4. Mood board notes (images)
• There isn't a lot of English language monster hunter magazines so I had to make do with
the Japanese ones. Despite this, the layout of the monsters/people are useful in the
Japanese magazines because it gives me guide line of how to design my monster list for
my fanzine. The only real problem with the Japanese magazines is that I can’t get
inspiration for the font.
• The background colours are a bit of a problem because I don’t particularly like the darker
colours because to me it makes the page kind of dull but I understand why they use it
because the monster tend to be very bright in colours so having a darker page helps the
monsters stand out. The brighter colours of the background for the weapon showcase
look a lot more appealing to me especially when they make the background look like an
old piece of paper. I will do two mock ups to help me decide. Edit* Just notice the darker
background have gradients on them while the lighter ones do not.
• The images of the monsters are the image I will use in my list of monsters page because
they are the highest resolution images that have transparent backgrounds. The ones with
backgrounds may be used to pad out the page if necessary.
6. Mood board notes (text)
• Most of the font types are for the title of the fanzine but I quickly realized that I
didn’t have any fonts for the main texts of the pages so I had to use some fonts
that are commonly found on every computer like Times New Roman.
• The fonts for the title were a bit problematic because up to now I haven't thought
about what the fanzine should be called so trying to find a fitting font was
difficult.
• The forum page is talking about what type of font monster hunter uses however
the links that they provide are blocked by college’s internet because it is
categorized as “games” which is a shame because I believe that this fanzine
would of benefitted from it. I put it on here anyway just incase I find some way
around it
• I wasn’t to sure on what font type to use for the body of the page and the image
example didn’t help since it was all in Japanese but I know that it needed to be
readable so I though it will be best to stick to some of the default fonts.
8. Mood board notes (colours)
• I'm not very good with my colour selection so this time I used a online
website called ColorMind to generate some colour schemes from
images. The images I use are all from Monster Hunter World.

would recognize the
name. Plus if I use this
name I can use their
