2. Process
โข For my first experiment in my
video game project, I decided
to create a simple animation of
a door opening. I did this in
Adobe Photoshop, via a
combination of the timeline
creator in the program and the
use of multiple layers. In each
frame of the pixel animation, I
switched the focus of the
frame onto each of the
individual layers that I had
created, which depicted the
door progressing from being
completely closed to being
completely opened.
3. Reflection
โข Something that I've learned from this experiment and will use in my final
video game animation is animating something gradually going from one
state to another (such as a door going from completely closed to
completely opened) rather than just showing the door entirely closed one
frame to completely open in another frame.
4. Process
โข What I did here was create a
simple and primitive design
for a large dragon to be the
final boss of my 'game'. One
of the dragon's attacks is
opening its mouth and firing
a large blast of fire at the
protagonist (which either
deals a lot of damage) or can
be absorbed into the hero's
sword.
5. Reflection
โข One thing that I've learned from this experiment is how to have something (like a
huge beam of fire) come out of the mouth of something else (like a giant dragon)
and firing towards the ground (where the hero of the game is stood). I will do this
along with what I learned when animating the door opening earlier, and the
product I'll probably come out with is something like the fire-laser gradually
leaving the dragon's mouth and flying towards the hero of the game, who wields
a sword.
