Content Standard

organize and produce creative works 
for enjoyment.

songs with correct pronunciation

Vocabulary 
fly swim 
leap bird 
frog fish
Set Induction 
The teacher acts out the movement of some animals 
commonly seen by the pupils. 
ex: a fish, a bird, a snake, a rabbit, etc. 
Teacher asks the pupils to guess the animals. 
Teacher may list some useful words ex. fly, swim, 
glide, hop.
Presentation 
The teacher puts up some word cards and 
says them aloud. The pupils repeat. 
The teacher drills the pupils to read and 
spell the words.

Presentation 
The teacher then shows a lyric of a song on the 
screen through the LCD. 
The teacher sings the song aloud to the class and 
the pupils repeat. (in the tune of Lompat si Katak 
Lompat)

actions.

Fly up to the tree the tree 
Fly down in the garden 
Fly fly over the den 
Leap leap the fatty frog leap leap 
Leap up to the stone the stone 
Leap down into the stream

Swim swim over the leg.
Practice 
Teacher demonstrates the steps to make 
origami of a bird, a frog and a fish. 
The pupils observe.
Production 
The teacher divides the pupils into groups. 
The teacher demonstrates how to make 
origami of a bird, a fish and a frog. 
The pupils carry out the activity.
Closure 
The teacher asks the pupils to sing and act 
out the song again.

  • 1. EENNGGLLIISSHH LLAANNGGUUAAGGEE YYEEAARR 22 FOCUSSED SKILL/THEME: LANGUAGE ART TOPIC: Animals’ Movements
  • 2. Content Standard 4.1 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to enjoy and appreciate rhymes, poems and songs, through performance. 4.3 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to plan, organize and produce creative works for enjoyment.
  • 3. Learning Standard 4.1.2 Able to listen to and recite nursery rhymes, jazz chants and sing action songs with correct pronunciation and rhythm 4.3.1 Able to produce simple creative works with guidance based on: (b) action songs
  • 4. Vocabulary fly swim leap bird frog fish
  • 5. Set Induction The teacher acts out the movement of some animals commonly seen by the pupils. ex: a fish, a bird, a snake, a rabbit, etc. Teacher asks the pupils to guess the animals. Teacher may list some useful words ex. fly, swim, glide, hop.
  • 6. Presentation The teacher puts up some word cards and says them aloud. The pupils repeat. The teacher drills the pupils to read and spell the words.

  • 8. Presentation The teacher then shows a lyric of a song on the screen through the LCD. The teacher sings the song aloud to the class and the pupils repeat. (in the tune of Lompat si Katak Lompat) The teacher asks the pupils to sing and do the actions.

  • 10. Practice Teacher demonstrates the steps to make origami of a bird, a frog and a fish. The pupils observe.
  • 11. Production The teacher divides the pupils into groups. The teacher demonstrates how to make origami of a bird, a fish and a frog. The pupils carry out the activity.
  • 12. Closure The teacher asks the pupils to sing and act out the song again.
