Reflective Essay On Self Reflection
In setting an intention for my practice throughout the semester, I knew that for it to be impactful it had to challenge me to further develop my
skills as a contemplative person both in and out of the classroom. I began the Fall 2017 semester without a particularly strong intention for
anything. Perhaps a simple intention to excel and get high grades in my new courses. An intention to meet new people and make friends. However,
soon enough, by the end of the 2nd week of the semester specifically, it was intuitively divined that I should set an intention to listen for my 49 day
project. More specifically then to just listen was a desire to allow other people, things, and situations communicating to me to be allowed to express
themselves authentically while feeling that they were genuinely being heard. I considered this to be a great intention for myself, because while it is
true, that on more than one occasion, I have been told that I am a good listener, that people feel I give them my full attention and am not thinking of
a response instead I'm attentively absorbing what they have to say. It is also true that many people consider me to be a very stubborn person that
doesn't allow feedback, criticism, or advice to change my course of actions. People feel that no matter they tell me, I don't change. I don't completely
agree with such assessments, but I do realize this could be an important area for my growth. Being able to listen, understand, and make people feel that

Reports were taken from CIPD, a research programme that focus on the future of HR. These reports such as 'HR in Tough Times' by Philip Sadler,
have helped me understand the main implications faced by Human Resources at the present.
One of the reports, the Annual survey report 2011 by Hays, I believe it contained very important information for my debate, although due to the lack of
time and understanding I was not able to fully read the report, this could have been more explored as it had important information for the research such
as, statistics which I have missed in all the debate. Statistics related to turnover, employment market were some I could have used for my research, also
should have mentioned more references during my speaking.
Delivery of Debate, Strengths and Weaknesses
Determining one's own strengths and weaknesses is a reflective process that is not always an easy task, although by knowing and gain an
understanding of my strengths and weaknesses is beneficial for my future projects.

During the course of the quarter, I feel that I have progressed somewhat. I've gained a lot of knowledge on rhetorical strategies and how to present
arguments effectively. In the writings I have written, I feel that each writing works towards meeting the course goals. Logos, ethos, and pathos were
strategies and ideas we were introduced to (if not already in the past) and were built upon throughout the quarter. The knowledge gained over the
course of the quarter weren't only those three types of appeals. Rhetorical strategies like proposals helped reinforce the course and using rhetorical
analysis in different situations have become easier throughout the quarter. I believe that I have made sufficient progress towards becoming a better

feel that I have made some progress in the course (mainly using logos, ethos, and pathos as a rhetorical strategy in this paper). My second pieces of
writings (two proposals) reflected my progress in the ability to to use feedback and revise my writings which was a course goal. In this case, many
rhetorical strategies were employed. Revisions weren't as simple as changing grammar and using correct punctuation (although that was something that
helped me grow as a writer). A change of style was implemented from my "Cornell–styled Box Project Proposal #1" to my revision. I also used
feedback I received to rewrite many parts of my rewrite. Effectively using feedback has helped me move towards the course goals since revisions
were never my strong point. This usually was because I never needed to do many revisions in high school and especially since high school was much
easier than now. Also, I progressed enough to understand how to use the pathos in one text and turn it into something entirely different yet arguing the
same things. "The strongest feeling I received from the text Inception is the cliched saying of

What Is Self Reflection Essay
Self– Reflection
Childhood is the best days of human life. We get love from everyone. Our needs and wants are fulfilled at any cost by our loved ones. But as we
grow, we remember a very few things that had happened in our childhood. So, when I got to do this assignment, I hurried to call my mom to know
how I was in my childhood. This assignment is based on self–reflection. Human self–reflection is the capacity of humans to exercise introspections and
the willingness to learn more about their fundamental nature, purpose and essence. Human self–reflection is related to the philosophy of
consciousness, the topic of awareness, consciousness in general and the philosophy of mind. One of the most important things for you to understand
about self–confidence is that it is a great and useful thing to...show more content...
For example, I wasn't talkative and I always want to be alone. Moreover, I was unfriendly with people other than my family. Physically, I was very
weak, so I was not that much active. I don't like strangers to enter my house even. Because of that, I don't have many friends. I even could not control
my anger. If I cried for something, I should get it somehow. All over I could say that my self–esteem was very low in my childhood.
Then comes my schooling days. When I started my school life, things got totally changed. I started making friends, physically I became active and my
self–confidence started to grow. I believe that, it might have been because of the changes in environment. When we go outside from our home we
socialized more as we made new friends, we learnt to cooperate with others. And we learnt to respect our elders and gained valuable skills and rules
from outside environment. All these things brought and built my self–confidence. I experienced the same things during my school

Having the opportunity to work with our client on home modifications over the past month was an enlightening experience. Not only did we learn how
to implement contextual interventions, we also were given the opportunity to practice building rapport, administering assessments (COPM and
SAFER–HOME), and developing our first evaluation report. Amongst this learning experience, the first step to making this summer fieldwork
successful was developing rapport with our client, B.K. As learned in our previous fieldworks, developing a trusting, partnered relationship is key to
creating a successful experience for not only you the therapist, but to assure the client receives the most benefits they can from the therapy. To build
rapport with B.K., we spent our first two sessions getting to know all aspects of B.K.'s life including her work, play and leisure interests, ADL and
IADL performances, social participation techniques and educational background....show more content...
as she shared about her story leading to her AKA, a strong relationship and rapport was built which created a reciprocal dynamic between B.K. and us.
Creating this positive, caring relationship allowed B.K. to be vulnerable to our contextual adaptation suggestions. After rapport was built, we used
visits three and four to identify potential adaptations she could benefit from. Through administration of the COPM, we noted which areas of
occupational performance she wanted to work on most. The SAFER–HOME allowed us to target which environmental barriers may have threatened
her safety and mobility in the home, thereby decreasing her occupational performance in some of the identified problem areas in the COPM. In
addition, task analysis of a wheelchair to bed transfer and her playing a card game allowed us to attain a better understanding of her performance
patterns and skills, which in turn fostered several potential adaptation

Dr. Hawking's Origin Of The Universe
"Self– awareness doesn't stop you from making mistakes, it allows you to learn from them". Self–reflection is an important factor in improving oneself.
In the past, the essays that I have written have mainly received positive feedback. Despite this, there is still much room for improvement in my
writing. Earlier in the semester, I was assigned an essay for my chemistry lab class. We were instructed to watch a video about Dr. Stephen Hawking's
theory on the origin of the universe and then to summarize the video in a 500–word essay. In my opinion, the essay I wrote titled "Dr. Hawking's
Origin of the Universe" was merely average. Although there were some very strong points made throughout the essay, it can be improved on in many
other areas. My strengths in this assignment were my use of accelerated vocabulary and the essay's strong conclusion. The weaknesses of my essay
were the vague nature of my explanations in addition to my lack of a works cited page. For the essay, we had to watch "Stephen Hawking's Universe –
The Story of Everything" and explain the video. The video can be found on Vimeo's website and is approximately 45 minutes long. The subject matter
covered in the video was the theory that the origin of the universe and all matter began with the Big Bang. The video also covered the theory of the
formation of the elements. Dr. Hawking, along with many other great scientific figures, believes that a celestial event known as the Big Bang
kick–started the formation

Core Skills Self Reflective Essay
Core Skills Self–reflective Essay In this essay I will go through the most important skills that I acquired in the last few years in relation to the ones
needed in the industry. In addition, I will also look at my weaknesses and what I can do to overcome them. Since I started my studies and up to this
date, I have learned a lot about what is required to work in the Aviation industry. There is a wide range of skills required, although most of them apply
to roles one can take on in the specific industry. In other words, some skills are more role–specific. Reflecting on my skills, I believe I have excellent
social, communication and language skills. These skills are essential in any customer–facing or team work oriented job. As explained by Morgeson, F.
P. et al. in "Selecting individuals in team settings: The importance of social skills, personality characteristics, and teamwork knowledge." (2005):
"Social skills are particularly important in team settings because working in teams increases the interdependence among workers, typically producing
greater conflict, workload sharing, and coordination demands than work that is performed independently..." I have always been a "people person"
and my communication with people is very good. It gives me great pleasure to make other people laugh and cater for their needs. It has never been
difficult for me to form new friendships and maintain existing ones. For instance, when I was in primary school, I had made a lot of friends, four

Self Reflection On Entrepreneurship
In this assignment I aim to self–reflect on my personal entrepreneurial skill.
According to the Cambridge dictionary self–reflection is 'the activity of thinking about your own feelings and behaviour, and the reasons that may lie
behind them'. Self–reflection is a crucial part of development, one of the reasons for this is because self–reflection enables you to review yourself. It
then becomes easier for you to evaluate your performance, this can be used to make improvements for the future.
Entrepreneurship
The Oxford dictionary define entrepreneurship as 'The activity of setting up a business or businesses, taking on financial risks in the hope of profit.' An
Entrepreneur consists of an individual who is both creative and innovative; I believe an entrepreneur is an open–minded individual; this enables them
to think of creative thoughts and ideas that they can use to set–up their own business/businesses. In order to put these creative thoughts and ideas to
good use they also need to be innovative. The 'Business Dictionary' states that Entrepreneurship is 'The capacity and willingness to develop, organize
and manage a business venture along with any of its risks in order to make a profit.' This supports the fact that as an entrepreneur you need to be
willing to take calculated risks, with the aim of prospering and therefore meeting aims and objectives. An entrepreneur needs to be able to handle taking
a loss; an entrepreneur would usually learn from this to enhance their skills so that less mistakes occur in the future.
Self–Reflection is crucial for development (Kolb, 1984)
In my previous education institution, a reflection was undertaken in teamworking. We worked as a team and set–up a project for a talent show. After
we accomplished this we handed out questionnaires to our audience (to gather feedback on how we performed); we were then able to use the
distributed questionnaire to gather more knowledge and understanding on various methods that we could improve for the future.
Hobbs and Kolb are authors who have a strong belief in reflecting on your work. As an entrepreneur this is crucial as it enables you to find any errors
that you may have made to then rectify them. An example of this is when I

Reflective Essay On Self Awareness
As individuals, we tend to formulate both positive and negative opinions of others based on personal experiences and life exposures. These exposures
help shape our belief systems and perceptions towards others. Our different perceptions cause us to generate biases and prejudices towards groups that
we might not always affiliate with. However, we are often not aware that we stereotype others and regard them in a negative manner. The realization of
the concept can be uncomfortable to grasp, which is why we often deny the beliefs all together. It is often believed that therapists have the required
knowledge to help different groups of individuals with an open mind, but that is not always the case. As a psychologist in training, I understand that the
first step to being culturally competent is to have self–awareness and recognize your own biases and prejudices. As an Iranian–American, I grew up
identifying with my Persian culture, but not with the religious aspect of being Muslim. My immediate family never stressed religious beliefs upon me
and I did not have exposure to the practice. In my hometown of Palos Verdes, I never witnessed individuals around me wearing hijab or affiliating with
the Muslim religion. It was not until later in my childhood that I met a member of my distant family who had strict religious viewpoints. During our
first encounter, I vividly remember how he refused to shake my hand because I was of the opposite sex and not in his immediate family. He had

Self Reflective Study
In comparing my behavior and my cognition, I noticed that I had small difference with regards to my study habits as I had two ineffective cognitions
and one ineffective and one effective behavior. I think the difference exists due to several factors that influence my cognitive process. The first is that
I was in a severe car accident many years and I have trouble remembering through rote reading and memorization. This has caused me to become
frustrated and self–critical, believing I cannot learn like other people. I have also found through this exercise that I have tied my self–worth to my
grades. I will need to accomplish several tasks to make them more congruent in a positive way. I will need to find a more effective way to study,
which will account for my impairment. The second task will be to develop a more set of positive cognitions. In order to accomplish this I will need to
find my learning style, which I now believe is a combination of aural and social. The second task will involve challenging my perceptions and
cognitions. I will accomplish this through making an honest self–assessment with the help of my mentor. My plan also includes making use of audio

I noticed a small difference between cognitions and behavior as I had two effective cognitions and one ineffective and one effective behavior. The
reason for the incongruity are my inability to set healthy boundaries and limit my care taking tendencies. To make these areas more consistent I will
first need to get a more positive view of boundaries. To accomplish this I will make a pros and cons list of boundary setting and care taking. One
thing I will need to be mindful of is the recurring fear of telling someone no. One thing for me to watch out for is recurring guilt over my past
parenting. I will safeguard this through talking to mentor when I am feeling fearful or

will like to keep taking ceramics. In addition to my curricular path, I will like to take a photography class, sculpture and a drawing

Importance Of Self Reflection
Research has been increasingly done on learning and self–reflect and its effectiveness, one of the first researchers' john Dewey stated, 'we do not learn
from experience... We learn from reflecting on experience.' John believed that deep learning comes from array of experience, reflection, abstraction,
and active testing. James Zull's (2002) fascinating book on the biology of learning, points out evidence that the learning cycles arises naturally from
the structure of the brain. Donald Schon also amongst the first to write about reflective practice with his exploration of experience, interaction and
reflection with his book 'the reflective practitioner' in 1983, Donald defines reflective practice as the practice by which professionals become receptive
of the implicit knowledge base and learn from their experience. 'The practitioners allowed Donald to experience puzzlement, surprise or confusion in a
situation which is found uncertain or unique. Self–reflection is like considering a mirror and describing what you see. The term refers to an activity or
process in which an experience is recalled, considered and evaluated to gain insight on oneself, ones valued or knowledge gained. The ability to reflect
on experience encourages insight and complex learning. In contrast, self–reflection is a process used to study one's own performance in order to
improve it. In order for one to succeed, it is vital to have knowledge of what each strengths and weaknesses are for self–development

Reflective Essay On Self Love
Self–Love
I believe one of the greatest breakthroughs in consciousness occurs when the person you love no longer loves you and decides to end the relationship
with you for good. You are so used to loving that person that when you enter that new chapter in your life alone, it almost seems as iflove is lost. You
start to wonder if it is even worth loving anyone else. As we all know, love is essential to one's well–being, but who can we truly love that wouldn't
stop loving us back? The answer: loving yourself. I believe self–love is the most important type of love anybody can have. It is possible for everyone,
but just like anything that is worth achieving, it requires hard–work.
I never knew the importance of self–love until it was the only choice I had. It was on the day of April 11th, 2016, that my 6–year relationship had
ended. The woman I had loved with all my heart left me in an empty apartment along with all the bills. At the time, I felt broken and worthless.
There I was sitting on the kitchen floor smoking a cigarette, replaying the heartbreaking event incessantly in my head. Miraculously, that same night
I had an epiphany. I had realized that over the course of 6 years, I was conditioned to love someone more than myself. The tears stopped running down
my face as a smile emerged. I was no longer in shackles. I was freed. Freedom had arrived, and I had felt like it was

time to make a change. For the first time in over half a decade, I trusted my intuition. Suddenly I knew what had to be done in order to shift out of the
co–dependent and depressing paradigms.
I took the first step in moving out of the apartment. I was fortunate enough to move back in with my parents who embraced my return with open arms.
After submitting my 2–week notice, I found a new job to start fresh. The location of my new employer was conveniently close to my parents' house far
away from the job and apartment I had previously left behind. Quite honestly, it was rather difficult assimilating to the new environments while
adjusting to the new lifestyle I had set in motion. Unfortunately, the pain was still there. It was only the beginning of my

As the semester of my first year in high school comes to an end, I look back to the beginning of the year to when I had no idea on how to write a

Reflective Essay On Self Esteem
Self–acceptance is an extremely prevalent issue that numerous people struggle with. It is one of the hardest to surmount, for it is something I still
struggle with to this day. Overall, my journey is a working progress as it will perpetuate to have its downfalls to test me. Like many of my generation,
social media has played an excessively paramount role in our lives, both negatively and positively. Sources of harmless entertainment have also
unintentionally encouraged self–judgment. Be that as it may, my perspective has been widely opened unexpectedly through a speaker's presentation as
she showed us how to recognize our self–worth. Confidence and self–esteem are hard to acquire for some, but it should not be a quantity you divest
yourself of. Self–acceptance of all insecurities and doubts is paramount since every individual has a unique beauty that should be cherished in order to
pursue a life full of love and jubilance.
During my sophomore year in high school, we had a Career Day with several guest speakers. They had split us up by gender, the girls stayed on
the right side of the school while the boys stayed on the left. We could not enter the opposite sides considering we had presentations concretely for
each group. As the boys had speakers to discuss the development of a gentleman, we had speakers addressing topics relating to makeup and on how
to be a lady. Towards the end of the day, my friends and I decided to choose our last presentation randomly. As we entered the room, there was this
resplendent woman with a surprisingly cordial atmosphere. She addressed us as if we were her own children; you could sense the love she had for
positivity before she even commenced to speak. She gave us a background story of her childhood during our age, for she too had struggled with
accepting herself with all her insecurities. She described her several encounters with bullying and how it had impacted her self–esteem even though she
appeared so vigorous and confident. I admired that about her the most, not once did she ever show the slightest bit of weakness, yet she too had
relatable problems. Then she mandated us to indite down the worst thing someone had ever verbally expressed about us, even if it were of our own

In what ways are the data gathered from others (i.e. the data that serve as the basis of your Reflected Best Self Portrait) similar or different from your

Overall, I'd say that the data gathered from others is reasonably similar to my own interpretation of my best self. The general meaning of themes are all
similar to what I'd mention, besides the caring theme, but I'd say that when you look at the specifics and see why others believe that this is a theme of
my best self compared to why I see it as part of my best self, some clear differences occur. I believe the best way of demonstrating this is by looking at
each theme individually.

Year 12 and 13, which I think shows that I only showed my potential for my best self in public very recently. Even teachers reacted similarly. The

Reflective Self–Analysis Essay My first semester as an exchange student, I decided to take a composition 1 class to improve my English skills. Before
I came to America, I thought I was advanced in English and I was so confident to speak it. I wasn't afraid to take this class because of my confidence
to get good grades, although I never had written any essays in English ever in my life. On the first day of class, my confidence was crumbled and I
could feel that my English skills were weak when I first received my graded essay. I felt a great gap fixed between natives English speakers and abroad
students. But at the same time, I thought positively about this class because it could give me a chance to cultivate my ability in English. I believe that
the purpose of this composition class is to eliminate elementary essay skills and focus on the topic, the development , the organization, and the proper
use of MLA style. Through the four times that I have written English essays, I have developed those skills. I was also able to find my strengths and
weaknesses in my essays through a reflective self analysis. I've noticed that my strengths are to focus on the topic, being organized, and having well

Essay about Self-Reflection: Writing Composition
I have always enjoyed writing, and I believed writing was a subject I was naturally good at. I turned in papers that were still rough drafts, I did not
evaluate my sources, nor did I ever take the time to fully understand the prompt. It was not until my first semester of college, in my writing
composition course, I realized that I had a lot of work ahead of me to be as good a writer as I thought I was. In the writing course, the students were
required to compose several essays using different methods to help progress on the course objectives. The work in this portfolio demonstrates that I
have used the methods of synthesis and evaluation of sources to advance my critical thinking skills and develop personal responsibility. Though I have

I was able to interpret the different type of impact the subjects experienced and then I was able to give a potential reason to why the impact on the
subjects was different. In a more recent synthesis essay, called "Ashputtle and the Rough–Faced Girl", I wrote "Ashputtle is given clothes to heal her
emotional wounds" (Tharwani 2). In the story, the author does not reveal the symbolic relationship between the clothes and Ashputtle's emotional
wounds; I had to critically think and recognize this symbolic relationship. I feel I have significantly improved my critical thinking skills to a point
where I can confidently call it one of my b strengths in writing. However, I improved my critical thinking skills by not only writing synthesis
essays, but also by evaluating sources to use in those essays. Another method, evaluation of sources, further progress my critical thinking skills and
helped me develop personal responsibility. When writing essays, quotes are a great strategy to prove a point. However, finding the right quotes and
as well as deciding if the source of the quote is reliable might be a challenge for some people; this was not the case for me. In one of my essays, called

Reflective Essay On Self Reflection

  • 1. Reflective Essay On Self Reflection In setting an intention for my practice throughout the semester, I knew that for it to be impactful it had to challenge me to further develop my skills as a contemplative person both in and out of the classroom. I began the Fall 2017 semester without a particularly strong intention for anything. Perhaps a simple intention to excel and get high grades in my new courses. An intention to meet new people and make friends. However, soon enough, by the end of the 2nd week of the semester specifically, it was intuitively divined that I should set an intention to listen for my 49 day project. More specifically then to just listen was a desire to allow other people, things, and situations communicating to me to be allowed to express themselves authentically while feeling that they were genuinely being heard. I considered this to be a great intention for myself, because while it is true, that on more than one occasion, I have been told that I am a good listener, that people feel I give them my full attention and am not thinking of a response instead I'm attentively absorbing what they have to say. It is also true that many people consider me to be a very stubborn person that doesn't allow feedback, criticism, or advice to change my course of actions. People feel that no matter they tell me, I don't change. I don't completely agree with such assessments, but I do realize this could be an important area for my growth. Being able to listen, understand, and make people feel that what they Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Essay about Self Reflective Report Self Reflective Report Contents Introduction 2 Definition of Self–Reflection 2 Research Findings 3 Delivery of Debate, Strengths and Weaknesses 4 Feedback Evaluation and Myself Reflection 5 Conclusion...show more content... Reports were taken from CIPD, a research programme that focus on the future of HR. These reports such as 'HR in Tough Times' by Philip Sadler, have helped me understand the main implications faced by Human Resources at the present. One of the reports, the Annual survey report 2011 by Hays, I believe it contained very important information for my debate, although due to the lack of time and understanding I was not able to fully read the report, this could have been more explored as it had important information for the research such as, statistics which I have missed in all the debate. Statistics related to turnover, employment market were some I could have used for my research, also should have mentioned more references during my speaking. Delivery of Debate, Strengths and Weaknesses Determining one's own strengths and weaknesses is a reflective process that is not always an easy task, although by knowing and gain an understanding of my strengths and weaknesses is beneficial for my future projects. • 3. Self-Reflective Essay During the course of the quarter, I feel that I have progressed somewhat. I've gained a lot of knowledge on rhetorical strategies and how to present arguments effectively. In the writings I have written, I feel that each writing works towards meeting the course goals. Logos, ethos, and pathos were strategies and ideas we were introduced to (if not already in the past) and were built upon throughout the quarter. The knowledge gained over the course of the quarter weren't only those three types of appeals. Rhetorical strategies like proposals helped reinforce the course and using rhetorical analysis in different situations have become easier throughout the quarter. I believe that I have made sufficient progress towards becoming a better ...show more content... The logos of the box would be derived from . . . The pathos of this box could be interpreted from . . . The ethos of this box can be recognized from . . ." (Ngo Autobio 4). Also, I addressed one the course goal in revising my writing and using feedback to help facilitate this. In this paper alone, I feel that I have made some progress in the course (mainly using logos, ethos, and pathos as a rhetorical strategy in this paper). My second pieces of writings (two proposals) reflected my progress in the ability to to use feedback and revise my writings which was a course goal. In this case, many rhetorical strategies were employed. Revisions weren't as simple as changing grammar and using correct punctuation (although that was something that helped me grow as a writer). A change of style was implemented from my "Cornell–styled Box Project Proposal #1" to my revision. I also used feedback I received to rewrite many parts of my rewrite. Effectively using feedback has helped me move towards the course goals since revisions were never my strong point. This usually was because I never needed to do many revisions in high school and especially since high school was much easier than now. Also, I progressed enough to understand how to use the pathos in one text and turn it into something entirely different yet arguing the same things. "The strongest feeling I received from the text Inception is the cliched saying of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. What Is Self Reflection Essay Self– Reflection Childhood is the best days of human life. We get love from everyone. Our needs and wants are fulfilled at any cost by our loved ones. But as we grow, we remember a very few things that had happened in our childhood. So, when I got to do this assignment, I hurried to call my mom to know how I was in my childhood. This assignment is based on self–reflection. Human self–reflection is the capacity of humans to exercise introspections and the willingness to learn more about their fundamental nature, purpose and essence. Human self–reflection is related to the philosophy of consciousness, the topic of awareness, consciousness in general and the philosophy of mind. One of the most important things for you to understand about self–confidence is that it is a great and useful thing to...show more content... For example, I wasn't talkative and I always want to be alone. Moreover, I was unfriendly with people other than my family. Physically, I was very weak, so I was not that much active. I don't like strangers to enter my house even. Because of that, I don't have many friends. I even could not control my anger. If I cried for something, I should get it somehow. All over I could say that my self–esteem was very low in my childhood. Then comes my schooling days. When I started my school life, things got totally changed. I started making friends, physically I became active and my self–confidence started to grow. I believe that, it might have been because of the changes in environment. When we go outside from our home we socialized more as we made new friends, we learnt to cooperate with others. And we learnt to respect our elders and gained valuable skills and rules from outside environment. All these things brought and built my self–confidence. I experienced the same things during my school Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Self Reflective Essay Having the opportunity to work with our client on home modifications over the past month was an enlightening experience. Not only did we learn how to implement contextual interventions, we also were given the opportunity to practice building rapport, administering assessments (COPM and SAFER–HOME), and developing our first evaluation report. Amongst this learning experience, the first step to making this summer fieldwork successful was developing rapport with our client, B.K. As learned in our previous fieldworks, developing a trusting, partnered relationship is key to creating a successful experience for not only you the therapist, but to assure the client receives the most benefits they can from the therapy. To build rapport with B.K., we spent our first two sessions getting to know all aspects of B.K.'s life including her work, play and leisure interests, ADL and IADL performances, social participation techniques and educational background....show more content... as she shared about her story leading to her AKA, a strong relationship and rapport was built which created a reciprocal dynamic between B.K. and us. Creating this positive, caring relationship allowed B.K. to be vulnerable to our contextual adaptation suggestions. After rapport was built, we used visits three and four to identify potential adaptations she could benefit from. Through administration of the COPM, we noted which areas of occupational performance she wanted to work on most. The SAFER–HOME allowed us to target which environmental barriers may have threatened her safety and mobility in the home, thereby decreasing her occupational performance in some of the identified problem areas in the COPM. In addition, task analysis of a wheelchair to bed transfer and her playing a card game allowed us to attain a better understanding of her performance patterns and skills, which in turn fostered several potential adaptation Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Dr. Hawking's Origin Of The Universe "Self– awareness doesn't stop you from making mistakes, it allows you to learn from them". Self–reflection is an important factor in improving oneself. In the past, the essays that I have written have mainly received positive feedback. Despite this, there is still much room for improvement in my writing. Earlier in the semester, I was assigned an essay for my chemistry lab class. We were instructed to watch a video about Dr. Stephen Hawking's theory on the origin of the universe and then to summarize the video in a 500–word essay. In my opinion, the essay I wrote titled "Dr. Hawking's Origin of the Universe" was merely average. Although there were some very strong points made throughout the essay, it can be improved on in many other areas. My strengths in this assignment were my use of accelerated vocabulary and the essay's strong conclusion. The weaknesses of my essay were the vague nature of my explanations in addition to my lack of a works cited page. For the essay, we had to watch "Stephen Hawking's Universe – The Story of Everything" and explain the video. The video can be found on Vimeo's website and is approximately 45 minutes long. The subject matter covered in the video was the theory that the origin of the universe and all matter began with the Big Bang. The video also covered the theory of the formation of the elements. Dr. Hawking, along with many other great scientific figures, believes that a celestial event known as the Big Bang kick–started the formation Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Core Skills Self Reflective Essay Core Skills Self–reflective Essay In this essay I will go through the most important skills that I acquired in the last few years in relation to the ones needed in the industry. In addition, I will also look at my weaknesses and what I can do to overcome them. Since I started my studies and up to this date, I have learned a lot about what is required to work in the Aviation industry. There is a wide range of skills required, although most of them apply to roles one can take on in the specific industry. In other words, some skills are more role–specific. Reflecting on my skills, I believe I have excellent social, communication and language skills. These skills are essential in any customer–facing or team work oriented job. As explained by Morgeson, F. P. et al. in "Selecting individuals in team settings: The importance of social skills, personality characteristics, and teamwork knowledge." (2005): "Social skills are particularly important in team settings because working in teams increases the interdependence among workers, typically producing greater conflict, workload sharing, and coordination demands than work that is performed independently..." I have always been a "people person" and my communication with people is very good. It gives me great pleasure to make other people laugh and cater for their needs. It has never been difficult for me to form new friendships and maintain existing ones. For instance, when I was in primary school, I had made a lot of friends, four Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Writing Self-Reflection Essay Providence when not divine ,it is foresight' was a thought that was always haunting me from childhood, little knowing that later in my life the writer in me is taking its shape. At times I thought why I could not solve problems academic as well as personal by using the same kind of thinking which we used when we created them ,as my greatest problem was what to do about all the things I couldn't do anything about. Time passed and I set sails for SJSU.On arriving here ,I realised that I had grown wings and my perception of life had changed,so had ,my line–of–thought.Earlier, it was a kind of guided writing ,but now it had turned innovative, having an original subtle learning towards 'thought provoking themes' that were inspired by...show more content... • 9. Self Reflection On Entrepreneurship In this assignment I aim to self–reflect on my personal entrepreneurial skill. According to the Cambridge dictionary self–reflection is 'the activity of thinking about your own feelings and behaviour, and the reasons that may lie behind them'. Self–reflection is a crucial part of development, one of the reasons for this is because self–reflection enables you to review yourself. It then becomes easier for you to evaluate your performance, this can be used to make improvements for the future. Entrepreneurship The Oxford dictionary define entrepreneurship as 'The activity of setting up a business or businesses, taking on financial risks in the hope of profit.' An Entrepreneur consists of an individual who is both creative and innovative; I believe an entrepreneur is an open–minded individual; this enables them to think of creative thoughts and ideas that they can use to set–up their own business/businesses. In order to put these creative thoughts and ideas to good use they also need to be innovative. The 'Business Dictionary' states that Entrepreneurship is 'The capacity and willingness to develop, organize and manage a business venture along with any of its risks in order to make a profit.' This supports the fact that as an entrepreneur you need to be willing to take calculated risks, with the aim of prospering and therefore meeting aims and objectives. An entrepreneur needs to be able to handle taking a loss; an entrepreneur would usually learn from this to enhance their skills so that less mistakes occur in the future. Self–Reflection is crucial for development (Kolb, 1984) In my previous education institution, a reflection was undertaken in teamworking. We worked as a team and set–up a project for a talent show. After we accomplished this we handed out questionnaires to our audience (to gather feedback on how we performed); we were then able to use the distributed questionnaire to gather more knowledge and understanding on various methods that we could improve for the future. Hobbs and Kolb are authors who have a strong belief in reflecting on your work. As an entrepreneur this is crucial as it enables you to find any errors that you may have made to then rectify them. An example of this is when I Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Reflective Essay On Self Awareness As individuals, we tend to formulate both positive and negative opinions of others based on personal experiences and life exposures. These exposures help shape our belief systems and perceptions towards others. Our different perceptions cause us to generate biases and prejudices towards groups that we might not always affiliate with. However, we are often not aware that we stereotype others and regard them in a negative manner. The realization of the concept can be uncomfortable to grasp, which is why we often deny the beliefs all together. It is often believed that therapists have the required knowledge to help different groups of individuals with an open mind, but that is not always the case. As a psychologist in training, I understand that the first step to being culturally competent is to have self–awareness and recognize your own biases and prejudices. As an Iranian–American, I grew up identifying with my Persian culture, but not with the religious aspect of being Muslim. My immediate family never stressed religious beliefs upon me and I did not have exposure to the practice. In my hometown of Palos Verdes, I never witnessed individuals around me wearing hijab or affiliating with the Muslim religion. It was not until later in my childhood that I met a member of my distant family who had strict religious viewpoints. During our first encounter, I vividly remember how he refused to shake my hand because I was of the opposite sex and not in his immediate family. He had Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Self Reflective Study In comparing my behavior and my cognition, I noticed that I had small difference with regards to my study habits as I had two ineffective cognitions and one ineffective and one effective behavior. I think the difference exists due to several factors that influence my cognitive process. The first is that I was in a severe car accident many years and I have trouble remembering through rote reading and memorization. This has caused me to become frustrated and self–critical, believing I cannot learn like other people. I have also found through this exercise that I have tied my self–worth to my grades. I will need to accomplish several tasks to make them more congruent in a positive way. I will need to find a more effective way to study, which will account for my impairment. The second task will be to develop a more set of positive cognitions. In order to accomplish this I will need to find my learning style, which I now believe is a combination of aural and social. The second task will involve challenging my perceptions and cognitions. I will accomplish this through making an honest self–assessment with the help of my mentor. My plan also includes making use of audio recordings...show more content... The reason for the incongruity are my inability to set healthy boundaries and limit my care taking tendencies. To make these areas more consistent I will first need to get a more positive view of boundaries. To accomplish this I will make a pros and cons list of boundary setting and care taking. One thing I will need to be mindful of is the recurring fear of telling someone no. • 12. Self Reflective Essay: Creative Practitioner I have taken many decisions in my life, but none as important as coming to an art school. In this mapping essay I will primarily cover a self–reflective analysis of who I am as a creative practitioner, I will describe my vision towards my future as a professional and my educational life. This essay will also cover a thoughtful analysis in designing an individualized curricular path during my remaining time here at SAIC. I was born in Chicago, but raised in Guadalajara, Mexico. I live with my two older siblings and my mother. We moved numerous times while living in Mexico and Chicago, mostly because we could not afford a place to live. Although it was hard to constantly move, we always managed to overcome these situations. My family and I came back to Chicago almost ten years ago. The...show more content... This coming fall I am planning to take my last history class, which focuses on the origins of a modern home in the United States and Europe. I decided to take this class because I am interested in development and the psychological state that a house produces in human beings. Another class I am highly interested it in taking is Advance Ceramics with Professor Benjamin M DeMott. This is one of the classes that Professor Patricia recommended me. The class focuses on critiques and discussions of contemporary ceramics. Concurrently, I will like to take a performance class this semester. I think that a performance class will be ideal for my practice. Also, I will like to take a drawing class that focuses on visionary drawing; this class combines research and studio emphasizing architecture, interior and landscape. This course combines active studio practice by making drawings of proposals for spaces, buildings and sculptures. Spring of 2017. Since all my remaining classes are studio, for the spring of 2017 I will like to keep taking ceramics. In addition to my curricular path, I will like to take a photography class, sculpture and a drawing Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Importance Of Self Reflection Research has been increasingly done on learning and self–reflect and its effectiveness, one of the first researchers' john Dewey stated, 'we do not learn from experience... We learn from reflecting on experience.' John believed that deep learning comes from array of experience, reflection, abstraction, and active testing. James Zull's (2002) fascinating book on the biology of learning, points out evidence that the learning cycles arises naturally from the structure of the brain. Donald Schon also amongst the first to write about reflective practice with his exploration of experience, interaction and reflection with his book 'the reflective practitioner' in 1983, Donald defines reflective practice as the practice by which professionals become receptive of the implicit knowledge base and learn from their experience. 'The practitioners allowed Donald to experience puzzlement, surprise or confusion in a situation which is found uncertain or unique. Self–reflection is like considering a mirror and describing what you see. The term refers to an activity or process in which an experience is recalled, considered and evaluated to gain insight on oneself, ones valued or knowledge gained. The ability to reflect on experience encourages insight and complex learning. In contrast, self–reflection is a process used to study one's own performance in order to improve it. In order for one to succeed, it is vital to have knowledge of what each strengths and weaknesses are for self–development Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Reflective Essay On Self Love Self–Love I believe one of the greatest breakthroughs in consciousness occurs when the person you love no longer loves you and decides to end the relationship with you for good. You are so used to loving that person that when you enter that new chapter in your life alone, it almost seems as iflove is lost. You start to wonder if it is even worth loving anyone else. As we all know, love is essential to one's well–being, but who can we truly love that wouldn't stop loving us back? The answer: loving yourself. I believe self–love is the most important type of love anybody can have. It is possible for everyone, but just like anything that is worth achieving, it requires hard–work. I never knew the importance of self–love until it was the only choice I had. It was on the day of April 11th, 2016, that my 6–year relationship had ended. The woman I had loved with all my heart left me in an empty apartment along with all the bills. At the time, I felt broken and worthless. There I was sitting on the kitchen floor smoking a cigarette, replaying the heartbreaking event incessantly in my head. Miraculously, that same night I had an epiphany. I had realized that over the course of 6 years, I was conditioned to love someone more than myself. The tears stopped running down my face as a smile emerged. I was no longer in shackles. I was freed. Freedom had arrived, and I had felt like it was Remular 2 time to make a change. For the first time in over half a decade, I trusted my intuition. Suddenly I knew what had to be done in order to shift out of the co–dependent and depressing paradigms. I took the first step in moving out of the apartment. I was fortunate enough to move back in with my parents who embraced my return with open arms. After submitting my 2–week notice, I found a new job to start fresh. The location of my new employer was conveniently close to my parents' house far away from the job and apartment I had previously left behind. Quite honestly, it was rather difficult assimilating to the new environments while adjusting to the new lifestyle I had set in motion. Unfortunately, the pain was still there. It was only the beginning of my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Reflective Essay On Self Reflection As the semester of my first year in high school comes to an end, I look back to the beginning of the year to when I had no idea on how to write a quality paper or even how to use correct format and evidence. However, with a teacher who connects with students and using tools to enhance my paper, I feel more confident in independently writing an essay. In spite of the fact that it's been a little over four months since the beginning of the year, I feel like I have improved. From "to–be verbs" to sentence structures, I have slowly seen my work advance and progress. Although I do not have the most superior grades for my papers, in my opinion, I have improved in all skill types including reading, writing, speaking/listening, and learning ...show more content... In term one my writing grades for two and three scored an eighty five and sixty five percent. In term two, my scores did increase to a one hundred and eighty five percent but then dropped back down to two seventy five percent scores. I believe that since I didn't use different techniques to help my writing, I received poor grades. Instead, I slacked off thinking my grade would stay proficient. Next semester, I want to try and widen my vocabulary and use more advanced word choice in all my work. Now on the other hand, my speaking and listening skills are significantly better compared to my other skill component grades. The lowest score reaching from seventy five percent to a high of one hundred. From the first speaking grade to the seventh, the grades in order reach an eighty five, two ninetys, two seventy fives, an eighty five, and lastly a hundred. I always liked discussing and debating. I find it interesting listening and analyzing others thoughts and opinions in a mature way. Out of all the skills, discussing beats all of them by a long shot. I always enjoyed socializing and expressing my own opinions since day one. I learn well and always pay attention which resulted in higher grades. Besides expressing my opinions, I did struggle with trying to bring up a new subject or topic worth talking about. For Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Reflective Essay On Self Esteem Self–acceptance is an extremely prevalent issue that numerous people struggle with. It is one of the hardest to surmount, for it is something I still struggle with to this day. Overall, my journey is a working progress as it will perpetuate to have its downfalls to test me. Like many of my generation, social media has played an excessively paramount role in our lives, both negatively and positively. Sources of harmless entertainment have also unintentionally encouraged self–judgment. Be that as it may, my perspective has been widely opened unexpectedly through a speaker's presentation as she showed us how to recognize our self–worth. Confidence and self–esteem are hard to acquire for some, but it should not be a quantity you divest yourself of. Self–acceptance of all insecurities and doubts is paramount since every individual has a unique beauty that should be cherished in order to pursue a life full of love and jubilance. During my sophomore year in high school, we had a Career Day with several guest speakers. They had split us up by gender, the girls stayed on the right side of the school while the boys stayed on the left. We could not enter the opposite sides considering we had presentations concretely for each group. As the boys had speakers to discuss the development of a gentleman, we had speakers addressing topics relating to makeup and on how to be a lady. Towards the end of the day, my friends and I decided to choose our last presentation randomly. As we entered the room, there was this resplendent woman with a surprisingly cordial atmosphere. She addressed us as if we were her own children; you could sense the love she had for positivity before she even commenced to speak. She gave us a background story of her childhood during our age, for she too had struggled with accepting herself with all her insecurities. She described her several encounters with bullying and how it had impacted her self–esteem even though she appeared so vigorous and confident. I admired that about her the most, not once did she ever show the slightest bit of weakness, yet she too had relatable problems. Then she mandated us to indite down the worst thing someone had ever verbally expressed about us, even if it were of our own Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Best Self Reflection Paper In what ways are the data gathered from others (i.e. the data that serve as the basis of your Reflected Best Self Portrait) similar or different from your own perceptions of your best self? Overall, I'd say that the data gathered from others is reasonably similar to my own interpretation of my best self. The general meaning of themes are all similar to what I'd mention, besides the caring theme, but I'd say that when you look at the specifics and see why others believe that this is a theme of my best self compared to why I see it as part of my best self, some clear differences occur. I believe the best way of demonstrating this is by looking at each theme individually. Regarding the theme of Organisation, I personally think that my peers do...show more content... Most friends' examples are from the last three years because that's when I really started to open up and gain confidence in the public sphere, especially Year 13. The main exception to this is when a friend speaks about personal support which is something that has occurred for a much longer period of time. As I mentioned before, the majority of examples, especially regarding leadership and speaking are in reference to the time between Year 12 and 13, which I think shows that I only showed my potential for my best self in public very recently. Even teachers reacted similarly. The same questioned asked four years ago meant friends and teachers would've said more about being kind, polite, and organised but ideas like leadership and speaking only came during the last two to three Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Reflective Essay : Reflective Self Essay Reflective Self–Analysis Essay My first semester as an exchange student, I decided to take a composition 1 class to improve my English skills. Before I came to America, I thought I was advanced in English and I was so confident to speak it. I wasn't afraid to take this class because of my confidence to get good grades, although I never had written any essays in English ever in my life. On the first day of class, my confidence was crumbled and I could feel that my English skills were weak when I first received my graded essay. I felt a great gap fixed between natives English speakers and abroad students. But at the same time, I thought positively about this class because it could give me a chance to cultivate my ability in English. I believe that the purpose of this composition class is to eliminate elementary essay skills and focus on the topic, the development , the organization, and the proper use of MLA style. Through the four times that I have written English essays, I have developed those skills. I was also able to find my strengths and weaknesses in my essays through a reflective self analysis. I've noticed that my strengths are to focus on the topic, being organized, and having well development. My weaknesses are diction/syntax, using proper MLA format, and making citations on an essay. I found out my strengths which are focusing, organization and development through my "Bottle Water and Tap Water" essay's conclusion part and "Hinduism with Water" essay's Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Essay about Self-Reflection: Writing Composition I have always enjoyed writing, and I believed writing was a subject I was naturally good at. I turned in papers that were still rough drafts, I did not evaluate my sources, nor did I ever take the time to fully understand the prompt. It was not until my first semester of college, in my writing composition course, I realized that I had a lot of work ahead of me to be as good a writer as I thought I was. In the writing course, the students were required to compose several essays using different methods to help progress on the course objectives. The work in this portfolio demonstrates that I have used the methods of synthesis and evaluation of sources to advance my critical thinking skills and develop personal responsibility. Though I have ...show more content... I was able to interpret the different type of impact the subjects experienced and then I was able to give a potential reason to why the impact on the subjects was different. In a more recent synthesis essay, called "Ashputtle and the Rough–Faced Girl", I wrote "Ashputtle is given clothes to heal her emotional wounds" (Tharwani 2). In the story, the author does not reveal the symbolic relationship between the clothes and Ashputtle's emotional wounds; I had to critically think and recognize this symbolic relationship. I feel I have significantly improved my critical thinking skills to a point where I can confidently call it one of my b strengths in writing. However, I improved my critical thinking skills by not only writing synthesis essays, but also by evaluating sources to use in those essays. Another method, evaluation of sources, further progress my critical thinking skills and helped me develop personal responsibility. When writing essays, quotes are a great strategy to prove a point. However, finding the right quotes and as well as deciding if the source of the quote is reliable might be a challenge for some people; this was not the case for me. In one of my essays, called "Shocking Results", I wrote "Jerry Burger, a psychologist, points out that 'follow–up questionnaire data [indicated] that the vast majority of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
