Obstacle In My Life
The biggest obstacle in my life comes from sports failure; my unfulfilled basketball dreams and ambitions. From as young as I can remember, I
have always wanted to play NCAA Division 1 basketball and eventually professional basketball in the NBA. My whole life has been devoted to
basketball and becoming the greatest player I can be. I've had to sacrifice a social life, time with family, and many other things to be in the gym
training almost every day to get better. Three years ago, I started played in tournaments in the USA with high hopes of being recruited, but not one
coach showed interest in me. In January 2015, when the deadline for applications were due, I was devastated because not only was I losing sight of
my dreams, it felt like

Overcoming Obstacles In My Life
In my life, I have had many obstacles to face but the main one that has always made a huge impact in my life has been the death of my father. When I
was just six years old, my father passed away in a car accident and back then it didn't mean much to me but soon enough my thirteenth–year old
self–learned what it really meant. It was the start of my teenage years and it definitely was not a good beginning to me. I became very depressed
due to my emotional connection to my father since I then learned what it really meant not to have him with me there. He wasn't there to kiss me
good night or even warn me off, boys. It was just my brother, my mom and me. It felt lonely at times and I just needed him there, someone to make
me laugh and smile like he always did. It was downhill for me there, I became physically sick too and just didn't want to do anything. It felt like
hours were years and I was stuck in my own hell. Nothing ever made sense in my life, especially being locked away in my room with books and
music but it was the only thing that felt right. Days passed by and I just kept getting worse until I was taken to a psychologist. It did help talk about
it for a little while but after it, all will go back to me feeling down and well this time I only learned to hide it better from...show more content...
It felt like the light was taken from me and now I'm just this little girl in a big black scary world and no one can see me, can see the real me. That's
when I realized that I was so deep there that I was going crazy, my thoughts were betraying me and all I could think about was just feeling
something, anything at all. But I didn't want that, I didn't want to go that way and that's when I saw. I saw how bad it had gotten. I saw that if I
didn't change my ways, then I would not live to see the next day. I saw that I had to change. I had to be someone in the world, for them. For my

Overcoming Obstacles In My Life
In an instant you can lose something or someone that meant a lot to you. To others it may not seem to be all that significant but for you it is. It
was in the summer of 2011 that I saw my dreams go down the drain in an instant, not knowing if I would be able to resurrect them. Sports wise I
had been through many obstacles, but this was one obstacle, both mentally and physically, that I would never forget. As soon as I could walk, my
parents got me heavily involved in sports. It began with t ball, evolved to soccer, and ended with volleyball. You know how they say when
something is right for you, you can feel it in your bones? Well that's exactly how I felt toward volleyball. Being a little kid, I always kept to myself
and rarely interacted...show more content...
I tried to confide in my friends but they could have cared less; to them my dream was simply a petty dream. One night I was upset because
everyone had gone to a volleyball clinic to work on their skills and I was unable to attend. I cried and thankfully my parents overheard me. They
came into my room and spoke nothing but encouragement, they even brought my goal book that I had made as a sixth grader to remind me to not
give up due to a little set back. That one talk was better than any pep talk any coach could and would ever give me. For the rest of the summer I
crutched around the house and gave my ankle as much rest as I could. The night before school started I packed my knee pads and court shoes into a
bag and informed my mom that I was still going to try out. Although she thought I was crazy, she gladly offered to drive me. The next day I crutched
into tryouts, strapped on an ankle brace extra tight, and walked onto that volleyball court (in excruciating pain of

Obstacles In Life Essay
Throughout people'sВґ lives,we often times try to find ways to overcome the obstacles that we may face. Sometimes we learn from them, but
sometimes we even run from them. As a kid, I had a hard time of understanding how to behave at school. I honestly didn't know what my problem
was, but bad things continued to happen. It was until one year that I decided that I would face my obstacles and get my act together and learn how to
behave. When I was around age 5, I started playing basketball. Basketball was everything to me.I would go outside everyday and play until the sun
went down. I started out in UPWARD until I got to the age limit, so I startedschool ball when I got old enough. School ball was very different from
UPWARD. In school ball, you actually had to play defense and play hard, or else your teammates would get upset at you. We would have practices
before and after school to improve on our skills for upcoming games. It was fun and challenging, but I enjoyed it because I was very athletic and active.

I made the team and was very excited. We would have a game every tuesday and thursday against surrounding schools. After the season started , I
began to start getting in trouble in class for talking back to the teacher and principals. Sometimes I would get in trouble for just talking to people in
class while the teacher was at the front of the room teaching or trying to tell the class about the next assignment. My coach finally had enough and
decided to kick me off of the basketball team. It was a very depressing moment for me.Getting kicked off of the basketball team broke my heart. It
gave me the time to think about what I did that resulted in horrible consequences. The consequences of my bad behavior made me realize that I had to
start making better decisions or my choices could make a huge impact on my future athletic

Depression is a mental illness. When i was going through those hard times i didn't want to tell anyone nor seek help. It's a very scary and personal
topic to talk about with others. I remember there were days where I just wanted to stay home and not do anything all day. I would barely even eat
and sometimes i would go days without food and lil water. I had lost 15 pounds in the time i was suffering with depression. One day my best friend
decided to have a talk with me about the whole depression. She talked about it to me in a way where i didn't get offended or hurt in any way. She
really helped me get through that hard time in my life and i am truly gratetful for

Do People Have Obstacles In Life?
'' There are going to be many obstacles in life, and we won't know what to do with them.'' Many people go through obstacles in their life while they
are getting to where they want to go. If it's a death in a family, bad grades, or just them thinking they can get through it. We all will get through
them even if we think we can't. Obstacles can be a good thing in our life or a bad thing and could ruin us. People go through obstacles in life that God
has given us to test on to see what choice we will make, and to see if it will be good or bad. Also, on how we will react on the fact that we are stopped
in our everyday life to deal with this obstacle. Obstacles that god could give people are a death in the family, anxiety, depression or any other

Life Obstacles
Life is a series of obstacles. As a person who likes to be in control, it is very stressful when I lose my grip on a situation. When I was in middle
school, my younger brother was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. Out of panic and desperation, I began to look for ways to cure him. As I
realized the seriousness of the situation and the futile nature of my activities, I became extremely frustrated. With my family in turmoil and my brother
the focus of my parents' attention, I looked for an outlet to quell my nervous energy.
One of my friends who played the piano invited me to her recital. I was intrigued. Following the recital, I spoke with her calm and patient piano
teacher, who saw the daily struggles my brother encountered and offered

Essay on Obstackes and Challenges in Life
Life is something that is much more complex than anyone can imagine. No matter who the person is or how old they are, everyone faces various
obstacles and challenges that make their lives difficult. Some people are faced with physical limitations such as not being able to pick something up
or walk up a flight of stairs while others may be faced with mental limitations such as being unable to comprehend something that's going on. Two of
the toughest points in an individual's life come during the years of adolescence and late adulthood. These points of a person's life can be
overwhelming and stressful as a person tries their best to grasp the changes occurring before their very eyes. Adolescence is often a time where drastic

A movie that defines many of the issues adolescents are faced with is Rebel Without a Cause. For example, when Jim Stark repeatedly asks his
father "what do you do when you have to be a man?" we see how Jim is dealing with Erikson's stage of identity versus role confusion. Still only in
high school, Jim is trying to figure out what stage in his life defines him as a man by his family and culture. He finds that although he may be
gaining more privileges year by year, he is still under the control of his parents. There are also examples of risky behavior in this movie when Buzz
challenges some thugs to a knife fight and when the teenagers engage in a game that involved jumping out of a car as late as possible before it
goes over a cliff. Part of their logic behind doing this, as explained in the previous paragraph is because their brains were not yet fully developed
and they felt as if they were indestructible. Lastly, there is also an example of peer pressure in the movie when Jim decides to engage in the knife
fight after the thugs call him a "chicken". Jim wanted to show his friends and others around him that he was not afraid to turn down a challenge and
would do anything to beat these thugs, even if he secretly had some doubt in his mind. There are also other examples of peer pressure such as when
the teenagers

Overcoming Obstacles Essay
Overcoming Obstacles What is life? Life consists of experiences, challenges, and achievements; all of which are building blocks that essentially
create ones path to success. In one's lifetime they can experience tough and difficult challenges. Sometimes these challenges become unbearable,
especially when the odds are against you. However, going against all odds is something everyone is capable of doing, and to overcome these
challenges everyone needs to have a "never quit" attitude in life. If we develop it, we'll overcome quite a bit. Many people all around the world face
challenges and obstacles every day in their daily lives. One man in particular is Nic Sheff; a man who was a drug addict and wrote an autobiography
called...show more content...
Society doesn't usually think of drug addicts as "good people" and they end up losing their respect and reputation as they grow up. If these teens
and young adults don't change who they are when they are young, they won't be able to fix themselves as they grow older which can be a bad
influence. Bad habits start as a kid and if you don't change those habits you won't be able to when you get older! Many people face challenges and
obstacles at a very young age and that can change who they are as they grow up. My grandma faced a very harsh and unfortunate childhood. Her
father died when she was 17 and that changed her life and her future. It meant she was given many responsibilities since she was the eldest out of
her siblings. She had to do many house chores such as cooking, washing the clothes and dishes and waking up early in the morning to get water
from a nearby well every day! This placed a very large obstacle in her life at a very young age. She had to leave school at a very young age because
of all the responsibilities she was given and had to overcome these obstacles and face them with great integrity. But due to these obstacles that she
has overcome, it has changed who she is now. She struggled in life right from when she was just a little kid. But if she hadn't overcome these
obstacles she wouldn't have been a very independent woman like she is today. If her father hadn't died when she was young, she probably would have
had a completely different

Examples Of Obstacles In Life
Life is hard, but not impossible. I believe everyone has to go through the worst to be able to overcome its best. I've faced many obstacles in life from
leaving my mother behind in the Dominican Republic to having to work at a young age in able to provide for myself.
I left the Dominican Republic at age 5. My mother sent me along with my father to the U.S. for a better being. There were more opportunities and a
better future for my brother and me here. At the time, I didn't have remembrance. Ever since then my life has been full of obstacles. Having to leave
my mother behind at that age seemed customary to me until I started having recognition. As I grew older, everything became very remote and missed
my mother day–to–day.

Overcoming Obstacles
"Nothing upon earth is without its difficulties! It is the secret impulse within, it is the love and the delight we feel, that helps us to conquer obstacles,
to clear out new paths, and to overleap the bounds of that narrow circle in which others poorly toil," Johann Goethe. Obstacles in life are unavoidable,
as expressed in the above quote, but we can still learn from them. Barriers can primarily help you develop the capabilities to do everyday things.
Furthermore, everyday challenges can help spice up your life. At the same time, bumps in the road can help you to be able to achieve your future plan.
Obstacles are important to overcome as they give your life skills, prepare you for the future, as well as make your life more interesting. Barriers in
your life can help enrich your life skills. Although obstacles may be tough to overcome, they will end up making you a stronger individual. Life
skills are useful for making decisions. First, to achieve an obstacle there needs to be a plan. To have a plan you will need to have a schedule and
stick to it. For example, in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle one would need to have a schedule for working out. This will ensure that they reach
their full potential in fitness. Second, a positive attitude is key. This includes positive self talk, and encouragement. For instance, one would need
to use language such as "you can do it," or "keep it up." Third, to achieve your goal start with little tasks and work your way up to larger one. As a
US Marine once said "start with the little tasks and work your way up to the larger ones." For example, making your bed in the morning shows how a
small effort can help keep your room tidy. Obstacles provide valuable life skills when you take the time to overcome them.
Everyday challenges can prepare you for the future in all aspects of your life. For example, gaining an excellent education would aid you to get 65%
or higher in core subjects, to earn a place certain high school classes, or to help select what you might want to choose for a job in the future. Another
example is dealing with relationships. Relationships would help you prepare for the future since it would teach you how to overcome emotional

The Difficult Obstacles Of My Life Essay
There have been many difficult obstacles in my life where it could be hard for me to just talk about one thing. Not knowing where you would start
can also be difficult. Never let situations bring you down. It began when my mother had my most established sister by a mischance and on
September 18, 1997 I was naturally introduced to this world, not comprehending what it had in store for me. I was told when I left the womb my
father was not there because of him being detained. When we finally met I was a one year old. He then tried to build a relationship with me.
Before long, me and my father developed a bond inside that year. We did what most father and daughter would do. We watched movies, went out
to eat, and played with one another. At the point when that year passed by he had vanished again. I then discovered that he was sentenced to
twelve years in prison. I deliberate to myself, "How could this be"? We had recently met each other. A long time had passed and my mother began
to see another person. This man was exceptionally decent and he treated my mother and us with respect and affection. Time is beginning to slow
down for my dad; despite everything he has three years left in prison. As years went by, my father was still incarcerated . My mother was presently
on her fourth child and the man that I will soon be calling my step father had at long last proposed to my mother. It was no hope that my mom and
will ever get back together again. I thought possibly this was

Obstacles
Everybody in this world has disadvantages and obstacles throughout life, however those disadvantages and obstacles can be turned into something
good. Disadvantages can vary , whether you play sports , or you're an actor. You can make that disadvantage your determination to prove people wrong,
and let them know you can succeed with or without disadvantages.
In the sports world many people judge you by your physical body, and many people can have disadvantages. For example, in football supposedly
you have you have to be really big and strong because of the physical contact there is in the game. However a lot of us mexicans aren't really big
because of our genes. Even Though the disadvantage we have can prevent us from being great, we have proved many people wrong. The disadvantage
of being short can be used as determination to prove that you don't have to be certain size to play what you love. As a football player myself and with
the disadvantage of being short, I have proved many people that my height will not stop me from playing at the highest level in high school. I used all

Consequently, because of the obstacles I went through when I was small it has determined me to work hard and study because I don't want to live
poor the rest of my life and I wouldn't like for my kids to suffer what I did. This effects me in a positive way because i'm not going to slack off in
school due to the situation I am ,and want to get out of. As a result, hopefully I get to graduate from college and receive a good paying job so that I
can finally get out of poverty. Summary is that the obstacles I went through as a kid have determined me to be a good student and excel so that I can

My biggest obstacle in my life was my weight. I was not going to let it defeat me as I was going to defeat it. Through hard work and dedication I

Obstacles And Circumstances In Life Essay
Obstacles, conflicts, and circumstances in life, all often seen as hindrances in one's life. These things can often hurt people and their futures, but they
can also lead to a change in person's view or personality. Some obstacles and circumstances that shaped my life were my inability to talk to people, my
mother's sickness, and my dependency on other people.
As a child I often moved between schools, cities, and sometimes even houses as my parents had gotten divorced when I was fairly young. I moved
about twice a year since second grade and there were often times I was unable to make friends and the times I did, we were unable to stay in touch
after I left. I became hesitant to meet with new people as I continued to move, it seemed pointless at the time since I would end up moving. When I
got to middle school I was able to re–meet friends I had made years before in...show more content...
During the winter of sixth grade my mother had told us she was sick, and that she would not live long. We were surprised, she was our mother, what
would we do without her? We had realized that despite the fact that the news had greatly affected us, as afamily we were not very close. Although we
had realized that even if we hadn't been close before or that we didn't have a lot of time to be with our mother, it was important that we be with her as
much as we can and make the most of it. Throughout the months following my mother's news about being sick, we started to volunteer and help out in
different areas and events. My mother wanted to be there for others less fortunate than her, regardless of her situation and treated it like a family outing.
We became closer and I started to understand why my mother did what she did. Fortunately, my mother survived the time she had been given, but even
after she had gotten better we continued to volunteer and became more

Overcoming Obstacles In My Life
As a naГЇve of Richmond City I have struggled through many obstacles. The biggest obstacle I have faced is observing the children in my family
suffer from lack of parenting skills and as well as the absent of a figure in the home. From my personal experience, I did not grow up with my
biological father in my household, but instead my grandparents stepped in to assist my mother with my upbringing. However, my grandfather
dropped out of school in the third grade to work on a farm that his parents owned; without an education the only job he able to obtain and keep was a

2. Describe an obstacle in your life and how you overcame that obstacle.
–An obstacle I face in life is talking too fast. Since I could talk, I always talked really fast. At time,my family can't understand what I'm trying to say.
This obstacle is one that I am still trying to overcome. The ways I try to overcome this challenge is trying to speak slower. I can accomplish this by
thinking of what I want to say first and then saying it. In trying to overcome this problem, I learned that I can't ramble off my words in a single breath.
I learn that I have to take a pause in between

Obstacles In Life Analysis
In life we encounter trials and tribulations that cause us to become stressed, bitter, depressed, and sometimes, on the verge of giving up. We may
even want to give up a dream that we have worked our entire lives to accomplish. These difficulties can seem as if they are holding us back when
they are actually building us into the people that we will aspire to be. Life can sometimes be full of large obstacles, but with persistence and
ambitious minds, we can exceed our own expectations. By learning to overcome these obstacles we can learn to grow and thrive. In order to do this,
I believe, persistence and hard work is crucial. In my life I have learned to work hard to accomplish my dreams. I started this at an early age when I

I struggled to comprehend everything that was being taught in class. Remembering what my teacher had said in the first week of class, I decided
to attend my first help session. It was on a cold and foggy October morning. As I walked into the classroom, I realized that I was the only student
there for help. My teacher told me that she was so happy that I came because she could tell that I was struggling. During the help session, she was
able to assist me with the problems that I was having. She never gave me the answers. Instead, she gave me the tools that I needed to solve the
problems on my own. This method of teaching was tremendously beneficial to my needs as a student. I learned that I would require these help
sessions to enhance my learning in this class. As I have said previously, I struggled with math from an early age. I continued to struggle with
Pre–Calculus. Knowing this, I attended the help sessions each day that they were offered. This required a lot of self discipline and persistence on my
part. I was active in several extracurricular activities and I also held a part time job my junior year. So I had to juggle many things in my life to be

Personal Narrative: My Obstacles In My Life
There are many obstacles that you are faced in life. One of my biggest fences in my life is being short. I am not that tall and it effects me in all the
sports that I am in. Being short may not seem like a major issue, but it can create many challenges in my life. This is not something that I can change
about myself therefore it is hard to overcome. This affects me the most in the sports that I play.
In basketball being short is a very large disadvantage. It makes it even worse when you are a post. I am not able to compete with girls that are 6'5''.
Even if I jump I will not even reach the tip of their fingers. Usually I am judged my my height before people see me play, which can be frustrating as

Obstacle In My Life

  • 1. Obstacle In My Life The biggest obstacle in my life comes from sports failure; my unfulfilled basketball dreams and ambitions. From as young as I can remember, I have always wanted to play NCAA Division 1 basketball and eventually professional basketball in the NBA. My whole life has been devoted to basketball and becoming the greatest player I can be. I've had to sacrifice a social life, time with family, and many other things to be in the gym training almost every day to get better. Three years ago, I started played in tournaments in the USA with high hopes of being recruited, but not one coach showed interest in me. In January 2015, when the deadline for applications were due, I was devastated because not only was I losing sight of my dreams, it felt like Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Overcoming Obstacles In My Life In my life, I have had many obstacles to face but the main one that has always made a huge impact in my life has been the death of my father. When I was just six years old, my father passed away in a car accident and back then it didn't mean much to me but soon enough my thirteenth–year old self–learned what it really meant. It was the start of my teenage years and it definitely was not a good beginning to me. I became very depressed due to my emotional connection to my father since I then learned what it really meant not to have him with me there. He wasn't there to kiss me good night or even warn me off, boys. It was just my brother, my mom and me. It felt lonely at times and I just needed him there, someone to make me laugh and smile like he always did. It was downhill for me there, I became physically sick too and just didn't want to do anything. It felt like hours were years and I was stuck in my own hell. Nothing ever made sense in my life, especially being locked away in my room with books and music but it was the only thing that felt right. Days passed by and I just kept getting worse until I was taken to a psychologist. It did help talk about it for a little while but after it, all will go back to me feeling down and well this time I only learned to hide it better from...show more content... It felt like the light was taken from me and now I'm just this little girl in a big black scary world and no one can see me, can see the real me. That's when I realized that I was so deep there that I was going crazy, my thoughts were betraying me and all I could think about was just feeling something, anything at all. But I didn't want that, I didn't want to go that way and that's when I saw. I saw how bad it had gotten. I saw that if I didn't change my ways, then I would not live to see the next day. I saw that I had to change. I had to be someone in the world, for them. For my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Overcoming Obstacles In My Life In an instant you can lose something or someone that meant a lot to you. To others it may not seem to be all that significant but for you it is. It was in the summer of 2011 that I saw my dreams go down the drain in an instant, not knowing if I would be able to resurrect them. Sports wise I had been through many obstacles, but this was one obstacle, both mentally and physically, that I would never forget. As soon as I could walk, my parents got me heavily involved in sports. It began with t ball, evolved to soccer, and ended with volleyball. You know how they say when something is right for you, you can feel it in your bones? Well that's exactly how I felt toward volleyball. Being a little kid, I always kept to myself and rarely interacted...show more content... I tried to confide in my friends but they could have cared less; to them my dream was simply a petty dream. One night I was upset because everyone had gone to a volleyball clinic to work on their skills and I was unable to attend. I cried and thankfully my parents overheard me. They came into my room and spoke nothing but encouragement, they even brought my goal book that I had made as a sixth grader to remind me to not give up due to a little set back. That one talk was better than any pep talk any coach could and would ever give me. For the rest of the summer I crutched around the house and gave my ankle as much rest as I could. The night before school started I packed my knee pads and court shoes into a bag and informed my mom that I was still going to try out. Although she thought I was crazy, she gladly offered to drive me. The next day I crutched into tryouts, strapped on an ankle brace extra tight, and walked onto that volleyball court (in excruciating pain of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Obstacles In Life Essay Throughout people'sВґ lives,we often times try to find ways to overcome the obstacles that we may face. Sometimes we learn from them, but sometimes we even run from them. As a kid, I had a hard time of understanding how to behave at school. I honestly didn't know what my problem was, but bad things continued to happen. It was until one year that I decided that I would face my obstacles and get my act together and learn how to behave. When I was around age 5, I started playing basketball. Basketball was everything to me.I would go outside everyday and play until the sun went down. I started out in UPWARD until I got to the age limit, so I startedschool ball when I got old enough. School ball was very different from UPWARD. In school ball, you actually had to play defense and play hard, or else your teammates would get upset at you. We would have practices before and after school to improve on our skills for upcoming games. It was fun and challenging, but I enjoyed it because I was very athletic and active. ...show more content... I made the team and was very excited. We would have a game every tuesday and thursday against surrounding schools. After the season started , I began to start getting in trouble in class for talking back to the teacher and principals. Sometimes I would get in trouble for just talking to people in class while the teacher was at the front of the room teaching or trying to tell the class about the next assignment. My coach finally had enough and decided to kick me off of the basketball team. It was a very depressing moment for me.Getting kicked off of the basketball team broke my heart. It gave me the time to think about what I did that resulted in horrible consequences. The consequences of my bad behavior made me realize that I had to start making better decisions or my choices could make a huge impact on my future athletic Get more content on HelpWriting.net

I have gotten through many obstacles in my life that have changed me as a person. When you succeed at something you become very proud of yourself and even honored. I have over–came my shyness and insecurities and developed much more confidence. I was a very shy, awkward girl. I was scared to do most things, I even got annoyed when i had to talk to people or even present infront of the class. I remember dreading just thinking about having to go up infront of the class and going to events. I became, very scared to do anything with people around me. Then one day i decided to change my group of friends, I tried to communicate with new people. I was very nervous at first, but then i got the hang of it i became very close with those new people. They have really helped me be the best type of person i can be. When i was going through those hard times i didn't want to tell anyone nor seek help. It's a very scary and personal topic to talk about with others. I remember there were days where I just wanted to stay home and not do anything all day. I would barely even eat and sometimes i would go days without food and lil water. I had lost 15 pounds in the time i was suffering with depression. One day my best friend decided to have a talk with me about the whole depression. She talked about it to me in a way where i didn't get offended or hurt in any way. • 6. Do People Have Obstacles In Life? '' There are going to be many obstacles in life, and we won't know what to do with them.'' Many people go through obstacles in their life while they are getting to where they want to go. If it's a death in a family, bad grades, or just them thinking they can get through it. We all will get through them even if we think we can't. Obstacles can be a good thing in our life or a bad thing and could ruin us. People go through obstacles in life that God has given us to test on to see what choice we will make, and to see if it will be good or bad. Also, on how we will react on the fact that we are stopped in our everyday life to deal with this obstacle. Obstacles that god could give people are a death in the family, anxiety, depression or any other Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Life Obstacles Life is a series of obstacles. As a person who likes to be in control, it is very stressful when I lose my grip on a situation. When I was in middle school, my younger brother was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. Out of panic and desperation, I began to look for ways to cure him. As I realized the seriousness of the situation and the futile nature of my activities, I became extremely frustrated. With my family in turmoil and my brother the focus of my parents' attention, I looked for an outlet to quell my nervous energy. One of my friends who played the piano invited me to her recital. I was intrigued. Following the recital, I spoke with her calm and patient piano teacher, who saw the daily struggles my brother encountered and offered Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Essay on Obstackes and Challenges in Life Life is something that is much more complex than anyone can imagine. No matter who the person is or how old they are, everyone faces various obstacles and challenges that make their lives difficult. Some people are faced with physical limitations such as not being able to pick something up or walk up a flight of stairs while others may be faced with mental limitations such as being unable to comprehend something that's going on. Two of the toughest points in an individual's life come during the years of adolescence and late adulthood. These points of a person's life can be overwhelming and stressful as a person tries their best to grasp the changes occurring before their very eyes. Adolescence is often a time where drastic changes...show more content... A movie that defines many of the issues adolescents are faced with is Rebel Without a Cause. For example, when Jim Stark repeatedly asks his father "what do you do when you have to be a man?" we see how Jim is dealing with Erikson's stage of identity versus role confusion. Still only in high school, Jim is trying to figure out what stage in his life defines him as a man by his family and culture. He finds that although he may be gaining more privileges year by year, he is still under the control of his parents. There are also examples of risky behavior in this movie when Buzz challenges some thugs to a knife fight and when the teenagers engage in a game that involved jumping out of a car as late as possible before it goes over a cliff. Part of their logic behind doing this, as explained in the previous paragraph is because their brains were not yet fully developed and they felt as if they were indestructible. Lastly, there is also an example of peer pressure in the movie when Jim decides to engage in the knife fight after the thugs call him a "chicken". Jim wanted to show his friends and others around him that he was not afraid to turn down a challenge and would do anything to beat these thugs, even if he secretly had some doubt in his mind. There are also other examples of peer pressure such as when the teenagers Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Overcoming Obstacles Essay Overcoming Obstacles What is life? Life consists of experiences, challenges, and achievements; all of which are building blocks that essentially create ones path to success. In one's lifetime they can experience tough and difficult challenges. Sometimes these challenges become unbearable, especially when the odds are against you. However, going against all odds is something everyone is capable of doing, and to overcome these challenges everyone needs to have a "never quit" attitude in life. If we develop it, we'll overcome quite a bit. Many people all around the world face challenges and obstacles every day in their daily lives. One man in particular is Nic Sheff; a man who was a drug addict and wrote an autobiography called...show more content... Society doesn't usually think of drug addicts as "good people" and they end up losing their respect and reputation as they grow up. If these teens and young adults don't change who they are when they are young, they won't be able to fix themselves as they grow older which can be a bad influence. Bad habits start as a kid and if you don't change those habits you won't be able to when you get older! Many people face challenges and obstacles at a very young age and that can change who they are as they grow up. My grandma faced a very harsh and unfortunate childhood. Her father died when she was 17 and that changed her life and her future. It meant she was given many responsibilities since she was the eldest out of her siblings. She had to do many house chores such as cooking, washing the clothes and dishes and waking up early in the morning to get water from a nearby well every day! This placed a very large obstacle in her life at a very young age. She had to leave school at a very young age because of all the responsibilities she was given and had to overcome these obstacles and face them with great integrity. But due to these obstacles that she has overcome, it has changed who she is now. She struggled in life right from when she was just a little kid. But if she hadn't overcome these obstacles she wouldn't have been a very independent woman like she is today. If her father hadn't died when she was young, she probably would have had a completely different Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Examples Of Obstacles In Life Life is hard, but not impossible. I believe everyone has to go through the worst to be able to overcome its best. I've faced many obstacles in life from leaving my mother behind in the Dominican Republic to having to work at a young age in able to provide for myself. I left the Dominican Republic at age 5. My mother sent me along with my father to the U.S. for a better being. There were more opportunities and a better future for my brother and me here. At the time, I didn't have remembrance. Ever since then my life has been full of obstacles. Having to leave my mother behind at that age seemed customary to me until I started having recognition. As I grew older, everything became very remote and missed my mother day–to–day. Although life Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Obstacles provide valuable life skills when you take the time to overcome them. Everyday challenges can prepare you for the future in all aspects of your life. For example, gaining an excellent education would aid you to get 65% or higher in core subjects, to earn a place certain high school classes, or to help select what you might want to choose for a job in the future. • 12. The Difficult Obstacles Of My Life Essay There have been many difficult obstacles in my life where it could be hard for me to just talk about one thing. Not knowing where you would start can also be difficult. Never let situations bring you down. It began when my mother had my most established sister by a mischance and on September 18, 1997 I was naturally introduced to this world, not comprehending what it had in store for me. I was told when I left the womb my father was not there because of him being detained. When we finally met I was a one year old. He then tried to build a relationship with me. Before long, me and my father developed a bond inside that year. We did what most father and daughter would do. We watched movies, went out to eat, and played with one another. At the point when that year passed by he had vanished again. I then discovered that he was sentenced to twelve years in prison. I deliberate to myself, "How could this be"? We had recently met each other. A long time had passed and my mother began to see another person. This man was exceptionally decent and he treated my mother and us with respect and affection. Time is beginning to slow down for my dad; despite everything he has three years left in prison. As years went by, my father was still incarcerated . My mother was presently on her fourth child and the man that I will soon be calling my step father had at long last proposed to my mother. It was no hope that my mom and will ever get back together again. I thought possibly this was Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Disadvantages can vary , whether you play sports , or you're an actor. You can make that disadvantage your determination to prove people wrong, and let them know you can succeed with or without disadvantages. Through hard work and dedication I was going to lose weight. This act helped me prepare for life situations and never back down from any task. I had been dealing with a weight issue my whole life. What I had to really determine is would it change who I am. Would this burden stop me from being who I am? When I got to be 270 pounds my freshman year I decided it was time for a change. I was done letting my body win. I was unhappy about what I had made of myself. The time had come for a very big change. The summer of freshman year is where my journey began. • 15. Obstacles And Circumstances In Life Essay Obstacles, conflicts, and circumstances in life, all often seen as hindrances in one's life. These things can often hurt people and their futures, but they can also lead to a change in person's view or personality. Some obstacles and circumstances that shaped my life were my inability to talk to people, my mother's sickness, and my dependency on other people. As a child I often moved between schools, cities, and sometimes even houses as my parents had gotten divorced when I was fairly young. I moved about twice a year since second grade and there were often times I was unable to make friends and the times I did, we were unable to stay in touch after I left. I became hesitant to meet with new people as I continued to move, it seemed pointless at the time since I would end up moving. When I got to middle school I was able to re–meet friends I had made years before in...show more content... During the winter of sixth grade my mother had told us she was sick, and that she would not live long. We were surprised, she was our mother, what would we do without her? We had realized that despite the fact that the news had greatly affected us, as afamily we were not very close. Although we had realized that even if we hadn't been close before or that we didn't have a lot of time to be with our mother, it was important that we be with her as much as we can and make the most of it. Throughout the months following my mother's news about being sick, we started to volunteer and help out in different areas and events. My mother wanted to be there for others less fortunate than her, regardless of her situation and treated it like a family outing. We became closer and I started to understand why my mother did what she did. Fortunately, my mother survived the time she had been given, but even after she had gotten better we continued to volunteer and became more Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Overcoming Obstacles In My Life As a naГЇve of Richmond City I have struggled through many obstacles. The biggest obstacle I have faced is observing the children in my family suffer from lack of parenting skills and as well as the absent of a figure in the home. From my personal experience, I did not grow up with my biological father in my household, but instead my grandparents stepped in to assist my mother with my upbringing. However, my grandfather dropped out of school in the third grade to work on a farm that his parents owned; without an education the only job he able to obtain and keep was a carpentry job, which he held for 65 years. My grandmother also dropped out of school in the twelfth grade and later returned to obtain her General Education Diploma (GED) and a Commercial Driver License (CDL) to help her obtain a position with a nursing home. My...show more content... Based on my observation I see that many of family members never got the opportunity to complete high school due to their environment or personal issues. When I was in the twelfth grade my little brother and baby cousin were born three months apart. From watching them both grow up I begin to notice they would ask me to read to them, help them with numbers and letters and now they're learning to write. It amazes me how they both looked up to me as their role model; I never thought that I can be someone's role model. I want to become an Occupational Therapist and I am taking the necessary steps to work towards my goal. As previously stated, I graduated from Open High School with an advanced studies diploma and now I am currently enrolled at Virginia Commonwealth University majoring in Science on the track of Occupational Therapy. With this degree, I will be able to provide everything possible for my siblings without worrying about the stress of student loans. I can't imagine my life without Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Remembering what my teacher had said in the first week of class, I decided to attend my first help session. It was on a cold and foggy October morning. As I walked into the classroom, I realized that I was the only student there for help. My teacher told me that she was so happy that I came because she could tell that I was struggling. During the help session, she was able to assist me with the problems that I was having. She never gave me the answers. Instead, she gave me the tools that I needed to solve the problems on my own. This method of teaching was tremendously beneficial to my needs as a student. I learned that I would require these help sessions to enhance my learning in this class. As I have said previously, I struggled with math from an early age. I continued to struggle with Pre–Calculus. Knowing this, I attended the help sessions each day that they were offered. This required a lot of self discipline and persistence on my part. I was active in several extracurricular activities and I also held a part time job my junior year.
