2008 Norwalk Marriott Hotel
Working as Director of Engineering, in my day to day duties, I made the
schedule for employees, always kept labor below budget, also made sure the
hotel has good coverage during busy times. I manage all repairs and tenet
improvements making sure there is top quality work being done in a timely
fashion. I have daily rounds of the building to spot problems as soon as
possible. I personally inspect the facility myself and follow up on all work
done in rooms. The guest experience is very important. I buy all items needed
for repair and always stay under budget. I decide what needs to be replaced
for capital improvements. I go over safety every week and always talk with
employees about how projects should be done safely. I have management
meetings every week, I make a list of things to be done, I prioritize things
as needed, we never know when things will break down. I work well with all
managers to get projects done as they need them. I also have worked very
closely with the Fire Department on the new fire system to get them working
correctly. I had new fossets installed in the kitchen wherever needed. I
fixed a plumbing problem that had been hurting this hotel for ten plus years.
Where there was no hot water to the middle rooms. I also brought this
Marriott up to a 91 rating for a Marriott Q&A inspection when they had failed
the two times Q&A was here before. I have brought all fire inspections up to
date. I have personally specked and replaced seventeen broken fire doors
myself. I have brought all of the elevator certs current. I found a way to
correct a problem with leaking a/c units in the rooms that had been here for
over twelve years. I have replaced some of the staff and trained all of them,
so they are a good team. I also have had a variable speed drive replaced on
our big trane a/c unit on the roof for the ballroom. I am working on getting
the laundry repaired now. I have epoxied the fountain in the front. I have
also stayed under budget for every month so far.
