5. Attendance &
Punctuality
Punctuality:
• 0 lates = average of 0.49 above expected in each
subject
• 10 lates+ = average of 0.45 below expected in
each subject
Attendance:
• 93% attendance to school will give a students a 73% chance of achieving their GCSE target grades.
• Below 90% attendance will give students only a 27% of achieving their GCSE target grades.
• If attendance improves by 1%, attainment improves by 5-6% (DfE).

• Students will be set regular homework by
teachers to consolidate learning in the classroom.
• Parents can access via ‘Show My Homework’

• Provide a suitable environment for your child to work

• Log in to My Ed to track the conduct of your child
• Encourage your child to attend homework club if required
• Encourage your child to UNPLUG everyday
• Encourage good eating and sleeping habits
• Positive reinforcement and belief
• Promote high aspirations
9. Achievements
Each year in the summer term we organise a
rewards event to reward students who have
demonstrated impeccable standards throughout
the year.
Criteria:
• Attendance of 97% and above (extenuating
circumstances taken into account)
• Punctuality to school and lessons
• Conduct in and around the school
• Low number of and nature of behaviour logs
• Attitude to learning (based on progress
checks)
• Respect shown to students and staff
11. Progress checks
• We look at how pupils’ are achieving across all subjects.
• This is compared to what we feel that could be achieving based on
their CATs tests and reading ages.
• 1st Year 9 progress check will be in late November.
• We also look at attendance, behaviour logs and reward points.
• Interventions occur via departments, Mr Orton and form tutors.
