewing the
literature, the author found that, patients' perspective about physical exercise differs widely. In their study Holder et al (2015) found that, the increased
awareness of the mortality after the cardiac event, help the patients to change their outlook towards life and this further help them to realise the health
benefit of exercise. In addition to that, some of the patients claimed that, exercise helped to divert their mind and thus helps them to cope with the
condition (Holder et al, 2015). Moreover, the current cardiac rehabilitation programme, made the patients aware of the health benefits of exercise and,
therefore they were motivated to continue the exercise (Hillsdon et al, 2013; Morken et al, 2013). Exercising in a safe environment, under the
supervision of the trained staff increases the confidence of patients in participating exercise (Morken et al, 2013). The study also found that, the patient
increases their self–confidence level in performing exercise, after seeing the health improvements in the former cardiac patients (Morken et al, 2013).

Before taking this course my writing styles and habits were very different. I was the typical procrastinator because I would wait until the night before a
paper was due to start it. This did not allow me enough time to properly proofread everything, which resulted in getting points deducted for simple
grammatical errors that could have been avoided if I would have had the time to proofread. My writing styles have many strengths and weaknesses and I
have been able to improve my writing because of them. I have learned from my strengths and weaknesses how to become a better writer.

taking this course I have been able to improve many of my weaknesses, but there are still some that I need to work on. Overall I am becoming
better at not procrastinating as much as I used to. This class has helped me to learn to take the little steps along the way because then there will not
be as much work to do towards the end. This has also made me realize that the final product of my writing will turn out better because it will have
had more time to develop, which means that there would have been more opportunities to proofread. I think by learning many styles of writing,
such as paraphrasing, summarizing, analyzing, and researching; it has enabled me to be able to write more broadly. By knowing how to correctly
use all of these kinds of writing styles, it will help me in the future for other classes because I will have the knowledge that I need to write these
types of papers. I still procrastinate sometimes, but not as much as I used to. I will be able to improve on this as time goes along because I will
become more motivated by seeing the end result, which usually would be better grades.
Overall I think that my most of my writing habits have improved and for the ones that have not I know what they are and what I need to do to

Example Of The Hegelian Dialectic
1 Hegelian Dialectic: a step by step guide to controlling an outcome.
A dialectical (Divided) method of argument by 19th Century German philosopher, G.W.F. Hegel. It is a method Comprised of Thesis, antithesis, and
synthesis.
The Hegelian Dialectic. A process where the contradiction between theThesis and Antithesis resolves to a higher level of truth, the synthesis. Also
knows as the Problem, Reaction, Solution.
Its getting to the truth by exchange of logical arguments. When manipulating this method a person or group of people are swayed to chose a desired
outcome. Understanding is the first step to controlling. This formulaic trick moves groups of people. It is how we get many major changes in our
society.

Presenting the extreme cases govern the majority. It is why the defense against a critical thinker is often grouping them with a exaggerated caricature.

When you question claims in the mainstream. You are a "Science Denier". But, as when science said trans fat are good, later found untrue. Scientist

Essay about Crime
Crime
In general the definition of a crime is an act punishable by law, usually considered an evil act. Crime refers to many types of misconduct forbidden
by law. Crimes include such things as murder, stealing a car, resisting arrest, possession or dealing of illegal drugs, being nude in public , drunk
driving, and bank robbery. Crime is an act that has been timeless and has been committed practically since the start of time. For example, ever since
Cain killed his brother Abel (B.C.), people being charged with witchcraft in the 1600's, prostitution, to the current crimes of modern day(A.D.). Even
though crime has existed throughout time it has progressed and branched out taking many types forms....show more content...
Crimes are frequently classified according to their seriousness as felonies or misdemeanors. Generally, felonies are more serious than misdemeanors.
Under the federal criminal law system, felonies are crimes for which the punishment is death or imprisonment for more than a year. Amisdemeanor is
punishable by a fine or by imprisonment for less than a year. In most states persons convicted of felonies are sent to state prisons, while those guilty of
misdemeanors serve their sentence in city, or county jails, or correction houses.
Crimes against people include assault, kidnapping, murder, and sexual attacks. Such crimes usually bring severe punishments. Crimes against property
include arson, automobile theft, burglary, embezzlement, forgery, fraud, larceny, and vandalism. In most cases, these crimes carry lighter penalties
than the crimes set against the person. Robbery is the crime most difficult to classify. The law considers robbery a crime against the person or against
the property, according to the case. Robbery may involve simply stealing property from another person, but when a personal encounter occurs between
the robber and his victim, it may include violence and bodily harm. This usually occurs during muggings or other strong–arm robberies.

Essay about Sampling
Sampling
Carrying out a survey of every single potential consumer (known as population) of a firm's product would be impractical, time–consuming and costly.
Businesses still, however, need to collect enough primary data to have a clear idea of the views of consumers. This can be done by taking a sample of
the population. This sample group should be made up of consumers that are representative of all potential buyers of the product. There are a number of
ways in which a sample can be chosen.
Random Sampling
This method gives each member of a group an equal chance of being chosen. In other words, the sample is selected at random, rather like picking
numbers out of a hat. Today computers can...show more content...
So, if the business was interested in how 'class' affected consumers' demand for a food product, it might divide the population up into different class
groups, such as working class males, middle class females etc. A random sample could then be chosen from each of these groups by making sure that
they were the same proportions of the sample in each category as in population as a whole. So if the population had 10 per cent upper class males, so
would the sample.
Quota Sampling
This sampling method involves the population being segmented into a number of groups which share specific characteristics. These may be based
on the age and the sex of the population. Interviewers are then given targets for the number of people out of each segment who they must interview.
For example, and interviewer may be asked to interview 10 males between the ages of 18 and 25, or 15 females between the ages of 45 and 60. Once
the target is reached, no more people from that group are interviewed. The advantage of this sampling method is that it can be cheaper to operate than
many of the others. It is also useful where the proportions of the different groups within the population are known. However, results from quota
sampling are not statistically representative of the population and are not randomly chosen. They must therefore be treated with caution.
Cluster Sampling
This involves

Essay on The Meaning of Life
The Meaning of Life
My few years on this planet have been a bit confusing. I have learned of many aspects of life from which one can draw meaning, if indeed such
meaning can be drawn. I have also learned that there can be no singular meaning of life to stand for us all, or even any one of us. What I have learned
above all is that trying to put words to the meaning of life is a task of absolute absurdity. This is not to be confused with the idea that life has no
meaning, for life certainly has meaning. However, there is no single meaning of life to be defined – life is different for us all. Therefore, rather than
define life for an entire planet, I shall try to explain what life means as I perceive it, and why it means so....show more content...
Life is a complicated twist of suffering, laughing, and learning all merging to tell a great story – or great many stories. Based on this view, "it is not the
end goal or outcome of life that gives life meaning but rather the quality of the story, the quality with which one lives out and develops his or her role."
At the time, this event seemed rather insignificant and did not merit remembrance. However, its catastrophic effects on my attitude that evening may
have helped to mold me into the person I have become. I learned that suffering through such an event, as childish as it was, is quite necessary in any
life. Such pains are part of an interminable cycle and only generate balance in one's life (p. 62, 'Life as Suffering'). Despite my horrid time spent that
evening, the laughter brought since the incident is a worthy tradeoff. Laughter is an all too necessary function of life, just as suffering and the wide
range of other emotions. "Some thinkers would emphasize the importance of sophistication in humor, but others would say that laughter itself is what
is important." Whatever the case may be, laughter is an important ingredient in life, and must not be taken for granted nor ignored.
Despite such emotional ties to life, I have also learned that life is not only about emotions. Those emotions are generated from the chain reactions
created endlessly in

The Artist And The Art Essay
The Artist and the Art
The history of art dates back to ancient times. Artwork can be, and was, found around the world. What makes art interesting is that it can be created
in any way, shape or form with any materials. It seems that the artwork can also tell us a lot about the artist. Art seems to be simply, a direct, visual
reflection of the artist's life. Therefore, one can assume that an artist's life experiences and beliefs directly influence their art. If we look at examples
from different periods of art we will be able to see the connection between the artist and the art.

It is documented that he felt that art should be different from the real world, which can be cold and harsh. He said, "Why shouldn't art be pretty?" and
"There are enough unpleasant things in the world." An example of his attitude towards art can be seen in 'A Girl with a Watering Can' from 1876.
This picture can easily be interpreted as being beautiful and therefore it proves that his belief of art is true. 'Dance at Bougival' from 1883, is yet
another example of the artist and the inspiration for the art. By painting an attractive scene with two people dancing accompanied by laughing faces in
the background we see a correlation between his quotes above and this piece. Therefore, one can conclude that Renoir painted mostly beautiful and
attractive art.
Unfortunately, for some artists, the reality of life isn't so beautiful. One of the most talented, yet mentally ill artists of all time was Vincent Van Gogh.
He was also from the 19th century belonging to the post–impressionists. In order for one to analyze the art of

Giving Is Important Essay

  • 1. Giving is Important Essay There are many reasons why giving is important. It is a way to show appreciation, to say thank you, or to show someone you care. Sometimes it is hard to express true feelings in words, but offering a token of appreciation will not only represent your feelings, but will allow the recipient to know how much you appreciate them. There are many people that we come across in our every day life that perhaps make our days easier, such as neighbors, co–workers, even mail carriers or the local cashier at the grocery store. While giving does not always have to be a gift, offering a kind word or a friendly smile goes a long way in saying thank you for all you do, and will encourage the chances of a friendly and successful relationship in the...show more content... Giving food to the needy, items of use to a family whose house may have burned, even monetary donations to a children's charity can make a huge difference. Giving is an important trait to teach children. For example, if a child helps pick out a gift for a family member who is having a birthday and presents them with this gift, it teaches them to be unselfish, how to share and to appreciate the pleasure of giving to others. Teaching by example is the best way to show a child how to give, not only gifts but in other ways as well. Visiting someone in the hospital, sending a thank you, get–well card or congratulations card, even Christmas cards are excellent ways to teach a child the importance of giving. Christmas is a popular time for exchanging gifts with family and friends, husbands and wives, neighbors and co–workers. Taking the time to pick out just the right gift for everyone and seeing the look of content on their faces when they receive these gifts is what makes giving important, especially when giving to children. Baking cookies or candy for the neighbors or for co–workers is a gesture that will they will appreciate, and is part of what makes giving important. Time, gifts, cards or words of kindness all are a part of giving. A manager who gives time off, bonuses, or other incentives to his employees for a job well done will definitely reap the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Greatest Invention Essays What is the greatest invention of all time? Throughout time there have been lots of new inventions which have both hindered and helped everyday life with humans. There are many different possible world's greatest inventions because they have all helped out humankind in some way, some more than others. I think that the greatest invention of all time is Harnessed Electricity. Some may argue that this was not an invention it was a discovery but although electricity itself was a discovery there was still the invention of had to use it and what it could be used for. I think that electricity is very important to human life because it would be nearly impossible to do anything we do today. If we didn't have electricity a lot of things would...show more content... I believe that the use of electricity in healthcare is more important than the use of penicillin because of the x–rays, MRI scans, life support machines, cat scans, ultrasound, surgery lighting, heart rate monitors, incubators and loads of other much needed specialist equipment. This equipment has over the years helped to save millions of lives and although penicillin helps to treat the odd few illnesses it doesn't help to run a well equipped hospital which saves even more lives with the billions of people who visit a hospital every year. Without electricity there would be no light and it would constantly be dark from around 4pm ever day. This would restrict most people from doing things because as soon as it was dark they would have to go to bed because there would be no lighting. Nobody could go out after dark as there would be no street lights on the roads and houses would have to be lit by candle light which wouldn't give of the strength of light that a light bulb does now. Yet again it would be exactly like living in the dark ages. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Personal Experience During an Interview Essay When I think of the word interview I think of it as a series of questions asked from one person to another to seek information. In my previous assessment we were asked to interview a fellow peer, on their personal experience of QIBT so far this year. We were not given any question, but made to think of our own. As we were interviewing our peer another peer was marking us on our overall ability to interview. This piece of reflective writing will be an explanation of what I thought my personal strengths and weaknesses were throughout my interview. Through reflecting on my previous interview I was able to pull apart both positives and negatives aspects of my interview allowing myself time to look into the effects that the negative...show more content... Whilst the open ended questions allowed deeper responses as spoken about above it was also evident that these questions allowed Mary Doe to feel comfortable throughout the interview as she was allowed to express her own open thought rather than having a written script of multiple smaller closed ended questions. REF The safe environment was carried through the whole interview. I concluded the interview by asking Mary Doe if she had any concerns or further questions she would like to talk about. This continues the safe environment feel, which I created throughout the whole interview. Once finishing the interview I recall thinking that I had forgotten one major factor within the interview, which was taking notes. This would have to be my only major weakness that I found I had whilst interviewing Mary Doe. At the time I was so focused on eye contact, so it was really easy for myself to just ask the questions and get lost in the answer whilst trying to figure out what question to ask next. The lack of note taking in response to Mary Doe's answers left me forgetting to listen one hundred percent as I was switching focus to what came next. When researching how I can improve this skill there was a lot of positive feedback on how to strengthen this skill. One that I shall be focusing on for future interviewing opportunities is to continually jot down small phrases as spoken, any specific information that is useful Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. My Definition of Success Essay example "Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value." – Albert Einstein –– My personal definition would not include "stuff" at all. No one will care (and neither will you) what kind of car your drove or how big your house was when you're on your deathbed. Your thoughts will not be about your job, the office or how much money you made. Personal success is defined by how content and enjoyable your life is. That is not to say that challenges and disappointments aren't included in this. A rich, eventful and challenging life doing what you enjoy and positively affecting others seems to me to be just about right. Find a job you love and you'll never work another day in your life. I know I won't. In my...show more content... Past, present and future are all important to keep in perspective. Looking back and not having regrets is extremely satisfying. Your current situation and your contentment with it are also very important, and having goals and milestones to work toward in the future keeps you motivated and keeps life interesting and challenging. In this age in which we live, success is generally measured by the amount of money you earn, or the amount of wealth or power or number of promotions you've accumulated. I find that the older I grow, the more I view the people who are most happy and content with their lives as the most successful. Rich, poor or in between, they've tended to treat life as a journey, not a final destination. They took that trip when they were 25 even though they really couldn't afford it, they ordered the $55 bottle of wine with their filet because they knew that even though it was expensive it would enhance the meal so much more than water would. They took a chance on a start–up company, moved to Europe or Asia and experienced things that most people only dream about. If they managed to grow wealthy from the experience, so much the better. As long as moderation with most things is practiced, things won't spin out of control. Bottom line rules for a successful life: Always try new things. Listen twice as much as you talk. Travel as much as you can comfortably afford. Faith and family always come first –

In their study Holder et al (2015) found that, the increased awareness of the mortality after the cardiac event, help the patients to change their outlook towards life and this further help them to realise the health benefit of exercise. In addition to that, some of the patients claimed that, exercise helped to divert their mind and thus helps them to cope with the condition (Holder et al, 2015). Moreover, the current cardiac rehabilitation programme, made the patients aware of the health benefits of exercise and, therefore they were motivated to continue the exercise (Hillsdon et al, 2013; Morken et al, 2013). Exercising in a safe environment, under the supervision of the trained staff increases the confidence of patients in participating exercise (Morken et al, 2013). Example Of Ethnographic Essay This study will employ ethnographic research methods for data collection and it will be comprised of: Participant Observation: In this research, I will utilize an observation method to record behaviors, activities, teaching methods, language of instruction, community centers and home learning environments, teachers' awareness of refugee students' needs, parents' educational support, the refugee students' previous educational experiences, language barrier, and educational resources. It will also provide a chance for the researcher to explain the research aims, participants' rights, and voluntarily participation policy. At the end of the data collection, the researcher will also have a meeting with the participants, wherein the researcher will express his gratitude to the participants, with some gifts. The meeting will also give an opportunity for the researcher to share the findings with the participants. Reflective Field Notes: Throughout my data collections I will be jotting down my emic and etic perspectives about their educational experience. For this study, it is essential for the researcher to keep a record of reflective field notes. Since, refugee participants may have seen or experienced some violence and persecution in their home county and, currently, may have been facing challenges as well. And, sometimes, they may not be able to describe their unpleasant experiences and often pause or have tears in their eyes. Therefore, the researcher's reflective field notes will attempt to record those instances on a Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 9. Essay on Self-Analysis Self–Analysis Before taking this course my writing styles and habits were very different. I was the typical procrastinator because I would wait until the night before a paper was due to start it. This did not allow me enough time to properly proofread everything, which resulted in getting points deducted for simple grammatical errors that could have been avoided if I would have had the time to proofread. My writing styles have many strengths and weaknesses and I have been able to improve my writing because of them. I have learned from my strengths and weaknesses how to become a better writer. I can write a thesis that will give an overview about what main topic of the paper is and what other elements will be addressed in the paper. From taking this course I have been able to improve many of my weaknesses, but there are still some that I need to work on. Overall I am becoming better at not procrastinating as much as I used to. This class has helped me to learn to take the little steps along the way because then there will not be as much work to do towards the end. This has also made me realize that the final product of my writing will turn out better because it will have had more time to develop, which means that there would have been more opportunities to proofread. I think by learning many styles of writing, such as paraphrasing, summarizing, analyzing, and researching; it has enabled me to be able to write more broadly. By knowing how to correctly use all of these kinds of writing styles, it will help me in the future for other classes because I will have the knowledge that I need to write these types of papers. I still procrastinate sometimes, but not as much as I used to. I will be able to improve on this as time goes along because I will become more motivated by seeing the end result, which usually would be better grades. Overall I think that my most of my writing habits have improved and for the ones that have not I know what they are and what I need to do to improve them. • 10. Example Of The Hegelian Dialectic 1 Hegelian Dialectic: a step by step guide to controlling an outcome. A dialectical (Divided) method of argument by 19th Century German philosopher, G.W.F. Hegel. It is a method Comprised of Thesis, antithesis, and synthesis. The Hegelian Dialectic. A process where the contradiction between theThesis and Antithesis resolves to a higher level of truth, the synthesis. Also knows as the Problem, Reaction, Solution. Its getting to the truth by exchange of logical arguments. When manipulating this method a person or group of people are swayed to chose a desired outcome. Understanding is the first step to controlling. This formulaic trick moves groups of people. It is how we get many major changes in our society. • 12. Essay about Crime Crime In general the definition of a crime is an act punishable by law, usually considered an evil act. Crime refers to many types of misconduct forbidden by law. Crimes include such things as murder, stealing a car, resisting arrest, possession or dealing of illegal drugs, being nude in public , drunk driving, and bank robbery. Crime is an act that has been timeless and has been committed practically since the start of time. For example, ever since Cain killed his brother Abel (B.C.), people being charged with witchcraft in the 1600's, prostitution, to the current crimes of modern day(A.D.). Even though crime has existed throughout time it has progressed and branched out taking many types forms....show more content... Crimes are frequently classified according to their seriousness as felonies or misdemeanors. Generally, felonies are more serious than misdemeanors. Under the federal criminal law system, felonies are crimes for which the punishment is death or imprisonment for more than a year. Amisdemeanor is punishable by a fine or by imprisonment for less than a year. In most states persons convicted of felonies are sent to state prisons, while those guilty of misdemeanors serve their sentence in city, or county jails, or correction houses. Crimes against people include assault, kidnapping, murder, and sexual attacks. Such crimes usually bring severe punishments. Crimes against property include arson, automobile theft, burglary, embezzlement, forgery, fraud, larceny, and vandalism. In most cases, these crimes carry lighter penalties than the crimes set against the person. Robbery is the crime most difficult to classify. The law considers robbery a crime against the person or against the property, according to the case. Robbery may involve simply stealing property from another person, but when a personal encounter occurs between the robber and his victim, it may include violence and bodily harm. This usually occurs during muggings or other strong–arm robberies. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Essay about Sampling Sampling Carrying out a survey of every single potential consumer (known as population) of a firm's product would be impractical, time–consuming and costly. Businesses still, however, need to collect enough primary data to have a clear idea of the views of consumers. This can be done by taking a sample of the population. This sample group should be made up of consumers that are representative of all potential buyers of the product. There are a number of ways in which a sample can be chosen. Random Sampling This method gives each member of a group an equal chance of being chosen. In other words, the sample is selected at random, rather like picking numbers out of a hat. Today computers can...show more content... So, if the business was interested in how 'class' affected consumers' demand for a food product, it might divide the population up into different class groups, such as working class males, middle class females etc. A random sample could then be chosen from each of these groups by making sure that they were the same proportions of the sample in each category as in population as a whole. So if the population had 10 per cent upper class males, so would the sample. Quota Sampling This sampling method involves the population being segmented into a number of groups which share specific characteristics. These may be based on the age and the sex of the population. Interviewers are then given targets for the number of people out of each segment who they must interview. For example, and interviewer may be asked to interview 10 males between the ages of 18 and 25, or 15 females between the ages of 45 and 60. Once the target is reached, no more people from that group are interviewed. The advantage of this sampling method is that it can be cheaper to operate than many of the others. It is also useful where the proportions of the different groups within the population are known. However, results from quota sampling are not statistically representative of the population and are not randomly chosen. They must therefore be treated with caution. Cluster Sampling

The only problems I encountered when trying to write the essays that were assigned to me by the instructor was finding suitable subject matter to write about. Once I found my topics for my essay, everything else became easier. I would first produce a rough draft and then the students, the instructor, and myself would go over them in class and decided if what I was writing was in its best form. • 16. Essay on The Meaning of Life The Meaning of Life My few years on this planet have been a bit confusing. I have learned of many aspects of life from which one can draw meaning, if indeed such meaning can be drawn. I have also learned that there can be no singular meaning of life to stand for us all, or even any one of us. What I have learned above all is that trying to put words to the meaning of life is a task of absolute absurdity. This is not to be confused with the idea that life has no meaning, for life certainly has meaning. However, there is no single meaning of life to be defined – life is different for us all. Therefore, rather than define life for an entire planet, I shall try to explain what life means as I perceive it, and why it means so....show more content... Life is a complicated twist of suffering, laughing, and learning all merging to tell a great story – or great many stories. Based on this view, "it is not the end goal or outcome of life that gives life meaning but rather the quality of the story, the quality with which one lives out and develops his or her role." At the time, this event seemed rather insignificant and did not merit remembrance. However, its catastrophic effects on my attitude that evening may have helped to mold me into the person I have become. I learned that suffering through such an event, as childish as it was, is quite necessary in any life. Such pains are part of an interminable cycle and only generate balance in one's life (p. 62, 'Life as Suffering'). Despite my horrid time spent that evening, the laughter brought since the incident is a worthy tradeoff. Laughter is an all too necessary function of life, just as suffering and the wide range of other emotions. "Some thinkers would emphasize the importance of sophistication in humor, but others would say that laughter itself is what is important." Whatever the case may be, laughter is an important ingredient in life, and must not be taken for granted nor ignored. Despite such emotional ties to life, I have also learned that life is not only about emotions. Those emotions are generated from the chain reactions created endlessly in Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 21. The Artist And The Art Essay The Artist and the Art The history of art dates back to ancient times. Artwork can be, and was, found around the world. What makes art interesting is that it can be created in any way, shape or form with any materials. It seems that the artwork can also tell us a lot about the artist. Art seems to be simply, a direct, visual reflection of the artist's life. Therefore, one can assume that an artist's life experiences and beliefs directly influence their art. If we look at examples from different periods of art we will be able to see the connection between the artist and the art. One of the earliest examples of beliefs and tradition affecting art can be seen in Ancient art. The ancient Egyptians had a strong...show more content... This could be true, but it just shows how life experiences also directly influence the outcome of a piece. If we look at periods closer to the present we can also see other strong examples of the relevance between art and the artist. Impressionism began during the 19th century. An example of an artist's beliefs influencing his art can be seen in the works of Pierre Auguste Renoir. It is documented that he felt that art should be different from the real world, which can be cold and harsh. He said, "Why shouldn't art be pretty?" and "There are enough unpleasant things in the world." An example of his attitude towards art can be seen in 'A Girl with a Watering Can' from 1876. This picture can easily be interpreted as being beautiful and therefore it proves that his belief of art is true. 'Dance at Bougival' from 1883, is yet another example of the artist and the inspiration for the art. By painting an attractive scene with two people dancing accompanied by laughing faces in the background we see a correlation between his quotes above and this piece. Therefore, one can conclude that Renoir painted mostly beautiful and attractive art. Unfortunately, for some artists, the reality of life isn't so beautiful. One of the most talented, yet mentally ill artists of all time was Vincent Van Gogh. He was also from the 19th century belonging to the post–impressionists.
