1. William Nordby project director
Bill Nordby serves as Project Director at Centaur. His zeal for academic and
practical education couples with his high-end real estate development and
construction experience, making him a significant asset to the Centaur Team. Bill is a recognized expert in the
industry for his thought leadership, providing him the platform to advance from a Project Manager role when he
joined Centaur to his current position representing the property owner and overseeing the entire construction
process on a 28-story luxury condominium development in downtown Chicago.
Using his skill and initiative, Bill oversees every aspect of his projects. That includes acting as Owner’s
Representative — protecting, advising and informing the owner proactively, from inception to completion of the
project. In addition, Bill has taken a lead role in advancing Centaur’s project management systems, including
implementing standard operating procedures for budgeting, bid management, and contracting. His efforts
have given Centaur a state-of-the-art project management infrastructure, freeing the Team to concentrate on
providing exceptional construction services.
Bill has received numerous awards and earned significant recognition as an outstanding scholar and
mechanical engineer. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the Department of Mechanical
Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois, Champaign/Urbana and is pursuing a Master Degree
in Construction Engineering and Management. As his responsibilities and training advance, Bill uses his
know-how and experience to enhance Centaur’s performance.
A practical effect of Bill’s time management skills is that he balances his demanding work schedule with a
rewarding personal life. His time away from Centaur is spent with his wife and young son, who seems to have
a future as a demolition contractor. A native Chicagoan, Bill frequents favorite spots such as the lakefront, the
museum campuses, and above all, the golf course.
