legacy through their mere personalities, admired by

success through their ability to be confident. A leader must
be confident, starting with self-confidence. A vote of
confidence turns the table because it gives us a feeling of
trust, and everyone wants to follow a leader whom they can
trust.
Successful leaders never imitate others but rather create

inspirational global icon Prof. Dr Parin Somani—Director
of the London Organisation of Skills Development—who
has been serving international societies through her
humanitarian work, boundlessly educating and motivating
the masses in an extremely dignified manner.
Her immense hard work and dedication has no bounds, as
she strives to serve societies by demonstrating excellence in
all her endeavours and enlightening the path for humanity
globally. Dr Somani is an Independent Academic Scholar,
Educator, TEDx Speaker, International Motivational
Speaker, Author, Writer, Humanitarian and Philanthropist.
Showcasing Sheer Excellence
Born in Maharashtra, Prof. Dr Parin Somani is an extremely
ambitious and compassionate individual who is dedicated to
helping the society she resides in. In her adolescence,
despite a societal stigma attached to women working in
India, Dr Somani worked in the media as a TV
presenter/Anchor in Ahmedabad Doordarshan. She used to
present her program at All India Akashvani Radio station in
Ahmedabad.
As a freelance journalist, she contributed to numerous
renowned newspapers like Gujarat Samachar, Sandesh,
Western times in English and Gujarati, Jai Hind, Estri and
Shree magazine and many more. At the age of 19, she wrote
her first book based on her passion for cooking, and it was
marked as a successful publication.
Thereafter, she was been asked to write for 10 more books,
in total 11 books were written at the age of 19 years and all
were published by Kothari publication at the age of 20
years, that was a remarkable achievement, she has achieved
at a very young age.
The skills she acquired during her adolescence helped her
when she moved to England and started working in the
financial industry within banking, dealing with the public
and consuming managerial responsibilities.
A Tale that Sparks Inspiration
Dr Somani is a survivor of life-threatening aggressive
cancer on two separate occasions. These experiences
changed her outlook on life. At this point, Dr Somani
established the two mottos in her life.
1. “It is my aim in life to serve mankind until my last
breath,” derived from surviving one of her life’s greatest
health challenges, awakening her to the preciousness of life
and the true value of oneness.”
2. “By working together, we can make a positive global
change.”

highlighted on global platforms.

Dr Somani’s entire life changed
rapidly as she suddenly lost her
vision (temporarily) and was diagnosed
with a life-threatening diagnosis. Moreover,
in March 2020, Dr Somani was infected by
COVID-19 and encountered another challenge.
She became very unwell; however, her resilience and
commitment to serving humanity continued. She strived to
address key issues and raise global awareness by educating
societies through personal experiences and research. During
the pandemic, Dr Somani went above and beyond to help
international communities.
Despite numerous health challenges, Dr Somani has
dedicated her life to serving humanity. She has been
eﬀective and continues to successfully inspire numerous
women globally, encouraging knowledge acquisition
through education and skill development. This has
improved the quality of their lives and will help beneﬁt the
lives of future generations.

She has helped educate more than 100,000 people
worldwide through her Humanitarian work during the
COVID-19 pandemic. Most recently, she was invited as the
Guest of Honour for “Shaheed E Azam Motivational Award
2021” by the hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra.
An Odyssey of Prominence
Dr Somani has published more than 100+ educational
papers and newspaper articles, magazine articles including
19 books, and was featured in more than 200+ videos and
390+ newspapers/books for her amazing societal
contribution. Dr Somani is working on announcing another
three books, which are about to be published soon.
Dr Somani has spoken at more than 207 National and
International webinars and conferences as Chief Guest,
Guest of honour, Inaugurator, Keynote Speaker,
Valedictorian, Chairperson, Presenter, and Interviewee. She
has presented at more than 185 online International
Webinars and Conferences during the COVID-19 pandemic
to date in governmental and non-governmental
organisations worldwide, delivering many lectures on
numerous topics.
With the aim to help global societies in the field of
Education, Women Empowerment and Youth Development,
Dr Somani travelled to more than 117 countries around the
world. She dedicates her life to the service of humanity and
shares her knowledge to build bridges between societies for
sustainable development.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, she contributed to
educating 100,000+ people globally through her
Humanitarian work and was invited to deliver her research
at Harvard University. Her strong desire to create
sustainable societal development and progress societies
towards positive change in the fields of Quality Education
(SDG 4) and Gender Equality, including Woman
Empowerment (SDG 5), has resulted in her being invited by
Governors of different Indian States and Governmental
dignitaries.
She was cordially invited for meetings with Karnataka’s
Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot in Bangalore, the Home
Minister of Puducherry A Namassivayam in Tamil Nadu
together with Embalam R. Selvam, the current Speaker of
Puducherry Legislative Assembly, the Governor of
Rajasthan Kalraj Mishra in Jaipur, the Governor of Goa
Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai and the Governor of Arunachal
Pradesh B. D. Mishra. Dr Somani has been inspiring
individuals, encouraging knowledge acquisition through
education and skill development.
On the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav 75th
Independence Day of India, held on 15th August 2022, she
was invited by Puducherry Chief Minister Natesan
Krishnasamy Rangasamy and other Government officials to
attend the Flag hosting ceremony in Puducherry, Tamil
Nadu. In addition, the Governor of Puducherry, Dr
Tamilisai Soundararajan, invited Dr Somani to the Raj
Nivas Tea party to launch a magnificent book ‘Bharat ni
Swatantrata na Prahorio’ (written by Prof. Dr Parin Somani)
in the presence of governmental dignitaries namely the
Puducherry governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan,
Puducherry Chief Minister Natesan Krishnasamy
Rangasamy, Speaker of Puducherry Legislative Assembly
Embalam R. Selvam, Home Minister of Puducherry A
Namassivayam and many others.
In this incredible book, Dr Somani recognises the selfless

Most recently, she visited a forgotten village in Jharkhand
(One of the Eastern States of India), the Jharia Gulgulia
Basti. She is supporting to build a school with local
authority to provide children with the education to succeed
in life. Dr Somani has thought about the children of society
and is building a training centre for adults with local
community. This will enable the adults to obtain the
required skills to support their children and earn their
livelihoods.
In contrast, Dr Somani has spoken at the Sparsh Geetanjali
cancer support group at Geetanjali cancer hospital in
Udaipur. She delivered a motivating talk to support cancer
patients who are undergoing treatment, teaching them not to
lose hope and faith.
Utilising her life experiences, Dr Somani has become a
beacon of light, paving the path to recovery for those
individuals ensuring they cultivate a positive mindset.
JDCA Dance Studio and Jinhal Foundation also invited her
to create history and be named in the Golden Book of
World Records, and she was invited as a chief guest to
speak at the grand event.
She was also invited as a special guest
to the Shining Rays Ms India cancer
warrior event, delivering a speech to
commemorate and inspire cancer survivors that
are competing in the beauty pageant. Dr Somani has
been supporting ﬁnding solutions to global
environmental challenges by planting trees with numerous
NGOs.
Dr Somani is educating societies through writing academic
literature on the importance of environmentally sustainable
development. Her initiatives to help humanity continues, as
she inaugurated the Campaign against Child Abuse with the
governor of Pondicherry. She has also inaugurated the
World’s Largest Kids Film Festival and inspired students to
become good leaders and honour their school through their
actions and achievements.
Challenging Life experiences can provide a source of
inspiration for others, facilitating them towards self-growth
and overcoming the struggles of life. TedX provides a
platform through which individuals can convey information
to live audiences to motivate and share ideas through
thought-provoking talks.

On 31st October 2021 in Jaipur, Dr Somani captivated the
audience as she spoke about how to ‘Manifest your dreams
into a reality’, through which she utilised her personal
experiences and valuable knowledge to inspire, motivate
and move the audience. She demonstrated resilience to
overcome major health challenges, turning negative
situations into positive life-changing opportunities and
encouraging the audience to ignite their spark towards
positive societal change and fulfilling their dreams.

Prof. Dr Parin Somani views her life as a train journey where she started at her departure point when she was born and
embarked towards her life’s destination. She quotes, “During my life’s journey, I stop at each station, but I never get off
the train; instead, many people get onto the train. Everyone who comes into my life or gets onto the train brings different
traits. When we mix ideas and share experiences, we can explore new perspectives and implement new concepts through
the infusion of diverse thought processes.
I do whatever I can for each person coming my way, to help them, educate them, inspire them, aim to learn something
new or even seek inspiration. Some people that cross my journey of life travel with me towards their destination, then
get off at the next station on their journey in transit, while others have stayed with me through my train journey, passing

I believe in karma. Life is a learning curve; we can learn something new at each stop. We should learn to be open,
accepting, and positive in our outlook on life. Of course, we will inevitably encounter challenges, but this will test and

Anahita Jawanpuria received her B.A.(Hons.) in
English from the Symbiosis College of Arts &
Commerce, Pune followed by an MBA in Human
Resource Management and Industrial Relations (HR&IR)
from the InternationalSchool of Business & Media (ISB&M),
Pune
Prior to her foray into entrepreneurship,Anahita spent over 15
years in various HR&IR management roles in the
manufacturing sector. In 2006, fresh out of management
school, Anahita started her corporate career at leading roller
bearing maker Timken India Limited and later in 2009 joined
premier steelmakerTata Steel where her last held position was
SeniorManager,HumanResources.
Anahita cut her teeth in entrepreneurship in the cloud kitchen
business. In 2021, she quit Tata Steel to found cloud kitchen
venture Kefi & Co. which specialized in continental and
European cuisine. Once she had set Kefi & Co on “autopilot”
mode, she turned her attention to her other passion, traditional

The idea, inspiration and concept
When Anahita set out to furnish her new apartment, she
decided to give its interiors an earthy Indian theme. She says,”
I absolutely love the raw elegance of earthy Indian handmade
items and rural Indian crafts. There is a certain charm in the
small imperfections of a handmade item which are ironically
a pleasure to the senses. The opportunity of furnishing my
home with handmade items had my head bursting with ideas
and wanting a bit more than what the market had to offer. It
occurred to me that there must be others like me of similar
taste who would be yearning for a wider variety in the market.
I felt there was room for new players who could cater to such
people and in general, widen the variety on offer in the
marketplace”. Having recced the market, spoken to friends,
acquaintances and having surveyed opinions at the
marketplace, she was convinced that there was indeed scope
and room for one more player in the Indian handmade
products market. The combined prospects of filling a vacuum
in the market and playing in a larger e-commerce enabled
business with huge potential to scale were very compelling
for hertostarttheTheSpring Story® inDecember2021.
HerLearningCurve
Starting up on a shoestring, no employees and no prior e-
commerce business experience, Anahita single-handedly
embarked on launching her online store to be named The
Spring Story®. She says, “I want my brand, products and
store to exude an uplifting spirit of freshness and positivity.
The spring season embodies this very spirit and therefore the
name.”. Anahita spent the next few weeks reading on the
administrative, regulatory, license and taxation requirements
of setting up a business. She then took online courses to
understand website hosting, e-commerce platforms, digital
marketing, inventory management and more. She quips,
“Phew! Looking back, I feel like I did a couple of MBAdegrees
in a few weeks!! I eventually hired professionals to build my
online store, manage digital marketing, maintain accounts
and handle taxation, but I have armed myself with enough
knowledge to ask the right questions, articulate clear
requirements and direct my team to give me optimal
solutions”.

Once the administrative aspects ofThe Spring Story® were in
place, Anahita focused her energies on product design,
packaging, logistics, online store design and what she calls,
“TheSpringStory®shoppingexperience”.She travelled

across India to meet potential vendors and collaborate on
designing the products. She says, “My focus is to ensure my
products are maximally designed in-house as against being
just a trader of stock products. For our block-printed product
design, I’ve spent days working with the color-master ji to
iterate on tens of color shades, evaluate multiple block art
designs and hours of sampling to try different permutation
and combinations in colour and design to narrow down on a
handful. Some of the designs are instant hits with the
customers and some, despite the careful curation, not as
much.”. In the first year,Anahita had to work through multiple
trial and error iterations to arrive at the right product mix. She
has been experimenting with neutral and palette colors,
feminine, abstract and universal prints and various fabrics to
create winning products. For blue pottery products, her
challenge has been to figure out the right mix of utilitarian and
purelydecorativepotteryproducts.
Selecting the right packaging was a tight rope walk as some of
the packaging solutions were comparable to the very price of
some of her products. “I was ready to take a hit on my margins
to not compromise on packaging quality or the buying
experience at my store. I want to build The Spring Story®
brand that is synonymous with premium shopping experience
across all facets including packaging, customer service, on-
timedelivery,hassle-freereturns andmore.”,addsAnahita.
Product Range
Hand-block printed home décor linen and ornamental
Rajasthani blue pottery were the first product categories
launched when The Spring Story® www.thespringstory.com
store went live in December 2021. Among the products are
hand-block printed bedsheets, bedcovers, cushion covers,
summer blankets (Dohars), quilts (Jaipuri Razai), baby
bedding items and handblock printed quilted pouch(bags).
Three months into her store launch, The Spring Story®
launched 925-Silver Jewelry products. The jewelry products
were instantly received in the market. The Spring Story®
reacted quickly to the response and widened the design range.

Milestones
For Anahita, every milestone has been fulfilling, be it
registering her company, receiving the export license,
registering the trademark, landing reliable vendors, hiring
website developer and digital marketing professionals,
launch of the online store, running the first ads on social
media, the first sale, the first international bulk shipment, new
product category launches. Anahita adds, “each of these
milestones were like those shiny golden boxes of elixir in a
video game that gave me the energy to tackle obstacles to the
next milestone. Its early days still and there is a long way to
go.”.
She says, “small businesses as The Spring Story® have to
find the sweet-spot between minimum inventory and having
a wide design range such that customers across a spectrum
of tastes can find something of their choice. This is a
continuous challenge, among others. It takes a lot of my
time talking to potential customers, store visitors and
people who fit my customer profile to understand their
preference, likes and dislikes to arrive at the optimal middle
