t is welcoming news that Lok Sabha has passed a
Imuch-awaited Women’s Reservation Bill, giving them
one-third or 33% of seats in Lok Sabha and state
assemblies. However, what women truly deserve is long-
deprived and constantly denied equality amidst society.
Even after a millennium, they have been denied what is
birth-rightfully theirs. Yet, the first step toward realising a
dream of an equal society has just been taken.
Behind this achievement lies the longest battle of countless
mighty women leaders, stalwarts, freedom fighters, social
reformists, barrier breakers, convention challengers, and
stigma disruptors. Dynamic Women Leaders like Savitribai
Phule, Sindhutai Sapkal, Tarabai Shinde, Pandita Ramabai,
Anandibai Joshi, Kadambini Ganguly, and many more.
What they all share in common is that they achieved
success and freedom by getting educated first in a society
where they were never allowed to get their basic human

Dr Singh’s journey from a mother to a dynamic leader has
been long and exceptional. Regaling the saga of her
entrepreneurship, Dr Singh recalls that earlier in the days,
she came across a beautiful quote by an avid visionary who
happens to be the then president of India, Dr APJ Abdul
Kalam. He said, “A dream is not that which you see while
sleeping; it is something that does not let you sleep.”
She adds, “These words had a profound impact on me. I
started by following my passion to give back to the
community through education – a pathway to reach the
masses. I started my journey as an educationist and made
steady changes to the institution and the sector, thriving for
perfection. I decided to be resilient, go through all the ups
and downs, and facing every twist and turn to finally end up
at the establishment of Avirat Project Solutions.”
For Dr Singh, venturing into the corporate world stems
from a desire for professional growth, new challenges, and
applying educational leadership skills in a larger setting to
have a broader horizon of impact. The inspiration to be in
the education industry arises from a deep passion for

fostering learning, shaping young minds, and making a
lasting impact that would be a stepping stone for the future
of our country. She also thinks she can play a pivotal role in

As we read earlier, those who know her greatly admire Dr

qualities. According to her, any admired leadership skills
consist of a good blend of empathy, effective
communication, and visionary thinking. Being a mother
also helps acquire skills such as being someone who

culture. “When you are in an industry that deals with a
younger population prone to mischief, you become quite
adept at problem-solving resilience and carve a path
ensuring it to be student-centred,” she says.

Additionally, being a mother, a leader, and an author while
working in the education sector becomes a USP when it
provides Dr Singh with a multifaceted perspective on the
hiccups faced and strategically thinking of the solutions.
Empathy and understanding are enhanced, enabling a
deeper connection with her peers and the students and
relieving the parents of having a leader who makes student-
centric judgements. Juggling multiple roles throughout the
day demands exceptional time-management skills and being
able to organise the day beforehand.

Singh says that as a leader, one stands out through a

envision the future and also to integrate cutting edge
technologies in decision making while adhering to the fail-
safe methodologies available to us,” she says, adding that
she prefers to emphasise on emotional intelligence and
character building of the peers enhancing their readiness for
complex professional and social environments as the world
moves towards a knowledge economy.

Being an experienced leader, sharing her opinion on
technology, Dr Singh says that adopting modern
technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine
Learning (ML) profoundly impacts almost all industries.
Such advancement has led to a very personalized learning
experience for the educational and corporate sectors, which
has been unheard of till now. Virtual assistants streamline
administrative tasks, allowing important aspects to be in the
spotlight and be addressed head-on. Artificial intelligence
and computerization have become very helpful in large data
calculation. Nonetheless, human expertise remains pivotal
in interpreting data nuances and strategic planning.
“However, we must ensure a balance between tech
integration and human connection to preserve the essence
of humanity and a sense of community that lingers in the
workplace.”
Fostering Gender-Equal Environment
Dr Singh feels that being in any industry currently, as a
female leader, one is bound to encounter various challenges
that would highlight the requirement for more discussion
and understanding of gender equality and diversity. The
scarcity of female role models at higher echelons further
complicates the issue and limits women's representation.
She adds, “I prioritize self-awareness and self-confidence,
focusing on my abilities rather than succumbing to
stereotypes.” Adhering to and promoting gender diversity
and creating an environment where skills are recognized
irrespective of gender. She encourages open dialogues with
colleagues and family to maintain a healthy equilibrium.
Ultimately, her resilience, continuous learning, and
collaborative efforts contribute to breaking down gender-
related barriers and fostering an environment where
women leaders thrive.
Invaluable Perspectives
Dr Singh insists that dynamic women leadership is crucial
in today’s industrial environment. “As our world becomes
increasingly interconnected and diverse, the perspectives
and skills female leaders bring to the table are invaluable.
We have seen micro industries to macro and even nations,
for that matter, flourishing under women's leadership.”
Housing several essential traits that she thinks are very
important in today’s complex, fast-paced, and global
platform in which we all function. A woman as a leader
would serve as a powerful representation and a symbol of
inspiration to millions of women in future. With AI, remote
work, and digital platforms becoming more prevalent,
barriers related to traditional workplace structures may
erode, allowing women to showcase their leadership
potential on a global scale.
Cultivating Deeply Passionate Wisdom
Dr Singh’s advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is to have
immense passion and perseverance and think strategically.
‘It takes a lot to cultivate a deep passion for the industry
you wish to enter. Entrepreneurship is built on failure as a
stepping stone rather than a full stop. Learn from your
mistakes, adapt swiftly, and remain resilient in the face of
adversity. Networking with mentors, experts, and potential
clients is an essential process of building an empire.
While networking, always clearly articulate your vision,
value proposition, and brand story to resonate with
customers, investors, and stakeholders.’
Creating the Mighty Leaders of Tomorrow
Finally, she believes that looking ahead as a woman leader
means working in ways that help everyone. One important
thing is ensuring everyone is treated fairly and equally, no
matter who they are. “I wish to learn new skills and
methods and technological advancements.” The things and
tools would allow and empower her to give back to the
community.
Collaboration will remain a cornerstone. Partnering across
sectors and industries will foster holistic solutions to
complex challenges. Dr Singh ends her discussion with an
enlightening hope, “As a leader, I wish to mentor and
empower the next generation of women as a matter of
paramount importance, nurturing a pipeline of capable
leaders.”

experience, sourced from uniform suppliers typically
catering to school attire.
Thus emerged the concept of Sashafé. She adds, "Through
this venture, we introduced an unprecedented fusion of
designer apparel into the world of e-commerce and brick-
and-mortar stores, offering medical garments that align with
the dignity and comfort deserved by healthcare
practitioners."
The trajectory from Laser Dentistry to Sashafé marked a
significant transformation. And now, the journey continues
with Grace Up Grooming. This latest endeavour involves
comprehensive grooming services, catering to medical
professionals from head to toe.
Dr Sana explains, "As you can see, all three of my
businesses concentrate on healthcare, which is not only my
area of expertise but also my actual calling." Her expertise
in this field is widely known. Whether it's dentistry or
medical care, Dr Sana is a renowned figure whose goal is to
consolidate all of her endeavours in this field.
Sashafé Designer Boutique is the counterpart to Laser
Dentistry, both of which are pioneers in their respective
fields. She furthers that they spearheaded the establishment
of the first boutique in India and the launch of Grace Up
Grooming. The desire to be at the vanguard of
revolutionary undertakings has been a persistent motivator
throughout Dr Sana's journey, highlighting her commitment
to pioneering inside each enterprise she pursues.

industries. "Though being equally capable or even more
potential in some areas, it took a long time. I had to put in
double the effort and work hard twice to establish my
worth, as women in business are not taken as seriously as
men. Throughout my journey, I expressed my worth
gracefully and with full dignity, never passing up an
opportunity to show myself. The journey may not be easy
for a woman. However, it is very important to take up
everything that comes your way with full sobriety, patience
and by maintaining decorum, and then you become
ceaseless.”
Constant Learning Advise
In her advice to budding entrepreneurs who aspire to
venture into any industry they wish to, Dr Sana says, "Let
me warn you that failure is unavoidable for prospective
businesses. There will be times when you feel lost, as if
there is no way forward." You might even consider giving
up completely. However, one thing must never be forgotten:

Ÿ Persevere indefinitely.

"Allow me to share an example from my own life. I began
as a dentist but quickly moved into entrepreneurship despite
having no professional business school, finance expertise,
or marketing knowledge. I actively engaged in learning as I
began my entrepreneurial adventure. I enrolled in classes
and pursued a master's degree in business principles." The
point is that your initial skill set—whether in cooking,
design, dentistry, or another field—will not ensure success

other business. Your venture may fail unless you develop
expertise in marketing and business management.

and, most importantly, maintain an unshakeable dedication

Future on Autopilot
On envisioning moving ahead in the future, Dr Sana's goal
is to transition her business into a self-sustaining autopilot
state. “My ultimate goal is to live a peaceful and joyful life
in which I can devote myself to organic farming, assisting
others, providing valuable business ideas, and educating
others. I also want to write a definitive book on lasers,
similar to a laser-focused Bible, to fill a void in the field of
laser technology and dentistry.”
Her aim is not only to give knowledge but also to guide and
nurture folks for free, leveraging her expertise and
experiences to help them thrive as successful entrepreneurs.
Furthermore, like the bright rays of a laser, Dr Sana wants
to spread optimism through charitable acts. "While we are
not an NGO, our crew is actively involved in philanthropic
initiatives, providing care to orphans and vital therapies,"
she mentions.

wishes to go to new places and embark on excursions to
provide care and education to underprivileged areas. Her
ultimate goal is to create a life where her businesses run on
autopilot, giving her the time and leisure to pursue these

life, confident that her financial affairs are well-managed
and her future is safe.
"This imagined life is one I hope to embrace when I hit my
forties and beyond. I intend to gradually reduce my
professional obligations while closely monitoring my
activities. As time passes, the thought of living on autopilot
becomes increasingly appealing, providing a tool to support
my hopes and aspirations," she adds.

when they grow up. However, Farah Sarosh, the
CEO of NurtureLife, had it all figured out since

Farah stands different from a lot of others because she had a

the process of positive change in society must begin at
home. In her opinion, one must bring meaningful change in

domain of her social work. She was in AMU when Farah’s
hostel mate ended her own life due to depression. “It was
after this unfortunate incident that I decided to work for
Mental Health Awareness,” shares Farah.
The Challenge: The lack of awareness of mental health in
our society was a challenge that Farah had to face. She
observed the lack of meaningful conversation or any efforts
whatsoever to educate the masses about mental health.
Though she was not one to give up, Farah took these
challenges head-on. And aided by innovation and
dedication, she founded NurtureLife–a not-for-profit
organization that provides actionable solutions to a range of
mental health problems.
“My vision for NurtureLife has been to take mental health
awareness to the grassroots of our society, where mental
well-being is hardly a topic for discussion,” states Farah.
She wanted Nurture Life to provide a platform that
motivates people to discuss the problems of inner conflict
that ails them. NurtureLife conducts a variety of activities
in the fields of Emotional Intelligence, Suicide Prevention,
and other problems relating to mental health.
Farah adds, “My mission with Nurture Life is to eradicate
the stigma around issues relating to mental health in our
society. Behind each of my efforts toward mental health is
the intention to tell people suffering from mental health
issues that they’re not alone and there’s still hope.”
Through Nurture Life, Farah has taken mental health
awareness to millions by conducting events in the USA,
Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, East Africa, and
other countries.
In an interview with WomenWorld India, Farah spoke in
detail about her own experiences, accomplishments,

What qualities and values do you think your colleagues,
caregivers, and patients admire in you the most?

To me, a good co-worker is someone who their co-workers
love being around. They want to see their group thrive and
achieve the organization's objectives. An excellent co-
worker is enjoyable to be around, too. We ought to respect
our teammates and have a positive outlook. We have greater

I've heard from my team members a lot about a couple of

voice out mental health concerns and provide relevant and
practical solutions to people facing difficulties. We
generously extend our hands toward people in need of
mental health support.
It's noteworthy to bring to light one of the strongest factors
that strengthen the roots of NurtureLife, which is our
motive to cater to the needs of all segments of the
population, age, sex, etc., thereby uplifting and empowering
the neglected strata of the society.
NurtureLife is a perfect example of ‘tackling global
problems through global lenses.’ We work in collaboration
with multiple countries like the USA, KSA, Nepal,

Storm Within,’ a film that aptly captures the issues of mental
health and suicide prevention.
It is remarkable for us how NurtureLife significantly
contributes to the youth’s mental health and personality
development through its intensive internship programs. The
interns work on ground-level problems while
simultaneously burnishing their oratory, communication,
presentation, and leadership skills. We give the full freedom

Being an experienced leader, share your opinion on how
the adoption of modern technologies like AI and ML
impacts the Not-For-Profit space and how NurtureLife
is leveraging these technologies.
Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) are
on the cusp of being integrated into every business as a
result of technological advancements, and education is no
exception.
Learning can be tailored for pupils with AI-enabled. Data
has been seen as a valuable primary knowledge resource in
recent years as a result of the development of machine
learning. Due to the significant increase in demand for
AI/ML from the IT sector and favourable employment
prospects, more students are enrolling in the course.
We are using such technology as a tool to improve our
commercial strategies. To increase accuracy and
productivity, we have used AI and Machine Learning in
everything from counselling to academics. Automating and
streamlining repetitive procedures save a lot of time and
money.
NurtureLife has taken advantage of this technology
particularly to reach every nook and corner of the world
during and even post covid scenarios. It helped us in
conducting various events and activities throughout the two
years when fieldwork had to be abandoned.
It was through technology that NurtureLife reached
different places, regions, and nations. It has helped us in
furthering our work in collaboration with people and
organizations of these regions/places. Technology has aided
us in expanding our work to a global level.
Considering the current scenario, what kind of
challenges do you face, and how do you drive
NurtureLife to overcome them?
Nobody wants to discuss mental health, let's face it. The
stigma is stifling and alienating, and the subject is still
taboo. The stigma surrounding mental health results from a
lack of knowledge about mental illness (ignorance and
disinformation), as well as from prejudice on the part of
some people.
This may result in prejudice against those who suffer from
mental illness. Inaccurate stereotypes about those who have
mental illnesses, the sensationalization of situations through
unnecessary references to mental illness, and the use of
aggressive or derogatory language are all ways that the
media can contribute to the perpetuation of a stigma.
You or a loved one might be dealing with a mental illness,
but because they fear being judged or, worse, losing their
jobs, many people are reluctant to discuss it with anyone.
NurtureLife is constantly working towards overcoming
these difficulties. We are constantly promoting Mental
health literacy, which is important for reducing stigma. In
different ways, we tried people to talk about mental health
issues openly. We ran campaigns to educate people on
mental health, to make people realize to understand general
the concept of mental well-being and the difference
between mental health and mental illnesses.
Furthermore, we conduct sessions to help people learn to
practice kindness and compassion, and had organized Free
Mental Health Screening. The main aim of our organization
has always been to encourage the youth to participate and
volunteer in Awareness Events.
What would be your advice to budding Sociopreneurs
who aspire to venture into the Non-Profit sector?
I think there are a few essential strategies for becoming a
Sociopreneur. One has to decide what philanthropy means
to them. Working for a social cause should be your passion.
When we work for a social cause one has to be solution-
centric.
If we don't have this approach there's no use in choosing
this field. Because it's a nonprofitable field; one has to think
like an investor and have the ability to take risks. There are
so many areas to work in this field, one has to find areas of

interest to get involved. This field needs a lot of self-
motivation. One should know how to help themselves in
hard times and embrace their Passion for social good.
Empathy is the key to success.
According to you how Women Business Leaders can
make an impact in furthering the Non-Profit drive in
society?
A company's commitment to social responsibility depends
on the leadership of women. I believe that women are more
considerate of the feelings of their employees, and as a
result, they make them feel comfortable by encouraging
them to discuss anything.
Despite being the only person to do a job or work, women
frequently refer to their accomplishments as ‘we’ when
speaking about them. Women in business possess skills that
have the potential to change workplace norms.
I feel women tend to lead with compassion, integrity, and
respect, which differs from the way males typically do.
Compared to men, they display greater empathy and
compassion. I believe we women successfully juggle our
personal and professional life.
We, therefore, urge our teammates to multitask and choose
priorities because they can do so. This helps a lot in
challenging the traditional gender roles and helps society
move forward by bringing in the awareness that both
household and work can be managed, especially by a
woman, if the priorities are set and followed.
How do you envision scaling NurtureLife’s services and
offerings in the future?
Considering the needs of the existing problems of society,
especially with the youth’s mental health, we want to
strengthen and expand. We focus on becoming a one-stop
shop for mental health. Being a Sociopreneur one of the
most important aspects of what we do for our organization
is to spend enough time to envision the organization’s
future and make it a continuous process.
Envisioning what the organization should look like and
where I should focus to get there is not always easy to
determine. To be successful, we have to understand how to
develop and execute long-term, value-creating strategies.
Developing foresight is necessary, although not always easy
or obvious.
SWOC: To stay in the market, the NurtureLife team
performs a SWOC (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities,
Challenges) analysis on regular basis.
Know what we don’t know: One of the most common
errors I have seen in the process of envisioning an
organization’s future has to be the failure to understand
there are things we don’t know. Making assumptions can
lead to significant errors in judgment. To stay updated is the
utmost need for me especially being a leader.
Identify problems and risks: I enjoy investing, and one of
the key areas I focus on before making any decision is to
understand the potential problems and risks. We should also
think about what problems our clients will face going
forward. It is very important to find creative solutions to
challenges that allow us to develop unique and strong future
solutions in our area.
Understand our differentiators: To be successful we have
to offer a unique solution or service that our competition
cannot easily provide. This is the basis of differentiation
and the path to greater success we have to ensure and
understand how our organization will be different in the
future.

The most successful organization creates the market
demand. With the technology we have available today, even
a small company can transform the market and be a

Dynamic Women Leaders to Watch in 2023
Dreaming in life and living in your dream is a
journey every dreamer must walk on their own.
Surely there will be umpteenth challenges,
obstacles, and hurdles on the way to transforming that
dream into reality. Again the dreamer would meet storms of
adversities and avalanches of difficulties.
However, if the dreamer’s foundation of dream is integrated
into their very being, then they will ultimately emerge
triumphant. The foundation of Vanitha Joshi’s entire
journey of becoming an award-winning Interior Designer,
MD, and Founder of D’Canvas, was her eternal love for
colours.
It’s been three and a half years since Vanitha discovered her
passion by learning and pushing herself to the extent where
she learned through all her flaws and firms. Vanitha recalls,
“The initial days of designing during my internship were
filled with challenges from long hours of work to scrapped
designs.”
Feeling Passion’s Fierce Fire
The desire to have her own design space and freedom of
creativity with limitless possibility turned into Vanitha’s
passion. Passion is not about what you love or just dream
of; rather, it is what can push you to all the extents and fight
for it.
Vanitha adds, “I used to feel my passion to work for myself
and its fierce fire every day.”
Freelancing is how the journey began and being able to
make her client’s imagination a reality gave Vanitha’s
passion its ultimate moment of compassion. “That’s how
D’Canvas was formed, and it’s been six years already, still
feeling like yesterday,” shares Vanitha.
Inspiration would be the thought where she wanted to
deliver luxury with affordability—trying to make middle-
class people’s dream homes a reality. “Architecture and
design is the art we live in,” reflects Vanitha.
The Learning Curve of the Design Journey
This journey of design is a learning curve with newer
advances and technology—the ability to accept failure and
learn from that moving forward. Not limiting the thoughts
and continuing striving for newer innovations is the
simplicity of this story.
Vanitha’s phase of struggle is still in her and her work
because she is that woman entrepreneur who has started
from one project design and today has successfully
completed 24+ projects as a success story scripted in her
life’s book.
Vanitha feels, “Struggle teaches us a lot.” Without them,
there is no success written. The struggle was not easy; she
started with design, executing, and delivering the same to
clients was most challenging and, of course, troubled with
managing all simultaneously.
Forging Her Mettle in Challenges Crucible
Challenges were the real content of all of her times. Being a
beginner in interior design, it was a great challenge for
Vanitha when she was expected to sketch her ideas and
plans as per her clients’ needs and match their ideas.
After all, executing the ideas by mismatching both minds
presented her work. “Clients’feedback is always important
for me. They uplifted me from what I’m already, to the next
pick,” says Vanitha.
Individually handling the entire designing to supervising
process and the execution has been Vanitha’s most common
challenge in this journey. Being a woman entrepreneur
comes with its own set of challenges ranging from gender
dominance, age-based experience etc.
Transparent Artistry in the Zing of Luxury
Yet her Honesty, Punctuality, and Value for Money with the
Zing of Luxury are the professional qualities and values
admired by Vanitha’s clients in her and D’Canvas. “Beyond
these would be the bond built with my client eventually
turning out like a newfound family through the process,”
she adds.

Achievements are essential as they encourage one to move
forward to the next level. When Vanitha was shortlisted in
the top 100 design diva 2018 and 2019 and awarded as the
Youngest Interior Designer, she was on the ninth cloud. She
had never thought of these remarks before. “These awards
were handed to me by the famous big boss winner and
celebrity Gauhar Khan. I started delisting on my fears and
negative comments heard before,” comments Vanitha.
Tech Emergent Sustainable Designs
Projecting her ideas with the 3D models of international
quality is Vanitha and DCanvas’s USP. These models aren’t
readily available in India to date. The models are created
with the highest quality renders, almost mimicking the
actual space.
“The satisfaction of the client is of utmost importance to
me,” adds Vanitha, “At D’Canvas, we encourage emerging
technology and a step towards sustainable design, which
every individual designer in their projects should practice
making a better living.”
A Forest Full of Wisdom
For all the budding aspiring artists and entrepreneurs, the
only message Vanitha wishes to forward is to do what your
heart says and follow what you want to do because just
dreaming is not enough; living the dream makes a
difference. Work on it till you don’t touch the margin to
enter in.
“Having passion is a must; for me, it is a zeal which drives
me to never give up on my goals to achieve and get it to the
next move,” expresses Vanitha. Everyone should have that
one of their own passion that lets them work on it day and
night, putting all their effort and hardship into it. That’s the
only way to turn one’s dream into reality.
“Again, when it comes to Role models, they give us an
immense outlook on what we too can do to achieve and live
our dreams to the fullest,” says Vanitha. Her role models are
Zaha Hadid and Gauri Khan; both are perfect blends of
designing a space from canvas to reality. One can match
their dreams to the real world by uplifting
themselves–putting their role models in their eyesight.
The Strongest Foundation of Family Backup
Every phase of Vanitha’s professional journey has taught
her to grow, and still, it is the same story. Her father–the
iron man of her life–who understood her when her passion
needed to grow and came into the picture. Her friends and
family are her first vision of Honour, and without them
achieving her real passion would have been in vain.
Vanitha thinks that it is often difficult to get understanding
people around you, and she has been very fortunate in this
regard. She shares, “The massive strength was when I was
down with my nutrition level, during which I got 100%
support from my family. So yes, my journey has been with
them, and truest said, they are my back support.”
Turning Her Zeal into Her Passion
Regarding her future plans, Vanitha says that making plans
is necessary, but what you need to expect from yourself is
what leads to the next step closer to success. She reveals, “I
dream and work to achieve the title of Top 5 Youngest
Designer, and my designs make a difference to all the living
beings for a better living in luxury in a better project
management plan. This lets me work more and more
towards it.”

Learning can be tailored for pupils with AI-enabled. Data has been seen as a valuable primary knowledge resource in recent years as a result of the development of machine learning. Due to the significant increase in demand for AI/ML from the IT sector and favourable employment prospects, more students are enrolling in the course. We are using such technology as a tool to improve our commercial strategies. To increase accuracy and productivity, we have used AI and Machine Learning in everything from counselling to academics. The stigma is stifling and alienating, and the subject is still taboo. The stigma surrounding mental health results from a lack of knowledge about mental illness (ignorance and disinformation), as well as from prejudice on the part of some people. This may result in prejudice against those who suffer from mental illness. Inaccurate stereotypes about those who have mental illnesses, the sensationalization of situations through unnecessary references to mental illness, and the use of aggressive or derogatory language are all ways that the media can contribute to the perpetuation of a stigma. You or a loved one might be dealing with a mental illness, but because they fear being judged or, worse, losing their jobs, many people are reluctant to discuss it with anyone. What would be your advice to budding Sociopreneurs who aspire to venture into the Non-Profit sector? I think there are a few essential strategies for becoming a Sociopreneur. One has to decide what philanthropy means to them. Working for a social cause should be your passion. When we work for a social cause one has to be solution- centric. If we don't have this approach there's no use in choosing this field. Because it's a nonprofitable field; one has to think like an investor and have the ability to take risks.   • 30. interest to get involved. This field needs a lot of self- motivation. One should know how to help themselves in hard times and embrace their Passion for social good. Empathy is the key to success. According to you how Women Business Leaders can make an impact in furthering the Non-Profit drive in society? A company's commitment to social responsibility depends on the leadership of women. I believe that women are more considerate of the feelings of their employees, and as a result, they make them feel comfortable by encouraging them to discuss anything. Despite being the only person to do a job or work, women frequently refer to their accomplishments as ‘we’ when speaking about them. Women in business possess skills that have the potential to change workplace norms. I feel women tend to lead with compassion, integrity, and respect, which differs from the way males typically do. Compared to men, they display greater empathy and compassion. I believe we women successfully juggle our personal and professional life. We, therefore, urge our teammates to multitask and choose priorities because they can do so. This helps a lot in challenging the traditional gender roles and helps society move forward by bringing in the awareness that both household and work can be managed, especially by a woman, if the priorities are set and followed. How do you envision scaling NurtureLife’s services and offerings in the future? Considering the needs of the existing problems of society, especially with the youth’s mental health, we want to strengthen and expand. We focus on becoming a one-stop shop for mental health. Being a Sociopreneur one of the most important aspects of what we do for our organization is to spend enough time to envision the organization’s future and make it a continuous process. Envisioning what the organization should look like and where I should focus to get there is not always easy to determine. To be successful, we have to understand how to develop and execute long-term, value-creating strategies. Developing foresight is necessary, although not always easy or obvious. SWOC: To stay in the market, the NurtureLife team performs a SWOC (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Challenges) analysis on regular basis. Know what we don’t know: One of the most common errors I have seen in the process of envisioning an organization’s future has to be the failure to understand there are things we don’t know. Making assumptions can lead to significant errors in judgment. To stay updated is the utmost need for me especially being a leader. Identify problems and risks: I enjoy investing, and one of the key areas I focus on before making any decision is to understand the potential problems and risks. We should also think about what problems our clients will face going forward. It is very important to find creative solutions to challenges that allow us to develop unique and strong future solutions in our area. Understand our differentiators: To be successful we have to offer a unique solution or service that our competition cannot easily provide. This is the basis of differentiation and the path to greater success we have to ensure and understand how our organization will be different in the future. With the technology we have available today, even a small company can transform the market and be a disruptor.   • 39. Dreaming in life and living in your dream is a journey every dreamer must walk on their own. Surely there will be umpteenth challenges, obstacles, and hurdles on the way to transforming that dream into reality. Again the dreamer would meet storms of adversities and avalanches of difficulties. However, if the dreamer’s foundation of dream is integrated into their very being, then they will ultimately emerge triumphant. The foundation of Vanitha Joshi’s entire journey of becoming an award-winning Interior Designer, MD, and Founder of D’Canvas, was her eternal love for colours. It’s been three and a half years since Vanitha discovered her passion by learning and pushing herself to the extent where she learned through all her flaws and firms. Vanitha recalls, “The initial days of designing during my internship were filled with challenges from long hours of work to scrapped designs.” Feeling Passion’s Fierce Fire The desire to have her own design space and freedom of creativity with limitless possibility turned into Vanitha’s passion. Passion is not about what you love or just dream of; rather, it is what can push you to all the extents and fight for it. Vanitha adds, “I used to feel my passion to work for myself and its fierce fire every day.” Freelancing is how the journey began and being able to make her client’s imagination a reality gave Vanitha’s passion its ultimate moment of compassion. “That’s how D’Canvas was formed, and it’s been six years already, still feeling like yesterday,” shares Vanitha. Inspiration would be the thought where she wanted to deliver luxury with affordability—trying to make middle- class people’s dream homes a reality. “Architecture and design is the art we live in,” reflects Vanitha. The Learning Curve of the Design Journey This journey of design is a learning curve with newer advances and technology—the ability to accept failure and learn from that moving forward. Not limiting the thoughts and continuing striving for newer innovations is the simplicity of this story. Vanitha’s phase of struggle is still in her and her work because she is that woman entrepreneur who has started from one project design and today has successfully completed 24+ projects as a success story scripted in her life’s book. Vanitha feels, “Struggle teaches us a lot.” Without them, there is no success written. The struggle was not easy; she started with design, executing, and delivering the same to clients was most challenging and, of course, troubled with managing all simultaneously. Forging Her Mettle in Challenges Crucible Challenges were the real content of all of her times. Being a beginner in interior design, it was a great challenge for Vanitha when she was expected to sketch her ideas and plans as per her clients’ needs and match their ideas. After all, executing the ideas by mismatching both minds presented her work. “Clients’feedback is always important for me. They uplifted me from what I’m already, to the next pick,” says Vanitha. Individually handling the entire designing to supervising process and the execution has been Vanitha’s most common challenge in this journey. When Vanitha was shortlisted in the top 100 design diva 2018 and 2019 and awarded as the Youngest Interior Designer, she was on the ninth cloud. She had never thought of these remarks before. “These awards were handed to me by the famous big boss winner and celebrity Gauhar Khan. I started delisting on my fears and negative comments heard before,” comments Vanitha. Tech Emergent Sustainable Designs Projecting her ideas with the 3D models of international quality is Vanitha and DCanvas’s USP. These models aren’t readily available in India to date. The models are created with the highest quality renders, almost mimicking the actual space. “The satisfaction of the client is of utmost importance to me,” adds Vanitha, “At D’Canvas, we encourage emerging technology and a step towards sustainable design, which every individual designer in their projects should practice making a better living.” A Forest Full of Wisdom For all the budding aspiring artists and entrepreneurs, the only message Vanitha wishes to forward is to do what your heart says and follow what you want to do because just dreaming is not enough; living the dream makes a difference. Work on it till you don’t touch the margin to enter in. “Having passion is a must; for me, it is a zeal which drives me to never give up on my goals to achieve and get it to the next move,” expresses Vanitha. Everyone should have that one of their own passion that lets them work on it day and night, putting all their effort and hardship into it. That’s the only way to turn one’s dream into reality. “Again, when it comes to Role models, they give us an immense outlook on what we too can do to achieve and live our dreams to the fullest,” says Vanitha. Her role models are Zaha Hadid and Gauri Khan; both are perfect blends of designing a space from canvas to reality. One can match their dreams to the real world by uplifting themselves–putting their role models in their eyesight. The Strongest Foundation of Family Backup Every phase of Vanitha’s professional journey has taught her to grow, and still, it is the same story. Her father–the iron man of her life–who understood her when her passion needed to grow and came into the picture. Her friends and family are her first vision of Honour, and without them achieving her real passion would have been in vain. Vanitha thinks that it is often difficult to get understanding people around you, and she has been very fortunate in this regard. She shares, “The massive strength was when I was down with my nutrition level, during which I got 100% support from my family. So yes, my journey has been with them, and truest said, they are my back support.” Turning Her Zeal into Her Passion Regarding her future plans, Vanitha says that making plans is necessary, but what you need to expect from yourself is what leads to the next step closer to success. She reveals, “I dream and work to achieve the title of Top 5 Youngest Designer, and my designs make a difference to all the living beings for a better living in luxury in a better project management plan. This lets me work more and more towards it.” It is never going to be difficult if your zeal is your passion, and there’s no doubt you shall leave your mark.
